Wonderful experience! Khanh and the owner of the bicycle shop(I forgot his name) accompanied us! They were both fantastic. The ride was gorgeous and a bit exciting at times bc the city streets are chaotic! The scenery was gorgeous and the food was good too! We have been on many tours and Khanh was my favorite for his knowledge and relaxed nature.

We loved this tour! We enjoyed the ride and the food so much. We would never have figured out all these wonderful places and meals. It was really delightful. A wonderful surprise at every stop. The ride is for confident street cyclists as you are riding close to cars. I felt very safe and enjoyed of the beaten track alleys and bike friendly paths.
This tour was amazing. It is much more than a food tour. Huy was a great guide. We hadn’t been on bikes in a while and he was very patient and kind when we needed to go slow. Would 10/10 recommend.
I (not my partner) was a little nervous of riding a bike around Hoi An due to being unfamiliar with the style of traffic. Our guide did an excellent job of instructing and checking on us throughout the evening. He was professional, informative, and interesting to talk with during the evening. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was because there was too much food. We felt wasteful. Our guide listened to our request for no more food and showed us around Old Town at night with all the colorful lanterns and many people enjoying the night.
Had a nice small tour with An last week. He was very informative about all the things we came across on our journey, from the types of plants encountered, to the history of the dishes/stores we visited, etc. All up, the tour let's you try several dishes that you might not normally have come across. The bike ride is also really peaceful and can be done at a pace you're comfortable with. An had great English and kept things interesting. 10/10 experience.
Had a picturesque and delicious tour with Yen. She was accommodating, kind, funny and full of knowledge and she loves what she does so her enthusiasm is infectious. Got to try some local specialties and see the landscape in and around Hoi An while on a bike. Highly recommend this tour to see beautiful scenery and to try some delicious delicacies!
Yen was fantastic. The bikes were great. The food was fantastic and there was lots of it. Getting into the countryside and having Cao Lău next to the vegetable gardens in a family home was a highlight.
We had the most amazing time. I can’t lie I was worried about cycling in the traffic especially as we haven’t cycled for years. But our guide Quan was so calm and clear it turned out to be straightforward. Quan took us to places we would never have known about and tried things we would never have tried. We visited an organic farm and ate special Hoi An noodles, they were amazing. The ride into the countryside and everything that Quan explained to us made the tour even more enjoyable. There was so much food. Even the most delicious cheeses. Honestly we cant recommend this tour highly enough and you get to meet local people and enjoy their hospitality. Quan was a great guide and we had so much fun.Thank you, guys.
Highly recommend. Four hour, 7 course food tour on bike. Had such a fun time. An was amazing and he was a perfect host. A chance to see a different side to Hoi An. Food was delicious, vegetable village very interesting. Not a hard cycle so good for all abilities. Thanks An for a lovely evening, Justine & Nick
Our tour leader, Yen, could not have been better. The food was all delicious and the ride through the rice paddies was magical. We especially loved our stop at an organic garden and our meal at the owner's house.
Great tour with lovely food. We were a group of 4 people all in our late 50’s. Cycling easy. Excellent bikes. Flat terrain. Our guide a local girl Len/Yen (?) spoke very good English and was safety conscious. She ordered food that we would not have known about. At most stops we were the only tourists there. This cycle was one of the highlights of our trip. Adam if you are reading this you have a star employee here!
After taking our first Grasshopper city tour in Chiang Mai last month, we sought them out on arrival in Hoi An. Of the day-trip offerings, the evening bike and food tour appealed to our sense of activity and palate. We were certainly not disappointed. Following a thorough safety and procedures briefing, Guide Yin led us off at 4 pm, with the first stop about 3 minutes later. Overall, the tour was primarily on quiet alleys and paths along the fields, turning back into the city as darkness arrived. Each food stop was a distinct culinary delight, including one in a private home in the midst of large organic organic garden area. Yin was a superb guide, cautious in traffic and a wealth of local information. This tour is not to be missed!
