Very disappointing check-in experience. During check-in, the staff asked where I lived. I declined to provide it, yet he continued by asking where I was renting my home. The way the question was posed felt intrusive and condescending, as if I was expected to provide such personal information without question. When I asked why this was required, I was told it was “required by law” and “according to police regulations.” I stayed at The Reverie Saigon just last month and was never asked for my home address, so I questioned whether this was actually a new legal requirement or simply Caravelle’s internal policy. Neither the staff nor the manager was able to provide any clear legal basis and simply repeated that they were “following police regulations.” What was even more disappointing was the manager’s dismissive and somewhat superior attitude when I raised a completely reasonable concern. Rather than feeling respected as a guest, I felt that I was being looked down on for simply asking a legitimate question. For a hotel positioning itself as a 5-star property, I expected staff to be much better trained in professional communication and guest service. The issue is not about providing information when it is truly required by law; it is the lack of transparency, unclear justification, and the condescending manner in which a legitimate guest inquiry was handled.

The hotel is located just next to all the various brands, eg. LV, Chanel, Burberry, etc. It’s also only a 10min walk to Japan Street, although I would recommend taking Grab/taxi due to the heat of the weather. Lots of good eating/drinking places over there along Japan Street. The rooms are very clean and the beds are really comfortable. The staff there are very friendly and helpful. Did a facial at the hotel spa which was great but unfortunately there wasn’t enough time to do a massage. Almost every staff I spoke to over there speaks decent English so communication is not a problem.
Had a very pleasant stay at Caravelle Hotel. The hotel is well maintained, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the service was consistently professional. I especially enjoyed the spa on the 7th floor. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience very comfortable. A special thank you to the receptionist, who was extremely helpful, welcoming, and professional throughout my visit. Highly recommended.
I have stayed at the wonderful Caravelle Saigon many times over the years — both for business and holidays — and it truly feels like my home away from home. The hotel itself is excellent, with beautiful rooms, perfect location, outstanding food, and world-class service. But what makes Caravelle truly special is the amazing team at the Signature Lounge on the 9th floor. Every visit feels like coming home to family thanks to Nam, Nhi, Huy and the entire lounge team. Their kindness, professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine warmth are simply exceptional. Whether you arrive tired after a long business trip or ready to enjoy a vacation, they always make you feel welcome, valued, and relaxed. The Signature Lounge experience is among the very best I have experienced anywhere in the world — elegant, personal, and consistently outstanding. Thank you again to the entire Caravelle team for creating such a unique atmosphere and for always delivering service with a smile. Highly recommended — 5 stars without hesitation.
I was surprised with my experience here as I’d thought that the hotel is 5 stars. However, with service and other factors, it’s worth as a 2- 3 star hotel. Location is great and easy to walk around the city. Front desk staffs were not friendly and caring. Super unprofessional. Need to train their staffs at front desk with better communication and customer service. Room was okay generally. The closet was super stinky (smell like people without shower and deodorant). Towels in room were super old and ripped off the edge. With that price range, I will never stay here again!
