A fabulous outing with the family, great fun biking, a delicious meal that everyone enjoyed and Bong our guide was very friendly, and easy to chat with. Totally recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This tour was great. Our guide Flora Bong was very knowledgeable and accommodated to our needs well. We got to smell and taste fresh herbs from the garden and our tour ended with an exceptional dinner. Highly recommended
We loved this tour!! Bong was an exceptional tour guide and the bike ride was fun and well paced. The bike tour plus visiting the organic gardens and the Kumquat BBQ restaurant were some of our best highlights of our Vietnam trip.
Starting with a cute boat ride we arrived at the destination of our bike ride which took us through the villages and farm areas of Hoi An. Our guide Nam was knowledgeable and informative and made us feel well looked after as we road past water buffalo’s, fish farms and market gardens, arriving at our dinner destination for a beautiful home cooked meal at a local Vietnamese restaurant using herbs and vegetables from the surrounding farms. Our chef Thanh was entertaining and a master chef! Meal was delicious. A fabulous afternoon spent enjoying a different side of Hoi An. Highly recommend!
Bong took this tour for my wife and I. Her attention to our safety was paramount. The boat trip was enjoyable as was the rural bike ride which was not at all strenuous. The evening meal was preceded by a tour of the gardens where the much of the food was sourced. It was a delicious four course meal. Bong was very knowledgeable and willing to share. It is a thoroughly worthwhile experience!
This is a must do if you’re in Hoi An. Our guide Bong was amazing and made this a really memorable trip. She took us through some great spots, cycling through amazing country side, rural back streets and an organic farm that 300 families collectively farm. A unique, personalised and once in a lifetime experience that you won’t get on group tours.
Beautiful bike ride through the rice fields and vegetable gardens. Our captain Kong then took us on a scenic ride down the river with a more than satisfying BBQ dinner. The highlight was a tie between the beef Bah Mi or pork and tomato skewers. Thanks to Pham for leading our tour.
This was great it was a 10k bike ride being in our 60,s i thought it might bee too much but it is all on flat ground and was no trouble at all. Our tour guide Nam Pham was great he looked after us all the way, riding through the rice fields and all the back lanes we could really see how others lived. We arrived on the boat where the captain cooked the BBQ as we were travelling along the river. The food was great. This is a must do for any age.
Went on this tour with my partner her parents and her brother. Our tour guide Nam was great from the get go my partners parents were a little hesitant about the 13km bike ride but Nam assured us it would be fine...it was for those of you worrying about the distance the bikes are easily pedalled and the terrain is mostly flat! As for the the scenery pedalling through the rice paddies, shrimp farms and local villages with young kids running out to say hello is charming with Nam reiterating that the Vietnamese people are some of the most friendly people on the planet. His knowledge of the local area, farming techniques was a great insight into the resilience of the people. The tour ends on a small fishing/river boat if you have experienced and dined on one of the larger boats with the buffets and entertainment this is the pleasant opposite. Our captain & chef Mr. Rin greeted us with a big smile and welcomed us aboard as we sailed down the river and indulged in pork skewers, grilled shrimp, chicken and finished with a beef Banh Mi (yum) this tour concludes as you sail at sunset into the lantern covered hustle and bustle of Hoi An Ancient Town & is a great way to finish the tour. Highly recommend Nam and the Urban Adventure Team!
Our guide, Nam, navigated us through the ‘busy’ town streets and onto the back roads of Hoi An. He gave a local insight into the growth of the area, passing through the farming communities and out to the boat. After our ride the cruise back down the river to Old Town was welcomed. Highly recommend!
My husband and I loved the bike and cruise tour. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide was so lovely and friendly, and very knowledgeable about the area. Her English was fantastic! It was very interesting to see how the locals live and grow their produce once you get outside the town a little. The cruise with BBQ was such a nice way to finish off the tour, coming into Hoi An old town past all the colorful boats and lanterns was beautiful, and the BBQ was delicious! I was a little worried as I haven't ridden a bike in a few years, but it was an easy ride and our guide made managing the busy traffic easy when necessary.
Our guide was very good and explained what we were seeing very well. The route of the tour was great, taking us outside the city to experience some of the countryside. At the end of the bike ride we stopped for refreshments. The Vietnamese coffee was delicious and very refreshing. We then got on a boat for a sunset cruise and bbq. After a bout of diarrhoea, I was a bit unsure and was very hesitant about eating it. I would recommend to the organisers of this tour to maybe not bother with the bbq and offer a light refreshment instead. This would be easier for the boat driver as he had to cook the food and drive the boat at the same time. All in all an enjoyable tour
My husband and I really loved the bike and boat tour. We had already done another bike tour that morning, and I wasn't sure if my husband would be keen, but it was so calm and pleasant that it made a highlight of an afternoon. The bike part was 12 or 13 k I think they said, but we didn't find it a challenge at all and we're older and not exercise nuts! The guide was very friendly and super safe and ensured that our group navigated any busier spots in safe ways. The boat ride was lovely and the food plentiful and delicious! It was a grand way to spend an afternoon/evening!