This was one of the best things we did while in Vietnam. We were a family of 4 with the youngest being 10 and we all had a blast. Our guides Yen and Sunny were awesome, they both made sure we were all safe when riding on the roads (especially the kids), which is an experience in it self.....The ride was easy, the food was fantastic and what an awesome experience for the kids. This was a real highlight for all of us and made all the better by Yen and Sunny. The one recommendation I would make is try and take something to record your ride around the streets, its something that you will want to look back on.
We had an amazing afternoon and evening around Hoi An on the good Grasshopper Hybrid bikes with Lyna - our tour guide. This tour gets you close to locals and some great authentic food! The scenery and bike path was mostly very calm and interesting! Lyna has excellent English, passion for her job and made the evening a great experience!! Highly recommended!
We had a great food tour with Sunny - lots of great stops, and gets you out of the city to see some surrounding countryside. Would do again.
From the minute we arrived Yen was enthusiastic, friendly, funny and showed a real love for her job and her country. All 7 of us loved the tour. We felt very safe in the crazy traffic, very important as we had 4 children with us. My nephew was celebrating his bday and she organised a cake for him for when we got back to the office....... how thoughtful and what a great way to end an amazing tour.
Extremely well organized and planned tour, you eat your way around Hoi An and every place is better than the previous. You end up full, so make sure you don’t eat lunch first! Bikes are in great conditions and my tour guide, Trân, was fun, and knew her way around very well. Highly recommended!
Quan was AWESOME! It ended up just being me and my husband on our tour and Quan was a great guide for two people who hadn’t riden bikes in quite some time. Quan showed us the beautiful villages outside of Hoi An and the food was SO good. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience or better food! We left very very full! Thanks Quan for an unforgettable evening!
My husband and I did the evening food tour ( leaves at 4pm back around 8 pm) with Yen and had a blast. This tour was one of the top 5 things we have down while in Vietnam. Her English was very good, she’s funny and the food and drink places she selected were an excellent showcase of local cuisine. We especially loved that they were placed we would not have known about or stopped at on our own. The bike ride was enjoyable and we felt comfortable with her guidance. I would whole heartily recommend skipping lunch and taking this tour!! Thank you Yen and Grasshopper!
Wonderful humorous energetic guide with plentiful and delicious food choices. A rare way to bike and eat your way through historic busy Hoi An.
Totally awesome gastronomic bike tour including some rural areas on hoi an outskirts-Yen is great and vivacious guide. Excellent bikes. They have a guard guide in back so super secure. Highly recommend!
Hoi An is incredible and this is the best way to see and experience parts you wouldn’t really find through guide books or hints online. I won’t spoil the surprises of where you visit but they are loved and frequented by locals or a unique experience. You’re on a bike for 20km and it’s at a bit of a pace and for those not confident on a bike you may wish to opt for paying more to sit on the back of a motorbike which I believe is an option. Lyna and trainee Si we’re both brilliant. Knowledgable, fun and informative, they took us to some incredible places. They are a credit to the business. Hoi An has some unique food. This is a must for those wanting something different, fun and off the beaten path. Thank you Grasshopper and thank you Lyna and Si.
Really enjoyed bike ride and all the food. An (our tour guide) was very informative and lots of fun. An answered all our questions and was very safety aware. Highly recommend
If you like food and can leisurely ride a bicycle, you should definitely put this tour on your itinerary. The tour was great from beginning to end. Started with delicious Bahn Mi, Cau Lau noodles at a family's home that were better than any we could find in restaurants of Hoi An, grilled seafood, Bahn xeo, and some much that I need to go back through my photos to remember. Quan was an amazing guide and host, demonstrating how the locals eat each delicious dish. He was patient with my sister and I riding through Hoi An and the surrounding country side (sister not the strongest cyclist). We traded stories, and he shared tips on what to do and where to go in Hoi An during the rest of our stay. Definitely recommend.
