We'll cross a bridge over the Thu Bon River to visit Cam Kim Island and experience the daily life of the islanders. Meet a 65-year-old couple, help them grind rice and make rice paper from rice milk, then enjoy local snacks like Banh Dap and Banh Beo. Next, visit another family to witness the entire process of producing organic incense from wood powders such as cinnamon and cigarwood.
Drive past beautiful rice paddies, cornfields, and herds of cows and water buffalo. Ride along the riverbank to see traditional fishing boats. Visit a mat-weaving family, where this age-old craft has been passed down through generations in rural Vietnam. Try your hand at weaving a mat and learn more about the local way of life.
Continue the adventure by driving off the beaten path and stopping at a charming coffee shop. Enjoy a refreshing cup of Vietnamese coffee, smoothie, or fruit juice, and take a break to use the washroom.

We'll make a brief stop at Tra Que Vegetable Village to see local farmers tending to their gardens, and growing a variety of vegetables. It's the perfect opportunity to take photos, enjoy the scent of fresh herbs, and learn about traditional farming methods. Afterward, we’ll head to a local restaurant or return to Hoi An Old Town. Long is a great local driver who knows how to weave in and out of the traffic safely and comfortably. They offered a private tour for our family with a guide, Vin and it was a wonderful experience to learn about traditions and local cultures in the area. Vin has been caring and kind to us. Our 9-years-old son especially enjoyed the incense making activities.
This was amazing! We saw and tried so many things we would not have seen in the city: making of mother of pearl inlay in wood, making colorful mats, making incense, fishing for crabs, taking picture with water buffalo. Fabulous late lunch. Chicky was a great guide - very proud about everything he had to show us. Best tour of the trip BY FAR!

This tour picks up from hotel. We needed to be in Hoi An ancient town at the finish and that was no problem. Door to door (where we needed). Such a fun experience! From start to end, this was really a wonderful day. Our tour guide ChickyTrung was great and gave us and the kids a lot of knowledge throughout the tour. We met a lot of really warm and friendly people. The kids got so included in all the activities. Our Tour guide knew exactly when we should take out our camera, and he also captured really beautiful moments that we recieved the same day. This was the among the best tours we've taken in our extensive travels across the world. Our guide was a burst of energy from the first second, and we knew immediately we were in for a treat. This trip was perfectly executed. We were the only tourists we saw throughout our time on the tour - a huge achievement in the hustle and bustle of Hoi An. We entered local homes, tried delicacies, saw beautiful art workshops, sat at local cafes, enjoyed a fantastic dinner, strolled through neighborhood gardens and rice fields, and rode through the water coconut forest completely alone without any other tourists in sight. It was a pleasure to support local businesses on this tour - from the operator, to the guide and driver, and all stops - it was apparent we were supporting genuinely kind and welcoming people eager to show tourists the authentic side of Hoi An. We had a great time on the trip. Much more then we expected. The description of the itinerary was less then what we’ve got. We started with a very tasty lunch and then all the sightseeing. I feel that we saw all the best of hoi an in an afternoon. We would definitely recommend this tour!
The experience was amazing. on this tour you get to experience the local culture by doing things yourself. The highlight for me was the rice making as we could actually follow the process and try do it fr ourselves. Our guide was Thanh he was very knowledgeable about the local lifestyle and was also very friendly.

I booked a tour last minute and had Mr. Thanh Tran as my local guide! The trip was really interesting and I loved that I got to experience the local life in a small countryside village. Thanh was a great guide, and shared a lot of knowledge about the history of Vietnam, the places we went to and was a fantastic travel buddy for the day! I definitely recommend him as your guide! I booked a morning tour, ending with lunch which gave me a lot of time in the afternoon to enjoy other parts of Hoi An as well on my own and I recommend to do this in the morning as it is quieter and you get a more authentic village life experience. The places we stopped were great and I got to make my own steamed rice pancake, weave a sleepingmat, and went crab fishing. Before lunch we went to a vegetable / herbal farm and Thanh explained to me the typical herbs that are used in the local cuisine. Lunch was great and I got to try a lot of different dishes I had not yet tried on my travel through Vietnam. Book this tour - it really was amazing!
One of the best tours we have done in Vietnam. All the activities were fun as we were able to interact with the locals. We get to try cooking, weaving, the buffalo ride and the round boat ride! We also visited a coffee roastery, unfortunately we don’t drink coffee. So we just tried their Ice Cacao which really tasted nice. Also saw the organic farm that grows so many spices. It was so much fun to know the culture of Hoi An through these great experiences. Plus we get to tour around Hoi An on a military jeep. We had an amazing, start to finish experience with Thanh and Ben from Local Buddy Tours. We are a family of 4 (kids 7yr & 11yr) and this was the first time bringing our kids out for the day on tours so we decided to book private tour experiences over 4 days.
