Itinerary
8:00 - 8:30 Tour guide and bus from Paradise Indochina Travel start picking up all passengers at hotels in Da Nang city and in Hoi An ancient town for the Cham Island Day Trip(Cu Lao Cham)
After driver and guide pick up all passengers, group will be then transfered to Cua Dai harbor for Speedboat registering with the Management officers before heading to the Cham islands.
On arrival of the island after 25 minutes by speedboat, your guide will take you to the Cu Lao Cham museum, and showroom where the history, map, objects are displayed etc…and visiting Au Thuyen where the local boats are hidden in big storms. Walking along the rice field, group will arrive the over-200-year-old temple of Hai Tang for a short visit. Besides, you also visit Cham’s old-well and seafood market - place of exchanges and trading all kinds of fresh seafood that fishermen caught after the previous night. For the next program, the boat takes you to a safe place (called Dai islet) for snorkeling for almost 50 minutes. This is the most interesting part of the tour. Here you have plenty of free time for swimming, and see the range of nice corals under the sea. Approximate 12:30 Have a wonderful lunch at a restaurant near the beach. After lunch, passengers stay relaxed on the beach, sunbathing before taking the return speedboat.
Enough time for the day. It is time passengers got back on speedboat to be transferred back to Cua Dai estuary where the vehicle is ready to take you back to Hoi An or Da Nang for a drop off at your hotel. Tour will end around 14:30

Much more time was dedicated to charm island than snorkeling. we spent less than an hour snorkelling in total. This was unfortunate as there’s not much to see on the island.
This trip was cancelled by the operator because of weather. I was offered a full refund but have never received it. Do not book with them
My partner and I booked this boat tour expecting a relaxing and well-guided day, but it turned out to be one of the most disorganized experiences we've had while traveling. The chaos started right away: I was contacted by three different WhatsApp numbers, each giving me conflicting instructions about our pickup. One said we’d be picked up by a bus, another mentioned a taxi, and in the end, it was a taxi, thankfully, the driver was very kind, which was one of the few positives of the day. Once we arrived at the harbor, we were separated from the group and left waiting a long time without any clear communication. No one could properly explain in English what was happening or what we were supposed to do. Eventually, we were brought to a boat, and after more than an hour of waiting, we finally reached the island. As expected, it was very crowded – but that part we had anticipated. The two "sightseeing" stops were a complete disappointment. First, we visited an old water well that honestly wasn’t worth the stop, and then we were brought to a so-called museum that consisted of 20 identical jars with the same dead fish in each. Nothing educational, nothing interesting. Next, we were dropped off at a commercial restaurant where we had to wait yet again before snorkeling. Only at this point were we told that if we wanted to actually see the coral properly, we would each need to pay an extra 1,000,000 VND – almost the same price as the whole tour! This should have been mentioned clearly beforehand. The snorkeling was okay, but we barely saw anything worth mentioning. The lunch was surprisingly good, but although we were told water was included, we didn’t receive any and were later charged for our drinks. The last part of the day was three hours of free time on the beach – which was nice, but honestly something we could have easily done on our own without paying for a full tour. The return trip went smoothly – mostly because we were suddenly allowed to join another group, which made things more efficient. But by that point, the day had already been a letdown. This company markets the tour as a “budget” option, but €70 for two people in Vietnam is far from cheap, and this tour definitely wasn’t worth it. Poor organization, zero communication, and a lot of waiting around – we wouldn’t recommend it.
I had high hopes for the Cham Islands tour, expecting a relaxing day of snorkeling and cultural exploration, but it was a major letdown. The snorkeling, which was the main draw, lasted a mere 45 minutes with terrible visibility due to the sheer number of tourists in the water. We barely saw any sea life, which was incredibly disappointing for a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The rest of the trip felt like a tourist trap. Time on Cham Island was spent being herded toward shops pushing souvenirs, with little to no insight into the island’s culture or history. Lunch was a bland, shared meal for three that lacked any local flavor. To top it off, we were seated next to a group with rude behavior—spitting, snorting, and coughing—which made the experience even less enjoyable. Overall, this felt chaotic and like a waste of time. I’d recommend skipping this or opting for a private, eco-focused tour to avoid the crowds and get a more authentic experience.
