The trip with our tour guide Thuan and our driver Binh was very entertaining and at the same time we heard a lot about Vietnamese culture and thinking. We met local families in their homes and they showed us their crafting skills and the way they lived. Time passed by so quickly and Thuan even prepared a cake for my husband’s birthday. While driving we saw the the beautiful landscape and we were shown some hidden places. We had a wonderful time. Thank you!

Absolutely fantastic. We had Fairy as our tour guide, she is an absolute legend. So contagiously funny and informative, I was sad when the tour was over.

Had a great few hours on this tour. Very informative get to experience a local of traditional crafts and meet some amazing people. Trieu and Thuan do an amazing job looking after you. Thuan is very informative and a great photographer would defiantly highly recommend him.

This trip is worth it. Guide Kha is brilliant with all his knowledge. The trip isn't rushed and you are encouraged to participate in the demonstrations. We had a fabulous day even the rain couldn't spoil it

I really enjoyed the trip — Thuan was amazing and very friendly. We had a great time spending the day with him and getting a glimpse into local life. It was a wonderful opportunity to see how people live and work and to experience authentic Vietnamese culture. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to explore the real Vietnam.

we had a private tour with Sunny visiting local merchants and learning about the local culture..Sunny was very knowledgeable and so fun to be with. Great trip with a fun ride and perfect variety of activities! Very interesting to learn about local customs and work. Kha was very knowledgeable and a good company. We were with a 2 years old which was not a problem, he enjoyed every bit as well.

Exceptional tour with Brian. A true experience around Hoi An villages with visits to local artisans . Truly recommend this for anyone that wants to explore more local areas. The tour guides we had Kha and Tam were the sweetest, we went to some great spots and they told us all about them, overall we had a great time and I highly recommend doing tours with them.

We had a private tour, just for our family of 5 including teenagers. We did the tour in a refurbished, very well-maintained Vietnamese military jeep, from 1990. The tour was excellent! The guide Ben was very friendly, very knowledgeable, patient and spoke excellent English. He explained and showed us the local life of Hoi An’s countryside, it was interesting and fascinating for all of us, from young kid to teenagers and adults, we all had a great day and enjoyed the tour very much! We would absolutely recommend it!

Great day out in the countryside around Hoi An. We rode in an old army-style jeep that fit all six of us comfortably. Stopped by a local village where we tried making incense sticks, had coffee out in the rice paddies next to an old brick furnace you could climb for a cool view and some pics. Also visited a whale-worshipping village and saw some amazing scenery along the way. Our guide Ben was awesome — super friendly and explained everything in a way that was easy to follow. Cold water and beer were available the whole time, and the lunch was solid. Perfect tour for a family looking for a fun, relaxed adventure with a local touch.

Chicky & Nine were THE BEST tour guides! This is a must do activity if you are in Hoi An. The scenery is amazing when you experience it on the back of a Vespa, and this is a great opportunity to visit local families and give your money directly to them, in an authentic experience. We learned how to make rice paper, incense and weave sleeping mats. We went through the Hoi An countryside and saw locals fishing, buffalo and cows in the fields, went on coconut boats (and caught a few crabs!) and ended in the vegetable village which was absolutely beautiful and enjoyed a delicious lunch (the best food we have had in Vietnam so far!) While the day itself was amazing, the guides really were the best part. Friendly, knowledgeable, and fun, Chicky and Nine made us feel so comfortable all day and gave us so much interesting information about everything we were seeing - AND they took the most AMAZING photos of us all day, so now we have memories we will cherish forever! I am already thinking of booking with them again for a trip in Da Nang and will be recommending them to all of my family and friends! Make sure you don’t miss this experience in Hoi An, it was the highlight of our trip!

Hannah and our driver Tríen were amazing. They took such good care of my son and I. We had some much fun seeing the local village and the local trades in the old ways. Best tour we have done in Vietnam!! Definitely worth the money.

We had a fantastic Vespa tour through the villages of Hoi An. We got a glimpse of real local life, seeing how rice milk is made and how carpets are woven. We also tasted some incredibly delicious coffee. It was so much fun! The beautiful nature and authentic daily life of Hoi An residents truly impressed us. And of course, the most entertaining part of the tour was the basket boats at the end, where a lively local party took place. If you want to experience local life, see vast rice plantations, and enjoy plenty of smiles and laughter, this tour is a must! Highly, highly recommend! Thank you for an amazing time! Outstanding trip! Highly recommend! We went as a family of 4 (young adult children) and had a blast! Our guide was really knowledgeable and friendly. It is super fun to see the countryside on a Vespa and they arrange multiple stops to meet local artisans.

I loved the tour! It takes you to non-touristy places where there are only locals. It allows you to get to know the Vietnamese culture and customs and to take part in them. In addition, the guides are very nice and will answer any questions you may have. Thank you Ben!

Local Buddy Tours are a fantastic company. We are a UK family of four, our two teenagers were a little nervous about going on the scooters but Thanh and his three fellow riders were amazing. Very professional, reassuring, safe and fun, they took us to local homes to see a taste of village life. We helped to fry rice paper, and weave traditional sleeping mats. We saw a boat temple dedicated to whales, we went crab fishing by boat, we saw a beautiful vegetable farm at sunset, and finished at a magical restaurant overlooking all the lanterns on the river. It's clear Thanh and the team have much respect for the local people. Special shout out to Lanh for his great information. This tour is highly recommended!

