Thuan was an excellent guide. We enjoyed the village tour and learned about the local culture. He made us felt comfortable and he explained the details very well.

The noodles are thicker and chewier than regular noodles, made using water from ancient local wells and lye from regional wood ash. At this local family home, you’ll see how Cao Lau noodles are handmade using traditional methods passed down through generations, making this dish a true symbol of Hoi An’s culinary heritage.
Farming Experience In Tra Que Vegetable Farm: We'll start the tour with a short bike ride on quiet country roads, about 3 km. Then we'll take a short walk in Tra Que vegetable farm. Talk to friendly locals working in their gardens. Smell amazing herbs and take pictures of beautiful veggie field. Meet a local farmer, help him work the soil, plant baby veggies and water the plants with water buckets on your shoulders.
Coconut Groves & Water Buffaloes Cycle along scenic paths lined with beautiful coconut trees, a peaceful highlight of the countryside. Along the way, you’ll meet friendly water buffaloes, a symbol of rural Vietnam. Guests can take photos, interact with them, and may even try riding a water buffalo. Please let us know in advance if you wish to do so, as prior arrangement is required.
Unique Experience on the round basket boat After riding a bike through beautiful rural villages and endless rice paddies, you will reach a fishing village. The local people here have been using the round-basket boat to catch fish for years. But as a tourist, you can join to take a fun ride on the round basket boat to catch some small crabs in the green water coconut forest.
Local Coffee Stop Take a break at a cozy local coffee spot popular with nearby villagers. Enjoy a freshly made Vietnamese coffee or cold drink in a relaxed, friendly setting, where you can sit, chat, and experience everyday local life away from tourist areas.

Wonderful way to see the traditional farming, local culture and help farm! We had a great time on this tour, a must do while here!
Visited some local families, insight into how they live and farm on a daily basis. Fun and informative. Tourist attractions also worth doing like coconut boats.
This tour was an amazing way of exploring the rural livelihood in Hoi An. We had so much fun cycling with Carol and Phuong, covering more than 10km for 5 hours. We would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a mini adventure with buddies. Lunch arranged was delicious too. Great memories 😊.
Fantastic day out with the family. Ben was so friendly and accommodating to us all! Highly recommended
“Local buddies” really was like spending the day with a friend. Carole was a great host. V friendly and informative. Nice flat easy route. The trip was a perfect mix of fun with local knowledge. A brilliant morning with the best lunch included! V good compared to a diff cycle tour I did.
We did great trip with a very informative tour guide! We went across the nice and peaceful rice paddies. We enjoyed these outdoor activities very much. Thank you for serving great tour!
This might just have been my favorite experience in Vietnam. While the surroundings are beautiful and lend themselves to a spectacular visual overload, on a biking trip, your guide plays a huge role in shaping your experience. And I could not recommend Lan more. She was the most amazing guide and was extremely knowledgeable and patient in showing me around. With a genuine personality and excellent communication skills, she is the person for you, if you are looking to bike along bucolic Vietnam with a kindred spirit.
I have been to Hoi an many times and this would have to be one of the best days I’ve had. Ben was fantastic. We did a full day cycling in the country side, palm village and island. We met loads of local families and experience their way of life. Everyone single interaction was special. The thing I really liked is that Ben did not push anything onto us and didn’t try to sell anything just very sincere. He donates money back to the farmers and locals which we really supported. Also a quick mention on the food. Not only was it all delicious but also plentiful. If anything too much. We will definitely use him again and highly recommend Local Buddy Tours. Thanks Ben!!!!
The tour was very good! We saw different farmers and could help to plant some spinach. Ben and Lan gave us interesting informations about the country. The bycicles were also very good! The ride on the water buffalo was funny. We highly recommend this tour and local buddy tours!
My husband and I attended the private bike riding tour today and loved it. We saw and got to experience so much of daily Hoi An life, meet locals and really get involved! Whether it was farming with local farmers, learning some Vietnamese from our amazing tour guide Tu, riding a water buffalo or riding with a non-english speaking Vietnamese woman in a basket boat, this tour is an amazing and relaxing way to get to see a lot of the city you couldn't get without a guide to lead you and translate for you. Our tour guide was hilarious and clearly genuinely cared about us having the best time possible. He joked, made us feel comfortable and took some amazing photos along the way for us (attached). The bike ride itself was very relaxed. Tu provided us with water, direction for the occasional busy road we need to cross as well as valuable information along the way. Additionally the roads travelled did not provide many challenges as it was very flat and we were able to choose our own speeds. To finish the day we were treated to a 6 course meal for dinner making this experience serious value for money with so much packed in to just half a day! I would recommend this tour to anyone coming to Hoi An.
I visited Hoi An with my friend. Unfortunately my friend felt sick and stayed at hotel. The great guide Tran came to pick me up on time. I visited many places and he introduced farmers work and explained me about many interesting buildings. Also he kept making sure to across the road and I felt safe. Thank you very much for great tour!
The tour was perfect to go out for a day and see the countryside around Hoi An. Tu and Lan were perfect guides and helped us with everything. The cycling was laid-back and we avoided all busy roads. The activites were fun and all the locals were really kind. This is a true private experience of the Hoi An countryside and I would recommend to anyone visiting whether family, couples or solo. This is the second time I book with Local buddy tours and specifically with Tu because he is so much fun to have around. It was nice to meet Lan who was also great company to have and I would recommend both of them for a guaranteed enjoyable day out. Overall, I don't have a single complaint and would choose local buddy tours over any other tour company in the area. Thank you again Tu and Lan for yet another unforgettable day and we will surely meet again in the future!
It was just me sitting on the back of Ben's scooter, I wasn't feeling well so I opted for the scooter instead of cycling. My tour guide, Ben, who is also one of the co-founders of Local Buddy Tours, was such a great companion! He was punctual, professional, funny, speaks really really good English, and his knowledge of the area was impressive. I'm telling you, you have got to insist on meeting Ben, he's so fun (and also takes good photos) I got to see and experience things not normally seen in other tours at all. We saw the sprouts farm, the local "winery" (Vietnamese rice wine is no joke), the basket boat maker (who is 93 years-old!!!!), the beautiful Tra Que organic farm, .... Overall, a true touch to the Hoi An's local residents lives and their traditional craftmenship. Ben showed me how culturally rich this town is, far more interesting beyond the things you normally see in the touristic Quarter.
From the mung been growing to the buffallow riding and boating fun along with our guide Tu's sense of humour and timely quibbs we had a great day. His assistant Lan and himself were just an absolute pleasure to be around. A good hands on bike tour all topped off by a Riverside restaurant visit with craft ales. Highly recommended.
This bike tour was the best way to experience and see so much of Hoi An. Our guides Tu and Lam were the absolute best and made it so much fun. Riding through the back streets, farms and rice paddies was spectacular. The locals that we met were so friendly. The meal was superb and Tu ensured any dietary requirements were catered for. Have recommended this tour and Localbuddy to our friends and would highly recommend it to anyone. Thanks again Tu and Lam.
We booked a private tour by army jeep to explore the Vietnamese countryside and it was the best idea! Our guide Tu and his driver picked us up from the hotel and took us to visit local families, explore the rural side of Hoi An and visit local farms. Tu was very informative, talking about the various aspects of Vietnamese family dynamics and the history of the Hoi An people. We had such a great experience that we booked a tour with them for the next day!
Thanh was a great guide and we really enjoyed our time experiencing the local way of life. Great way to spend an afternoon and nice food at the end too.
