So much food - really a great way to introduce someone who only heard of bahn mi and pho to Vietnamese cuisine. AND I even rode on a scooter between a couple of the locations (and I have never done anything like that before!) Recommend

We had a lovely evening with our guide Tommy. He showed us the food delights and highlights of the local area. He easily adapted our tour menu to cater to my gluten-free dietary requirements. Tommy was knowledgeable about the food and incorporated local history as well, with established relationships with the local vendors. Highly recommend this tour and suggest you specifically request Tommy as your guide!
We had a great evening with Tommy, our guide. We went to places we would never have seen ourselves and learnt a lot about the food and also the culture. We tried lots of local specialities and were very full by the end! Very enjoyable!
Cuong was really helpful, providing cultural information as well as information on the foods. He also included a walk to see the lanterns on the river and helped us get a taxi
We had a terrific evening with Tommy for the Hoi An walking street food tour. Tommy is a local resident and took us to restaurants that serve served a variety of Vietnamese food. Highly recommend this tour.
If you want a real Hoi A food experience, this is for you. Our guide Tommy was awesome. We ate at local restaurants not the tourist traps and the food was amazing. Highly recommended it!
The food tour was great. Cuong was very pleasant and friendly, and really interesting to talk to. He generously shared insights about his culture, which gave us a deeper understanding. The food was delicious.
Our guide Tommy was so friendly, kind and knowledgeable. It was so nice to walk through Hoi An learning about its history and tasting the local food. Being Vietnamese, the food is already familiar but we came across lots of things we didn’t know or taste before. Highly recommended as it allows more than just the old town experience. All the food vendors we met were so lovely and it was wonderful to support them. The afternoon went by so quickly and we all went home with a full heart and tummy !
We booked three tours with Hoi An Private Tour Guides: the Foodie Tour, the Countryside Tour by motorbike, and the My Son Tour. All of them were very well organized and at the same time felt relaxed. Our guide Tommy and Ha the owner were fantastic: super friendly, easy to talk to, and always attentive. What we really appreciated was that they not only shared interesting facts, but also personal stories and answered every question with patience. The Foodie Tour was a real highlight. There’s no way we would have tried so many different dishes on our own. The motorbike countryside tour took us to places we’d never have discovered without them, and the My Son Tour was truly impressive as well. We had a wonderful time and can warmly recommend these tours to anyone visiting Hoi An. Thanks again to Tommy for making our days so memorable!
The day was pouring with rain but John the personal guide made this tour the highlight of our time here. A charming man with wonderful local knowledge and excellent english. This tour with this guide is an absolute winner I reccpmend it highly
Our tour guide was Tommy. He took us to all sections of Hoi An and was very knowledgeable about its history. The food was awesome and there was plenty of it.
The tour was excellent! Ha did a great job explaining all the different foods going to many small places with incredible food! From street vendors to very small cafes and all were great!
This food tour was amazing! Our guide Tom was knowledgeable and friendly, and each stop offered delicious, unique dishes that really showcased the local flavors. We discovered hidden gems we would’ve never found on our own. Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore great food!
Had an amazing private food tour with Bee, who was super informative and took us to 9 local spots. Most of those places we never would have found on our own. Everything was delicious and we were totally stuffed by the end. A great way to spend our first evening in Hoi An. Highly recommended!
Tommy was an awesome guide. He introduced us to 8 different dishes and a bunch of hidden restaurant / eating spot gems. Our family of 5 had a very fun night with him.
This was a great food tour. Our guide (I forgot to write down his name) was very educated on the history of the food and country. I loved that he took us to local places through alleys and gave us the real experience of Hoi An. It was fantastic.
Ou guide went by Tommy. He was prompt meeting us and taking us around to various small restaurants trying different foods. H explained the foods well. My wife bumped into a bike and cut herself. H went and got some first aid items for her. He was informative about the area as we walked around.
This tour, led by Tommy, was incredible! We ate so much amazing food that we never would have encountered or known to try otherwise. Tommy explained the history & details about everything we tried at each stop. It was a wonderful experience. Myself as well as my two friends that I took the tour with all highly recommend this experience. Thank you Tommy!
