What a fantastic day! Our guide, Naomi was magnificent and really tailored the tour to our interests. Due to our experience in medicine she created a special trip to the Teishin Hospital Peace Museum as well as doing the Peace Park. She was very knowledgeable and her English was excellent (she taught herself English!). Our trip to Miyajima was fabulous as well with us after seeing the Tori gate we went to the Daishon Temple that was absolutely beautiful and much less crowded. On the way back to the ferry area we walked through little traveled streets. She planned a great lunch of local okonomiyaki with a wonderful proud chef! We learned about her, her family and important traditions that we would have missed if not for her! One of our best days in Japan. Felt like we have a new friend.

The Atomic Bomb Dome is a symbol of peace for the city of Hiroshima. Used originally as a prefectural hall, the dome was blown up during the blast, killing everyone inside. However the structure of the dome remained and has been used as a symbol of the people’s wish for peace ever since, and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. Your guide will offer you history and explanations, while allowing you to reflect on the tragedy that occurred.
Located next to the Dome, the Peace Memorial Park was once a busy commercial downtown area. These days it is a quiet green space, dedicated to remembering those we lost and our hope for a more peaceful future. The guide will help you traverse the park, providing history and explanations when you wish.
The Memorial Museum will be a somber experience, where you will see belongings left by the victims of the bombing as well as heart-wrenching testimony by the survivors. View photos of the massive devastation at the time and learn about the military aspect of the attack. The guide will step back and allow you to process the exhibits in your own way.
Known worldwide for its iconic floating torii gate, Itsukushima is the symbol of Miyajima Island. This is a beautiful, peaceful place where you can bask in the sun while enjoying the seaside views. The roaming deer that wander everywhere make this island quite unique too. After viewing the tori gate, move on to Itsukushima Shrine. The shrine consists of a prayer hall, a main hall and a noh theater stage, which are connected by boardwalks and supported by pillars above the sea.
Daiganji Temple is dedicated to Benzaiten, the Goddess of eloquence, music, wisdom and wealth, and is known as one of the three most famous Benzaiten Temples in Japan.
This old shopping street is filled with deer and many shops, restaurants and cafes. Wander at your own pace, stop for a snack or to buy some souvenirs.

This tour is wonderful!!! Our guide was friendly and VERY knowledgeable. She was able to explain a lot of the significance behind each memorial Hiroshima spot and also answered all our questions. Then when we went to the island we got a full tour of the shrine and two temples. It is a lot of walking so if you are okay with that you will love this tour! We were all able to walk everything with no issues.
Aki is an amazing tour guide! We've had several tours in Japan within the past week, and hers was outstanding! Her knowledge of the tiniest details of the trip, such as which ferry arrives closest to the Torii Gate, shows her expertise. She has the best recommendations for street food, and knows the best vantage point for pictures. There were several points during the day when she went above and beyond for a family member who was struggling with mobility, to the point where she got a wheelchair from the museum and proceeded to push them up and down hills and around the museum and the park for the rest of the day. We can't say enough wonderful things about Aki. If we could give her 10 stars, we would!
We booked a private tour for the two of us, and it was quite useless. The guide hardly spoke to us. During transfers, he would sit separately from us and provided very little information unless we specifically asked questions all the time. The only time he really joined us was during the lunch break, where he let us pay for his meal without us offering to do so. We were also repeatedly asked to take photos for his agency. It was absolutely not worth the $360 we paid.
Hiroshima is a beaitiful place and and a place of great historical interest. Our guide Koji took care of us in a very professional way yet in a very personal and friendly manner. His deep knowledge about Japan, its history and people, was indeed very interesting to us. We learned a lot! This day is something we will always treasure. Thanks a lot!
Such a special and memorable tour! Excellent communication and planning to fit your specific needs and we loved our guide Akie!
This tour did all the attractions in Hiroshima Our guide Tomoe was excellent she was very attentive to our needs and intrest
Great way to see Hiroshima’s highlights including Miyajima Island in one day. Our guide (Kota) was fluent in english and knowledgeable.
