Great way to see Hue! We are glad we hired a private guide and driver. Tam was an awesome guide, teaching us so much about the history and culture of the area and answering all of our questions. Tai was a great driver, navigating through Hai Van Pass safely on the way back with photo opportunities. The lunch spot was delicious too. Very happy with our choice to book this tour, would highly recommend it!

Itinerary
Hai Van pass is one of the most scenic hillside roads in Vietnam where you can see green trees in contrast to waves in the blue sea. On the top of the pass, there are the vestiges of long ago, fortified gateway. The American and French bunkers in Hai Van pass provide broaden views for the city without any steep climb. At the peak a small rest station is where the tour from Hue to Hoi An takes break welcomes visitors with local and coffee on offer.
Just 60 km from Hue, on the tour is the serene fishing township of Lang Co. The incredible Lang Co beach was recognized in 2009 as one of the 30 most beautiful bays in the world with the sloping sea, fine and clean sand, great moderate wave. Visitors can sample the local seafood on the water at the restaurant at the end of walkways hovering over the water. Hence, there are some water sports offered for you to enjoy.
Taking a view afar, the village looks like a strip of silk winding between Phu Gia Pass in the north and Hai Van Pass in the south. Verdant trees, crystal clear waters, especially the image of the cloud covering the mountains makes the village fascinating and glamorous
Different from the traditional architecture, Khai Dinh tomb was built with modern materials such as steel and reinforced concrete under the Western influences. The tomb is accessible by climbing 127 steps which are bounded by dragon banisters. Getting upstairs, you can see the house of epitaph, and many statues of mandarins, horses, soldiers… at the courtyard
The Hue Citadel is one of the most well-known destinations in Hue and was recognized by UNESCO as the World Cultural Heritage. The whole palace complex consists of three parts: The first part is Citadel which was built from 1805 to 1832, through time and war, it still maintains original nearly 140 small and large constructions. The Citadel was built for defensive purposes. The second part is Imperial City, the most important part of the citadel, built from 1804 to 1833 under Minh Mang King’s reign, Imperial City includes more than 100 architectural works for royal palaces and shrines and it was for the worship and ceremony purpose. The last part is Purple Forbidden City, built in early 1803 under Gia Long King’s reign. The Purple Forbidden City was served for the King and the royal family. The Citadel is one of the symbols of Hue city and a must visit place for anyone coming to Hue.
According to a legend, Lord Nguyen Hoang dreamt about a lady who said that the Lord would come and build this pagoda for prosperity of the country, believing in the Lady’s words, Lord Nguyen Hoang ordered to build this pagoda and named it Thien Mu pagoda which means “Heaven Lady”. Located on Ha Khe Hill, 5km away from the city, Thien Mu Pagoda is the most fascinating and ancient pagoda considered as one of the symbols of Hue City.

Hieu was very informative and took us through several different sites in Hue. The food was delicious at the lunch stop. And the transportation was very comfortable.
Enjoyed seeing the history of Vietnam’s kings and beautiful palace grounds and tomb. Stopped by incense village and tried my hand at making an incense stick. Visited beautiful pagoda and temple with important historical significance. Enjoyed lovely lunch. Tour guide Ruby did a fantastic job!
Don't miss this experience. Great itinerary, a fabulous guide (Dat) and patient and experienced driver (Tam). Lunch location was delicious and also excellent.
Great tour guide who was very helpful and attentive. Learned a lot and really got to experience Hue in a short day trip.
Hue is a lovely town with a lot of history. The monuments and Imperial City were amazing. The driver was polite and safe. The car was clean. The tour guide Ruby was just amazing. She was courteous and knowledgeable. She really wanted me to enjoy the tour. She even brought a raincoat and little rain booties for me. Ruby shared both historical details but also information about the culture. She was an open, sweet, highly intelligent person and it was delightful to spend the day with her in this amazing city. She also took me to a local restaurant to try foods special to Hue. She really wanted me to try the salt coffee and that was super-fun to go to the coffee shop. The only issue is Hue is quite far from Hoi An and I did not realize that. Better from Da Nang.