Great tour with interesting food and good local flair. We liked the dishes. It would have been nice to have the guide share more without having to probe for information.
We had a fabulous time with Tommy and his wingman, B, on their scooters. Over 3 hours we visited the outskirts of Hoi An to the organic vegetable growers and then back to the New Town and Old Town to visit the hand-picked vendors for amazing Hoi An street food. Every single one was delicious and generous in size. My fave was Xí Mà - black sesame sweet soup 🤤Can highly recommend this tour. Thanks Tommy 🙏🙏🙏
Fantastic highly recommend. Eric was great guide. We did it on motorbikes which was way to go in the heat. Great food, history and information. Took us to places you would never find on your own. Highly recommended
We did a private Street Food tour on motorbikes. Eric our guide was really great. His English excellent We sampled amazing food, off the beaten track. You would never find it yourself. We covered so much ground on the scooter’s. Sampled very traditional street food and Eric gave really fantastic history and stories behind the foods. Also gave us a lot of information about the town and its traditions. Eric is a HoiAn local so knew many of the people we met. Highly recommend this tour.
Eric was a knowledgeable guide who understood the historical and cultural significance of every dish. Each stop was a unique food experience. While seasoned diners with Vietnamese cuisine Eric took us to places which create food we've never experienced before. Well worth it!
Excellent and fun tour with our guide Eric. We learned about the Ha Noi speciality Cau Lau noodles and how it is made. The tastings included Ha Noi hotspots such as Madame Kahn and Mot Cafe. Loved the drink at Mot and had to go back for seconds after the tour.
Bee was our tour guide. I cannot recommend him more. It was a great tour to do if you don’t have a full day available. Approx 3-4 hours. Meeting point was easy to get to AUD2.00 through Grab taxi app from our hotel. Bee was on time to meet us - as per other reviews definitely go with an empty stomach as there is so much food. Bee is very knowledgeable and explained every thing about each dish. We had Bee all to ourselves as the only ones on the tour. So that was an added bonus. We ate every dish that was served and enjoyed every morsel- we are definitely coming back to Hoi An and taking advantage of the many tours Bees company provide.
Was amazing! Start to finish. Tommy was great, with a great knowledge of everything we could think of asking. His english was amazing as well - no complaints about anything at all!
The Food Tour was really good - we tasted 9 different foods in Hoi An! Can really recommend this tour guides. We had a lot of fun during the 3 hours!
This was a great tour! I’ve done other food tours and nothing compared to this one. Tommy took us to all local shops we’d likely not find on our own. We had 8 different dishes. He provided us not only with the history and culture of the food and Vietnamese people, but also took us places to tour to allow some digestion. Come Hungry!
Mum and I braved the pouring rain with our guide Tommy and we had a fantastic time! Everywhere we ate was indoors so we didn't have to stay out in the weather for long. Tommy was friendly and knowledgeable and made every accommodation to make sure we had a good time. We had a fantastic day, the food was all incredible. If you're planning on booking this tour, don't eat any breakfast!
My friends and I spent few days in Hoi An and use these guys from transfers to tours. Not just Hoi An as we found out they could even arrange everything in Viet Nam from North to South,we ended up at Sapa and surrounding. Everything was perfectly set up,couldn't ask for any better. Thank you very much,we will be back soon, loving Viet Nam very much
Although we have been to Hoi an a few times, Tommy, our guide, was able to show us a side that we hadn’t experienced before. The food was fantastic and Tommy’s descriptions of the way it is prepared and the history behind each dish was really interesting. Go prepared with good walking sandals, an empty stomach and an umbrella in case of Hoi an downpour like we got! Overall, a really enjoyable experience with a friendly and entertaining guide.
