We booked this tour as my children (9 & 12yo) love to cook and love Vietnamese food and now they have added 4 new dishes to their menu! It was easy to understand, the food was super tasty and he even provided a recipe book for us so we can cook it when we get back to Australia. The coconut boats was a bit of fun and the older couple who rowed us down the river were entertaining too! The bike ride ended up being tandem, as the kids were not tall enough but it ended up safer, as half is on the side of the road. Thanks for a great value tour and my sister and her friends will come see you in July next year too!

One of our favorite experiences while visiting Vietnam! Biking through the city and countryside allowed us to see the hard work and love that this country puts in daily. We were able to visit a local farm to experience cooking a rice cracker. Walking the rows of growing herbs with Quan was a lot of fun. The cooking class was outstanding! We made several Vietnamese dishes that were very delicious and are looking forward to making them as our standard household meals.
We did the bike ride through hoi an, basket ride, and cooking class. You bike there, learn about rice paper, and then give it a try at a local place. I wished I would have asked to stop and take photos along the way as you get a ride back (it would have been too hot to bike back mid day). The food was amazing and instruction was great. We also got recipes to make at Home. They adapted based on allergies and preferences. We would definitely recommend.
Thanks Quan for the memorable day . The cooking class was very informative and really yummy! The bike ride was great too. A great day out , thanks for the tour. Highly recommend.
Awesome time. The cooking class was fab. Maybe a bit more info on the bike ride would have been good. Didn’t get to learn much bit super enjoyable.
Fabulous trip, probably my favourite of all the trips we have done so far in Vietnam. Quan was great. Only 4 of us on the trip today, Quan has max of 10. Lovely easy bike ride through the countryside, and a lovely location by the river for the cooking, very clean facilities and lovely food. Thoroughly recommend
A super authentic and thoroughly enjoyable tour! We were even lucky enough to have a private tour, which made the whole experience even more special. The bike ride through the fields was incredibly pleasant and relaxing – a wonderful way to experience the surroundings up close. The boat ride afterward was another highlight and fit perfectly into the day. The absolute highlight, however, was the cooking class: We prepared several Vietnamese dishes ourselves and learned so much about the ingredients, preparation methods, and background of each dish. The meal at the end was simply a dream – fresh, authentic, and prepared with so much love. Highly recommended for anyone who truly wants to experience Vietnam! 🌿🚲🍜
We had an amazing day exploring the beautiful countryside of Hoi An. We went on a lovely bike ride through the rice fields, visited a local vegetable farm, took a fun basket boat tour, and enjoyed a fantastic cooking class where we made four delicious dishes: spring rolls, papaya salad, banh xeo, and pho. Our guide Quan and his family were absolutely fantastic — so kind, welcoming, and helpful. We loved every moment of this experience and highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Hoi An!
These activities filled me and my family with happiness. We cycled along beautiful scenery that we would not have found on our own. In addition, the cooking class and water adventure was an unexpected and delightful surprise for my family as I didn’t inform them of these activities.
We had a great morning cycling around, watching the rice paper being made & enjoyed having a go at making the ourselves. The coconut boat ride was fun. The cooking class at the end was excellent & a great way to finish eating tasty food.
This is an excellent tour! We had 11 in our group, a mix of adults and children and we all loved it. We got to walk through the farm, cook some rice taco, go in basket boats and cook 4 delicious meals.
Quan brought our bicycles to our hotel and guided us into the beautiful countryside. We stopped at a vegetable village and had fun making rice pancakes. Then we were taken on a fabulous (and safe) bamboo basket water tour. Finally, Quan’s wife Lily taught us to make 4 delicious courses for our lunch and so kindly provided us with the recipes to take home. A taxi took us back to our hotel. A truly marvellous 4 hour tour which we couldn’t more highly recommend. An absolute highlight of our Vietnamese holiday.
Lovely way to spend the morning. Brilliant experience cycling through town then out along the rice paddies!! Enjoyed visiting the herb gardens and having a go making rice paper. Coconut boat ride was relaxing and it was good fun cooking and eating what we made! Very tasty
Lovely day for our first bicycle ride through the rice fields. Lovely entertainment in the coconut basket. Full bellies after a very pleasant cooking class. Great service and recipe to take home.
Excellent tour with great cycling guide . Incredible cooking class with Lily. She made the whole experience one we will never forget . Highly recommend.