We recently went on 4 private tours with Ben and his team of guides at Local Buddy Tours (Hoi An Walking Tour, Countryside by Motorbike, My Son by US Army Jeep, Full day at Marble/Monkey Mountains, Hai Van Pass and mountain spring/waterfalls). The experiences we had on those days were the highlights of our trip. We got to see the real Vietnam, meet the locals, visit their houses, try making rice noodles, weaving mats, making lanterns and generally see things that the average tourist doesn't. Our main guides were Happy-Tea, Sunny and Ben (supported by the rest of the team - drivers, bike riders and more), all very knowledgeable and passionate locals who were very excited to show us their town and people. Local Buddy Tours is a very well run operation, making sure we saw as much as we could, but also being very flexible based on our family's specific needs, energy levels and weather conditions. Local Buddy also supports locals who want to earn English and we spent an enjoyable Sunday morning with a group of his students at a local cafe, helping them get used to our Aussie/English accents! This was the best tour we have done in vietnam, such a privelege to visit people in their homes and share experiences and stories, topped off with a huge fresh set menu meal. Our guides were so patient and attentive with cold drinks on hand. Weaving through the back villages and fields in amongst the local families.

This tour was one on my highlights in Vietnam. As a 59year old female and doing this tour by myself I felt very comfortable and safe with Thanh in his presence and on the back of his bike. Thanh could speak excellent English and did not rush anything at all. It was great having hands on experience when visiting all the places and the locals were also very friendly. We did everything promised on the itinerary and the dinner we had at the end really did exceed my expectations. I will definitely recommend LOCAL BUDDY TOURS to my family and friends and will be sure to do another tour with them when I return to Vietnam one day. Thanks Thanh your a gem!

Fantastic experience. Felt like we saw the real Vietnam. Off the beaten track and could only be done by motorbike. Thanh was great guide with excellent English. We were not experienced on bikes but felt safe and comfortable. Highly recommend.

The tour was an amazing experience! The pickup was convenient and the cold water provided was much appreciated. Riding pillion with the experienced driver was thrilling. Had a great day with our three guides! When we first asked for the experience during Tet, we were told ‘no’, then the office wrote back and said they had ‘reconsidered’ and would be able to put a tour together. We really appreciated their honesty about the importance of their holiday and effort to create a tour around their schedule. Loved going to local homes/businesses to learn about traditional businesses - learned about making rice pancakes and straw mats. We went to a boat shaped temple where fisherman hope for safe travels and there are some whale bones stored. We crossed many types of bridges throughout the day. We went to a small canal to ride in a basket boat and fished/hunted for small crabs. We also meet 'Lo' the water buffalo and we each got a short ride. We saw fish and shrimp farms and many types of vegetable gardens and crops. What a busy and adventurous day of learning and experiences. We made new friends with our guides, learned much about Vietnam food and traditions and had many laughs. Yes, you should do this too!

We absolutely LOVED this tour around the Hoi An villages on motorbikes. We’re on a four-week holiday in Vietnam and this was hands down the highlight for us. We cannot recommend this tour and our guide, Thanh, more highly. I’m travelling with my parents who are in their 70s and Thanh and his team took excellent care of us - especially my mother, who was initially hesitant about the motorbikes, buffalo, etc. But Thanh and the team immediately put her at ease and she can’t stop talking about how much fun she had! The motorbike drivers are very experienced and we all felt very safe on the bikes. We love that this tour supports and gives back to local villages and people, and we got to truly experience local life, crafts, and trades with some of the loveliest people we’ve ever met. Everything is impeccably organised, informative, interesting, and fun! Thank you to Thanh, his team, and Local Buddy Tours for such an incredible and memorable experience.

It’s hard to highlight anything specifically because every moment was wondrous and invigorating. We met many local craftspeople who shared what they do and enjoyed teaching us. The adventures never stopped. Tank and Carol are committed to supporting people in their community, learning about what they are creating and then teaching us. We spent many hours on the motorbike itself, which was so much fun- going over rivers and through rice fields, villages and farms. We got all our questions answered with enthusiasm and perfect English. I was in Vietnam for 3 weeks and this was definitely one of my highlights. It was the closest I felt to understand the life of a Vietnamese family living in a small village. I would give it ten stars for quality, fun, educational and authentic. Thank you!!

it wasnt the first trip with local buddy tours, but by far the best so far. ben took us with an army jeep from hoi an to da nang, then over the scenic hai van pass to the blue lagoon. from there we went to a waterfall and spent the afternoon. one of the most beautiful places we have ever been to!!! the fresh water, the view, the people, the food, absolutely fantastic. we highly recommend this operator with his tailor made tours.

This is one of the best things I have ever done on a holiday . Tu was fantastic-very friendly, knowledge *& accomodating. it was fun, and we learnt so much about the people and life in Vietnam that we wouldnt have ever seen otherwise. I couldn't recommend this tour enough!
