Authentic Hoi An - 'Focus On Locals' Private Tour

Our group had the best time, but what stood out most was how easy he made it for all of us to simply enjoy being together. He created such a comfortable and thoughtful atmosphere from the start, and that made the whole day feel really special. With so many personalities and so much energy in one group, it could have gone a lot of different ways, but he made it feel effortless. Travelling in this region requires strong local knowledge, careful planning, and someone who truly understands how things work on the ground — and Man delivered all of this consistently throughout our trip. Food is a central part of experiencing Central Vietnam, and Man approached it with great thought and purpose. Throughout our 8-days journey, he carefully planned our meals across different local restaurants and coffee shops, with no repeated dishes or venues. Each stop was selected for a specific reason — a signature dish, a unique cooking style, or a local specialty that represents the area. The same applied to coffee, where each café offered something distinct. This gave us a genuine and well-rounded understanding of Central Vietnam’s food and coffee culture, which would have been very difficult to achieve without a knowledgeable local guiding the choices. Man also helped us understand local people and everyday life, providing context and insights that allowed us to connect with the culture in a meaningful way rather than just observing it as tourists. Another key strength was his historical knowledge. When visiting historical sites, Man did far more than simply bring us there. He explained the background, stories, cultural significance, and historical context behind each site, helping us understand why these places matter. Without a knowledgeable guide like Man, we would not have been able to gain this depth of understanding or appreciation. What truly made the trip run smoothly was Man’s detailed planning and strong attention to detail. He planned logistics carefully, managed timing well, and adjusted plans when needed to ensure everything flowed efficiently. In Central Vietnam, where distances, traffic, weather, and local conditions all matter, this level of planning is essential. Without Man’s coordination and experience, it would have been very difficult for the trip to run as smoothly as it did. Man is dedicated, reliable, and genuinely focused on delivering value to his clients. We have an excellent time with Man as our guide. He is like a friend, always looking out for us. Making sure that we have the food we like at very good prices. He put in effort to buy breakfast for us when we have to leave early. Busy taking photos for us at the best spot. Strongly recommend every one to use Man as your guide. My family and I booked a 4-day tour with Man to take in the sights of Da Nang and Hoi An. From the pick up at the airport, to the various van, bike, boat, and cable car transfers everything was extremely well organized. Man made sure that we would get to trip highlights early so we could beat the crowds. I'm pretty sure we were the first to board the cable car up Ba Na Hills so we were able to get family pictures on the golden bridge virtually by ourselves. He also booked us a private coconut basket boat tour and again we were the first family at the site (I think it was even before their usual opening hours) so we were able to enjoy the tour without the maddening crowds. The same thing happened when Man took us to Bánh Mì Phượng (made famous by Anthony Bourdain). We didn't have to wait in line since Man had already arranged for a table for all six of us. Amazing! Man speaks excellent (UK tinged) English and is very flexible during the tour. He makes sure to make accommodations for the heat and for any culinary restrictions/preferences that we had. Overall, I highly recommend booking a tour with Man. This was one of the highlights of our Vietnam trip.

We booked an excursion through Man before our cruise and although its always a bit nerve wracking booking something on line so far away , the whole process of booking our customised tour through this company , and the professional and friendly way it was all dealt with left me at ease . The tour was fitted to our own itinery . This tour was the best day of our entire holiday ! We loved it !!! Man is extremely educated , knowledgable , polite , and an all round excellent tour guide !! We loved the food he chose for us so much , the best ! and he took us to some of the most beautiful places I cannot recommend this company enough .. and unlike some other companies who said the guides were english speaking and they werent…. Man has a very high level of english and we were really impressed by his enthuiasm and passion .

Engaged Man and his team to do a customised tour for my family of 7 that included countryside and citytour of Hoi An, Majestic Bana Hills and Danang. It was the best decision made as our transport was seamless and comfortable. Man is friendly, knowledgeable and speaks excellent english. He helped us haggle with the locals for the best price too. He brings us the nicest food in each area. Windy, one of his guide accompanied us for our bana hills and she was amazing too and was great with kids. She could keep my 5 year old girl entertained during the entire journey. All in all, great experience and great friends made with Man and Windy

We are family of five, with a four months old baby. Man Nguyen and his team had provided us with the best tour experience although we have a little one during our holiday. The tour is very flexible to suit our family need, from feeding or changing baby nappies. Man would also provide additional service by spending his own time (outside of itinerary) to ensure we get the best experience from dining at very authentic local restaurants and making sure we were charged the correct price. Places he recommended to us for meals were very authentic and reasonably priced. He had also took us to a market ( not on itinerary)after we asked about where to get the souvenirs we would like to get. We would highly recommend his tours due to his excellent service and professional team of caring tour guides.