We were super disappointed in the way BNT tour operator had organised and did not communicate anything until the night before of the tour only until I had reached out. The fact that there was no communication up till the night before the tour was very disappointing. With the trip to Hue being 3 hours one way, it was an awkward ride. BNT stated in their tour itinerary that there will be an English speaking driver howerever this is false advertising. The sight seeing places to stop over could have been better in the sense if there was a coffee shop to stop by or other options of scenery. BNT operator should also advertise the hours travelling by car takes as nowhere did it stipulate 3 hours until I was informed the night before the tour. BNT did not pass on the tour guide contact details to me so I could not plan or ask the guide and inform her in advance of the food requirement for lunch due to medical reasons. As a result we had to remove a few items off the list. We were very grateful that she was able to tweak some of the menu with the restaurant in such short timing. The restaurant we went to was super accomodating and the food was delicious. The highlights of the tour was the Tomb and Imperial city and the tour guide Trinh was absolutely amazing and accommodating. Her knowledge on the history around the Dynasty and Imperial City was absolutely enriching to hear. Heading back to the hotel we were informed that we would take a shorter route which was around the 2.5 hour mark. This ended up being 3 hours and 20 minutes. Overall the actual tour with Trinh in Hue City and the food were fantastic. BNT representatives lack of communication and false advertising resulted this tour down to two stars.
Just having that personalised one on one experience made this very long day trip worth it. Miss Trinh was extremely knowledgeable and had great English. She was SUPBERB! She went out of her way to ensure I had a memorable trip to Hue. Out of all the Viator tours I did this holiday this was by far the best!
Great company. Lots of communication. Tom arrived early and gave us a great tour with lunch. Outstanding! Communication is key when doing these tours. This is the company you want!
The drive from Da Nang through the Hai Van Pass was amazing, Lapan Lagoon was a very picturesque little place we stopped for loads of pictures, met our guide Tom in Hue, very friendly, knowledgeable and personable. On to the citadel, what an amazing place to visit, then on to the Pagoda and Tombs, great day learnt a lot about Vietnam.
Excellent tour-guide and driver were both brilliant and we learned so much about the sights of Hue. A must do!
BTN Travel Vietnam kept in constant contact with us and confirmed our 8am pick up from our hotel in DaNang. Our Driver for the day Ngoc arrived promptly on time and safely transported us to Hue with a few stops on the way for photo opportunities. On the out skirts of Hue we were joined by our tour Guide Sang, what a charming character he was. He went out of his way to ensure our time in Hue was a very memorable experience for us both , he also ensure a special Lunch at a restaurant he knew. It was a long day , but one we will always remember. Put it on your bucket list
This tour was excellent. Sang was a great, funny, kind and his English was the best of any tour guide we have had so far in Vietnam. The driver picked us up in Danang on time and was nice with limited English. The ride was beautiful and a stop for pictures and a later stop with a clean bathroom was great. I didn’t know what to expect from the tour except the citadel, but both the Tomb and the pagoda were great. I am going to have to read more Vietnamese history. The pagoda gives a glimpse into the life of a monk, so that was neat. Sang did an excellent job on the Citadel tour. My two teens were very impressed. The restaurant was excellent and it was so nice to have the food picked out for you in a sample platter. I would definitely recommend this tour and Sang specifically. If you are interested in Vietnam war history, take the DMZ tour…maybe someday we will be back for that.
This trip was perfect from beginning to end. The helpful company office support whats apped us with pictures and details for our trip the day before and was on hand if we needed (although we didn’t have wifi until we returned to our hotel so hadn’t known that!) Our driver was friendly and let us stop when we wanted for pictures and toilet breaks. He also really looked after us with a vast supply of water and relieving aircon in the car. Our local guide Son was knowledgeable, friendly and very personable. He showed us the sights and taught us so much including some stories from his own family and culture. As part of our honeymoon we wanted a trip that was just for us and that’s exactly what we got. We could not recommend more highly!
We did the say trip from Hue to Hoi An. Kin was our tour guide and he was fantastic! Great driving, showed us where to go at each stop, very friendly and knowledgable. 100% reccomend!
I booked 2 trips with BNT Travel by private car from Hoi An to Hue and Hue to Da Nang. My booking was through Ms Cheryl. She is professional and quick in responding to my requests. The booking process was very smooth. Our first driver was Mr Kin. His driving was very smooth and skilful. We felt safe and did not feel any motion sickness although we drove through winding mountainous roads. Our second driver was Mr Bi. He too is a very safe driver and also very knowledgeable and helpful.
I like to research on my own on places to see but Ms.Tam still outperform me by suggesting those hidden gems. Car is ontime, meals included at great eateries, guide is knowledgeable & everything went great. I also missed out the original plan with a couple of hours gap, Ms. Tam suggest another place to visit to close the gap and made the arrangement so that the trip itself is free, I just need to pay the entrance ticket.