What could have been a great day was poorly run, tour guide was pushy and didn’t seem to Care at all. Then to push for a tip at the end that topped it off. Would not recommend this tour to anyone, find another company
The Day before the tour, the company contacted us with our pick up time, which was explicitly written as 8:45-9:00 am. Come the next morning, by 9:40 we were rushed out of our hotel room by an aggressive bus driver shouting at us that he had been waiting outside 20 minutes for us. We couldn’t get a word in to explain that this was in fact his and the company’s fault, for poor communication, and no fault of our own. I had no missed phone calls, and was only contacted first at 8:35am on trip adviser (which we didn’t receive until on the bus), so we had no way of knowing that they had arrived early. We shouldn’t have had to take such a battering for poor organisation, where the company were at fault. The tour felt disorganised and overbooked (of over 30 people), and lacked information about the places we were visiting. The places were beautiful, and the snorkelling was definitely worth it. The included lunch was good, however lacked options for vegetarians. On the way home, the same driver checked where we wanted to be dropped off, and we made it clear that we wanted to be dropped off at our original location (our hotel). He understood this, but then proceeded to drive 20 minutes in the other direction. During this, he kept bringing up the pick up situation this morning, and still wouldn’t let us explain. This was extremely unprofessional and completely not appropriate. We arrived in the city centre, where he told us this was our stop (it was not). After he realised his mistake, he still wasn’t willing to take us back to our hotel, so we had to get out and pay for a taxi. The area and views are lovely, and I definitely recommend going, however I suggest looking into other companies that care more about their guests.
The tour was very organised! Do not listen to the other reviews who say otherwise. I booked the night before with pickup. the pickup went super smooth and the team responded to my message fast with information on the car for pick up. The driver we had was also a sweetheart, super funny guy and gave us a mini city tour as we got to the dock. At the dock you just need to sign in (name, year of birth and nationality) then you are taken to the boat. On the island we visit a small animal museum? where the guide gave us five minutes to go inside and look. Then he lead us to the well and finally the pagoda temples, where we were given 15 minutes to explore by ourselves. I enioyed this because I usually do not like following tours, but there was a lot of freedom to explore by ourselves here. After we headed to the boat for snorkelling. The snorkelling was a bit of a let down as the corals are not as lively as I hoped- which is not the tours fault, but the sea is clear. At the beach we had lunch- vegetarian (squid, prawns shrimp rice, fried noodles, veg) and then free time on the beach. The beach is super clear and good to swim in and see fish. Also a few coral to see-dont touch. The only unfortunate thing was the amount of idle time in the boat. I unfortunately got sea sick because of the idle swaying in the boat while waiting for everyone to get on after snorkelling, but I cannot blame anyone. Just want to remind those who if you get sea sick, just be the last one to get on the boat after snorkelling and you should be ok!
Excellent excursion. Pick up by hotel. Not long to wait at the harbour. Of course a little chaos but that is normal in touristic places with salesmen etc. 25 minutes with the speedboot. First explanation of the island by local tourguide. Than a quick tour around the Village and visiting an old temple (20 minutes). Next stop was snorkeling for 45 minutes. The fish were o.k. not extraordinary, but the coral was beautifull. Many different sorts of coral some of which we hadn't seen yet. Then on to the lunch on monkey beach. Very good and a lot of food. Of course the monkeys came to try to steel some food. All in all a lovely day.
They picked us up and then we had to do a 1 hour drive to pick up 3 other parties - 2 of which weren’t at all ready - in one case we waited 20 minutes! At the harbour we were combined with other tour groups to form one big group on one boat. The tour then did several stops which honestly were quite boring - a small temple, a village full of hawkers, a very small museum with some dead fish in jars. When we finally made it to the snorkelling about 4 hours after the hotel pick-up we were given some cheap snorkeling gear and then into the water. There was almost no fish and no colour in the coral. We dove down and saw a few interesting things like blue star fish and a few different kinds of fish, but you reqlly needed to dive to see anything. After about 45 mins they took us to small beach where they fed us and then left us for ‘own time’ on a small Beach where several boars were parked. The beach outside our hotel was significantly better so the last 90 minutes was really a waste of time. The lunch was supposedly to be seafood but that meant 2 prawns each, a small piece of fish to share between 4 people and a few buts of calamari in a stir fry. In addition soup, chips and noddles. We didn’t leave hungry but it was nothing special. The drive back to the hotel was fine as we didn’t have to wait for anyone. Final verdict, not really worth it but if tou want to go, find a tour that just does the snorkelling.