We had a wonderful experience with Kahori as our guide in Miyajima Island and Hiroshima. She was incredibly kind, patient, and thoughtful throughout the entire tour, and made sure everything ran smoothly and comfortably for us. Kahori was very knowledgeable and shared many interesting stories and insights about everything we visited. On Miyajima Island, we explored the beautiful shrine and saw the impressive Buddha statues, which was truly special. In Hiroshima, she guided us through the Peace Park, showed us the remaining historic buildings, and accompanied us through the museum, which was very moving and deeply impressive. Her explanations made the visit even more meaningful. Overall, Kahori is a fantastic guide — warm, professional, and very informative. We highly recommend her to anyone visiting Miyajima and Hiroshima.
We had a fantastic day with our tour guide Kahori. She had so much knowledge of everywhere we visited and made the day run so smoothly for us. She was warm, welcoming and so helpful.
What an emotional tour. The tour guide was amazing. Hiroshima was a very peaceful place. But sad from what happened
We had a great day with our guide Koji who showed us around Hiroshima and Miyajima island. We had a great lunch and Koji showed us all his favourite spots. Would recommend getting to the Hiroshima peace museum early as it was unfortunately very busy and we didn’t get to spend as much time as we would have liked there (no fault of Koji who tried to give us as much time as possible.) Would definitely recommend.
Great tour, lots of walking but well worth it. Do the museum in morning as it gets crowded. The tour guide was excellent and gave great insight.
Tomoe was a great guide and very knowledgeable about the area and its history. We really enjoyed her insights and her well organized trip. We would highly recommend her and the company for the service and the value. We had a wonderful time!
Akie was fantastic. In the shortened time we had because of our schedule she was able to get us to all of the places that were important to us. Knowledgeable and very likable she addressed everything in a prompt and professional manner. Highly recommend.
Michi is a fantastic guide and made our tour today so special! She met us at our cruise ship and made recommendations of the best ways to arrange our day. We began with a fast ferry to Miyajima Idlamd in the morning so we could see the beautiful gate during high tide so it appears to be floating. Then we visited the shrine which was wonderful. After a great local-fare lunch we took the tram to Hiroshima where we saw the Peace Museum and more. Without Michi we absolutely could not have seen all we did today. She was incredibly kind and accommodating and her English is perfect! Highly recommend Michi!
We booked this tour as we only had a full day in Hiroshima and wanted to make sure we managed to include all the main attractions. We were not disappointed, Miyu was such an amazing guide! Her knowledge and enthusiasm for her hometown was just amazing and we really got to do all the things we wanted to do; the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, the Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome and a trip to Miyajima Island which was so beautiful! Miyu recommended places to stop for lunch and gave us so much information about the places she showed us that we really felt that we learnt a lot. She even showed us how to fold the paper cranes, which sparked an new interest in our youngest son who now really enjoys the art of origami. We highly recommend this trip and especially Miyu as a guide!
We had the pleasure of touring Hiroshima with Nagako, and she was absolutely fantastic. Even though the weather was rainy, she made sure we saw everything we wanted to and gave us one of the most memorable days of our entire trip to Japan. Nagako is incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of Hiroshima, and she shared it all with warmth and passion. She’s also one of the kindest and most dedicated guides we’ve ever met—completely focused on making sure we had a great experience from start to finish. We also really enjoyed having lunch with her—it felt like spending time with a friend. And after the tour, she even went out of her way to help us change our Shinkansen tickets, which we truly appreciated. Thank you, Nagako, for an unforgettable day in Hiroshima!
Trip was amazing . Had a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide by the name of Nagako . She was outstanding, spoke great English and was very accommodating when we needed it . Seeing Hiroshima bomb site can be very somber but helps to see how we all suffer from war. We need to have peace in our world !
We had an absolutely wonderful tour today and it was because of our very knowledgeable tour guide Nagako. Her information on Hiroshima was fantastic!
We had an amazing tour of Hiroshima with Kahori. We initially had planned to see the Peace Park & the island, but the weather wasn’t good that day & our cruise ship changed our “back on board” time. That left us with plenty of time to explore the park, museum, AND Orizuru Tower. We also stopped at a local restaurant for lunch. So amazing! We also needed the tour to be accessible because I use a wheelchair & it was!!! I highly recommend this tour!