A great food tour led by Yen. We particularly enjoyed the visit to the community farm. Plenty of food so make sure you come with an appetite! Yen was a great guide and looked after us well. I probably would not recommend for young families as some of the riding is challenging in the traffic but for couples and families with teenagers, we would highly recommend this tour!
We cycled out with Yen from Grasshopper on our first night in Hoi An, by way of introducing our kids to the local cuisine. Yen is a fantastic tour guide: lots of fun, and passionate about her country and its food. We trusted her immediately. The mountain bikes we cycled on are top notch, and all was ready for us, with only minor seat adjustments to make. We began with Banh Mi rolls in the office which were delicious. Heading out in to the traffic requires nerve at first, but it was absolutely fine. The locals do not get road rage and drive/scooter slow enough to go around all obstacles, including a line of foreigners on bikes. Grasshopper assign another rider to bring up the rear of groups any larger than 4, so that we were safely bookended by Yen and her sidekick. Once in the countryside, it's tranquil and lovely. We had a bowl of cau lau noodles which both my kids (aged 9 & 15) liked and then it was back on the bikes and into the town again for banh xeo and pork skewers, also YA friendly. Our trip included a stop for cinnamon and cashew ice cream in a very pretty cafe, as well as a platter of cheese and a craft beer in a colonial-style bar. It finished with prawn skewers and clams in a fragrant lemon grass broth on a dock-side boat, by which time we were stuffed to the gills and very content. The kids did not try these two, but they did pretty well and enjoyed the tour as much as their parents. If we had brought them to any of the restaurants we visited they would have baulked, but with the fabulous Yen as our guide there were no complaints whatsoever!! We enjoyed it so much, we booked the countryside tour too, and that was equally good. We are now contemplating doing a multi-day tour with Grasshopper next time round.
We had an amazing time. Our guide Quan (and 2 gorgeous motorbike drivers) were amazingly sweet, helpful and accommodating. We had our daughter and her Nanna unable to ride bikes, so paid an extra 200,000VND for them to be taken on motorbikes). So glad we did this together as family and weren’t put off by the challenges. Quan gave us so much extra information, he was so friendly and knowledgeable, and the food was totally DELICIOUS! Be hungry!! There’s so much food! Grasshoppers tours were very professional and accommodating! I highly recommend them.
Wonderful ride through the back streets and organic farming areas of Hoi an. Thanks to our tour guides Yen and Dhat for helping us ride like locals. Food was excellent. Guides were informative and entertaining. Great way to sample the food and sights of this beautiful and historic place.
Amazing food and bike experience to discover Hoi An off road! Very authentic, combining small restaurant savouries with local family dinner! Kids and I had a blast, great tour guide Quan took good care of us! Thanks for this one of a kind activity! I recommend 100%!
First thing you should do in town if you are foodie! Banh mi was the best in VN! And noodle I had was also best in town! Simple and fresh! 一人で参加しました。どの場所もとても美味しかったです。お手拭きと、ティッシュは必須です。
I had bike tour with An the cutie you vietnamese boy in Hoi an.It suppose to be a group tour but it was just only me and they are very nice to give me the solo trip.An was very nice and kind took a really good care of me while ride and keep me safe from the traffic lol.The best experient that I will always remember is cooking with Grandma at her house in the organic farm village..This is what you need once in your own life!!!
This is an amazing food tour worth every penny. It starts with the fact that Grasshopper is a quality tour organizer which makes it easy to sign up and sends you a reminder a couple of days before our tour. Next we had a wonderful guide named Quan who spoke excellent English and attended to our every need. Quan gracefully answered our million questions about Vietnam, local culture, and of course the food. The tour explores both city foods and the local country side. It gives you the opportunity to sample six expertly prepared and delicious local cuisine. Be sure to come hungry because you will end the evening happy and full. We strongly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to sample great Vietnamese food while biking the beautiful Hoi An country side. Thank you, Quan!