Cham Island is a very popular destination so be prepared for lots of tourists. We enjoyed escaping from the heat so the snorkelling was refreshing. We have snorkelled in other countries so the underwater scene was a bit disappointing… not many fish! Our tour guide was on time and got us home safely and the walk at Cham Island up to the end beach was pleasant.
It was an exercise in organized chaos. Pick up time changes 4 times in the morning and that was just the start. Handed like cattle from one guide to another and never knew who or where we were supposed to be. After time on the beach we were supposed to be picked up and taken back at a certain time. The focus of all the guides were the Chinese guests and so we and 4 other Europeans ( the only Europeans on the trip) ended up being left at the beach with no guide and no boats. Took us 2 hours to find a way back from the island and home. Terrible service and approach. The worst experience in Vietnam as by the end we were all burnt, dehydrated, stressed and fed up. So unlike my other experiences here in Vietnam. Don’t use them. The island is nice but these people really don’t care
There are so many reasons to avoid this trip. We thought we were going for a nice leisurely visit to an island, do a bit of snorkelling, have a spot of lunch and then laze on the beach before heading home. If only … Firstly, hundreds of people were herded into a hot, sticky waiting area for 20+mins until each boat takes its maximum number of passengers (40 or so) across to the island. UNNECESSARY WALK Worst of all, once we arrived, we had to go on a “45mins walk” (actually 70mins) in the searing heat with absolutely no shade … we assumed this was to get to the snorkelling beach, but oh no - it’s so that they can take you past hundreds of stalls selling you all sorts of crap - before bringing you back to where you started so that they can get you back on the damned boat and off to the snorkelling area. SEA LICE! Second worst thing - the snorkelling area was packed with 12-15 boats, each with 40 passengers or so (talk about paradise spoilt) and when you eventually get into the water, you’re eaten by sea lice!! Seriously. All 8 in our party felt our skin crackling and itching horribly. We thought it was just the salt water on our now-burnt skin but it turns out, it was sea lice! 🤢 WORST FOOD OF THE TRIP After escaping the sea lice water (!) we were taken to a different packed beach to be served some food which seemed ok at the time but most of us have had an upset stomach since (I’m writing this at 4am after being up with my daughter most of the night because of it). IT’S NOT THE TOUR COMPANY, IT’S THE WHOLE SET-UP THAT’S WRONG This is NOT a review to suggest avoiding this particular tour company. It’s a recommendation not to do the trip at all. Every single group (& there were a LOT of groups) experienced the same activities. Whether they all hated it as much as we did, I don’t know. Certainly, all the Europeans on our particular boat were complaining to each other about the same issues (it was about 90-10 split between Asians & Europeans on the trip so a bit of camaraderie built up amongst those of us in the minority). We’re only in Vietnam for 10 days (and have loved every moment except today) but we travelled with friends who have been living here for 4 months and they also said it’s the worst trip they’ve experienced.
The tour is good for the most part except it is too short to be considered "a day" trip AND the cost should be cheaper as this is in Vietnam. We did the SeaTrek for additional fee which again can be cheaper. The water is not as clear though you can feed the fishes and see the corals. The included lunch is just ok. The price Tripadvisor is charging, the package is not worth doing.
It’s so fun, we ride a super canoe went to the island, they introduced some island’s history, n rides us to snorkeling w hot weather, so it’s perfect time for us, after that we had lunch time, sea food was awesome, fresh n fantastic taste, the tours included lunch but w seafood u must pay extra if u want it. We’re really enjoyed
Never got to go. My tour was cancelled without notice and I was left standing at the curb for 45 minutes waiting to be picked up, if I hadn’t called, my guess is I’d still be waiting. Very unprofessional, and disorganized, i would never use or recommend aviator again!
