The drive from Hoi An to Hue was awesome, beautiful scenary all around. It was very interesting to learn about the History of Vietnam , the last emperor and the Royal dynasty. So was the visit to Pagoda. Our guide Ray Nguyen explained every thing and the driver was safe and drove carefully.

Depends on the weather or construction, we will inform for you that stopping here or not. Hai Van pass Vietnam is recognized as one of the world's top ten most beautiful coastal roads. This pass is not only connected with numerous historical events, but it is also a wonderful place for many travelers due to its spectacular and artistic beauty that captivates everyone’s heart. The perilous death curve, together with zigzag roads, will create a challenging trek for backpackers and bring incredibly unique experiences.
Then stop in Lap An lagoon, here is well-known for Pearl village that made from oyster farm. Take a rest here for a short time.
Lunch at local restaurant. Enjoy foot massage 15 minutes after/before lunch (special offer) Afternoon visit some attractions such as Thien Mu Pagoda, the first pagoda of Viet Nam
Khai Dinh King tomb is one of King tombs, royal tomb of Nguyễn Dynasty Khải Định's tomb's surface area is much smaller than the tombs of his predecessors. However, the building itself is far more elaborately designed than others of its era, being a mix of a number of architectural styles. The tomb is of a rectangular structure leaning against Chau Chu Mountain in the outskirts of Huế. The side walls are formed by the biggest sculptures of dragons in all of Vietnam.
Hue is one of the most popular destinations for visitors to Vietnam. Straddling the Perfume River, this mysterious, somber city is a historian's dream come true, with numerous 19th century ruins, royal tombs and an excellent museum. The tour guide, Cong, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the subject. I’ve learned a lot from him about Vietnam. Thanks.
Informative. Was a long day but worth it.
Sam was our guide. He was wonderful. He’s from that area so he gave us a lot of information. We had a great group and saw a lot of wonderful things like the beautiful views, the citadel, imperial Palace, pagoda by the river, oyster farming, and we had a wonderful lunch
In one day you get to see all the highlights. You don't spend a lot of time at any of the places visited, but enough to see them and move on. If I were to do it again I would probably spend a night in Hue and find a tour that goes more in depth. The time travelling back and forth from Da Nang really takes a chunk out of the time for sightseeing. We enjoyed and learned a lot but next time I would rather take the train all the way up to Hue. Spend the day and night and maybe get a driver back.
Great tour with Cong. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Hue. I'm so happy to have done the tour and great guide. The day was hot 🔥 🥵 but I got great views and photos
The guide was very helpful and knowledgeable and provided a very good explanation it sometimes a little log and repetitive. He did not mind you wandering off or taking photos and gave you plenty of time at all places we visited. I have problems with steps and he just let me take everything in my own time no pressure to keep up. The lunch was amazing, my only criticism is that there was only one stop through the Hai Van Pass and not in a very good place, would have to have had more stops for photos going through the Pass. But it was a very good day out.
Excellent tour and well worth it. Made especially good by a knowledgeable and delightful tour guide Miang. It was very hot and the tour provided several bottles of icy cold water, which was appreciated by all.
Wonderful tour but not enough time to enjoy all the sightseeing. Great guide with perfect history knowledge. Thank you for the unforgettable experience!
So well organized and engaging, despite the heat. Mian had clear and concise communication throughout which made our first time journey risk free. Be sure to look out the window there and back as there's lots to see.
The agency is flexible, helpful and reliable. I picked up this tour for both the sightseeing and the transportation from Hoi An and Hue. They happily agreed to drop me off at Hue at the hotel I chose. I exchanged some mail with the agency, to discuss the detail, and their response was always prompt. They picked up me and my suitcase at the hotel in Hoi An and drop me off at Hue around 3:30, which gave me some time to have a walk along the river in the evening. The guide Mien, with her fluent English, helped make our tour interesting and entertaining.
We loved this trip! We were a bit daunted by the thought of 10 hours but we saw so much and our guide Hue was so informative we had an amazing day. And lunch was a Vietnamese banquet of very delicious treats. Definately worth the money.
