Our jeep tour was fantastic! On a very wet day in Hoi An our tour guide Thanh and driver Tim made our day one of the best of our holiday! Thanh was a great communicator and very informative, without being boring - highly recommend! This hands on tour shows you the authentic Vietnam, by visiting local family homes. We all had the opportunity to make rice noodles which were then made into a delicious crunchy snack and accompanied by some tea. We learned the old fashioned and modern way of making incense sticks as well as helping to weave a mat. We were treated to the best coffee we’ve ever had (included with tour) at the small coffee factory and met the owner. The coconut boat ride was a highlight mainly because the ‘granny’ who rowed the boat was hilarious. The boat ride also very beautiful. Finally there was the wonderful scents from the herb farm.
This tour I would highly recommend to all. Our tour guide Thanh and jeep driver Tim were so helpful and caring making each experience thoroughly interesting and enjoyable. It was hands on experiences. The tourist operators at each tourist destination were obliging with assisting us to learn their chosen crafts. The whole day I would have to rate a 10 out of 10. Thankyou so much for allowing us to make more memories.
It was a fantastic day with kha he was fantastic gave us fantastic info fantastic food and so nice to see places we would not normally see on a big tour highly recommend
Had a fantastic day our guide kha was amazing lots of of knowledge and info
Fun and informative afternoon tour with a highly knowledgeable and ultra pleasant guide (Kha) and safe driver (Long). Its a great pace of tour, visiting interesting locals engaged in various traditional activities such as rice noodle making, matt weaving, incense making. Super nice people who deserve the support they get through this tour. We took the option to have dinner and were very satisfied.
Kha was our guide and he was excellent! Very knowledgeable, friendly and great at showing us around. Recommend if you have some spare time while in Hoi An to explore the surrounding area.
What a great day meeting the beautiful down to earth people and experienced the local way these guys do everyday living. Thanh over and above guiding us through this unique experience with Tim driving us through traffic and narrow lane ways with expertise. Thanks
Amazing experience seeing the town in a Jeep. Ben and Trieu were terrific and shared their local knowledge and relationships that were priceless. Highly recommend. Thank you again.
Was on my own visiting Hoi An for a few days. Tour was great way to experience the various local industries in the rural area around Hoi An. Kha was a great guide and he spoke good English!
What a great day out, Hannah was terrific, informative, friendly and welcoming. We visited the rice/noodle making lady, incense maker, the mat making couple ( they were so lovely) We went to a fantastic coffee shop( Calvary) and I highly recommend the coconut coffee. We then went on to the cocunut boats, this was fun. To finish off we stopped at Tra Que Vegetable Village, we had some excellent food here. The trip was well planned out, you don't feel obliged to buy any of the crafts on display, it was just the 4 of us on our trip and the length of time at each stop was perfect. Hannah made our day! I would highly recommend this day out. Thanks again Hannah, we had the best day ever!!
Brilliant day out. So much packed into one day and our guide Hannah, and driver Vu were first class! We met so many lovely people in their homes in the villages and the tour was well paced. We did incense making, rice paper making, mat weaving, had delicious coffee, a lunch in the community vegetable garden which was delicious, and had a trip on a coconut boat. A fabulous trip that was so much fun and highly recommend - you won’t be disappointed!
This was a brilliant day and I can’t recommend the trip highly enough. Well paced, covering so much and we met some wonderful people in their homes on the villages. We did rice paper and noodle making, learned to make incense sticks, had a go at making mats that the Vietnamese people slew on. We then went for the most wonderful coffee followed by a coconut boat trip and wonderful late lunch in the community garden village. Hannah our guide was so helpful, fun and informative. Best day ever and one we will never forget! Thank you for a great day out!
Our guide Kha was amazing. We got to see rice noodle making, mother of pearl inlay, wood carving, mat making and incense making. It was incredible to see the traditional craftsmanship and techniques that continue into today. Absolutely worth the time and money. Driving around in the jeep was the perfect way to get around. Highly recommended.
This tour was one and maybe top of many highlights from our Vietnam holiday. Sonny our guide was great, very friendly, excellent English, and overall a very fun person. He shared stories about local villages and Vietnam life that were exactly what we were hoping for, and we will remember forever. He also tracked down local herbs from local farmers to help our daughter who had a cold . Highly recommend ++, exceeded our high expectations.
Kha (our guide) and Long (our driver) were both fantastic. Knowledgeable, personable and fun. Would highly recommend this tour with them.
Amazing tour with a true local vibe, T was our guide and I couldn’t recommend her more! She was fun, very insightful and made our tour memorable and very worth it!
