Such a fun morning riding through the Hoi An countryside! The tour was organized and offered an authentic look into local life, from farms and rice fields to traditional rice paper, mattress making, carpentry, and rice wine. Biking was definitely the best way to see all these sights up close.

Itinerary
Meet our Tour guide at Hoi an Historic Cafe (Inside Hoi an Historic Hotel) before tour start. Your guide will fit your bike, give a safety briefing, and provide an overview of the tour.
The ride soon opens up to peaceful countryside roads lined with coconut palms and vegetable gardens, where locals head to the fields on bicycles. Along the way, your guide shares stories of village life and explains how these communities continue to balance tradition with the changes tourism brings.
Our first stop is a small family kitchen, where bánh bèo (steamed rice cakes) are prepared for breakfast using the traditional method. It’s a simple, delicious insight into daily life in the countryside before we continue riding to one of Hoi An’s most beautiful villages, where we stop at a family home to learn about the tradition of family chapels. From here, the route follows small canals and waterways towards a wooden boat-building site. Fishing remains the lifeblood of the province, and the sight of craftsmen shaping hulls by hand is a highlight for photographers. If the timing is right, you’ll also see families gathered by the shore cleaning their fishing nets between journeys at sea.
Our final stops include a family-run distillery where rice wine is still made in the same way it has been for generations. You’re welcome to sample a glass, or for the adventurous, try the stronger local version infused with herbs! After that, it is time to ride back to Hoi An.

I highly recommend this tour. Linh was an excellent guide (safe, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, fun, good with having an older ‘mum n dad’ on board 😉 ) and my bike was very comfy and well-geared. The village stop-offs were shady, friendly, hands-on and very interesting. The terrain was almost 100% flat. A bit of traffic in and out of town but the rest was very easy. As long as you have some confidence on a bike this tour is a must. Thanks so much, Linh.
Was very fun and enjoyable. Bryan was a great tour guide, learned a lot from him and he was very kind. Would recommend this tour to anyone
It was very refreshing to be in the company of a guide who was extremely knowledgeable and proud of his country. Tom’s professionalism and attention to our safety was unquestionable throughout the tour. We would highly recommend Tom and the tour. especially if you would like to see daily life of rice fields, fishing, living and family heritage in countryside Hoi An.
Thank you Vân for a great experience !
Van was fantastic. A great pace and explanations along the way. It was very relaxing and very enjoyable meeting the people at the different stops. I would definitely recommend this tour!
This was our favourite trip whilst in Vietnam. Our guide Linh was great, he was very knowledgeable about the area, was very personable and friendly. Taking us through the countryside meeting local people and trying our hand at cooking, weaving and carpentry we thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend 😊
Amazing experience with Hoang. The ride out to the country part Hoi A was a highlight of our trip and seeing how families make a living. From mattress weaving, to rice wine to noodle making. The first part they don’t expect you to buy anything it is really about seeing how they live and work. What loses the appeal is the end when you go to silk worm farm. This was our second time being to one of these and they are exactly the same and you do feel pressure from staff there to purchase something. Other than that it’s a great experience but be prepared to ride 20kms plus and take COLD water or ask your guide to stop somewhere on the way.
Fantastic bicycle tour with the lovely Nao Tam. It was only the 2 of us so we had a private tour which was great. Highly recommend! Thanks Tam!
Tam was great. Very friendly, informative, and accommodating. Tour was well paced and interesting, left me quite tired lol.
Brian was a perfect guide. It was a amazing tour!
My 2 young kids and I had a wonderful time biking through the countryside with our tour guide Tam. Tam spoke great English and did a great job explaining each stop. We felt safe following Tam's lead even while biking through the city streets en route to the countryside.
Tam was an amazing guide. He was so informative and so friendly! I was a bit apprehensive about riding a bike in the city traffic, but he kept us safe and never felt any danger. We were only in traffic for a very short time, then it was all country roads. The experiences were authentic and so interesting. Really gave us a new perspective of Vietnam. I'm 63 , and my husband is 68, we are in fairly good shape and we never felt over exerted . I highly recommend this tour and ask forTam!!!
It was a must if you are in Hoi an. This tour lets you experience how locals really live and not just the ‘tourist type’ of things. Brian is our guide and he is very knowledgable about the history and all. We did and go through places and experiences that you would’ve missed if you are doing it on your own.
Amazing tour guide. We had a fantastic bike ride and great to see another side of Hoi An, see a different way of living and working within the rice fields. While it was very hot the guide made sure we stopped off along the way
Brian was excellent, funny, knowledgable and organised, highly recommended!
Fantastic tour! Unreal experience meeting the locals and riding around. Highly recommend. Our tour guide Brian was brilliant! We now have given him a nick name Ten Ten Brian!
Brian was a great tour guide and made the experience fun for all
Amazing experience. The tour guide Brian was excellent. It was great meeting random people and experiencing all the various activities of the beautiful Vietnamese countryside.
Really enjoyable experience, Tan the guide was amazing and the pace wasn't too high in the heat. Recommended also for beginner bikers. Some good stops along the road and the snake wine was a once in a lifetime experience...
We had a very enjoyable bike ride with Tuan. He was very knowledgeable, personable and experienced. We felt safe riding with him.
Great guide. Nice and beautiful countryside route. Really nice experience
Amazing and very relaxing tour with a total different side of Hoi An. Our tour guide Tam was really nice and speaks english very well. He takes the time to explain. The smaller group helps to have a more relaxed and personal tour.
Top Guide Tam. Tells a lot, almost no accent. Easy trip in cycling, but we're Dutch. Country-side trip very nice
We are are a family of 4 with an 18yr old and 15yr old. This was an amazing experience but made all the more better by our guide Linh who was just brilliant. We stopped off to make noodles (which were delicious), we stopped at a family home and tried rice wine, we carved wood and we stopped and saw lots of different places. Linh explained everything to us, with great humour and very good English. I would highly recommend this and it's great value for money. Would say that you need to be confident riding a bike but I felt safe following Linh and with our other guide.