This tour is a must when visiting Hoi An, best to take it at the beginning of your trip as it will give you a great insight as to what dishes you can order and places to visit. This was our 2nd food tour with Ha, the 1st being back in 2019. The tour started with being picked up by the Hoi An shuttle bus and taken to the other side of town, getting off at the first food stop and continuing around town with Ha, stopping in at different restaurants. Ha has excellent english and is a Hoi An native. The 5 of us (3 adults, 17, 15) all had a great time and enjoyed all dishes and would like to do it all over again!
This was a great adventure. Living in Sydney, we have a lot of great Vietnamese food so I was worried it may be same same… how wrong I was. There was only a couple of things I’ve seen before and done here in the style local to this region- even they were different. Tommy was a smiley and delightful guide, with a lot of great info but also open about his story and experiences living in Hoi An. I highly recommend this tour to experience some really local food you would never find or try on your own. I started strong by photographing the food and taking notes and then just got immersed in the experience. Warning: butt loads of food. We ended up asking for one portion to share so we didn’t burst.
This is truly highlight of our entire Việt Nam trip. Wonderful people we have met and absolute incredible food samples. Can’t say enough about this tour. Thank you Ha,we will be back soon. VietNam is amazing
Best company ever! Everything we use from them is just awesome, dont miss out…. Lets book anything and you wont regret it
Met Tony at the agreed location and he was right on time. He greeted us with the warmest smile and wasted no time in taking us to our first culinary experience. On the way to the first restaurant, a small, very local place, Tony started telling us about the history of this amazing country and briefly explained the tour, how many places we’d visit and the reasoning behind choosing these restaurants. These are not the normal touristic places, these are the nearly extinct places that still hold on to the tradition and ancient ways of preparing and cooking these meals. The places that Tony was about to show us were not on the main streets where you see hoards of people, locals and tourists gathering and queuing up. These places are tucked away, where only the knowledgeable locals go, the real hidden gems and exactly what we were looking for. Every place was better than the last and the entire tour was a refreshing crescendo of excitement and mouth watering delicacies. Tony’s knowledge about this amazing country, the ingredients and history of the dishes we tried was fun, interesting and truly complemented the tour. We can’t recommend Tony enough. Thank you Huang Hai, we hope to see you again, soon. ;)
Such an amazing food tour! Ha, our tour guide was so much fun and was incredibly knowledgeable about the food and history of Hoi An. He even gave us more recommendations for the rest of our Vietnam trip. Definitely recommend.
The street food tour was really amazing! The host and his wife were so good at explaining everything and the food we tasted was incredible! It was nice to discover new dishes unique to Hôi An! I strongly recommend this tour to anyone willing to try the real food of the local!
This was a really great tour with an exceptional tour guide. Ha is a local and is incredibly knowledgeable about the city. He provided really interesting insight about all the foods we tried and the places we visited. He easily adapted everything to my vegetarian needs. We had a really great time and recommend 10/10.
The food was incredible and our tour guide, Ha, was fun, easy to converse with, and taught us so much about the history and culture of Hoi An. The tour consists of his personal favorite dining spots for the best banh mi, banh xeo, etc. and it completely exceeded our expectations! We ate a lot of food in Vietnam during our 10 day stay, and the food from this tour was easily the best we had. We even revisited one of the locations on our last day because the food was so good. The tour is well paced (small walking distances between locations), portions are as big or little as you like, and it will give you a sense of the local life as you wind your way through back alleys and small streets. Our group included two children (ages 5 and 7) and a pregnant traveler. Everyone loved the food we ate and no one got sick afterwards. :) Highly, highly recommend!
To start, our tour guide ‘Mr Ha’ was outstanding, he not only gave us more than our money’s worth with the excellent food tour we got but also provided us with so much information about Hoi An, its history, background, places to visit and do in and around the city. The food we tasted was great, varied and plentiful. This was a magical experience - don’t miss out, a definite must if you visit Hoist An!