The tour was an excellent escape from the city and into the country. Kha was an excellent guide! Friendly and great with the kids too!
Kha is a great guide! He has amazing stories and the tour was very entertaining
KAH was such a great guide! He has great energy & very knowledgeable.
Kha was an amazing guide. He made sure the everyone in the group was included and having a great time. He took the time to know everyone's names.
We had an amazing day on the Hoi A Rural Tour Experience with our fantastic tour guide, Kha. He was a great tour guide, always happy and take the gets photos. The whole day was superb, from the beautiful scenery to meeting local craftspeople and seeing traditional Vietnamese crafts being made, including incense making, straw mats making and rice paper making. We also got to explore the countryside and rural areas, followed by a fantastic lunch. The entire experience was excellent from start to finish
Trang is a wonderful guide, knowledgeable and well educated. A local from the surrounding villages and farmlands, she is well known to many local families and businesses. A full afternoon visiting local families, farms and learning culture. Great day. Highly recommended.
Booked with Kha for several events, extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Worked with us so my husband could get as much as possible from events as we had to us wheelchair for any distance covered. When I went to see items to hard for him to access Kha ensured he was in shade and could still view other things. Transportation was always of high standard and air conditioned. I f I was able to give higher rating I would. Booked through Local Buddy Tour Guide
Fantastic morning full of interesting visits and a beautiful lunch. Lanh an Tam did did a brilliant job. Highly recommend
Great tour by Kha. Very enjoyable and the guide was very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone.
We honestly can't stop talking about this tour! It started exactly on time, as promised — no waiting around, no surprises, just straight into an epic ride in a super cool military jeep that instantly made the whole day feel like an adventure. The tour took us deep into rural villages to see how people in Vietnam actually live, away from all the touristy spots — such an eye-opening and authentic experience. Our guide Lam was phenomenal: excellent English, incredibly knowledgeable, and constantly sharing insights about local life, history, and culture that we never would've picked up on our own. What really made it special was how flexible Lam was — he happily adjusted the route to fit what we wanted to see more of. On top of everything, he turned out to be an amazing photographer, capturing shots of us we didn't even know we needed! From start to finish, the whole experience was awesome. Super friendly, super professional, and 100% recommended for anyone who wants a real, unforgettable look at Vietnam. Ask for Lam — you won't regret it!
Lam & Long were fantastic tour guides. It was great experiencing the back streets of Hoi An, visiting locals homes as they make a living either with making noodles or creating beautiful incense. The locals are very welcoming. You also get to have a go as well (albiet poorly in my case) and the ride in the 1960's army jeep was awesome. I highly recommend this adventure while visiting Hoi An
Kha was a great tour guide! Very friendly and knowledgeable. A must-do tour in Vietnam
Great tour. Enjoyed the variety. The family's were lovely, friendly and accepting. Fantastic guide and great driver. Would recommend in a heart beat
We had such a lovely morning seeing the countryside of Hoi An. We fit in so many activities, including coconut boat & trying delicious coffee, we especially loved visiting the local farm & seeing all the produce. Kha was a great guide, answering all our questions. Really recommend it!!
We had a fantastic time on this tour with Kha. He was very informative and spoke great English. We had a good driver and felt very safe. The tour takes you out of the city area into rural areas where you see a different perspective of village life. We had such a good time and I would highly recommend this tour with Kha!
Excellent tour with Kha!!! He was articulate and knowledgable. This tour was the best one we’ve been on so far. Kha was great and informative. We saw so many things and did activities. My daughter who is 12yo loved it. Being in the Jeep was extra special and cool. The driver was great and very safe. We enjoyed seeing all the rural aspects of the local people and attending the local restaurant for lunch. 5 stars is not enough for this trip!!!
Our guide, Trang, and driver, Trieu, were outstanding. From the moment the tour began, they made us feel welcome and ensured we had a memorable and authentic experience. Trang was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and engaging, providing fascinating insights into the local culture and traditions throughout the day. The tour took us through a village near Hoi An’s Old Town, where we were able to watch demonstrations of how local foods and traditional products are made. Meeting the local villagers and learning about their crafts and way of life was a real highlight and gave us a much deeper appreciation of the region. Lunch was at a wonderful local restaurant, where we enjoyed a delicious selection of traditional dishes. It was one of the best meals we had during our stay and a fantastic opportunity to sample authentic local flavours. Another standout stop was Cavalry Coffee. We were so impressed by the quality of the coffee and the welcoming atmosphere that we returned in our own time later in the trip. It quickly became one of our favourite places in Hoi An. Overall, this was a well-organised, informative and enjoyable tour. Trang and Trieu were an exceptional team, and their warmth, professionalism and local knowledge made the experience truly special. Thank you for helping create such wonderful memories of Hoi An.