A wonderful way to spend some time visiting the best parts of Hoi An. Our guide, Howard, was fantastic. Funny and knowledgeable. He kept us safe throughout. We visited a temple, made and ate rice pancakes, a mat maker, a rice wine maker, a silk factory and finished up with a cold drink.
We looved it! Linh was really nice and we saw a lot of things. I liked the fact that we got a look at what the locals’s hobbys are and how they spend their day. The money was more than worth it, and we even got to do a lot of the hobbys (like weaving, making noodles and drinking happy water😋😋). We recommend!!
Tam was a brilliant guide! Thank you so much for a lovely tour of Hoi An. ;)
We did this activity as a group of 5 friends (ages 24-30) and really enjoyed seeing the countryside away from the well-known market areas of Hoi An. Our guide Howard was warm, funny and at each stop shared some interesting insights which we wouldn’t have picked up on otherwise. Would love to do again with the family! Thank you.
Hand down one of the best day trips we have done as a family. Cycling was busy in the town but safe and settled down int he country lanes. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the houses and meeting families and seeing the culture. Lanh was a brilliant guide, very informative and friendly. Highly recommend!
Tam was an amazing tour guide! We had the best time exploring and learning more about Vietnamese culture. The bikes were perfectly fitted for the ride and the ride suited everyone's ability. Tam explained everything clearly and tailored the tour uniquely to our group which was perfect! Along the way we got to see so many new sights and meet so many lovely locals who made our experience even better! The tour was interactive which kept everyone involved, we had so much fun! Overall we had the best time and we couldn't have done it without our tour guide tam. Tam is the best!!!
Than our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the countryside and its deep history. He was professional and always had safety first as we navigated the streets of Hoi An, crossed bridges and cycled country paths and roads. I would highly recommend Than as a guide. The stops and activities were educational and good fun. An excellent morning!!!
Amazing Tour guide !! Beautiful stops wood carving, rice wine, rice paper rolls , making bamboo mats , and stopping by family ancestry home ! Lovely crew and guide Thanh 💖
What a fun and memorable bicycle tour of the Hoi A countryside. Our guide Linh was exceptional and knowledgeable and kept us together at leisurely pace. Lots of breaks and great to be off the beaten path past rice fields and various farms. my 13 yr old son and I learned so much about the region and culture, making rice noodles, weaving basket mats, and even various types of rice wine. 5 stars and recommend this as a way to see and explore by bicycle
Thanh was a great guide and we really enjoyed the riding and the stop overs. Thanh did a great job of giving the cultural significance of where we stopped.
Mike was a great guide , the biking and visiting different family businesses was so interesting . Dodging the Hoi A traffic on a bike had its moments but all part of the experience.
Had such an amazing time, the guides are lovely, the places they take you are very memorable and definetly worth it to get out of the busy tourist area, they show you the amazing countryside along with the buffalos, rice paper making, weaving and where they make the happy water which you get to taste, our guide was mike he was great to chat with!
Lanh was a great tour guide for our lovely bike ride around the countryside of Hoi An! Our family really enjoyed our experience and the child seat worked great for our 4 year old!
Really nice tour, our guide Lanh takes care of everyone who’s in the tour. Make us in the most comfortable way to do the tour.
This is a must do ! To really see the true Hoi An and not just the Ancient Town, this is a must do. The people along the way, the family businesses visited the ride through the fields, it was great. The pacing was good also with multiple stops. As a person who rarely ever rides a bicycle the pacing was good. Now, I would recommend not going in the heat like I did. It was over 90s degrees (F) but even still was worth the sweat. The guide was informative and so helpful - paying close attention to the group to ensure we were today. He provided great safety instructions ahead of time which helped with navigating the large group. I think 8 is the right size to ensure you don’t feel overwhelmed or overlooked. All around great part of my Hoi An trip. Definitely recommended!
I loved this tour. As a not very experienced bike rider it was well suited for me. It was such a nice way to experience the Hoi An countryside. It was great to see the stops along the way, a highlight for me was noodle making. Our guide Linh was very knowledgeable and personable and made us feel safe and welcome. Would highly recommend.
Lanh was a fabulous guide for a great morning ride with lots of local experiences!
Howard was brilliant and we saw so many local Communities. We were safe and well led . Brilliant
Had a lot of fun on this trip. Biking was a wonderful was to explore areas I hadn’t seen before. Guides were all lovely and made the trip easy and entertaining
We had Tam as our tour guide - he was awesome! The bikes worked well, we stopped at a great coffee shop along the way. We had a lot of fun learning about the family temple, how to make rice products, mats, and the rice wines. The first 10 minutes biking through the city / across the bridge was a little scary (just cause of the traffic, if you're not totally comfortable on a bike this might not be for you).
Guides were great lovely way to see the countryside around Hoi An
Great day exploring the country around HoiAn, visiting and seeing some of the traditional villages and crafts. Guide was great. Although it was hot we had plenty of stops and it was very pleasant. Would recommend
Quang was an exceptionally excellent guide. We absolutely loved this tour. Do not miss this if you are in Hoi an.
Great tour highly recommend. Easy ride very informative beautiful countryside..
The cycling tour we went on with Howard was absolutely fantastic. Off the beaten track and away from cars for the most part. The paths we took were not difficult. We visited authentic Vietnamese homes where they operated different family businesses including making rice paper, weaving mats and even then visiting a temple. Howard’s knowledge was first rate and he was engaging the whole time looking out for us on the bike. I would definitely put this on your list when you Hoi An.