The BBQ dinner included in the tour was fabulously fresh and generous with portion size. All grilled on the boat; prawns, chicken, beef and pork.
Our guide Lou was lovely but the tour itself while interesting was not great value for money. One of our party was struck down by the dreaded belly bug and as advertised there was no refund. With the belly issues being so common in travellers I don’t understand why they served a large plate of lettuce cucumber and tomato washed in tap water. We also told them I am acutely allergic to seafood and yet they still used the same utensils for the shrimp and other food. As I said it was super interesting to ride through the rice paddies ( though the 34 degree heat was tricky) and we loved hearing about the farming practices but for $72 per person I reiterate it was expensive.
Had a great day. The cycling trip was excellent. Even though it was hot and humid, we hardly noticed as the countryside was so beautiful. We stopped to look at the abundance of herbs growing in the villages. Later we cruised on the river in a wooden boat. The skipper cooked us a delicious dinner. Thanks to Nam for a great tour and to the skipper of the boat. Lovely people and Nam was very knowledgeable.
Excellent bike ride thru the delta seeing rural life. Started off with boat trip, very good, and then the bike ride. The pace was comfortable and our guide, Bong Pham, was first class.
We were unsure of whether we should even go on our scheduled tour because it had been raining all day. By the time we met Bong, our guide, at our meeting place, the rain had stopped and she assured us that we could cut the bike portion of our trip shorter to avoid any bad road conditions if we needed to. I was a little nervous about getting out of the city on our bikes but Bong took great care to get on wide roads with little traffic. She made sure to use hand signals so we could anticipate where she was going and we even walked our bikes across busy streets. I felt totally safe with her. Out in the country, Bong was a wealth of information about the farmers and fishermen in the area and the way of life in the outlying villages. Her English was very good and she was easy to understand. We met our captain/cook at the river and ditched our bikes for a boat ride and BBQ. The food was really good and there was plenty of it. It was a peaceful time on the river and the ride back to town was beautiful with the lights of Hoi An. This was a wonderful way to experience Hoi An.
We met Bong at the local post office at3pm, where modern bikes and some new friends were waiting. We peddled along with Bong at the front and the mechanic at the back - to ensure no one got left behind. Our group was of mixed capabilities - from very fit to myself who is recovering from a hip replacement . The ride was easy going and flat all of the way. Beautiful countryside and local villagers. After about 1.5 hours of riding we met the traditional fishing boat and had a bbq on board . Plenty of food and got to motor back into town when the sun was setting - fabulous afternoon !
What a great day, flat land, easy ride with great guide. Time to stop & see sights. Safe ride when crossing hectic roads, beautiful country side. Well worth the money.
Bong was an amazing guide, she was very knowledgeable, nice and polite with a true passion for her hometown. We highly recommend this tour and Bong as a guide.
We did a bike and boat tour with Luong in Hoi An This was one of our favourite days Luong is so lovely and easy to talk to. Her English is fantastic and her knowledge of Vietnam and Hoi An is exceptional. The bike ride is super easy - for people worried about fitness do not worry! Just do it You see beautiful countryside at a very slow and comfortable pace. The boat ride back into Hoi An is lovely, just as the sun sets The boat captain cooks you a BBQ with more than enough food You can purchase cool drinks on board. A really fabulous afternoon
It was a lovely way to get through the city and out into the countryside. We rode through farming areas including rice paddies, pastures, vegetable and herb gardens and shrimp breeding ponds. This was sometimes on unmade tracks but quite easy going. The boat ride back into Hoi An with BBQ dinner, arriving at sunset was a great finish to the tour. Bong was a fantastic guide, giving an insight into life in this UNESCO listed village and surrounding area. She was always mindful of my progress on the ride and even showed me her own house which was along the route. Thank you Bong!
Our local guide was Dran. There were two others that joined us on our trip, with a total of four. Though the weather was very hot, the nice breeze we encountered as we rode our bikes in the rice paddies and countryside cooled us down. Dran was very knowledgeable and spoke English very well. The BBQ on the boat was very tasty. This was an excellent tour and would recommend it to anyone!
