About Activity
Experience the captivating Mekong Delta, an area known as the ‘Land of Nine Dragons’ because of the nine rivers that flow into it. The Delta’s fertile soil has made it an agricultural miracle – it produces over a third of the country’s annual food crops from just ten per cent of the nation’s total land mass. Accessed by a scenic two-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City, we board the Mekong Queen in Cai Be and cruise along a picturesque stretch of the Mekong River, savouring fresh fruits as we progress. A stop at Tan Phong Island involves a leisurely bicycle ride along village paths lined with lush orchards. We will meet friendly artisans who produce rice wine, bamboo handicrafts and eco-friendly products made from water hyacinth and banana fibre. Another highlight is silently gliding along narrow canals in sampans. Lunch is served in a beautifully restored traditional house. On the return to Cai Be, we witness this town’s lively trading activities A car transfer then takes us back to the hotel or onward to our next destination. For those who prefer not to cycle, a motorbike option is available at an additional cost, with guests riding as pillion passengers behind a skilled motorcyclist.