We had a so much fun with Yen on this tour. The food was amazing, we learnt alot along the way about food, local culture, and Yen herself, who was so much fun and speaks great english! Highly recommend this tour if you love to eat, explore the local culture/scene, while getting some exercise in. The bikes were great and while biking on the busy streets of Hoi An town can be a little daunting at times Yen took great care of us. Yen thought of everything - baby wipes and sanitiser ready at all times - not a conundrum at all Yen! :-)
KKKKKK.....Nothing is more fun than biking around Hoian old beautiful town and try the local in the street. What to concern is your belly, not the food. So many kinds of food everywhere. You may prefer food in restaurants, but I do with street food:) Bánh Xèo, bánh Ướt, bánh Ram Bánh Hỏi, bánh Ướt, Bánh cam, bánh xoài Bánh bột lọc, bánh nậm, bánh bèo Bánh canh, bún gói, bánh tráng thịt heo, cao lầu Phở bò, tái nạm, chả gầu Bún giò, bún mắm, bún chả cá, bún ốc, bún cua Chè đậu xanh, chè đậu ván, chè hạt sen Cháo gà, cháo vịt, cháo cá, cháo mắm dưa, cháo hàu I want to try food of all kinds But my stomach is too small!!! I want o cry ha ha...
Quan was an excellent guide and the whole experience was unexpectedly amazing! We had 6 food stops and each one unique and wonderful. I would recommend Quan and this trip to anyone visiting Hoi An. We had such fun and made memories of a life time 😁
We joined Yen for a street food tour by bike in July 2019. I was pleasantly surprised at how well maintained the bikes were. each bike was pre-adjusted for our heights and Yen also checked on the day. The bikes were pre-packed with a poncho for rain (which we needed), safety helmets and lights. Yen started with a small safety briefing before we headed off to multiple locations to experience local food. Without giving away the itinerary, the experience felt quite personal, with some exclusive stops. We got to experience a range of foods, and Yen was aware of differing food preferences of participants. Yen was engaging in providing commentary to the food or locations we visited, and it is clear she loves the work she does in sharing Hoi An cuisine with tour groups. This tour was the highlight of our entire Vietnam trip, and I can't recommend it highly enough.
Quan was our guide, he was great! His English is very good and he told us a lot. We were lucky to have a privat tour, so we got all the attention. There was a lot of space to ask question, make extra stops for pictures and he made pictures as well, which he shared with us at the end of the tour. On the tour you’ll get typical food of Hoi An. The food is great, Quan explained the food and gave extra information about the owners. He’s really into a conversation! The bike’s were also good, you’ll give you’re height and they make sure the bike fits properly. In the future we’ll probably will book again with grasshopper.
What a fantastic introduction to the amazing town of Hoi An. We literally arrived and went straight to our bike tour. Yen could not have been more welcoming and we were soon on our way with well maintained bikes, lights, water bottles and clear instructions on how to use the gears, brakes and steer our way through the busy traffic It’s a very easy flat ride with lots of stops and amazing to see the countryside that you would not expect to see. We really enjoyed trying to guess the different herbs and vegetables that were growing in the organic local farms and trying some amazing local food. Yen was so entertaining and friendly . Her English is absolutely perfect. It was a very special evening that we will all remember. Would definitely recommend
Quan and the team did an excellent job with our tour. Great bikes, great scenery and just the most amazing food. A great combination of city food stops and magnificent countryside family dining experience. I would definitely recommend this tour to any visitors to Hoi An. Our group ranged in age from 9 to 68 and they did a great job of looking after us. Well done.
Me and my boyfriend (34 and 39) had a great time with the food tour by bike. Our guide, Yen, was awesome - good knowledge, good level of information, very smiling, and a very good English. We were just the two of us, and Yen knew how to make a really good atmosphere with us. Highly recommendable!