My two teenage children (14 and 15) and I recall this as one of our highlights of our Vietnam trip. Whilst getting out of Hoi An on our bikes seemed risky to this mother, my kids didn't flinch and riding through the countryside and seeing the farms and villages afterwards made me forget about this. We were able to get close and see things that we would otherwise. The bike ride was through easy terrain and whilst I bike ride regularly, my sister, who is 54 and has not been on a bike for 30 years, also found this easy. The boat ride was super and the BBQ was also lovely - plenty of food - even for my ravenous 15 year old son. The boat ride back in to Hoi An was beautiful!!! Totally recommend this tour for anyone, young or old.
Our group of 4 was joined by 2 others for a fantastic bike ride through the back streets of Hoi An. Although the first part of our ride was through the busier streets I felt safe with our guide Tran leading the way and another guide in the back making sure we were all safe. The sights along the way were fabulous we then had a sumptuous barbecue on board the boat in the river. Although we didn't realize that the barbecue was on the boat it was very relaxing and cool on the river after our bike ride. A big thumbs up to Tran who was extremely helpful and never stopped smiling!
The positives: - The bike tour on countryside was relaxing and perfect for learning some Vietnamese culture. - Long Nguyen was very polite, clear on explanations, and a nice person. It was really 5*. - The BBQ was nice. The food was excellent, and we were really full. The boat driver was excellent. Points of improvement: - Not much to say actually as the tour was nice despite the weather. A small consideration would be to include some refreshments. As the weather was not hot, it was not a big issue, but with 30/40° some water would be perfect. Best regards, Teresa and David
<p>This was a great tour, people were friendly and a great bike ride through the countryside. The river cruise was good and food was excellent.</p>
Booked this tour thinking we’d be getting 3 and half hours of activity but it was much shorter and therefore disappointing. The tour was described as a cycle tour, a cruise and a BBQ on an island. We thought that sounded a great mix with social time at the end to chat with other travellers. However the BBQ was actually on the boat whilst it was moving and you could hardly hear each other speak over the noisy engine. I do totally recommend the bike tour though which was fabulous. The bikes were fairly new and all the cycling was on the flat. Really enjoyed seeing the countryside, the organic vegetable gardens, padi fields etc.
Had a wonderful bike tour and boat ride hosted by our guide Bong. There were two of us along with another couple from Australia. We met at the Urban Outfitters office (I understand the meeting place changes in April or so). The bikes are basic one speed newer bikes and helmets are supplied. Be warned to test out your brakes first. I thought my brakes were pretty soft. Three of the riders had not cycled in quite some time.Being an expert rider is not required. We started on city streets for a short stretch. Hoi An streets are a going concern with a multitude of scooters and cars, all honking and ignoring any rules of the road, if they exist. However shortly afterwards we ventured onto quiet paved paths (albeit with the occasional scooter coming by) and wandered thru rice paddies and along side a river. Stops included an organic farm, wandering beside water buffaloes and along various paths. It really was a pleasure going along these trails. We then went back onto a road that was quite busy as we went past some market. Then back onto quieter paths to the river where we were picked up by a boat and went down the river while we had a simple but tasty BBQ. We were dropped off at Ancient Town. Our guide Bong was wonderful and great at explaining things (we saw peanut plants in the ground - I thought they grew in trees)
We had a great time on this tour with our fun and informative guide Tran. He was an excellent & safe leader assisting us always to safely navigate thru the traffic but thankfully it was all on the back roads. We saw beautifully tended vegetable gardens & rice paddies and had a lovely BBQ dinner on our boat ride back into town centre.
I did two tours with Urban Adventures in Hoi An with my 25 Year old daughter. Bong Bong was our guide on both tours, first by assignment and then by request. I would highly recommend both tours, Walking tour of Old Town with Cooking class with Chef Hung Nguyen Han Le at The Tropics restaurant and the bicycle tour through the country side with night cruise and bbg. Can I just start by saying I’m not really a tour kind of person but I would have missed out on two of the best experiences in my travels. The bicycle tour took us through a beautiful eco farm where everyone had a smile or a cup Of tea for us. So very welcoming. Well organised and Bong our guide and now Friend went above and beyond! Bong was knowledgeable, attentive and always gd a warm , genuine smile In her face. She loved what she does and it shows. Our tour of Old Town took Us through temples, tea shops, homes and then ended with a tour of the local fresh market with Chef Han who then took us to his family restaurant where we cooked a five course meal of Hoi An specialties. When you go to Hoi An and you must go to Hoi An- pick a Your, request Bong and know you’re in for a great adventure!
Thank you to guide Tom for his local knowledge and humour. It was lovely to see the countryside surrounding Hoi An instead of the people and lanterns. The bike tour was wonderful seeing local life and the agriculture in the area. Then followed by a river cruise with fabulous food and sights as we made our way back to Hoi An. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone in the area. It is possible for all levels of fitness and will inspire learning the about the town of Hoi An outside the ‘touristy’ areas.