I liked the friendliness and professionalism The arrangements for lunch were very good and I had a fun day full of culture and beautiful landscapes
Full day tour from Hoi An. The views from Hai Van pass were great then a nice stop at Lap an logoon for short visit to fishing village and coffee break. Then onto Hue to visit the impressive Citadel. Lunch was really good. Finally to pagoda and royal tomb before heading home. Both our guides were informative and helpful.
A great way to visit Hue and be told about its history. The places you visit are fantastic and a must see when visiting Vietnam
The places visited were not so exciting. The guide talked a lot, often in the full sun. The van used for transport was uncomfortable. The trip was too long for me.
The tour was good. The pickup was timely, and the Guide explained everything in detail. We are vegetarians, and they provided a good vegetarian lunch in the restaurant. The guide explained everything in detail and answered all our questions. I highly recommend it.
Recommended - but be prepared for a long day. This was a terrific tour, but it does take about 12 hours all up (when doing it out of Hoi An) so be prepared for a very full day. But that aside, the tour was great and very informative. The trip to Hue (plus the various stops along the way) was great and gave a real insight into some of the culture, living standards and history of Vietnam. Definitely worth taking.
Booking problem: I booked the tour through a social networking app called Zalo and contacted the manager personally. Everything was booked and I even checked to confirm the trip the day before, but on the scheduled day - No Show. The manager didn't even pick up when I tried to call her but later that day she got in touch and it was rearranged the next day. Luckily I was able to rearrange my plans to fit it in. Highlight: The tour guide Trang kept the trip interesting. She was hospitable, caring and good at time management to make sure we got back on time and that there was no wasted time hanging out around or that we stayed at place for too long. Disappointments: The lunch could have been specialties of Hue like Bun Bo Hue or something else from Hue but instead it was a general asian meal. It wasn't bad but I would have liked to have tried food from Hue. The places you visit, for me, weren't anything special or interesting, a tomb, a pagoda and a huge ancient old palace but I can't blame the tour operator for that!
Our guide was terrific — knowledgeable with great energy. The three sites were good, especially the tomb. The problem with the tour — and this isn’t the tour’s fault — is that Hue is about 3 hours from Hoi An, so it’s a very long drive. (If you’re in Danang, the drive is two hours, which is definitely more manageable.) On the way there, you stop in two spots with beautiful views, On the way back, it’s a straight three hours without even so much as a bathroom break. Visiting the three sites is definitely a bit rushed. I don’t mind that — I move quickly — but others might feel a bit shorted. I just don’t know that two of the three sites warranted a three-hour drive. The citadel, though beautiful, is mostly rebuilt and not original. The pagoda is very pretty, but not much different than others in Vietnam. The tomb, however, was the one site that was worth the drive. The lunch stop was a highly rated restaurant in Hue with a set meal. It was solid for a tour meal, but not overly spectacular or interesting. I was glad that this tour didn’t stop anyplace where they push tourists to buy things. This was solely viewing the historical sites and two nice viewpoints. With the two viewpoints along the drive, please be aware that they may not stop along that route if the weather is bad.
A great day and an amazing experience. The drive to Hue was breathtaking and the sites visited a wealth of visual delights.
This trip was just amazing. Our guide and driver were fantastic and not only did we get a great history lesson but saw so many amazing sites all in one day. It wasn’t a rushed experience and we had time to take it all in. Highly recommend this tour for anyone with a family and teenagers.
A great day trip to Hue, visiting 3 sites of the ancient city. Lunch was nice. Tom, our tour guide was quite knowledgeable as a local from Hue. Something I haven't seen mentioned in previous reviews. The road to Hue is over some mountain passes. If prone to motion sickness, take an anti-nauseant pill. If you have children with you, take a sick bag (a little girl got sick on our tour but her parents were very prepared!). The weather was rainy, and some surfaces were tile, which can be quite slippery. Take your time navigating safely. We were given water at the end of the tour, it would have been nice to have been given that at the start. Recommended for those wanting more information about Vietnam history.
