A fantastic private tour with a wonderful local guide called Emily. Her knowledge of the My Son site was excellent and she took her time to explain everything to us. We were collected on time and the transport was a modern car driven by Nam. Thank you team a great afternoon exploring.

Itinerary
My Son Sanctuary, located 40 kilometers west of Hoi An, is Vietnam’s most significant archaeological site from the ancient Champa Kingdom. Between the 4th and 13th centuries, this area was home to a unique culture deeply influenced by Indian Hinduism. The sanctuary features an impressive array of tower-temples that served as the religious and political heart of the Champa Kingdom for most of its existence. Set in a lush valley and surrounded by majestic mountain ranges, My Son was designated a UNESCO Cultural Heritage site in 1999. Originally built from wood, many of these structures were destroyed by fire in the 6th century. They were later restored in the 7th century by Sambhuvarman, who utilized locally made bricks for reconstruction.
By the 13th century, over 70 temples had been erected, establishing My Son as a major center of Hinduism in the Champa Kingdom. Today, the sanctuary stands as a remarkable architectural ensemble, showcasing a blend of art, spirituality, and political significance. Visitors to My Son can explore this captivating site, gaining insight into the rich history and cultural heritage of Southeast Asia during a transformative era. Footwear Recommendation: Comfortable walking shoes are recommended due to the uneven terrain and walking involved in exploring the site.

Emily was fantastic today - we had a great afternoon. She was very knowledgeable and ensured we all had a good time visiting the My Son Sanctuary.
The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Being in a small group with total of 5 people was helpful. The van was very comfortable. Worth the half day trip.
Good trip, good guide. Booked a trip with 16 people max and ended up being just the two of us and the guide and driver. Was direct to the site and back, there isn't tonnes of info at the site but the old temples are interesting to explore and look around and also a dancing show at the end.
What a great day e had. Mot ( Tom ) was a well informed humorous fun guide. With a great knowledge of the local area. Highly recommend
Couldn’t have asked for a better tour! Mr. Mot (Tom) is probably the funniest & most knowledgeable guide in Hồi Ăn. From local recommendations to stories, you get the full experience traveling with the guy. 10/10 would recommend. Good word? 😉
We experienced a fantastic adventure at the Sanctuary of My Son in Hoi An, one of the most ancient and charming site in Vietnam. Our talented and keen guide Thao, led us across the site history and its mysterious ways, letting us to discover and understand its real secrets. Really friendly and helpful, both from professional skills and human aspects. Very recommended and suggested!! Michela e Cristina
We had a great tour with a really friendly and personable guide called Vin. He was extremely knowledgeable about the ruins and about the history of the area, giving us lots of extra information and bringing the ruins to life. Would really recommend if you are in Hoi An for a few days!
Contacted the night before by email and message at front desk of hotel to confirm times & pick up.Picked up from our hotel at the time stated relatively new mini bus with air conditioning. Bus held 12 only 6 on tour. Cold water provided. Scenic drive out to My Son with the guide pointing relevant points of interest as we drove to site (about 90 mins). The site was empty on our arrival (just before Covid 19 hit a number of countries had already stopped their nationals travelling). The site is small but worth seeing. We had to take an electric bus up to the site from the car park I would have preferred to walk as it was less than a mile. The guide was very informative and answered any questions brought up by the group. We had nearly 2 hours walking around and then back on the bus to Hoi An. We asked to be dropped in the Old town not at our hotel which the driver and guide facilitated. We had considered renting a scooter and making our own way there but it is quite a considerable distance, the weather very hot, traffic intimidating and roads are not always hard surfaced. Worth the money
I really enjoyed this tour - not only because it was full of historical significance but I wasn’t sold anything to. We did the tour with another couple and managed to avoid the large groups. Because of this, we were able to be flexible with our time at the various sites that we visited. I think the cultural performance at the end was a little boring - perhaps too long especially as there is quite distance to cover to get back to the exit from that point. MySon is a must visit - better than Ba Na Hills (shock, gasp - yup, I said it)
We did this tour as part of a group of 8. We found it well-organised. We managed to arrive fairly early on the site. The driver was safe and the bus was ok. And most important: the tour guide was very good, informative, with a good command of English. We found the price attractive. Very happy with our half day in My Son.