We are a family of five - the kids are 16,14 and 8 years old. We went together with our very sweet and competent guide Lyna. She speaks perfectly English, and she is good at explaining the Vietnamese culture and traditions. She gave us a great insight in Vietnamese food culture. We did taste a lot of different food, most of it was delicious, even the teenagers thought it was fun 😉 and they were up to taste the different food. The ride was lovely along the rice field while the sun went down. I found it very interesting to see how they grow and cultivate all the herbs that makes the food taste so good. I can recommend this trip, if you want a wider perspective on the culture and food. You also get to see some places and people you wouldn’t be able to see on your own. So let Lyna give you a taste of Hoi An - it is delicious.
Our guide spoke very good English and was very knowledgeable. The scenery once we got out into the countryside was beautiful and the Cao Lau we ate at a family home was so delicious, all 5 stops were nice but this was the standout. We really liked that the tour started in the daylight and ended at night when all the lights and lanterns are on.
We had such a great time on this tour! Our guide was Lyna and she was excellent at explaining the local herbs and vegetables grown on the farms and all about the food. This is a must do tour in Hoi An!
This tour was amazing, we went through all different areas of Hoi An and it was unreal to try all the different cuisine and see the different lifestyles. Our tour guide Lyna was fantastic. Lyna was very knowledgeable and was more then happy to explain to us all the different aspects of living in Hoi An. I would recommend this tour with Lyna to anybody who wants to experience Hoi An cuisine and visit the different lifestyles in this beautiful city.
And what an adventure it was!! I was fortunate enough to have a solo tour with the wonderful Yen, who made the tour all that better. From in the middle of Hoi An, to riding through the outskirts of the town - even spotting a buffalo! Yen was informative, helpful and very sharing of all the meals :) Yen checked with me through the adventure in regards to how I was going, how was the food and was happy to accommodate any changes that i might have wanted. Our tour ended with a fantastic seafood feast on a local boat. I couldn't have wished for a better way to end my stay in Hoi An. Thanks Yen!
We totally enjoyed the ride through the town and countryside and all the stops in between for food and drinks. Our guide Lyna took good care of us on the busy roads and was thoroughly knowledgeable about the area and culture. Timing was good too, avoiding the heat of the day. We booked online which was easy and straight forward.
We enjoyed our time with Lyna, who is knowledgeable about the area, culture, food and people. We eat vegan and the tour accommodated is, which we appreciated. Some pics enclosed to give you an idea of the tour. We started late afternoon, had a bike during dusk when the local people started coming out again with the cooler night, and into dusk and into the evening, capped with a river side view of Hoi An. Loved it and would recommend!
We had a bicycle tour of Hoi An with Lyna and had the best time ever. The tour group happened to be only my wife and I and we enjoyed the full time with our amazing guide Lyna. She was so knowledgeable of Hoi An culture and heritage and got us excited for everything on the tour. I mostly liked the tour of the village where we toured one of the houses of the people who lived and we sat and ate food from their garden. I would definitely recommend this tour if you have 3 to 4 hours available during your evening. Thank you!
We were guided around the alleys and paddies of Hoi An by the knowledgeable, warm and friendly Quan - an excellent tour guide and all around good person. Learning about the origins and history of cao lầu - pork with rice noodles - in the company of a Vietnamese farming family was an absolute privilege. The dish is steeped in the history of Central Vietnam and watching the greens being plucked from the patch next to you was a real Paddock to Plate experience. I would do the tour again just for this dish. Safety was never a concern, with Quan expertly navigating us through the busy streets of Hoi An, and most of the cycling route being through picturesque rice fields and farm land. I’d recommend doing this trip at the start of your stay because you will want to revisit a lot of the restaurants from the tour - we certainly did.
We had a fabulous time on this bike tour. My second time doing this bike ride and i'd do it again! You get to ride through the back streets through homes/farming villages, and get to see how the locals eat, live, survive and enjoy their down time. Was pleased to see a change in the Banh Mi vendor as the first tour we went on was not your authentic Vietnamese Banh Mi. This time every single food stop was superb! Yen our guide was friendly, full of local knowledge, and you could see all the restaurants and even locals knew her smiley face. Would highly recommend this Hoi An bike tour.
