Hoi An To Hue Day Trip By Private Car Service

Incredible experience traveling with our driver from Hoi An to Hue. Trip took about 5 hours total including the excursions. Mr. Top was an incredibly safe and experienced driver who spoke English flawlessly. He explained the sites along the way, gave us food recommendations and was kind enough to share his life experiences with us. He was patient while my husband and I did the various excursions at Marble Mountains, Hai Van Pass, and the lagoon lunch (which was delicious). Views along the way were beautiful especially on Hai Van Pass and the lagoon. Super easy to book and communication with the driver was easy. Highly recommend booking this trip if you're planning to travel between Hoi An and Hue and make sure to ask for Mr. Top as your driver!

Our private driver, Alex was right on time for our journey to Hue. We stopped at the marble factory to have a look at some incredible works of statues and furniture all made out of marble. We witnessed something amazing in the making as the marble artist chiselled away and I'm sure it's going to be a fantastic work of art. Then he drove us across to begin our start to Marble Mountain. Tickets were not included and it didn't cost very much and it was worth seeing. We got carried away and spent at least an hour going through the caves and was left speechless. It really is an amazing sight to see. There are a lot of steps to take so be prepared. There are sellers selling refreshments and please read the prices before buying as I bought a can of soda and was told it would cost me 40,000VND. As I went to the patio behind to drink it, I noticed the price was 20,000VND. I overpaid for my soda and I witnessed a tourist wanting to buy a bottle of water and was told a different price, he was quick to notice that the price was not right and asked what's going on with the mismatched price, the sellers looked embarrassed and the tourist did not want it anymore. So please be aware and look at the price advertised before buying. Our driver took us to a very nice scenic spot where we hung around for like 15-30 minutes. If you want to spend more time there taking pictures, you are free to do so as it's your private transportation. The coastline is pretty. We then got dropped off at a nice roadside cafe restaurant for a refreshment break and we sat outside where the weather felt nice as the fans really helped. Our drinks were great with good prices. Our private driver Alex was a very good and skilfull driver. We were behind huge long trucks that were very slow on the narrow roads and wanted to get us to our destination in good time. He drives this route almost everyday transporting passengers out of Hanoi to Hue. He knows the roads very well and knows when to take over and anticipates their moves. He knows when he will meet with oncoming cars and changed lanes seamlessly. We arrived at our destination in good time, he drove us there safely and we were very comfortable in the SUV which I highly recommend being in one as there were a lot winding roads leading up to the coastal scenery.

We had a wonderful trip from Hoi An to Hue with Truong. We learned a lot about Vietnam on our way. He also brought us to a City of Ghosts and told us about the cemetery. Besides taking us from Hoi An to Hue, he also provided a lot of information and made our trip interesting.

Even though we did it on a rainy day, our driver Mr. Bin made it a really nice experience. He made stops at the top of the mountain pass as well as the lagoon, giving us some background information about each location. He made us always feel safe, and was pleasant to talk to.

We had such a wonderful time with our driver Thomas. He was thoughtful and kind and very knowledgeable. He took us to Marble Mountain, Hoi van pass and stopped at a gorgeous little fishing village for lunch. He shared local knowledge, answered all our questions and was extremely patient with us !!! I cannot recommend Thomas highly enough.

The road trip was very pleasant and our guide complemented the views with info and curiosities. We visited a few places along the road, among which the Marble Mountains, which we would have missed if we had travelled by train. Higly recommended!

Alex, our driver on the Hue to Hoi A private car transfer was excellent. We added a stop at the A Bang Cemetery, which was absolutely worth it. But the highlight of the trip was the visit to Marble Mountain. All along the way Alex was always willing to slow down or pull over for a photo.

Michael our driver turned up a few minutes early to our hotel in Hoi A which was great. He warmly greeted us and put our luggage in the car. It was very interesting to have a driver who lives in the area with knowledge of places on route. We stopped at Marble Mountain caves which we enjoyed, and at the top of Hai Van Quan where there are wonderful views. We also stopped at Lang Co Bay and took some awesome photos. All in all a very pleasurable trip and, I’m sure, much more comfortable and pleasant than alternative modes of transport. Alex was very nice and super professional, the trip was smooth and everything went well and on time, I definitely recommend him!

Rin took us from Hue to Hoi an and showed us different things on the way: ghost town, a lagune where we drank coffee and the hai van pas. He found the perfect spot to have lunch on the beach and even looked for a paharmacy for one of us who was not feeling well. He drove nice and safe. And it was the perfect combination between telling us things and just driving. Also he was very caring and helpful.

