Ruby was great! Very informative tour with great local food options. Would recommend for anyone!
The experience with Xuân was amazing! I learnt so much about the culture in Hoi An - I had no idea at all! Meeting the locals, seeing the factories also gave me so much understanding of the kind of good consumed in Central Vietnam. The walk was for 4 hours at least and I ended up talking so much with Xuân! Certainly recommend this walk to everyone who is curious to know about Hoi An a little more!
Qunni was a wonderful guide! She is so knowledgeable and easy to talk to. It was just the two of us for the morning walk through Hoi An, she made me feel comfortable and totally at ease on our little adventure, I had such a lovely time! I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Hoi An!!
had a great time with Swan walking around the back alleys of the city and learning about local experiences! i learned a lot and it was well worth the money. we walked around together so much and I felt really comfortable talking to and learning from Swan. it's totally worth it and you get a good feel for the local experience and flavors!!!
This was a great experience, we were picked up from our hotel and met Swan. Swan was a great tour guide, She was friendly and informative. We got to meet people and see their produce. Swan took us to see people who had worked the same jobs as their family before them from beansprouts to authentic noodles. We saw how they are produced to the plate. We tasted traditional foods from trading Vietnamese restaurants and coffee houses. Swan explained our surroundings and the local people are super friendly and welcoming. The tour lasted around 4 hours and you are kept going as you see a lot. I would recommend this tour to everyone. It was superb and I can't thank Swan enough. She knew it was my husbands birthday and produced a lovely suprise birthday cake when we went for smoothies. This was a perfect personal touch and I can't thank you enough.
What an amazing tour with a woman who loves Hoi An. Ruby delivered more than a Food Tour- it was a very thoughtful and intelligently put together evening. I got to see how the ingredients for the food were ate were manufactured and understand the depth of family history behind this process. Your belly will be full, but your heart will be full too.😍
Swan was phenomenal and a lovely guide. She showed us the real Hoi An! We learned so many new things and met very kind Vietnamese people. As someone who likes to photograph this was also a great tour because the people you will visit during the tour are fine with getting photographed! We also had so much amazing food on the tour. Therefore I would recommend to not eat or only a little snack before starting this tour. I can highly recommend the tour with Swan!!!
Unforgettable experience! Totally recommend it. Our tour guide Kim was absolutely lovely and we had an amazing day.
We were a family of 5 adults. We had a pickup at 1415 and the tour ended at 1830. Our guide Swan was beautiful Viatnamis lady with good English.we saw how they produced beans sprouts- 100 kg a day at the back of an old house-only hand work; we saw how they produce rice noodles in an old yard with hand-tools-long procedures by one old man and his daughter; we walk in the market and tasted some different fruits we never saw before: we had bun in special place that bake the bans on spot: we walked in narrow alleys where people live and saw the real way of life:we had noodles in a well known place and fruit juice after.. very nice tour with excellent guide Swan and we highly recommend it
My Tour Guide Swan. Meeting Swan fir the first time, one would think we are old friends, warm and sweet. Well, for all the Vietnamese people I have met. My tour was solo and I had Swan, my tour guide alone. Very knowledgeable about the Vietnamese culture and food, which is what my tour was about. I love everything about my tour, but what stood out for my was my first stop with a lady and the vegetable that I tried. Forgive me, but I dont remember the name- the seeds are small and green which is washed and the removal of bad seeds then mixed it with sand for growth. This process was interesting. The banana cake and others which are only made during this time of year. Overall a great tour for me and one I would recommend. Swan, thanks for your lesson.
Swan is amazing, kind, patient and very knowledgeable. She made the tour fun and very informative. She knows all the right places to visit like the noodle factory, beans sprouts , and when it came to food it was on point. I recommend swan if you want value for your money
A wonderful way to experience Hoi An and it's local cuisine and people. A very informative and interesting tour which takes you to places you never would have gone on your own. Seeing and learning the traditional preparation of your everyday noodles and bean sprouts and seeing how these traditions are still being preserved today. Highly recommend. Ruby and Swan were exceptional guides and made us feel very welcomed and like we are part of the family.
This was the best food tour I experienced during my time in Vietnam. Kim was my tour guide and she took us to the locals houses to see the string beans process and the local Hoi An food process. This was very educational. We also went to the market and chose a couple of fruits to try. We stopped at 5 different restaurants- the restaurants where locals eat and everything was divine. From the banh -mi, kao lao, royal noodles, black sesame. We stopped at another locals house who makes a lot of deserts for sale and we were able to try many of them. Lastly we stopped by the last stop where we were able to try a fruit smoothie and all the fruits we picked at the market. What a great experience. Kim really made this tour unforgettable.