Our tour guide was incredible. She was kind, knowledgeable and informative, and organized. She really helped to make our trip to Kyoto memorable.
We had the most wonderful tour around Hiroshima: the Peace Memorial Museum, the Children’s Statue with the nearby colorful origami cranes symbolizing wishes for peace, the A-Dome, and Miyajima. Our guide Michi was incredibly well-informed about Hiroshima’s history, and sheparded us to a fantastic restaurant for lunch, even in the middle of crowded “Golden Week.” And, she went above and beyond the call of duty by helping us find our train platform for the following day, teaching us how to make origami peace cranes, and helping us navigate the shopping mall for a travel sandwich for the following day. One could not have asked for a better tour or guide!
Kahori was helpful and very nice to have show us around Hiroshima. She was very informative in the area and made sure we were comfortable the whole time. Thank you
Wow! Best guide ever! If you need a guide to be fluent in English and supremely informative/intelligent, get a university professor like Tomoe.
Friendly, informed and interesting. Very good company and flexible with the schedule when we wanted to change some things
Though the tickets say ferry included, we had to pay extra. Our guide Aki was nice and informative. We would have liked more time at peace park.
Our guide Michi-san was Ichiban (No. 1) guide you can ever ask for 😊👍🫶🏼. She listens to what you like to see/eat and caters the tour with efficient use of time. We very much enjoyed the day we got to spend with Michi-san and hope we get to have another opportunity to visit a wonderful and beautiful Hiroshima in a future. Thank you Michi-san for a memorable tour!
Great guide! She was really informative and was able to fit in a lot in a short time despite all the crowds because of the cherry blossom season. We would recommend.
This tour was outstanding. Mishi our tour guide was a one of a kind person who went out of her way to provide us with an unforgettable day. I am a wheelchair user so I have to plan around access points but she took time to ensure that my wheelchair wasn't an issue with any of the activities. I loved every minute.
The guide Nagako Okamoto was excellent! She took us to amazing places and provided interesting information. She also was very nice to be with, funny, patient and kind.
The tour was absolutely brilliant made all the better by our guide “Kahori Mantoku”…she was a wealth of knowledge on all things Hiroshima and so kind and calm and took us to some amazing places…we were sad when the tour ended as we felt we were saying goodbye to a friend….will definitely be back and recommend to all our friends… Thank you Kahori
Our day trip to Hiroshima was a great experience to do the private tour with Michi (Minami). She planned the itinerary such that we could avoid the long lines at the Itsukushima shrine in Miyajima, had a reserved table to experience Hiroshima style okonomiyaki, and made our way through some shopping - including suggestions for what to try (fried oysters, local beer, and yuzu soda). Michi’s local expertise was excellent the way we navigated back to Hiroshima station after our visit to the Peace Memorial, along with some last minute shopping for the famous momiji manju not having to spend time finding the store, so that we could make it in time for our train back to Kyoto. Michi is a great host with a kind personality to make your day comfortable at every step.
Hiroshima, Japan, is a city that leaves a profound impression on every visitor. Known around the world for its tragic history, the city has gracefully transformed into a symbol of peace, resilience, and hope. My recent trip to Hiroshima was nothing short of extraordinary, and I couldn’t help but feel deeply moved by its unique blend of somber remembrance and the lively spirit of renewal, especially with our guide Nagako, simply the best.
We had the best day touring around Hiroshima with Mizu our guide. She was very friendly and informative and we thoroughly enjoyed the day out. Miryjima was a wonderful experience and we learnt a lot about Japanese culture. Mizu showed us how to fold a paper crane on the train at the end of the day! I would highly recommend this day tour.
Aki was an excellent tour guide. She took great care of us, including my young daughter. Her knowledge of Japanese culture and history is remarkable.