This was the best way to travel between Hoi An and Hue for our group. Beautiful scenic road with interesting cultural stops and a wonderful ocean side lunch. Easy pick up at your own hotel. Van option worked wonderful for our group. Lots of room for the baggage and for us to sit comfortably in. Van was extremely well kept. Practically looked and ran like new. Air conditioning ran too well! Our driver, Loc, was wonderful. From the introduction, he had a positive, warm presence and brought lots of background knowledge and humor to the travel. He answered all our questions, gave us time to explore, and gave us suggestions for our stay. His driving was safe and comfortable. He was able to avoid a potential accident when a vehicle suddenly cut him off in an intersection. Had we known he offered tours in Hue, we would have booked with him right away.

We needed a way to go from Hue to Hoi An and we couldn’t be happier with our choice by booking a private car with VM Travel. We were picked up at Hue hotel and dropped us off at Hoi An hotel. Throughout the way we passed through Lap An Lagoon, Lang Co Beach, Hai Van Pass and Marble Mountains. Top, was perfect along the entire tour. Very good and smooth driver in a very comfortable car! Happy and safe trip from Hoi An to Hue. Tim was my driver, communicating with me the day before to introduce himself, and arrange departure time and locations. He arrived early on pick up day, shared photo of licence plate and let me know he was outside when I was ready. We had stops along the way and Tim happily went at my pace (a bit faster than average trips as I’m travelling solo), shared information about different areas, escorted me to entrances as I wished and added stops as I wanted. There was no pressure to buy anything at stops either as some others drivers did from what I saw. Tim’s driving was safe and calm. The car was clean, big and comfortable. Suitable for all travellers. As a solo female traveller in case any other women are considering booking - I highly recommend as an option to travel btw Hoi An and Hue either direction.

Beautiful scenic drive from Hoi An to Hue. Our driver was very skilled and made us feel safe. The car was new and clean and air-conditioned, which was very nice.

Our driver Alex was absolutely fantastic. The drive was comfortable in a very spacious and modern Toyota SUV. Loads of room for us and all our luggage. Got to see all of the sights of the Hai Van pass, Alex pulled over for scenic photo spots and knew all the best places to stop. Lunch at Lap An Lagoon was a real unexpected treat, amazing (and very reasonably priced) oysters and a stroll along the lagoon edge to stretch the legs. Got for fresh and BBQ oysters, you won't regret it. All in all definitely use the service again. Alex was in touch the day before via WhatsApp to confirm times and couldn't have done anything more, put on some great tunes for the drive also.

This was a great tour. Our guide and driver, Alex, was very friendly, courteous, and accommodating. We stopped at some fascinating places, including the A Bang cemetery . This is a don’t miss - it’s astounding. We also stopped at the lagoon for an oyster lunch, which was excellent. The car was clean and very comfortable. Alex is a gem. We booked the drive from Hoi An to Hue with VM Cars and had a great trip. Our driver Alex was very good, friendly, a good and calm driver and the car we had was nice and roomy and spotlessly clean. As part of the drive we stopped at Marble Mountain which is well worth a visit, drove through the Hai Van Pass, as seen on Top Gear, unfortunately it was very foggy on the way up and despite Alex's best efforts to get us a good photo, nature beat us. It did clear however on the other side of the pass so we got some good photos but not the iconic ones. We the stopped at the beautiful Lang Co Bay, for a quick drink then onto HUE. What would probably take 2 hours if you went direct by car, 3 in a bus and 2.5 on a train this took about 5 and it was worth it, breaks up the travel and takes you door to door, so if you leave at 9 you get to your next hotel etc round about check in time of 2pm. Would highly recommend.

We had an excellent time with VM Travels! We have booked 6 private car trips with VM Travels & have just completed our 3rd trip today! Ours first driver Vu picked us up from the airport and waited for us even though our flight was delayed, he also drove us around Hue visiting various sites explaining to us about the history of Hue and the traditions. Our second driver Alex transferred us from Hue to Hoi An he was also fantastic, he stopped at a few locations such as the Hai Van Pass, Thuy Son / Marble Mountains and a lot of photo spots along the way for some excellent views. We had accidentally booked this tour, thinking that it goes from Hoi An to Hue and back. The tour organizer was very accommodating in letting us rebook another tour on the next day. The tour was fabulous and everything was exactly has advertised. We learned a lot about Vietnamese history and current affairs. The tour guide spoke English perfectly and the driver was patient and safe in even the most trying traffic situations. We highly recommend the tour.