Xuan (Swan) and Thu (Ruby) showed us a great time and intimate perspective of Hoi An. Their tour captured some signature Hoi An dishes and lifestyles. We laughed and ate a lot and learned about each other. It was very interesting to learn about Hoi An styles of cooking and their climates agriculture. They were also able to share a lot about each dish with their culinary background. It was a very interactive way to learn about the city.
We had the pleasure to have this tour with Thuy! We experienced the old and rich culture of Hoi an through her lens. We had loads of food and Thuy also helped us learn some important Vietnamese words and sentences! Overall I highly recommend this tour.
Swan and Ruby were terrific. This was a brilliant way to see the hidden side of Hoi An, meet locals and really get under the surface of Vietnam. The best thing I have done in Vietnam so far!
Our family of 3 had the good fortune to take this tour through the hidden gems of Hoi An and we had absolutely the best afternoon. Our guide, Thùy, showed us where traditional Vietnamese noodles are made, how bean sprouts are grown and introduced us to the farmers and their techniques. Thùy was highly attentive, interesting to chat to and you could just tell how much she loved her city. We had the best afternoon and came away with full bellies ( the Bahn Mi was SO good !! ) and a lot more understanding of this beautiful corner of the world. Many thanks Thùy - was truly a pleasure to meet you :-)
This was such an interesting tour of the backstreets and unknown parts of HoiAn guide. Kim was really interesting …helpful… caring of each person only three people on this tour but we all had a really great time. Lots of interesting food tastings which we really enjoyed and learning about old Time skills and producers in and around the town. Lots of walking but we had lots of stops to sit down and try different types of food etc. It really is worth doing it. Highly recommend it.
The tour was one of the best I ever did, with real attention to showing the local economy and culture of Hoi An, and great food places selected. Swan was super knowledgeable and chatty, making sure the tour was a memorable experience.
Swan was the best guide, a genuine local who took us to places we would never have gone on our own. She showed us the real Hoi An, not the old town. We saw the traditional making of the unique local rice noodles, rice fields, bean sprouts, a market, local fruit and tasted the final products. This was a very worthwhile tour. The cao lau noodle dish was a highlight having seen the noodles made, we also had an excellent bahn mi. I was pleased to taste the sweets from where they were made.
We loved this trip. The food was absolutely delicious at each stop, and there was a lot of it! It allowed us to eat in a range of places we never would have felt comfortable to try on our own. They accommodated so well for dietary requirements - my son is allergic to peanuts and my daughter and I are vegetarian. Kim was a wonderful guide. So kind and thorough in sharing the stories and details of everywhere we went. It was a really excellent way to engage our kids (9 & 11) in conversation about vietnamese life. We did the 6am start and that was definitely best as it was already so hot by 8am! Loved this. Thank you Kim.
What a great tour with an excellent guide Kim she was so interesting and informative. We learnt such a lot after initially being a little little disappointed. It was not quite quite what I was expecting. It turned out to be a fabulous experience. Well worth doing and Kim went over and above to help me at the end get a taxi in the pouring rain so I very much appreciated.
Great tour with swan and trinh. Visiting the local streets and experiencing part of Hoi a that we would never have been to. Would recommend
Swan, was amazing! The food was wonderful. It was a unique tour and a highlight of our trip
Swan is a very good guide. Very interesting experience. Highly recommend!
Very unique experience, saw a side of Hoi An that I would’ve never been able to otherwise! Swan and Trinh were wonderful guides.
Amazing local tour with Swan & Trinh Highly recommended to everyone who like to discover hidden secrets of Hoi An
Our guide (Swan) was very generous in sharing stories and impressions from her own neighbourhood. It was intriguing to see artisans who have been doing their work for decades. We walked through alleyways full of life and texture that we never would’ve explored on our own. The food was a bonus, and it really enriched our short stay in Hoi A with a variety we would have not tasted otherwise.
This guided tour with Swan was quite unique, blending a mix of meeting local producers in their work homes as they make Cau Lau noodles, rice cakes, and grow bean shoots in sand, as well as a,walk through narrow lanes to sample some local food and drinks, a walk through a market, and a ride on an electric cart. Swan was enthusiastic and friendly with great English, and explained well. Some of the food places weren't too clean, ie toilet, and the noodles shop was pretty basic, meat was gritty so i couldnt eat it, but overall i would totally recommend this tour.
Great experience with Swan! She showed us a lot of great food and we also went to some local places!
We had such a lovely time exploring Hoi An with our guide, Swan. She was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and made the whole tour feel relaxed and enjoyable. Swan shared many interesting stories about the history, culture, and local life of Hoi An, and explained everything clearly. She also took great care of our group, answered all our questions, and helped us discover places and details that we probably would have missed on our own. Her warm personality made the experience even more special. We would definitely recommend Swan to anyone visiting Hoi An and looking for a kind, professional, and informative guide. Thank you, Swan, for a wonderful day!