DO NOT look at any other tour operator. Man and his team were flawless and the experience was outstanding. Man was incredibly informative and with an infectious bubbly personality. The experience created memories we will never forget. From the Golden Hands Bridge to dining and engaging with authentic delightful local people and cuisine. You cannot ask for a more perfect tour. I arranged a private tour for 8 family members with Man Nguyen tours. It was easy to communicate with Man Nguyen and setup our private itinerary even when living in the US. Our tour guide, Thich, met us at the airport, whisked is into a luxury bus/van and we took off for our first stop. Over 2 days, Thich did everything he could to take care of me and my family and ensure we had the best time in these wonderful cities. Thich was knowledgeable, patient and always kind. This tour was by far our favorite and it’s because of Man Nguyen tours!

Great tour. Took us to the real local spots. We hit the major attractions and ate like a local. Transport was comfortable and safe. Our driver was top notch. Tuan, our guide, was really impressive. His knowledge was outstanding and he gave us the information we needed. Changed the tour to meet our specific needs. Had great fun bike riding through Hoi An. Beautiful country and people are fantastic. Could not ask for more.

The authentic one-day private tour in Hoi An was definitely the highlight of our six-day trip in Vietnam. Our guide Tuan, who is from Hoi An and speaks perfect English, is very knowledgable and introduced to us the history and culture of the city and Vietnam. His passion for the job made the well-paced tour even more enjoyable. We travelled by private car between Da Nang and Hoi An and by private boat to the islands in Hoi An. We had a taste of the lives of the friendly locals (pottery, mat weaving, rice paper/noodle making, organic farming, etc) and ate like a local too. Having joined two other group tours during our trip, we must say the quality of this private tour is unbeatable, and we will join the company’s private tours when we visit this part of the country again! 👍🏻

Man was really helpful even though i queried about my plan in da nang 2 days before my trip. He was very quick in response and help to accommodate our need. We had the best tour guide - LOTUS. She is very attentive and energetic throughout the tour. She's always being helpful and made the whole experience a blast. Also, she speaks fluent English and gives a really in-depth explanation about the cultural and history. Totally recommend them for a tour in da nang.

We had an absolutely wonderful tour with Thich who was very knowledgeable and responsible, well taking care each of us. We enjoyed the historic tours, especially Bana Hills - what a stunning mountain. Even though the weather is so hot he and the driver would make sure we always have water and cool wipes after every outdoor excursion. Tour was being well arranged and we enjoyed the local Vietnamese food with very reasonable price. Restaurant and cafe been pre-arranged to avoid long waiting times. Was recommended to contact Man Ngyuen for Danang Tour. I managed to get in touch with Man to work out a customized tour for my husband who had a one day window period on his conference trip. Man was most helpful and customized a personal tour plan for my husband. It was a most enjoyable trip as Man Ngyuen was very affable and knowledgeable and it was a very fulfilling one day spent touring Bana Hills, Golden Bridge and Ling Uni Pagoda. We booked a full day tour to Hue from Hoi An directly with Man. Man’s communication was excellent throughout with clear emails leading up to the tour, a text to confirm the arrangements on the day before and even a phone call at the end of the day to make sure everything had gone smoothly. First class. Our guide for the day was Tuan who was excellent. This is quite a tough tour for a guide as there is quite a lot of driving involved but Tuan gave us his full attention throughout the day. His English is excellent and he was both informative and engaging throughout. The tour took us through the Hai Van Pass with a view of Lang Co Beach. Lunch was at a typical Vietnamese restaurant where we got to try Bun Bo Hue. We then went into the Imperial Citadel and Forbidden City followed by some iced coffee at a local coffee shop. From there we went to the Thien Mu Pagoda followed by a visit to Khai Dinh Tomb one of the most beautiful royal tombs in Hue. The return journey was via the tunnel to Danang with a meal at Bep Hen – another excellent local restaurant. This was a very long day - 8.30 am to past 9.00 pm by the time we got back to Hoi An but a great experience. Tuan even serenaded us in the car – watch out for him on Vietnam’s X Factor one day!

I coordinated the tour through Man who communicated everything flawlessly and was even able to customize the itinerary so I could see Golden Bridge. I was met at the port by Thich and his driver and everything was first class. Thich’s English is excellent, he knows the city and had a very genuine interest in sharing the sites; he made the trip that much more enjoyable. If looking for a private /semi private tour of Hoi an and/or Da Nang I would very highly recommend!!!

We visited Hoi An with our tour guide Tam, who provided us with a wealth of knowledge about the history of Hoi An and Vietnam in general. This tour was the first time we had ever heard mention of the Champa people and Tam (who is a fantastic english speaker) taught us all about the wars and history of ancient Vietnam. The bus rides were comfortable and the tour was paced nicely. Highly recommended!
