Hoang took us on an excellent tour of farming and fishing. We went to the vegetable farm and were shown how different vegetables grow. Also a very different way of watering! Then the fishing village trip which was very interesting, learning the different ways they fish in Hoi An. We went to Hoang's house and learned how to make Vietnamese pancakes. The lunch was delicious and Hoang was a great guide. Would recommend.

A really enjoyable tour to see and learn about farming & fishing in Hoi An. Hoang was lovely, explaining Vietnamese life to us. He also accommodated my husbands sore knee by taking him on the back of his motorbike. Loved the chance to try making the pancake and the lunch provided was delicious. A great day! Thankyou to Hoang and his wife!
Fantastic local tour - a variety of activities including farming, fishing, cycling, banana boat rides, cooking demonstrations and a lunch at the owner’s house. Well paced, fantastic food and no pushing shopping etc.. Well done!!
Mr Hoang was a kind, thoughtful, and flexible guide who provided us with a collection of experiences from the playful to the educational. We opted to use our homestay’s provided bikes, and he guided us from there to a number of sites around his village and the surrounding rice paddies. Riding in a basket boat and sitting on a water buffalo were fun, but I particularly enjoyed our host’s clear and charming explanation and demonstration of rice farming and production, especially hulling and polishing rice using the same hand tools his parents used. The meal that concluded our brief cooking class was delicious (and felt well earned after our cycling and water buffalo-sitting). After lunch, our host led us safely back home.
Hoang is a knowledgable, nice, and helpful guide. He made the trip memorable and his wife is an excellent cook. Thank you for a wonderful lunch.
I went on the tour with my 8 year old son. We had a great day! I was driving a bike with my son seated behind me while Mr. Hong was driving motorbike very slowly and guiding our private tour. Mr. Hong was really nice and gave us good information along the way. After a good day program we drove to he's home, where we were served a delicious home cooked meal. Thisbwas one of the best things we did in Hoi An and recommend it highly! :)) Thanks again Mr. Hong & family!
We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Hoi An Eco Tourism! The tour was well-organised, and every moment was enjoyable. Hoang was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about showcasing the beauty and culture of Hoi A farming and fishing. From the bike riding to the hands-on activities like traditional fishing and coconut boat rowing, every part of the tour felt authentic and immersive. It was amazing to learn about rice farming and to have an amazing cooking lesson Hoang’s home. This is a must-do for anyone visiting Hoi An! Highly recommend!
Our family had an incredible experience on the biking and fishing tour with Mr. Hoang in Hoi An. Traveling with our 4- and 7-year-old, we were amazed at how engaging and well-paced the entire tour was. We started by biking from our villa through the stunning rice fields, soaking in the beautiful countryside. Mr. Hoang’s warmth and knowledge made every stop fascinating. We learned how to cast fishing nets and even fished for crabs, which was a huge hit with our kids! One of the highlights was learning about the traditional rice-making process — interactive and fun for all ages. The tour wrapped up with a delicious, home-cooked meal at Mr. Hoang’s house, making us feel like part of his family. This experience was the perfect mix of adventure, education, and authentic local culture. We highly recommend it to any family visiting Hoi An!
Best time ever! Has been my favourite tour! Super interesting and hands on experience- authentic family vibes and meal
Beautiful day ! Very authentic day ! The guide is excellent : he is very kind, explanations about rice culture and fishing are very interesting.
We had a fantastic experience with John. Not only was he an amazing and patient guide -with great sense of humor- but he took some of the best photos and videos we have of our trip so far. I was a bit hesitant about riding a bicycle through the fields but he made me feel very comfortable and made sure we were always safe in traffic. Cycling was definitely the best way to to experience the local life in the villages. Lunch was incredibly tasty, we learned how to make some pancakes we later ate. Thank you John!
Excellent tour. Well thought through. Mr Hoang did a great job introducing local farming and fishing to our family. Not just the adults but the children loved the experience too. We tried our hands at farming and fishing and also cooking too…
The tour had 3 parts, comprising of a visit to the vegetable farm, rice farm and fishing experience in coconut boat. The fishing experience was great fun. A great excursion for a family with kids of all ages.
This tour is a must if you’re in Hoi An! Mr. Hoang and his family are extremely welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. My wife and I met Mr. Hoang at our hotel in Hoi An and started the tour biking through the surrounding rice fields. We first stopped at a garden where we learned about the local harvesting and helped plant and water vegetables in a beautiful garden. Afterwards we visited Mr. Hoang home where we learned of the traditional rice harvesting methods and made home-cooked Vietnamese pancakes along with a few other delicious traditional dishes. His wife and family are so kind and the food is exceptional. I highly recommend this tour. Mr. Hoang and his family are extremely accommodating and will make your visit to Hoi An all the more memorable!
Our guide Mr. Hoang was absolutely fantastic!!! He was so knowledgeable and it was incredibly enjoyable speaking with him about Vietnamese life. This was hands down one of the best tours my husband and I have ever been on. It was very well planned and organized and not gimmicky at all. Felt very authentic. I find that often times tours are our tourist trap to get people to spend money. This was not that. It was just fantastic. At the end of the day we were invited back to his home and met his wonderful family. His wife gave us a cooking lesson and helped us prepare some extra delicious foods. 10,000 out of 10! This is a must must do!! Thank you again Hoang!!
Our cruise ship was docked at Chan May port (09:00 to 17:00) and we had booked a tour of Hoi An and the surrounding rural area with Hoi An Eco Tourism. We had opted not to buy the port pickup permit, so we had to walk outside the port for pickup. It’s important to note that the first “Chan May Port” sign is still inside the port (some guides were waiting there), so you need to continue walking to actually get outside the port and find the other guides, without the port permit. The tour was very well organized, and the guide spoke very good English. Despite our ship’s late arrival, everything went smooth and we got to see and experience so many things – farming activities, a buffalo ride, a basked boat tour and the city Hoi An. We also had a delicious lunch at our guides house. We had a great day and would highly recommend this tour!
Thrilled with this experience of local life, hands on experience of farming, fishing and cooking. Cycling around the village was fantastic. Very authentic experience would highly recommend
The organization of this tour is fine. We had and very nice guide and were generously received for the cooking class. Everything was fine. Thank you!