Even though the tour seems long and takes a lot if you come from Hoi An, it was worth to see and experience how the imperial city looked like
I loved this tour, mainly because I am interested in nature, active conservation of important sites, and religious history. There’s a lot of walking involved, so be prepared for this. (I’m a young 70 and “just” coped.) Our guide, Tin Tin, was extremely supportive of me in this regard. The tour includes a full lunch at the restaurant of a local family. Just delicious - and plentiful! Highly recommended for people who are keen to learn about preservation of relics. The detail in some of these relics provides fertile ground for photographers interested in macro shots. Thank you Tim Tin. Your are a genuinely lovely person.
If you are two or more people you are probably better off hiring a car and/or guide for the day. Due to bad weather we couldn't see the pass on the trip which is obviously not their fault but you are then dumped for 30mins in a perl sales showroom under the pretense of a 'toilet break'. The weather by the end of the day was fine so it would have been nice to do the pass then instead. The lunch was fine but nothing special. The guide was pleasant but to be honest her English speaking accent was quite hard to understand. This being my first tour I thought this was just a 'standard' accent but I could listen into other local guides who were much clearer. My opinion, having spent some time now in Vietnam, is that the price of the tour should be about half what they are charging. Others may disagree.
Great one day tour in Hue, visiting the Forbidden City, and the Tomb of the Emperor. Engaging guide, once you tuned into his accent, whose knowledge was impressive. He painted a word picture of times past in the Forbidden City. Waited on by eunuchs, serviced by 1000 concubines. Great job if you can get it.The mosaic Palace was mind blowing and the Emperor’s tomb sublime. Loved it.
Great trip. Very well organized. The imperial city and the tomb are impressive and definitely worth visiting. A stop on the coastal road is a nice addition to the itinerary - we were fortunate enough that the weather was good. The tour guide was very kind and he explained everything very clearly and particularly. Overall I highly recommend this tour.
Very good experience. The tour guide was very friendly and explained us the history of Hue. Unfortunately, due to bad weather we didn't see the Hai Van Pass, however everything else was very good. Highly recommended tour.
The tour was amazing, we could visit every spot on time and avoided crowds despite the popularity of the places visited. I highly recommend this tour due to its tour operator has an immaculate customer service. Thank you Kim for organizing everything.
It was all good, places that we visited made sense, guide did his best to explain the sites. The thing that I didn't really like was the food that was pretty basic, they could have done more there, even if the tour would cost 5 eur more it would make the whole trip much better.
Our tour guide Son knew a lot and answered all our questions, the itinerary was great and we had a really good typical lunch at a nice restaurant. Highly recommended!
Had a great day exploring the historical sites in Hue as a day trip out of Da Nang. It was a full 12 hour day, but we thought it was worth it. It was really hot, and we did struggle with that, but that is part of being in Vietnam. Did not feel that the stop at the pearl production facility was needful. It was one of those pressure to buy situations. Would have shortened the day a little to skip that stop.
I would like to recommend this tour. Thank you for everything. Please go and enjoy. Enjoy enjoy enjoy enjoy and enjoyyyy
Really interesting place, lots of history. The tour was well organised, well paced, with a nice lunch. The guide was good and the drver did well.
Great tour of historical Hue City. The buildings visited are old and get quite hot during the summer, but the van is well air-conditioned and there is time to cool off between each stop. Good option if you are staying in Da Nang but want to visit Hue during your trip to Vietnam.
Nice and convenient day trip to see the best spots of Hue and learn something about the last emperors of Vietnam. On the way there you will enjoy some beautiful views from the Hai Van pass - and the highway on the way back to Da Nang ist even more beautiful, as it winds it's way through a stunning jungle scenery. Be sure to protect yourself from the sun during the temple visits.
Great tour. Tour was informative. Hue City was historic; the seat of the Nyugen empire. Tour guide was superb.
