Good experience. Our guide was Ms Kim. Very honest and informative with all our stops. She was flexible enough to let us ride motorbikes instead of walking to the OldTown. From there she showed us where to park because motorbikes aren't allowed inside OldTown. She gave us tips on where to watch lanterns and have better photos. She was accommodating to let us try stops that weren't part of our IT list. She let us try different foodstuffs and drinks even if it wasn't part of the list, too. Love the Hoi An experience.
Kim is a great responsible guide! Pobably better to do the tour in the morning or evening during summer
We loved our private tour with Kim. She showed us places we would not have seen. We loved the silk shop visit and the bridge. The architecture lesson was fabulous. Kim was courteous and fun!
Small or private tour gives best experience. My guide was tour operator. Great added value and comfortably paced excursion. App allows DaNang pick-up but does not mention driver supplement due extra 1hr before/after tour which is scheduled to start in HoiAn. Personalised and infomative. Good value. The food tasting at end of tour made the trip ideal.
Very friendly guide with first hand knowledge on culture, history and local food. Very helpful with shopping needs and question time
Really nice and informative tour. My tour guide Kim was perfectly prepared and provided great insights into Hoi An's life. Highly recommend!
The old quater was absolutely amazing not only the place itself but also the people and the foods. The old town now has a lot of changes and renewable that makes me feel like home. Everything was so warm and close. This so far is my favourite place to experience.
Very experienced, knowledgeable and kind guide. We saw all the highlights and as it was a private tour, spent more time where we were most interested, a very relaxed morning.
Kim did a great job giving us a walking tour of Hoi An. She told us about the history of the city and showed us several different sites including a temple and the Japanese bridge. Kim knew a lot of the history. Also along the way we stopped at various places to sample the local food. We tried a tea, spring rolls and Banh mi. Great all around tour of Hoi An!
Thank you, Thai for your time and showing me around the Old Town in Hoi An. I have enjoyed and learned about the culture and the place throughout the tour. Thai had also been generous and surprised me with yummy biscuits and mandarins. Appreciate Your hospitality and warm company. I highly recommend this tour with Thai.
Guide Medan more interesting in taking you to tailoring shop then sight seeing. Pick up and drop was included in price but she charged me 3000.0000 extra V N D
You can clearly see that there has been a major change in this country leadership. The new people in charge are recognizing the power of the tourist dollar and the influence it has on this beautiful country and its citizens. You can clearly see the improvement of infrastructure in this little town and we have been visiting frequently over the past 7 years. Hoi An is booming and quality of hotels, transportation and restaurants has made a huge impact on this town. I’m so happy to see that the people of Vietnam are going well since they work very hard. The ancient town had gotten even more vibrant and beautiful. Not only during the day but even in the evening the streets are filled with tourists wanting to explore this amazing place. I really enjoy the addition of all the food carts in old town offering traditional food options and cocktails at very reasonable prices. The shops are open late to accommodate the tourists after they enjoyed their fabulous dinner… I love Hoi An…
Everything was really great and well organized! We really got to know more about the hoi an’s history and experience local food
Kim was very knowledgeable! She really knows her history and did a great job simplifying information to make it bite sized and memorable! She’s so friendly and flexible and allows for time to stop at shops along the way. We ended the tour tasting lots of local foods all which were great!
Great way to familiarize yourself with everything that is available in old town and get your bearings. Guide was very knowledgeable.
We did the evening tour which we were asked to start 30 minutes earlier than we had booked, which wasn’t a problem as we requested to eat at the end of the tour. We did see some things that we wouldn’t have found on our own but unfortunately our guides English was difficult to understand at times and she was quietly spoken. The meal at a local restaurant was good and we tried some different foods. The food had been preordered. It would have been better if the guide had stayed with us whilst we ate to explain what it was and how to prepare and eat some of the dishes. For us the tour was a little disappointing as the previous tour we did in Vietnam was outstanding.