We had the lovely Tran take us on our amazing bike ride - he is very friendly and knowledgeable - the bikes were great good condition and the ride was an easy 12 kms. We saw heaps along the way stopping at a cumquat grower, shrimp fisherman and my favourite a super old couple who still at the ages of 92 and 95 still work their garden allotments. Finished on a quaint old boat with the boat driver being the chief and some lovely Vietnamese food cooked for us as we cruised back to the old quarters - a great trip - very reasonably priced and a great tour guide - thanks Tran!
<p>Very gentle cycling. Just have to be aware the traffic on the road inbetween country side cycling path. More like village and farm land ride.<br/> Followed with boat trip to ancient town, which is very nice to enjoy beer( not included) and food(included) after cycled. <br/> TBH , a little bit pricey.</p>
<p>Was great experience and lovely county side ride on the bike. Served delicious local cuisine on the boat. Tour guide was informative and friendly.</p>
<p>The tour and our guide ( Lou ) was awesome, the food was good except the prawns but I'm fussy about cleaning the poop out first. </p> <p>Definitely recommend it!</p>
<p>We had a fabulous time doing this bike ride. Luong was our guide and she was brilliant. I will say this is not a trip for unfit people who have not ridden a bike for a while - which was me! Luong looked after me and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The BBQ dinner was fabulous!</p>
<p>Bikes needed maintenance and guide seemed not interested at all. <br/> BBQ on an island? Put onshore and provided with food made on the boat.</p>
<p>It was pouring rain and they did the bike ride anyway, it was not as long as it would have been. It was raining so hard that we couldn't hear anything our guide had to say, so we just slogged along until the boat ride. It was fun, but I don't recommend booking in advance so that you have more flexibility if there is inclement weather.</p>
<p>Had an awesome time on this tour. A lot of fun and the bbq was amazing. Highly recommended!!!</p>
<p>Our guide was really informative and good company. BBQ a highlight</p>
<p>We were very lucky that there were only two of us and our guide. He could not do enough for us and his knowledge is fantastic. The river cruise and barbecue finished the day perfectly. The guide took a great deal of care sheparding us around Hoi Ans busy streets!</p>
<p>Biking was leisurely and included beautiful scenery. Excellent tour guide, friendly, and spoke great English. The dinner was what you may expect on a camping trip; the food was very tasty, but family style servings and some eating with your hands...fun if you know what to expect. Bring water!</p>
<p>The tour was good- Luc the tour guide was fantastic and great value. The BBQ with the sunset was a little pedestrian.. We ate on a muddy bank surrounded by flotsam, detritus and cow manure!! Apart from that a worthwhile trip and the food we had was good.</p>
<p>An excellent tour. Our guide was very good, his English was quite good and easy to understand. The countryside was beautiful and it finished with a delicious barbecue. Sorry that we didn't get our guides name</p>
<p>A great tour! Our tour guide, Luke, was so friendly and showed us some amazing places. Would definitely recommend</p>
<p>Our guide Ha was THE best! It was fun to see the countryside by bicycle - even as a solo tourist. Ha was conversational and a true professional. The boat ride was nice and the BBQ was a FEAST -- don't make the mistake and eat before!</p>
<p>Definitely would not recommend this to anyone. No helmets supplied (despite this being on the voucher), rode through busy street in town at start of ride (which was not planned as we had young children on this tour and booked this for a "countryside bike tour through rice fields") then got on a small boat for a 'riverside cruise and BBQ' (on an uninhabited riverbank opposite where the bike ride ended with no hand washing or toilet facilities and food cooked on a portable pot of coals on the riverbank). Only drinks available with dinner were beers as we had used up our one bottle of water already (mostly to wash our hands). Then had to re-board the boat for a 40 minute ride back to Hoi An with NO LIGHTS - at night! Luckily we found the humour in the situation and made it home in one piece. <br/> We have done other bike tours in other countries that were the highlight of our trips, but this was memorable only because of how bad it was. Our kids joked we were never going to survive the night and, judging by the non-existent safety and hygiene standards, this may have been a possibility. <br/> Both our guide and the boat driver were trying their hardest but this tour is not at all the professional standard we have come to expect from Viator.</p>
<p>Great time and great to see a little of the countryside. Our only comment was that when you book ....and you print the receipt it states that you must reconfirm. This is tough and somewhat confusing since we paid the day before. So when we showed up at the Google Cafe no one was there. That is when I read the fine print about reconfirming. When I called the number on the receipt no one answered. Fortunately the chef who was at the cafe called Zoom Zoom and we were on our way....albeit 20 minutes later. Richard</p>