Thank you so much Tam for arranging this wonderful trip ... also thanks to Duy for driving and guiding at different places .. BNT travels from Hui very delighted ...thank you again 😊
I booked private trip to Da Nang airport to Da Nang airport including Hue & Hoi An. In Hanoi I also booked group tour for Halong Bay & Ninh Binh. Thanks to BNT travel & Ms Tam for the wonderful arrangement & friendly service. She helped me 24hr. Whenever I messaged her, got prompt reply in any issues. And I booked it online base on review in trip advisor. Really enjoyed the trips with my family. You can trust BNT, you can trust Ms.Tam.
Im having great trips at Da Nang, Hue & Hoi An. Thanks to BNT travel & Ms Helen for the wonderful arrangement & friendly service. Really enjoy the trips with my family. Recommended!
Wonderful experience! Great communication with Ms Tam - BNT travel agent as well as the assigned drivers which makes us feel very safe, secured and comfy throughout the trip. Highly recommended!
We traveled with Mr Nguyen from Hoi An to Hue and loved it so much we booked again for the private city tour around Hue the next day. Mr Nguyen spoke great English and was able to tell us about sights along the way. He arrived early each day and the car was spotlessly clean. I couldn’t recommend more — reliable, friendly service guaranteed!!
A really nice trip. John, our driver, was very helpful and we got to see all the places we wanted from Hoi An to Hue. The only bad thing was the weather, but we can't blame John for that.
We were worried about the rain, but fortunately we left it in Hoi An founding the sun in Hue. Mr. Tim our driver, has been very attentive, safe driving and took care of us for the entire trip. "Tomato" our tourguide waited for us in Hue. She is so sweet! Very happy to have known her. Very good knowledge of the Vietnam history and art. It was a real pleasure to have many conversations with her! Thank you Tomato so much! And last thing the food during our lunch was one of the best of all our holiday! Do not esitate to book with BNT travel!
John from BNT Travel has picked us up from Danang airport and we have started our 2 days journey in Hue City. We truly enjoyed the 2 days with John. John is polite, puntual, knowledgeable and able to share where are good photospot for photo taking and good food! In short, if you would like to visit vietnam, request for John, you will not be disappointed
Pickup from Hoi An was on time and in a comfortable car. Driver was very friendly and courteous. Stopped in lots of interesting places on the way to Hue for some sightseeing and photo opportunities. In Hue we met up with our personal guide named Hoe aka “Tomato” who was very friendly and well educated and spoke very good English. She showed us around all the sights in Hue including the Imperial City high was incredibly interesting! Highly Recommended.
Punctual pick-up at the hotel at 8 am. Very Nice ride by the hai van pass and stops with great views to make pictures. In Hue very good tour with Fi with An extraordinary dinner at noon. In all a great, yet tiring, day and a very Good way to get to know Hue!
We were on our last full day in Vietnam, and after a week and a half of seeing this beautiful country, we failed to book a trip from Da Nang to Hue. FOMO set in hard when we woke up, so we decided to try to find somewhere that could get us on the road in an hour and a half. I wrote in to BNT to see if they could help us, and Tam sent me a message within 10 minutes. She was so lovely right from the get go, asking what we wanted, then provided a quote and itinerary. The driver picked us up at 8:30, and was very professional the entire day. Hue is a beautiful city, and after doing a couple of tours in HCMC and Da Nang, it was nice to see what we wanted on our own schedule without waiting for other people (we saw a few large groups on the drive to Hue and were very thankful we didn't stop where we stopped for more than about 15 minutes each). Tam also arranged for us to go to Hoi An to pick up our suits before taking us back to our hotel near Da Nang (for a reasonable extra cost). Couldn't recommend BNT any more. Hope you have a great time in Hue!
My partner and I booked a trip from Hoi An to Hue very late the night before we wished to travel. BNT were very accommodating and recommended a great days activities based around our schedule. Den, our driver, was extremely friendly stopping at great spots to take photos. Car was very clean and comfortable and Den was very patient and had no problems with my partner and I spending long periods of time at each attraction. I would recommend both BNT as a company and Den as our driver to anyone wishing to do the same (or similar tour).
It all went very well. Because it was our first time to make a several-hour drive, we were expectant, but the driver drove safely and carefully. The only thing that would improve would be if he could communicate better in English. Our guide in Hué spoke well English, was very active and well disposed, available. We really liked it. ;)
Excellente visite.
At lunchtime, superb restaurant of REAL local specialties at lunchtime, very nice guide with interesting anecdotes. Splendid trip from Hoi An....you can go there with your eyes closed thanks to Ms Chau who organizes efficiently and responsively all there logistics.