A great afternoon had by myself, my wife and my two boys (5 & 7 y/o). Very cost effective and Eric was very knowledgeable & friendly.
Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgable. My partner and I were joined by another traveller for the tour maintaining the private feel of it. As with any tourist spot the later you arrive the busier it gets however this did not spoil my experience. We arrived just in time for the performance and then had as long as we needed to explore the site with our guide giving us information prior to entering and being on hand for any questions we had.
This morning we went to the My Song sanctuary using Hoi An Express. They were clear with their communication over WhatsApp and I knew what to expect with the booking - drop off and pick up. Our guide Nam, was wonderful. She had so much knowledge about the ruins. We were the first car to arrive in the morning (we would highly recommend getting the 7:30am tour), there were no tourists around when we first arrived and took photos and walked the ruins without interruption. Nam then took us to a dance theatre where we watched a traditional dance show, then walked the ruins again. Nam had incredible knowledge of Hinduism in Vietnam, significance of different symbols in the temples, the materials of the temples and the impact of the American War. She was great to talk to and she answered all the (many!) questions we had. We really enjoyed our morning with Nam. If you can, we would highly recommend requesting her as your guide!
Well worth spending half a day to see this place. Despite many of the structures being damaged or destroyed during the American War, there is enough left standing to allow you to appreciate the majesty of the site. Our guide was knowledgeable and helped us to understand what we were seeing. The place is very busy though, so best not to expect a peaceful experience. I would have appreciated if the guide had warned us that we were leaving the main area, as we suddenly found ourselves on the electric bus on the way to the entrance. I would have liked to have taken a few more pictures before getting on the bus. But overall, it was worthwhile.
The 7.30 tour was a great way to beat the heat and crowds. Our guide was very friendly, funny and knowledgeable. I thoroughly recommend this tour.
Had a nice afternoon at the my son Ruins. Our Guide Jesmine was very nice And friendly, Gave us Lots of Information and also helped us with our Further travelplans.
My family and I chose this tour based on previous reviews and were not disappointed. The tour operator was efficient and everything went to plan. Our guide River was very knowledgeable and had an excellent sense of humour. The sanctuary was amazing and a must see if you are visiting the area. We all really enjoyed this tour.
River was very friendly and was very knowledgeable. Enjoyed seeing the ruins. Interesting to visit, and learn about some history.
Booked this tour last minute, Eric our guide had a lot of knowledge, answered questions and was super friendly, he also helped us dodge the crowds, recommend the morning tour if you want to mostly avoid the large crowds that arrive around 10am.
We loved this tour! Our tour guide milk made our day. Milk is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He is also an expert photographer. Milk speaks very good English and is easy to understand and have a conversation with. Hein was our driver and he was very friendly. Also, the food was delicious. They were very flexible and dropped us off at the old town instead of our hotel at the end of the day so we could make it to our cooking class on time.
Very good guide, usually UNESCO sites are always so interesting and this maintained the reputation. Enjoyed seeing the temples and the beautiful valley.
We loved our half day visit to my son. Our tour guide pham vàn tuán was lovely and funny and full of knowledge which was a bonus to the views you will see. We would say this is a must do! It was pretty hot so would advise a hat and sunscreen and some extra water if you decide to book!
Mr Minh was great as a guide he was ex maths teacher and very precise Mi Son was great for morning visit really interesting how the Indian religion expanded to so many places Smaller version of Angkor Wat but has bomb damage
We were unaware of the history of My Son, and appreciated her knowledge. Having a personal guide was so helpful. The drive to get there was also enjoyable
We had a private tour and our guide knew a lot of history about the Sanctuary. It was an extremely hot day, remember to take extra water and take some breaks between the different sites. Awesome photo opportunities.
