Ice Cave Tour In The National Park Of Vatnajökull

Great tour. 3hrs is the perfect amount of time to explore. We were the only tour group in the cave at the time of our tour which added to the experience. Great guide.

Mike was an excellent tour guide who was very knowledgeable and friendly and made sure everyone got an experience.

This was one of our favorite things we did in Iceland. Absolutely stunning, you’ll never see anything like it. They also give everyone ample amount to take pictures so I really loved that as well. Staff was very kind.

Came to say we really appreciated our guide. Plenty are thoughtful/knowledgeable, Norb was that and focused on our safety. From making sure we equipment was on right and proper cowtail procedures, we noticed serval details that other guides skipped and felt safe since Norb didn't overlook any details. Best guide ever. Funny. Knowledgeable. Professional. Genuinely kind. So patient. Probably a photographer before this he has an eye for angles and make sure you have the best pictures. Good driver. Cant recommend him enough thank you for the best experience. Oh happy birthday in reykavik!

Dress warm and be ready for a little hike and some views worth it!!! It was a well organized excursion and our guide was fabulous.

Axel our guide was fantastic - knowledgeable, experienced and patient. The trip was not what I expected. When I booked, it was described as easy with a 20 minute walk. It was in fact a difficult walk through uneven terrain that took me 45 minutes there and nearly an hour back in torrential rain. I told Axel at the outset that I was recovering from a knee injury and he advised against participating because he said the trail to the caves was a challenging 45 minute hike. With his assistance and support, I managed it but it was a struggle.

Tour guide Julian was excellent. Very kind, patient, knowledgeable and engaging. 40min hike there and back. Not ideal for seniors or young kids I’m surprised the tour description does not mention this. There was a second tour guide with us but didn’t catch his name. He was very rude to some seniors in our group. Yelling profanities. Threatening to leave them behind. He was clearly under a time limit. Julian kept him calm and was very kind to every guest and encouraged everyone that they could make it.

Norb was an amazing guide. He was super passionate and knowledgable about the glaciers and made sure to show us extra features when we had extra time. The only downside was that we booked on Get Your Guide and the meeting point provided was wrong so it was very confusing getting to the meeting point.

Norb was one of the best tour guides I’ve ever had. He had natural enthusiasm for the glaciers/caves and Iceland as a whole. He was more than willing to take photos for every group and ensured the pace was comfortable and safe for all. Could not recommend him more

I went on an ice cave tour with Norb as our guide, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! Norb was an excellent guide who taught us so much about glaciers and how ice caves are formed throughout the expedition. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what he does. He made sure we got the most out of the experience while always prioritizing our safety. The ice caves themselves were absolutely stunning, with breathtaking landscapes that were truly out of this world. It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish, and I would highly recommend this activity to anyone visiting Iceland. A huge thank you to Norb for making this adventure so special!

Only informed us while on the drive there that we would only see one third of the ice cave. We paid full price only to see less than half of what we paid for and the tour started almost an hour late. I understand weather can’t be controlled but this should have been communicated to us prior so we can make a decision on whether we want to continue with the tour or not. We were the last tour of the day and they didn’t think to inform us. A huge rip off. Barely any ice to see. Just paid to get wet and look at mud.

Was a good tour as it did what was advertised. After learning the history and environmental concerns from local park rangers and locals, however, I am a bit torn given my environmental background. Was told that the glaciers have been melting faster than ever before and obviously bringing considerable amounts of people (100s a day) onto the glacier increases temperature along with guides picking at the ice that is 1000’s of years old. The glacier is very pretty even from the farther viewing points and well worth it. Thought these comments would provide some items for consideration as they would have changed my own booking preferences.

Our guide brought the environment to life with a deep understanding of glacial formation, answering every question with clarity and a touch of well-timed humor that made the experience even more engaging. The ice caves, while smaller in scale than some might imagine, are remarkable in their own right—intricate, ever-changing formations shaped by the forces of nature. Approaching the visit with realistic expectations is key; these are not vast, cathedral-like caverns, but rather intimate and striking natural features. With that perspective, the experience is deeply rewarding and well worth it.

Fenir was an amazing guide and so knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great fun time going up the glacier. It is interesting and sad to think that the things we saw will not be there next year. Regardless, we loved the ice caves we saw and it was gorgeous all around!

ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! The guide was amazing and we got to see very beautiful landscapes along with the caves. He was very knowledgeable about the area and shared a ton of very interesting history and information about the glaciers. Would highly recommend Crystal Cave Tours. They go the extra mile for you!

This was a great experience with wow-effect. We saw three different caves and could also see the very nice blue ice. Our guide Vanarr was very experienced and explained a lot about the glacier and the caves but also about Iceland in general. We felt save all the time and the way to go was o.k., also for persons with no glacier and hiking experience. We spend a lot if time in each cave to see the details and to take fotos. Everything was well organized from Crystal Caves, only the start time of the tour had been changed. We were informed accordingly on different channels. We highly recommend this tour. It was a lot of fun and great experience. Thank you!

This was so much fun!! We hiked up a beautiful and spent about an hour exploring 5 amazing ice caves. These caves melt and new ones form yearly, so every experience is unique. Bjork was a fantastic guide and kept the tour safe and fun!

amazing trip today with arctic adventures. the tour guides were very knowledgeable and shared a lot about icelandic history which was fascinating. we went to a lot of caves that were unique and there was ample time to explore at our own pace

10/10 would 10000% recommend! The icecaves were incredible, the huge jeep was really cool, and the tour guide was not only extremely knowledgeable, but absolutely hilarious! Would definitely be his friend in real life because laughing that much is definitely my jam! For sure the highlight of my trip!

Overall a wonderful experience it lasted several hours and was appropriate for what there was to see. Would highly recommend going a little earlier on th season as mid/lte April is the tail end.

We joined the 3 hours ice cave tour. The panorama is sooo amazing.. very easy meeting point.. very responsive admins in apps.. Very nice tour guide that told us the story of the ice cave and around.. Definitely VERY WORTH THE PRICE.. Hopefully we can go back here again soon :)