The highlight was the cooking class. She was so lovely and funny so cooking with her was easy and the food was so enjoyable. The bike ride to the farm was enjoyable. But the boat ride was a bit underwhelming it was enjoyable but the guy we went with was on the phone the majority of the time which was a bit awkward and made the bad a bit weird. But the cooking class save it completely
Nice tour for a family. I was able to WhatsApp the tour guide a few days before the trip, coordinating location and timings. Unfortunately it wasn’t a true “countryside” bicycle trip as it involved a lot of roads so caution to those who want that as a highlight. For those experienced cyclists, it should be no problem as there was a fair attempt at making a cycling lane for some roads. In the end we had to top up 200k dong to switch to car as my folks were intimidated by the weather and busy roads. Vegetable farm was short but a nice glimpse into the Vietnamese local farming culture. Sadly we missed the rice paper making as it was a Sunday. Bamboo boat ride was as expected - a short jaunt down a sea side. Highlight was the cooking class held by the guide Quan. Delicious food, entertaining teacher with a good grasp of English. Noted they catered to the adjuvant Vegetarian group. Overall it was enjoyable with hit and misses. A good way to spend 4 hours in Hoi An.
Lovely tour … when one of our bikes got a flat tyre there was a replacement there within a few minutes. Well done. This was three separate activities joined into one. All were great, and the food we cooked under Lily’s expert guidance was delicious. I was particularly impressed by her attention to dietary issues.
My guide was great. From cycling through the rice paddy fields, cooking class, boat ride, and a little fishing absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend this tour
The bicycle ride to the vegetable village was challenging and interesting. The vegetable farm was big. We learned how to make the rice paper crispy. The cooking class was marvelous and the dishes were yummy. We enjoyed the class and the lunch. The bamboo boat ride was nice.
Most of this tour was really great, the basket boat was better than i expected as we tried to catch crabs and the people made us little leaf items like a ring, glasses etc, the cookery class was a good experience and a lovely location. The buffalo ride was a little disappointing as you only go maybe 15 meters, it would be great if maybe you could go into the water with them or wash them.
Loved the whole thing. Bike riding, seeing local families making rice paper, coconut boats and great cooking lesson ( and lunch). Definitely recommend.
This tour was amazing. Exceeded expectations- we got to see the countryside. Try the best food around Hoi An and our guide Emma was fantastic. She provided us with so much information about Hoi an and the history and the food.
We had a wonderful time biking around Hoi An to the vegetable village and then to the crab fishing and cooking class location. Our guide was very friendly and took us to the home of some local farmers who had us practice some farming techniques on their property and showed us how to cook rice cakes. We then took a beautiful bike ride through some rice paddies and shrimp farms and after crab fishing in a basket boat, we cooked a four course meal which turned out to be fun and absolutely delicious (the meal we cooked in class was better than when we ordered the same dishes later that night at a restaurant).
Long was a fantastic host, welcoming and informative. Taking the bike was fun even if the roads are a little crazy, long looks after you. Long and hus brothers cookery lesson make for a must do trip.
Highlights of this tour are the bike ride and the cooking class. Was great to get out of the city and see the rice fields while riding along.
This was a wonderful family friendly morning of new experiences, learning, and gentle exercise removed from the crowds of Old Hoi An. Long, our most competent, and engaging guide, led our small group (5) by bike into the rice paddies of rural Hoi An to a rendezvous with, and ride on, Lưc, a young, working water buffalo. From there we biked on to an excursion in traditional basket boats and were given the opportunity to share in the paddling. Upon landing, we had the pleasure of preparing and consuming a tasty four course lunch of Vietnamese dishes under the close supervision of Long’s brother-in-law chef. Long was the perfect guide for our full morning of learning and laughter. I give this experience my highest recommendation.
Our guide, Long, picked us up at our hotel promptly and took the five of us on a lovely scenic ride through rice paddies where we got to ride a water buffalo before cycling on to the basket boats. He was well organized, personable, and helpful. We arrived at the restaurant where we got to cook, and then eat, four delicious dishes - spring rolls with shrimp and pork, papaya salad, Vietnamese pancake and chicken curry. Dessert was water coconut and watermelon, followed by a van ride back to the hotel. The trip was well worth doing.
My son and I really enjoyed most of the experience. The bike ride was easy and scenic. The cooking class was well organized and easy to follow. But the boat ride and a lot of the time at the restaurant was completely spoilt by the extremely loud music- karaoke being blasted on the river and very loud music from the house next to the restaurant. If you don't enjoy a lot of noise, give this one a skip. We would have preferred peace and quiet to soak up the scenery and experience.
This was an incredible day which was the best part our our trip to Hoi An. Our guide Long was extremely welcoming and friendly which made the tour so good. He is also very good at knowing what photos to take, so we have endless amounts of memories. Thank you!
Perfect, very well organized. Very nice guide. Small group, quality service. Good value for money