Don’t be fooled by the photos, waste of time and money! Too much hanging around being funnelled from one place to another, coral dead and barely anything to see! Vietnamese tourism should get a grip of what’s happening here!
Went to Cham island with Dacotours, tour guide called Duyen who nicknamed herself “Banana”. Got off to a bad start as we stopped at “Non nuoc stone carving village” which was a store full of tourist tat. As no one wanted to buy anything we stood outside for 20 minutes until the guide reappeared (“I am giving you 20 minutes free time to shop”). Then onwards to the dock where we got off the bus literally into another shop, with people standing each side to make it hard to push our way outside. Inflated prices and tour guide very happy to translate for anyone who wanted to buy. (“I am giving you 10 minutes to buy things”). Then we stopped at a place to buy refreshments (“I am giving you 5 minutes to buy drinks”) and only after questioning did the guide admit that they would supply bottled water for us. Finally, the guide told us to sit and wait (hassled by vendors) while she went to buy tickets to the island. The first island stop was pointless, viewing a few preserved specimens of the local sea life and being splashed with water from a lucky well. The next was a brief stop on a beach to hard sell a “scuba dive” experience where a personal instructor will dive with you and control your every move(“I am giving you 10 minutes to think about it”). There was no facility for qualified divers. Then off to the dive boat where the guide and those who paid got off to go diving. The rest of us stayed on the ferry and went back to the beach to collect the 2 people who had been left behind (!). Finally we reached an off-beach snorkeling site which was fairly nice, and snorkeled for a while before returning to the beach for inclusive lunch (again with multiple options to pay more). Told that we had an hour on the beach we hired deck chairs and enjoyed ourselves, then showered and changed, only to be told “I am giving you another half hour free time to relax.” We declined to buy drinks and waited to return. Overall, this was a highly touristy experience in a very lovely place which we barely got to enjoy. Probably better to visit without tour.
Negative : They took us for 15mins to walk around a marble shop as I believe they have some sort of agreement but it was weird and a waste of time. The boat was old woth no outdoor area to enjoy the trip. The worst part is when we went snorkeling the equipment was old and most of the masks were detached from the barrel ( the tube to breath) which made it very difficult to snorkel. They need to change them. Positive : The lady who led us around was friendly and ready to help. The beach in Cham Island is beautiful and the lunch was actually one of the best I had among various snorkeling tours.
Nice snorkeling (but too many people at the spot) and beautiful beach where we had some time to swim and relax. But the best from the tour was the lunch, so many different delicious dishes in a beautiful small restaurants near the beach.
There were no fish to see at all. Rest of the trip was decent but the snorkelling was definitely not worth the price. The monkeys were cool though.
Great day on Cham Island, our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The snorkeling was great, we saw many species of fish in beautiful clear water. The seafood lunch was delicious.
Great Day trip out of Hanoi the snorkelling was great the full Lunch on Beach was fantastic and the Guides and drivers were great too.
Great day Helpful tour guides and pickup Enjoyed the village tour Beautiful beaches Awesome lunch Totally recommend
Scuba diving with the photos option is a must! Even for someone who is a novice at swimming. The fish and the corals are such a beautiful sight!
Far too busy for me. Snorkeling is over barren rocks with very few fish, not over coral reefs. Would probably look for a better experience.
Needs to be more organised, all of the activities were rushed. The museum isn’t very good and not very insightful. Snorkelling was good. Speed boat isn’t a highlight but merely a means of getting to the island. You are in box and you can’t really see anything.
We left the pier with about a thousand others, all of us on speed boats and heading to the same place. a little island was inundated with tourists at the same time, and it’s made as a stop in hopes you will spend money on the island by buying a beaded necklace or souvenirs. we were then all shipped to the same reef to snorkel while also snorkelling between speed boats anchored up right next to/ on top of the reef. lunch…. they tried…..and some of it was nice but a lot of it was not described to us what it was. the beach was the best bit snd that was sun sling on a sandy beach with clear swimming waters… hate to say it but i can do that at home in the summer.