Hoi An’s Old Town is divided into two sections on either side of a stream going into the river (Japinees on one side and Chinees culture on the other side). on the walking tour, we came across one of the towns well-known features of the Japanese-covered bridge, complete with its temple and statuary BUT the structure is TOTALLY under overhaul reconstruction. As we walked through Hoi An’s historic streets we observed the city’s mossy houses, including the Phuc Kien Congressional House (a must see). Most of Hoi An’s historic houses have been maintained in their traditional design, with brick exteriors and wooden interiors. After many centuries of maritime trade, the town boasts a multicultural atmosphere, as many traders from Persia, Arabia, China, Japan, and India, as well as the first Christian missionaries to reach Vietnam, have all left their mark. We stopped to tour the “OLD HOUSE”, which in its day was owned by a wealthy merchant. Out the back door of the two-level home there are doors that open to the river for receiving shipments. One very interesting feature for Tom was the roof tiles. The tiles have horizontal slots in them to promote ventilation while being set at 30 degrees to let the rainwater to run off to a drinking water cistern. The wood used in the house construction is Iron and Teak wood. Both woods, to improve their longevity are first totally submerged in water for up to 10 years. No nails are used anywhere in the structure. Houses (ancient structures) cannot be modified from historic design = These are all classified as world heritage structures) and can sell for $3 million or rent for $3,000 a month. During last year’s monsoon rains of November Hoi An streets were flooded with 3 ft of water, so the OAT tour had to hire boats to move travelers into / around / out of town. A week later after we left Hoi An our tour guide notified us the city flooded as the monsoons had started
Great way to get situated in Hoi An on our first day! Our guide was helpful and patient, and the food was AH-MAZING!!!
Very informative. Kim is an excellent guide to have. She made us feel like an old friend that she hasnt seen a long time. High recommend and at our own pace. Not rushed
Had a good experience with Kim as our guide. She is knowledgeable and very accommodating to all our needs and questions. Very sweet lady
Terrible the guide had to initially cancel and change time which was fine. Local Food included samples of food at end of walking around Hoi An which was ok then she just left us.... I wouldn't recommend this tour at all I can't even put It a star
A very informative tour with Kim this afternoon around the old town. Sharing her knowledge and answering our questions. Enjoyed a lovely meal at Little Kitchen House down a side street. Would certainly recommend this tour.
Kim was an extremely nice and knowledgeable guide. She went out of her way to ensure we had a good experience. The food was exceptional.
Excellent tour with Kim! She was extremely knowledgeable about local history as well as local places to eat food and enjoy herbal tea. We avoided alot of crowds and got a great insight into the history of hoi an and its communities. The highlight was the food/dinner. Highly recommended 👌
We are really enjoy Hoi An walking tour. We have wonderful time in Hoi an ancient with my friends. Hoi an is so colorful at night with the lanterns. I love Hoi an very much and we will come back to Hoi an soon. The Hoi an local foods were so delicious We really enjoy the tour. High recommend this tour

Great guide and well known about old town history and we went to several nice activites in the city center!
Walking on narrow streets where were impressive with old houses, old architecture. I was explained by good English Speaking Guide about history and culture, Meal was amazing with kinds of local food. Should book this short tour when you visit here
I took a tour Hoi An old town in the afternoon and walked around lovely town with a lot of interesting places, tour guide explained history and amazing culture. We enjoyed so much architecture of house, assembly Hall, old Houses, museum…. Especially we enjoyed beautiful lantern by night. The local food was fantastic. Thanks all, we highly appreciated the tour. Highly recommend!!!
Have you experienced Vietnam bingo? I have and you must. Just one of the great experiences with Kim on this great tour to see all the sights if you are not based in Hoi An. Kim was a great host and helped me get from Danang and back.
Loads of fun. Bars, tailors and street sellers. Go to the pedestrian section (no cars at all). Has a great vibe about it. You just need to be ready to barter or learn Vietnamese for ‘No, thank you’. Try a mango bun and get some clothes made!
My first full day in Hoi an I booked a tour of the Old town with food tasting. It was fantastic, Kim is so knowledgeable and explained everything about the culture & historical sites. The food was great too, she took me to the best places. I highly recommend this tour & any others you book.