Great tour if you don’t have time to stay in Hue during your travels. It’s a long day from Hoi An/De Nang but you cover loads. Jimmy was so full of information it was so interesting. Hai Van pass is so great to see, amazing road and such wonderful views. There’s a lot of walking so do bring good shoes, and a fan if it will be hot and the temples don’t have air con everywhere.
We set off from Hoi An about 7:15am - the driver was on time and we returned about 7:15 pm - it was a long but enjoyable day. Saw some beautiful scenery along the way & there was time to stop and take photos- it was very hot at the palace and the grands are much bigger than I imagined- our guide Jimmy was very informative along the way. The pagoda and the final resting place of the King were equally both interesting and spectacular- the drive home was non stop - our skill full driver navigated the traffic to get us all back safely- a long but interesting day - worth the trip
The tour was very interesting, and our guide Vee was lovely - a special thanks to her for making it fun! However, the tour was supposed to have a maximum capacity of 15 people, but we were 32… It really bothered us and felt like the guide hd to babysit everyone. At least, the agency offered us a 20% refund.
Wonderful tour, specially with Loan tour guide. She's full of energy and speaks English very well. She has a lot of knowledge about this area and her stories made the trip 10x better.
I had a blast today on the tour! The first stop really is to sell you pearls but after that it is good. You can skip the pearl presentation and get food/coffee outside or use the restroom. Loan (Pea) was such a delight and had some good jokes during the briefings. She did a great job keeping the large group together even towards the end of the day.
Journey from Hoi An took around 3 hours. We were collected in Hoi An, then did some pick ups in Da Nang, before tour started. We stopped twice on the way and no stops on way back, other than drop offs at Da Nang. Ray our tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate on Vietnam history. He gave us lots of interesting facts to remember. First stop was in the mountains, a few minutes to take some photos of view down to a large bay. 2nd stop was in Lagoon. Where we had time for a small walk about, coffee and comfort break. We visited Hue Imperial City, The Citadel and then went for lunch at a restaurant in Hue. All included in trip, only had to pay for drinks with lunch. Went onto Thien Mu Pagoda and lastly The Mausoleum of the Emperor Khai Dinh in Hurong Thuy. Journey very long but, the visits were very interesting and beautiful. At each stop we were given some time to wonder by ourselves. Thanks to Ray and driver, who looked after us very well.
12 hour day trip to Hue City from Da Nang… long bus rides there and back and was way too hot to really enjoy the ancient city. Not much to see there either. Not worth spending a day to see it if you are visiting for a short period of time.
A great way to cover Hue from Danang, in one day. You get to see the main sites in Hue and get an understanding of the Nguyen dynasty. However, the day was hot and that reduced the pleasure a little bit. The lunch organized by the tour was excellent.
The views are amazing however there was quite a bit of walking around . Since the weather is very hot it is advisable to book a tour that has buggy car to bring you around .
It was a memorable trip with a diverse group of people. We got to visit all the important spots in Hue within a short time. Our bubbly tour guide Đậu Thanh Loan (Pea) did a splendid job explaining everything in great detail and gave a lot of information right from the history of Vietnam & DaNang to the legendary tales of kings, culture and food. She also spoke good English and always kept the mood lively with humour. The air conditioned bus was very comfortable. Lunch at the restaurant was yummy and the ambience was relaxing. We had great photo opportunities at picturesque locations along the way. Passing through Hai van tunnel was another plus point on this tour. This was a well organised tour and hats off to the tour operators. Thank you so much!
The good : our guide Pea was charming and a great storyteller which made the tour fun and informative. We enjoyed seeing the scheduled sites. The bad : the tour was advertised with a maximum of 15 . There were a total of 29 on a large bus. We were expecting a smaller and more personalized tour for the money. Given the large group it was often difficult to hear the guides explanations and direction even with her voice amplifier. We also were not given advance notice of the exact morning pick up time.
All the temples were amazing. Our guide was very knowledgeable. A very good day out. Highly recommended.