The snorkelling was terrible. One of my favourite activities when on holiday but i did not even get in the water. Equipment was not clean and i was told you need to wash it in the water before using. You have to swim in a life jacket. Water was murky and all one swimmmer reported seeing was a paper cup. Definately would not do again. The rest was ok and the lunch was nice.
Not worth the money Very rushed experience through the whole trip.Only in the water snorkeling for 40 minutes ( should have been 1 hour) and the location was average. No fins so life jackets were worn to keep you bouyant!! Food at lunch was poor. Spent most of the time in the boat going from mainland to island to snorkeling and back
Far too many boats trying to access a very small Dive area. Little to see if you did get enough room To dive into. Have never had to dive with A safety vest on before. Equipment was only just adequate and was not cleaned after prior use
Our family has travelled throughout many destinations in Asia, and have done similar snorkeling excursions. I have also read through various reviews of many companies for what is essentially the same excursion of Cham Island. We decided to try this company and found the excursion quite pleasant. Pros: Great communication between company regarding pick up. It helps if you have Whatsapp to message (include it and you get a faster response instead of email). They were on time exactly as promised at our hotel in Danang. The bus filled up but the driver and guide Ms. Dao were so efficient, it didn't take long to get us to our first stop. I would recommend eating something small before arriving at the Marina if you are used to eating breakfast. Nothing too heavy though since you will be on a boat. Other pros--guide was very thorough at explaining the plan for the day. Transport bus was super- clean. The tour course generally takes you to a shop that sells jewelry/other souvenirs for about 20 minutes ( ice bathroom break spot), then the Marina where you board your speedboat. Then you head to the busier part of the island to see the town. (I bought dried cuttlefish and ate homemade ice cream bars), speedboat again to the restaurant for some guests to change (we were already changed so chilled on the beach w/ iced coffee), those who want can pay extra foe scuba with a guide, or to the snorkeling site. My boys and husband enjoyed the snorkeling--everywhere you go in this world has its pros and cons even with snorkeling. Water was clear and we saw lots of fish and coral. I see that some individual reviews occasionally complain that weather caused cloudy visibility but...really you are blaming the company for the weather? I also noticed some other companies twice the price have speedboats with slightly higher seats which allow riders to see more from their seats. If this tour was seeing. Many different islands from the boat that may have been an issue but these boats are otherwise the same--with windows that open (zero boats operating have the open-air completely open space like they do in Phuket or Krabi). But the speedboat serves as a taxi to and from the sites including the snorkeling sites. Some pros about Cam isle that i found are simply characteristics of that area are: -people peddling food, you have to say no and then not smile or they will stay -areas that are free to sit on the beach chairs need to be double checked with your guide. One lady claimed we needed to pay 20k Dong for each chair even after i bought a coffee. Our guide confirmed it was free. Other con is need for waiting to clear speedboat with Vietnam coast guard which all boats have to do before leaving the island to return to the marina. Phone service worked well so used that time to look through pictures and chill. Many people who have not travelled through southeast Asia want fast no-wait express service. But one should realize that some things just move at a different pace here. If in Maui and you pay $300 per person for a day excursion --yes then you can demand super-sharp efficiency; but here...especially for people living in hotter climates--waiting is just part of life. We can learn from this way of thinking.
The trip was great and well-organized ....after picking from hotels we took a boat to visit an island for sightseeing we saw old market a well a pagura and small village then we took the boat to go snorkeling . it was fun , colourful coral and fish in a very clean water ........after 45 minutes we went to another island for lunch and swimming Every thing was great and fun starting from the people from office who did my booking Thank you all .......great day out .
