About Activity
Going to Cu Chi by boat offers a different perspective to the landscape leading to this famed war-time attraction. We head to the Central Boat Pier in Ho Chi Minh City and start a one-hour cruise along the Saigon River for a relaxing journey that bypasses the frenetic activity of the metropolis. Upon arrival, you will watch a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed and then climb down through a hatch into a tunnel to get an insight into this maze of passageways constructed in 1948 during the fight against French occupation in the First Indochina War. By the time the Vietnam War escalated in the 1960s, a 250 km warren spanned from Saigon to the border with Cambodia. The network used to contain living quarters, storage rooms, weapon factories and field hospitals. After exploring the tunnels, you will be served a refreshing drink and board the boat for the return journey to Ho Chi Minh City.