We did the Hiroshima and Miyajima tour as a day trip from Kyoto. It was definitely a highlight of our trip to Japan. My children (23 and 18) thought it was the best thing we did all trip. We started with Miyajima in the morning and it was stunning. Our guide, Nagako, was excellent and provided an interesting and rich insights to the history and culture of both sights. As we got up early to travel from Kyoto it was a long day but well worth it. I would definitely recommend doing the tour.
What a fantastic day we had in Hiroshima with our local guide Kahori. It was well worth having a full day to experience and explore the sights of the city in a personalised and relaxed manner. Our guide was personable and knowledgeable and took time to explain not only the history relating to Hiroshima but the daily life and culture of the Japanese. She organised lunch in a local small traditional restaurant which added enormously to our local experience. We had a great day. Would recommend it.
Nagako was an amazing tour guide! We had a wonderful day visiting miyjima island and seeing the local deer! We tried the local onomiyaki which was delicious. After lunch we visited the A bomb dome and museum - while very confronting, it is a must see for any tourist wanting to learn more about Hiroshima’s history.
Azusa was great! She met us in the lobby of our hotel (The Knot) and was ready to go. She was very knowledgeable of the areas/site and history and worked with our schedule. She translated our needs to the local vendors to assist with purchases. The tour was seamless! We had to end early and she was kind enough to take us to the Shinkansen line to catch our train back to Tokoyo. I would definitely recommend her!
We had an absolutely fabulous day touring Osaka, Hiroshima, and Miyajima with Motoko as our guide. Despite the cold weather, we were lucky to experience a bit of snow, which added a magical touch to the day. Motoko's warm and engaging personality made the entire experience even more special. Her deep knowledge of the local history and temples was truly insightful, and we learned so much while exploring these beautiful locations. She shared fascinating stories and cultural details that brought the sites to life. One of the highlights of the day was the incredible lunch of local oysters and okonomiyaki – both were absolutely delicious and gave us a real taste of the region's culinary delights. Motoko's company was lovely throughout, and we genuinely enjoyed every moment with her. We would wholeheartedly recommend her as a guide to anyone looking to explore these areas. Thank you so much, Motoko, for an unforgettable experience!
Mizuho our guide was very informative, considerate and caring. She made my family feel very welcome and overall the tour itself was eye opening.
Our guide Nagako was wonderful! We learned so much throughout our day. She explained everything so well and shared so much of the important history of Hiroshima.
Miyuki went above and beyond to make our trip to Miyajima Island and Hiroshima unforgettable. As a native of Hiroshima, she has a wealth of insight you wouldn’t have if you had navigated these sites yourself. I can't recommend her enough; the tour has been the highlight of our trip so far!
Our tour guide Dolly was lovely and knowledgeable. The Shrine, the traditional Japanese tempura restaurant and pace of the day was great! Thank you
Mizu was a great guide! We enjoyed our day exploring Hiroshima with her! We went to the Peace Memorial and Museum, to the island with the floating Torri gate and enjoyed a fantastic lunch with deep discussions!
Miyuki was an excellent guide around Hiroshima and Miyajima. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. We loved the experience and would highly recommend!
We had a fabulous day in Hiroshima with our guide, Nagako. First we went to Miyajima and enjoyed the wonderful sights there - including the huge red Torii gate and shrine. Nagako knew all the best spots for photos, and shared her wonderful knowledge on the sights around the island, always able to answer our questions. After lunch, we went to the Hiroshima peace park and museum, a really moving and informative experience. The whole day went really smoothly and absolutely flew by. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Hiroshima!!
We met Nagako at the Shinkansen station for our day trip to Miyajima and Hiroshima. She was wonderful! She is so knowledgeable about the history of the areas and was very personal. We all remarked about how sensitive and caring she was, too, while in Hiroshima and visiting the various monuments and the peace museum. It was a very moving experience and we were so glad to have had Nagako there with us!
Very good experience with our tour guide, Momo. She was very accommodating with our food and meeting point/time requests. We discussed many interesting facts about Japanese culture and habits. The itinerary was also excellent. Even my 15-year-old son, despite being somewhat tired of walking, commented that the places we visited were very interesting. We also took a few super cool pictures with the wild deers on the island!