Ha’s food tour will leave you completely full but in the best way possible! you will get to explore the real traditional hoi an and eat the best food with the nicest people, also my friend was vegetarian and she was completely accommodated at every restaurant
Wow! If you do only one tour in Hoi An, make it this one! Between the mind-bendingly delicious cuisine of Hoi An/Vietnam, and the infectious joy & passion Ha has for his hometown, you cannot have a bad time (or dish!) on this tour. His family goes back generations in Hoi An, and he shares history of the town, the food, and the families he grew up with. Every spot and dish he introduced me to was outstanding! I tend to go on food tours everywhere I travel, and this was by far the best. I recommend doing it shortly after you arrive so that you can revisit spots you like, and get recommendations for additional dishes to try during your visit.
My partner and I just finished this fantastic walking street food tour with our great tour guide, Ha. Ha is extremely friendly, speaks fantastic English and is very engaging. Ha explained all the history behind each dish we tried and took us off the beaten track to places only locals would know. Everything is all included in the price of the tour. Each dish was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend this tour!
Absolutely brilliant tour. Ha was the best guide we could have asked for. He explained so much of the history behind the food and took us to places off the beaten track to experience dishes that are unique to Hoi An. The food was absolutely incredible. Would strongly recommend.
Wonderful experience! We were in Vietnam for 3 weeks and our tour with Ha was the best experience we had. He was fantastic. It was fun, educational, and we tried so many spots we never would have found. Ha was so fantastic. It was a day of laughing and fun and something we will never forget. Thank you Ha!
We loved this backroads tour of Hoi An with local boy Ha who seemed to know all the hawkers we stopped at, and whose back stories added to the feeling that we were getting a privileged alternative view of the city. The food was great as well, even my 4 year old partook and enjoyed the food whether it was served by the roadside or in a restaurant. Ha also made sure there was enough to keep a kid occupied, including an ice cream treat towards the end! We also did other tours including Danang, Hoi An activities (lantern making, basket boat, farm visit), Ba Na Hills, My Son sanctuary and Hue, with Ha and the care before and during our personalised itinerary was attentive and thoughtful. Communication was clear and prompt, and help was given for all sorts of questions and needs. We would definitely recommend looking them up for tours in and around Hoi An.
Ha is one of the best guides we have every had. He catered for all our needs in our group from our 5-year old, our teenagers and us parents and answered all our questions with so much care and passion. The tour was fun, incredibly informative and we discovered some delicious food. As a family, we all agreed this was the best tour we have ever had. Thank you Ha for showing us all your favourite places around Hoi An. It was absolutely amazing.
This walking tour is a great way to see Hoi An and experience its vibrant street food scene at the same time. Ha Nguyen, our guide, is a 7th generation Vietnamese in Hoi An. He knows all the people in town, like the older gentleman who delivers fresh water to residents and the family who has the secret recipe for preparing this creamy but not too sweet black sesame dessert. Ha introduced us to the best banh mi and Hoi An soup noodles I’ve ever had, and my family of 4 (including some picky kid eaters) all found delicious treats among the 10 different dishes we tried across the various street vendors. When we arrive at each stop, Ha introduces us to the family operating the shop and tells us about their history. It makes us feel like we have a special “in” with a local! In addition to the food, Ha also points out interesting local sites, such as the 10th century well that contains the water used to make the best Hoi An noodles or the famous white rose dumplings. He also took us to visit an old prison converted to a ping pong recreational center complete with locals playing ping pong in old jail cells. Ha also took us to see the famous night market and beautiful streets lined by lit lanterns in the evening that were made famous by the UNESCO Cultural Heritage designation. The last thing I want to specially call out is just how friendly and helpful Ha is. We wanted to see the Hoi An Memories Show after the food tour ended but we had struggled to purchase tickets online in advance. When I mentioned this to Ha during our tour, he jumped into action, made a few phone calls, secured tickets for us, and escorted us all the way to the front door of the theater without charging a dime extra! Going above and beyond doesn’t even begin to describe Ha. Simply put, he made our visit to Hoi An an incredible, A+ experience.
Ha was one of the best tour guides we ever had! He took an extremely personal approach to our tour, and showed us some incredible local spots. Everything we ate and drank was delicious and we also learned a lot about Hoi An. Ha was wonderful and so easy to talk to! He clearly cares a lot about the city and everyone who comes on his tours.