My wife and I booked Hoi An Express for a very early morning tour (4.45am at our hotel - good time to beat the heat!) of the historic My Son temples just 45 minutes from Hoi An. It was one of our very best experiences we have had so far during our 3 weeks in Vietnam, made all the more special by our personal guide, her name is Snow. She was so friendly, happy and informative, and spoke very good English as well. We didn’t feel rushed during our two hours at My Son, and learned more from Snow about the temples and local Vietnamese customs than any other time in Vietnam:-) Thank you for the great tour Snow and also a big thanks to our friendly driver Vu got us there safely:) John and Fatima
Great experience with the agency! We booked a trip to My Son and had very good guide named Bit? They picked us at the time they said they will come. Very satisfied. We also booked a shuttle bus to the airport, we changed the time of departure twice because of rescheduled flight and they responded quickly to arranged us new shuttle bus. I recommend you the agency.
Had a fantastic afternoon with Huong. Ended up just the two of us, with him guiding us both around My Son. An incredible sight to see and experience, and Huong had incredible knowledge about the history and religion of the sanctuary that we wouldn’t have had otherwise. Highly recommend to anyone else to visit!
I bought half day tour from agent around old town with USD 9 (plus USD 7 for entering at My Son she told this price included bus and boat for returning to Hoi An together with lunch on boat, snack and drink. Everything went ok, just very big group (2 buses and only one tour guide). And the tricky was, he didnt give you a drink at first place that was ok until had lunch, when people asked for drink, he came with beer and soft-drink for sale usd 1 that was still ok but after people bought the drink, the last he gave a free one bottle of drinking water....... what the.... Cheaper might be good but I recommend you pay more USD10 with more good service
Thanks to Eric in the Daily Tour Team at Hoi An Express. From the second we booked this tour online, everything about the company was highly professional. The app and vouchers were easy to use and the reminder emails helpful. Our guide, Eric, was funny, well informed and interesting. He was happy to go at our pace which really suited my 7, 11 and 14 year old children. The transport to and from My Son was very comfortable as the van had air conditioning and wifi
There are more than 70 architectural works of brick and stone in the middle of nature dedicated to kings and Hindu deities. It was the most important center of the Champa kingdom and its civilization. There are about 3 different dances with girls and men under a roof and chairs with fans. The truth is that the show is not worth much but once you have to drive 3 hours non-stop from Hoi An, well, well.
We had a completely exotic time, immersed in the history and traditions of a lost empire. The My Son sanctuary, listed as a UNESCO heritage site in 1999, brings together the ruins of several temples and relics of the ancient Champa Kingdom. A cult place hidden in the mountains, absolutely worth visiting in a small group. Breathtaking, we are delighted and recommend this half-day expedition, with return journey included, which greatly facilitates accessibility to the site, located just an hour from Hoi An. The very comfortable minibus picked us up directly from the hotel at the agreed time. The guide, Sang, is very friendly and speaks good English. The explanations given are interesting. The My Son Shrine is, however, a rather disappointing place due to its size: a short hour is enough to go around, including explanations. It is a pity that Da Nang had to make a detour on the way back to drop off other participants before going to Hoi An, which is an extra 30 minutes drive unscheduled.
To begin with, the car picked us up at the time of the meeting at our hotel. Luckily we were treated to a private car with the driver and guide only. Eric our guide was perfect before during and after visiting the site.
You can see the ruins that were destroyed by the Americans in the jungle. Get off the bus, enter the building, When they put me in an electric car, An American tourist is in Jurassic Park! He laughed and said, "I'm sorry. I walk a lot. I think it's hard in hot weather. It also bites insects. Rainwater had pooled after the bomb and turned into a pond. After that we got on a boat and broke up at the night market. It was good to see the side of Hoi An just arrived efficiently in half a day.
We were picked up by Snow, who shone mainly through annoying nonsense small talk both during the ride and on the terrain. Her demeanor was really exhausting and provoked aggression from the whole group. The information about the temples was fine but also patchy. More precise information could be obtained via the notice boards. Would not recommend this tour with this agency. The My Son facility itself is definitely worth seeing! (And the butterflies on the way to the exit were really fantastic)
We participated in this excursion to a beautiful site. Our only regret: not speaking enough English to understand all the explanations in the guide.