I have been on more snorkel and dive trips than i can count, but this by far was the worst experience that i have ever had. The boat that is used to ferry the unwitting customers to our supposed snorkel spot is an enclosed vessel, more like a rescue boat of a cruise ship. So yes, hot and sticky and a most uncomfortable almost a James Bond speed race ride to get to Dr. No's island before he blows up the world. Then we were taken to a "rest stop" so people could change into their swimsuits (who goes on a boat trip not wearing a swimsuit?) and oh yes to give us tourist the opportunity to check out the trinket shops or take a scooter tour of the neighborhood. We are by now at least 2-3 hours into the snorkel day trip and haven't touched water yet. Then we got back into the rescue boat and are hastily whisked away - hopefully to the snorkel destination. After about 20 mins of another super bumpy speedboat ride we arrive at small cove where we are provided with the oldest snorkel gear that i have ever seen. I am sorry ... there were only face masks- that seem to have been from the very first James Bond movie, you know the one where Sean Connery walks out of the water with his tiny boy shorts!! anyway, the masks are metal most of them rusting with no nose pinch point area, NO snorkel, and NO fins. No instructions were given - those of us who were strong swimmers jumped into what was at least a 20-30ft deep area with some coral yes, some fish yes... but if you were wearing the early JB era mask you couldn't see a thing since you can't clear the mask. the other victims jumped in with the awful masks and life vests, bobbing awkwardly on the surface because of the life vest, face down but not being able to see a darn thing. Fortunately for my husband and i, we always walk with our own gear (we are certified divers but opted to try out the snorkeling before committing to diving) - we did not regret that decision. Definitely would not dive with this outfit. After about 30-45 mins of people getting exhausted by trying to snorkel in a life vest and less than adequate or functional gear we all just simply got back in the boat (without a prompt by our guides!) and were whisked away to the "lunch buffet" on the beach. This was another adventure - no instructions! we sat randomly under a covered area set up with rows of tables and chairs only to be told that we were in the wrong seats. Once appropriately seated food was brought out - copious amount, most of it mediocre some dishes were decent, mostly seafood so i was in luck. we order a couple of drinks only to find out that these were not included in the äll inclusive lunch". änyway suffice to say lunch was had, we were ALLOWED to take a dip in the beach area where we had our lunch picnic for about 15mins or so, and then herded back to our submarine boat for another speed boat ride back to the dock where we started this glorious adventure. I am sure Cham Island is charming, and that the snorkeling is great and the people there are very friendly (in fact my husband and i found a nice little restaurant and had a light snack of Tiger beer and raw oysters and uni with the owner while others were "changing"or shopping or scootering. This was by far the best part of our all day snorkel trip to Cham Island)..... otherwise it was a total disappointment!! If i could give negative stars i would - this was the first time on any snorkel/dive trip that i actually seriously thought about what i would do should the boat capsize - how i would escape what would i tie to me, what would be my escape route out of the surfer boat that seemed to be teetering on flipping over at every wave we skimmed over at break neck speed!!
It was chaotic to say the least. So many tourists leaving to go to the island and hustled onto the boat. At the 1st stop we followed the guide along with lots of other groups doing the same thing. We should have been given a map at the start which outlined the main attractions and given 30 min to return. Crowded, hot and as I said, chaotic. Snorkelling was also an anti-climax: so many boats packed into a tiny area for a bit of snorkelling with the most archaic gear. The reef was also not too good (although spoilt with Australian ones) - I think the tourism and the number of boats etc has destroyed it. The lunch and swimming on the island was the highlight. Great lunch 10/10. Nice beach, but not really long enough to relax and enjoy the surrounds. Too rushed.
We travelled as a group of six. The trip was probably our least favourite trip of our tour. Very crowded boat took us to Cham Island. Our guide, predominantly spoke in Vietnamese, leaving the English speaking tourists a little at a loss. We only snorkelled for forty five minutes and were left in the water with no instructions of how we would know when to return to the boat or which boat was ours. The lunch was very nice, however, we again were pretty much left to our own devices and had to ensure we returned to the boat on time.
The trip back and forth was a bit chaotic, but my main reason as to why, I give the trip so low rating, is because all the corals, we saw, was dead. Also, I was dissapointed, that we were not advised not to touch the coral, even though its dead. Some people might not know, what harm that can do, and thats really something everyone should be told before going to such a precious, despite its death, place.
Chaotic and crowed, the trip is too busy waiting or picking up / dropping people and the snorkeling is okish, seen way better. It is ok but I would not do it again
Pros: Pretty beach, nice boat ride and lovely lunch Cons: Snorkelling just next to main beach very poor with no more than a few fish, inadequate equipment. Tour run like a school trip barking orders. Very stressful day of relaxation.