Great day out, sensational guide, Kha. The jeep was surprisingly comfortable
Our family of 4 took the tour with Trang. Being a local to the area she shared fascinating insights into the culture and way of life of the people living there. We were entertained the whole time with the humorous stories from her personal life which she so generously shared. Would recommend this tour without hesitation.
Amazing to spend the day in the countryside, meeting artisans and immersing ourselves in local life. Our host Fairy was exceptional - warm, lively, knowledgeable and eager to share her culture. Our driver was great too and being in a 1960’s jeep added to the experience. The tour was a highlight in Hoi An for us. Highly recommend and worth the cost.
The guide has good knowledge of the region/country and knows the places to visit. Very good, good English and nice person (Kha).
We had a great time with our guide Thanh and our driver (who was very impressive! He maneuvered through some very tight alleys in a stick shift and drove through a crazy downpour!) The families we visited were very friendly and Thanh was informative and funny, we learned a lot on this tour. The length of time at each stop was perfect, I was worried it would be too short based on the itinerary but it ended up being exactly right. A big rainstorm hit while we were driving between spots in the open jeep but the driver stopped and quickly got us rain ponchos and was a very good driver despite the poor visibility. They were so great that the rain wasn’t even an issue! We also appreciated that there was no pressure to buy anything additional, Thanh made sure we knew that all of the families were paid as part of the tour fee that we initially paid (although we did end up getting some souvenirs at each stop because we liked them!)
We really enjoyed our tour! Our guide, Thanh (apologies if I spelled it incorrectly!), was super fun and friendly, we really enjoyed learning about local culture from him. The USSR Jeep was really cool, even though we got drenched in a downpour. The driver was skilled, and also really nice! My 18 year old son liked this tour just as much as my 25 year old daughter did, so it’s a good option for mixed age and interest groups. Definitely a great way to see more of the area than just the tourist districts, and I’d highly recommend this tour.
We toured with Kha and we had a fantastic time. He provided us with such a personalized trip and shared insight about the locals we wouldn’t have known otherwise. We loved getting to try out different trades with the locals and have come away with memories and mementos. Thank you, Kha!
Kha was a brilliant tour guide, very friendly and knowledgeable, highly recommend this tour! Perfect half day experience in Hoi An if you like to see local crafts and people.
Kha was very knowledgeable and had good communication skills which made our excursion enjoyable and excellent value for money. Would recommend!
Booked online and had excellent communication throughout the booking and confirmation process.
Kha was very helpful! And extremely fun!
With my elderly parents and a 5 month old baby in tow, we are always looking for well paced activities with air conditioning and rest stops! This tour was amazing! Lanh would often hold my baby as we were making rice paper or incense or whatever the next activity was and the van has nice cold air conditioning to cool down in as we travelled between activities. This tour was the perfect way to be immersed in local culture without the hustle of a typical tour. You’re able to really go at your pace. It’s lovely to support local artisans but also be really hands on with each visit. The lunch offered is exceptional. Much better than most lunches we’ve had on tours.
We had an absolutely fantastic tour with Brian around the countryside and local neighborhoods surrounding Hoi An. It was a wonderful opportunity to experience authentic local life, meet talented artisans, and learn about traditional crafts. One of the highlights was learning how to make rice noodles from scratch, which gave us a real appreciation for the work and skill involved. The tour was both informative and engaging, offering insights into the culture, history, and daily life of the area. We finished the day with a delicious lunch featuring fresh herbs and ingredients grown locally, which was the perfect ending to a memorable experience. Brian was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and entertaining throughout the tour. His passion for the local culture really made the experience special. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Hoi An who wants to see a more authentic side of the region. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 – Highly recommended!
interesting experience out of city. not wise to opt for more costly army jeep during summer as there is no aircon
## ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five Stars for Lanh! If you want to escape the crowds and see the **real Vietnam**, book this tour. Our guide, **Lanh**, made the entire experience unforgettable. He was incredibly knowledgeable, funny, and felt more like a friend showing us around than a tour guide. **The Highlights:** * **Authentic Village Life:** We loved meeting local families to learn traditional weaving and rice paper making. * **River Islands:** The scenery on Cam Kim Island and the basket boat ride were breathtaking. * **The Personal Touch:** As a private tour, **Lanh** tailored everything to our pace and shared stories you won’t find in guidebooks. **Don’t miss out—request Lanh for the best experience!**
A good private tour to see and experience a different side of Hoi An. Friendly and knowledgeable guide.