Came with my family and Swan was extremely professional, she’s super friendly, and taught us a lot about the local culture. We had a great time! highly recommend this tour for family’s or for all ages
Swan is very lovely and introduced us to the best locations in Ha Noi!
Would reccomend, had a lovely culturally emmersive tour with Swan. I especially loved meeting the locals in their homes, seeing and learning the history of their families and livelyhoods. We experienced authenticity, places and foods we would have never tried if we hadnt have gone on the tour.
The experience my wife and I had during this tour was incredible, Swan is highly knowledgeable, intelligent and funny. What I enjoyed the most about this tour was the ability to experience a side of Hoi A that wouldn’t have been possible without this tour, truly a positive experience.
Swan was the most amazing tour guide who took so much care in showing us the real Hoi An. We got the see everything from factories making ingredients to the final dish coming together. Her English is perfect and tailored the session to what we love.
We had the most incredible time with Swan. Her enthusiasm for the city is amazing and we saw things we never would have otherwise. What an amazing day!
I recently went on a solo trip to Hoi An and was so glad I did this walking food tour. It was worth waking up early to learn about the people and their lives. It was such an eye opening experience to see how hard the folks work and how fresh all the food is. I was the only person signed up, so it ended up being a private tour which was awesome. We started with a much needed cup of strong Vietnamese coffee at a local home - something I've seen from the streets, but would never have the knowledge to go in and order. We tasted freshly sprouted bean sprouts, saw the production of fresh Cao Lau noodles, walked the local market and sampled fresh fruit, food stalls, banh Mi sandwiches, soup noodles, dessert and more coffee. It was truly a large sampling of different local foods. I loved sitting in the market and eating with the locals. It was all made possible by my wonderful guide, Ms. Kim. She was the ultimate Gem - she knew all the people, knew how to tell stories, knew how to navigate. I cannot say enough how safe and special it felt to walk around with someone who was so familiar with the city and the people. At one point, we walked into a home where the host wasn't there and picked a few banana wrapped desserts to eat because she knew. I would highly recommend this tour if you have time. Plan it early in your trip...it's a great way to see the real lives of locals. It was well worth the early morning wake up call and if you can, please ask for Ms. Kim. She had the cutest proper British accent from spending some time abroad. Most importantly, you can feel how much she enjoy sharing her city with guests from afar.
My trip guide Swan picked me up from my hotel, and we walked around in local areas of Hoi An. I enjoyed to see how local people live here, and Swan told me local stories too.
A background of traditional ancient ways of producing the dishes of Hoi An and seeing everyday living and housing. Great tour by the informative Kim 🙂
Excellent tour with guides Quynh and Tau! I was the only guest. They were both bright, funny, knowledgeable, and excited to show me Hoi An. The food was delicious, including classics like banh xeo and banh mi, but also some lesser-known dishes like banh dap and local specialty cao lau. Quynh kept us moving at an efficient pace to all of our stops. Would recommend to anyone coming to Hoi An.
Had a great experience on my tour. My Guide Swan was super informative and passionate about the tour. I got lots of behind the scenes insights and had some great food at places ai would have never been able to find myself. My favorite was seeing how they make Cao Lau from scratch and to taste the noodles afterwards.
We absolutely loved our tour. Xuan was the most lovely guide and very informative. We were able to experience and learn about local foods and culture. We highly recommend booking this tour to try foods and meet local people. Xuan was amazing and provided us with a fun afternoon! :)
As a family of four—a mother travelling with three teenagers—we had an absolutely fantastic time on the Hidden Gems of Hoi An tour with Swan. It was the perfect way to experience the authentic side of Hoi An beyond the usual tourist attractions. Swan was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, taking us through the back lanes of Hoi An, the beautiful rice fields, and the local market where we saw how fresh produce is bought and sold each day. We also visited local families and learned firsthand how bean sprouts and traditional noodles are made, which was fascinating. One of the highlights was the amazing local food we enjoyed throughout the tour—every stop was delicious and gave us a real taste of the region. What impressed us most was that all four of us, including my three teenagers, were genuinely engaged from start to finish. Swan’s storytelling, local insights, and friendly personality made every moment interesting and memorable. If you’re looking for an authentic, immersive experience that showcases the real Hoi An, we couldn’t recommend this tour more highly. Thank you, Swan, for such a wonderful day!
Swannnnnnnn is a legend ! We loved her she was as the best tour guide ever. Every place we went to was incredible. The food was amazing and Swan had so much knowledge we love her!
We had a great time being shown the local highlights by Thuy. She made sure to bridge the gap for us to get a real insight of what life in Hoi An is like away from the touristy hustle & bustle. We were able to discover hidden gems we would have otherwise missed. Thuy was very friendly, accommodating & went out of her way to give us a wonderful experience. We’d definitely recommend this tour as a must when you visit Hoi An.
I had an incredible and memorable experience with the lovely Swan! 🦢 I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun and informative time with yummy treats! :)