Super disappointing. Much larger tour group than advertised (nearly 30 people), hugely disorganised, no interesting information about the area shared by the guide. Completely impersonal experience, and so much time in the day wasted waiting around. Out of a 6 hour day we spent barely 45 minutes of it actually snorkelling. Would not recommend.
Doesn’t worth it! Done mostly for local people. Nothing so spectacular to see and the time for snorkelling is just 40mins. Most of the time/day spent in waiting and travelling
The corals where great. We liked that it was a little more private, although they had to fill up their boats and that is understandable. There was no towel provided ( it said it in our booking there will) and only drinking water at one place. So definitly not enough water for such a long trip. Guide was friendly. I would also suggest clear instructions on used gear and none used. Overall great experience and recommended!
This tour had lots of "hurry up and wait". There was so much faffing around and the reason for the tour, the snorkelling, seemed more of a side show rather than the main event even though I concede it did only advertise 45min to 1 hour. It was just that with all the faffing around, 30min was underwhelming. The snorkelling wasn't bad, wasn't great either, the water was clean and a perfect temperature. Would I do it again? Had I prior knowledge of what all the mucking around in between was like and for something that wasn't fantastic. No. So much time wasted for the guides to herd all the clueless corgis around way past the times that they set, we feel we wasted our day with this tour as it didn't meet up our expectations, even though, it did deliver everything it advertised, just didn't hit the mark.
Not what I was expecting in terms of the boat and snorkeling. Very packed taxi boat shared with others not on actual tour. Snorkeling area was full of sea lice that stung constantly. Trip got a bit better in afternoon with a nice island beach and a decent lunch and relaxing in hammock after.
This tour like many other tours in Vietnam are run by vendors within vendors. They are disorganized, inefficient, and discriminatory. I was born in Vietnam but lived in the states. I witnessed the saddening discrimination amongst its own people. For instance, there were just “enough” snorkeling gear for Caucasians and natives were not provided with anything. After some complaints, they pulled out a private stash of personal, childlike snorkeling gear - most of which were broken. My kids were heart broken. The tour was over 6 hours but were dumped Into a small section of the island where ALL the tours congregated. We snorkeled for about 30 minutes before being yelled to return. Which is fine since all we saw were other snorkelers. I have never seen such a poorly run touring system until this visit.
Food was very generous and delicious. Plenty of time to enjoy our visit. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Snorkelling had an abundance of fish and coral but not the best quality in the world. Would not recommend scuba as can see most from snorkel. Happy we chose speedboat for quicker journey. Would recommend 👌
Overall an enjoyable day out at the beach in clear refreshing sea water. It was great the tour guide gave us 3 options to see Cham Island as not everyone wanted to do the walkable sightseeing included in the tour (1 hour) The lunch buffet was nice and a lot of food, about 8 dishes. Drinks extra. After lunch there was beach time for about an hour before catching the boat back to Hoi An port. If you are expecting to snorkel straight from the beach then you'll be disappointed as the boat stops at an area that is roped off where you'll need to get into the water off the back of the boat (coming back up the same way). Note: if you want to sit in one of the beach chairs under the coconut trees then you just need to purchase a drink (ie fresh coconut VND50,000) The negative part was being picked up 30mins before the pre-arranged time (735am instead of 810am) and taken to a gem shop where we waiting for 45mins along with other people on day tours who also looked unimpressed about the stop.
My family had a very nice day to Cham islands and had nice snorkeling. The guide was fun, helpful and speedboat was very good. The snorkeling spots were impressive with lots of coral and fish. The islands were scenic and peaceful. Our lunch was a feast and we enjoyed a delicious meal.
My family knew this travel agency through my friend recomendation and booked the snorkeling trip. It was fantastic. We had great day exploring Cham island. It was a hot day and so we loved the sea and the beach so much. During snorkeling, we saw coral reef so beautiful and alive. Lunch was fabulous and a nice time relaxing, sunbathing on the wonderful beach. So much recommended!
Lunch & snorkelling was lovely. There is a bit of waiting before you leave on the boat. If you are worried about the boat, then sit in the back. Careful whixh chairs you sit on the beach as they will charge.