Kim gave us a super tour of Hoi An old town; from temples to old homes and the Japanese bridge to local cafes & restaurants. She had so much to tell us about life in Vietnam, especially in this region. Her knowledge of Hoi An's history and the places we visited was great. Kim introduced us to local versions of tea and we ate a variety of Hoi An specialities throughout the tour. A superb mix for a tour.
I really enjoyed the evening. Kim showed me around the Old Town and explained about historical events especially under the Chinese influence and how it can be seen in the architecture. We visited one of the five assembly halls in town. Interesting! We also had a nice dinner in a cosy little restaurant. Then lit a lantern and made a wish before letting it float away on the river. I also got the play vietnamese bingo :) We finished off the evening by having a drink outside, where many locals gather, which was nice. Thank you Kim!
Excellent tour with nice tour guide , beautiful town and amazing food. If you travel and wanna discover culture and history about the site should book the tour to get the good experience and to be showed and heard interesting things that so incredible and enjoy so much food, exellent herbal tea I enjoyed so much the tour. I an highly recommend this tour.
Great introduction to Hoi An. Kim is an excellent guide and very knowledgeable! She will go out of her way to make the tour interesting - would highly recommend.
A fantastic introduction to Hoi An for first time visitors. Kim was wonderful and explained the history behind the town and it’s buildings - very knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend!
Kim has shown me many places in lovely Hoi An. She has been super informative and lovely, and I learnt a lot about Hoi An’s history in a really engaging and enjoyable way - it was like going around with a friend! We also tasted local food and again this was excellent - I really enjoyed the food, the company and the conversation - thank you Kim! I can recommend booking a tour with Kim for sure!
Just got back from 6 days in Hoi An. We spent most of our time visiting the markets and had a fabulous time. Hundreds of little stalls and shops with great souvenirs. The old town is very attractive with many old buildings, shops, eating places and the river. Goods are very cheap but you have to be prepared to barter as they start off with silly prices. You can get pestered a bit to buy but they eventually get the message when you walk away. The night market was exciting but I found the day market much better. Food is very good. Lots of little street front cafe's and restaurants serving a huge variety of tasty dishes and you are never hurried. We took a little boat ride up the river which was pleasant but not over exciting, a good chance to take photos of the town. Hoi An is a great place for a short holiday and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
A visit to the old town of Hoi An is definitely worth it. Streets full of shops, drinks and eateries. But there are also a number of old houses to visit that are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In the evening you can enjoy the ballet of the illuminated boats. The local restaurants along the waterfront are already worth enjoying the local products.
Very lively in the evening, excellent street food very varied, very illuminated, huge night marketing, only unpleasant, lots of scooter traffic jumble not obvious to circulate on foot
Thai is a very friendly guide with passion for his story. He shows the highlights of the old town. Then he takes you to places where you can safely eat local food.
Assolutamente consigliato
I really recommend this half day tour in Hoi An. Our guide Mr Thai was very kind and helpful, and explained the history and culture of this city to us. Visiting the ancient part with a guide allows you to better understand many aspects related to history and religion. We also saw the lanterns, tasted the famous MÓT tea and ate a truly excellent local lunch.
During the tour you learn a lot about the history of the city. I particularly liked the large hall. After the tour and the meal, Kim even took the time to go to the river and look at the lantern boats with us. Afterwards we even played the local bingo! Kim puts a lot of effort into it and it is absolutely worth getting to know Hoi An better this way.
Listed as a UNESCO heritage site in 1999, the old town is built along a historic port which for years was one of the most important in the kingdom of Champa, where we source silk, porcelain, mother-of-pearl and lacquer. Architecture with Chinese and Japanese influence, it feels like a film set. We advise you to visit the Japanese covered bridge, currently under renovation, and the Phung Hung House. The old town is bustling day and night, but when the sun goes down, the lanterns light up and give a whole other fantastic look.

Sehr ausfuehrliche und informative Fuehrung durch das schoene Hoi An. Insbesondere die mannigfaltigen lokalen Spezialitaeten moechte ich hervorheben. Jederzeit wieder.
