Hiroshima 2hr Peace Cycling Tour With Local Guide

Our cycling tour in Hiroshima was honestly one of the highlights of our entire trip to Japan! Our guide Thomas was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and such a great storyteller. We loved learning about Hiroshima’s history and culture in a way that felt engaging, personal, and meaningful. We couldn’t recommend this tour enough! If you’re visiting Hiroshima, this is an experience you absolutely shouldn’t miss.

Shiro did an excellent job explaining the history of the dropping of the atomic bomb in Hiroshima. While very sad, he helped explain the situation from before the war to the recovery effort. It was great learning the history from the perspective of a local, and Shiro really explained everything thoroughly and told the story not only of devastation, but of hope and rebirth. He certainly enriched me with his knowledge. I learnt a lot and found this tour really valuable. Thanks again Shiro-san!

The guide was great and the bikes were fun, but I would recommend skipping the bikes and spending all your time in Peace Memorial Park with a tour guide. The additional sites you see because you have a bike really aren't that great - not worth the time and effort.

We would give this ten stars if we could!! Great experience. Kana, our guide, is incredible! So knowledgeable and shared such insightful details and personal stories from survivors. She answered all of our questions and we had great discussions at every stop. I think this tour helps you see points of interest you might miss if you're on your own. The electric bikes were top notch and Kana did a great job of making sure we felt safe and knew what we were doing. This is an amazing experience and we loved spending time with Kana!

Shin was an exceptional tour guide for us. He made this experience so memorable. He showed us the history of Hiroshima through his own Lens. His energy, knowledge, positive energy and especially his talent for language is truly magnificent.

Kerl was excelent!! Especially the story of the ending was impressive. It reminds me when I was in Nanjing in China. We need to retrospect the past. Kerl has a lot of trivia we can not Google.

Amazing tour of the peace park and surrounding neighbourhood with Shin who has a personal connection to the a-bomb which made it all feel very real. Our children (14 and 12) were fascinated by the history, and also by Shin who was charming and charismatic. Little touches made it easy, he provided neck fans, always found shade and stopped for water, so despite it being a very hot day it wasn’t uncomfortable (and bikes are electric!). Can’t recommend this enough - you’ll get a sense of the history and make a friend along the way!

We had an amazing tour with Shiro! He was so friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. The bikes were comfortable and easy to use. He had so much information to share with us and our two teens on our tour. It was absolutely the highlight of our 2 week Japan trip for me!

This cycle tour was so touching. Real experience with a local who was very informative but also managed to make the tour light hearted and fun. High recommend this tour.

Wonderfully engaging tour with Shiro. His family story is moving and his knowledge and understanding of what happened in August 1945 is both interesting to listen to and hard to take in, as his family was in Hiroshima when the bomb dropped. Book the tour and ask lots of questions. He is so humble and it is a honour to listen to him. The bike ride itself is gentle.

Karl was awesome! He taught me so much about the Memorial Peace Park and the other areas affected by the atomic bomb. The bikes allowed us to go explore further areas compared to a walking tour. It was a very moving experience and I definitely recommend it!

Great tour that kept 3 college kids and parents entertained and engaged. Karl is knowledgeable and brought up history that is not as well known.

Was a great tour, the tour guide (Shiro) was great, he had extensive knowledge and facts that we may not have found out without him. The tour sites were very cool and interesting. 2hrs was perfect length of time, not too long not too short. Thankyou Shiro!

Wonderful knowledge providing great history of Hiroshima before the bombing and then some very personal family stories of how they coped after the war and how they are continuing to keep the memory of the event current so that we never forget what occurred.

Very interesting listening to Shiro talk about the history of Hiroshima, how the city came to be, how the bombing affected the city and people, and the aftermath, it was nice hearing positive stories to come from the bombing. And fun to ride the e-bikes. I highly recommend this tour if you visit Hiroshima.

Had an amazing tour with Shin and Tobi. We learned so much about Hiroshima’s history and loved hearing a local’s experience. Great for our family of four with two teens.

Shen took us on a journey explaining the dark history of Hiroshima through facts and personal family stories. He highlighted the rise and fight back of the people longing for peace in the world.

We had a really great experience! We arrived late and notified the organisation. They adapted and made sure they could pick us up at the meeting point. On top of that, Kana, our wonderfull guide, took her time to explain everything we had missed. The tour itself was also great, giving an insight into the impact of the A-bomb on the city and its people, combining fact with memorable anecdotal stories. Thank you!

We did a cycling tour in Hiroshima with Sokoiko, guided by Shin, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We were quite limited on time as we were heading on to Miyajima afterwards, but the electric bikes and Shin’s excellent local knowledge meant we were able to make the absolute most of the time we had. The pace was relaxed and enjoyable, and Shin gave us a great insight into Hiroshima’s history and modern-day culture in a way that felt personal and engaging rather than rushed or scripted. The e-bikes made getting around effortless, even in the heat, and allowed us to cover much more than we could have on foot. A really enjoyable experience and a fantastic way to see Hiroshima efficiently if you’re short on time. Highly recommended.

Karl and Cotty were fantastic tour guides! I feel as though this tour was more meaningful rather than doing a self guided tour. We received so much knowledge and education through them. I highly recommend this tour. It was a very humbling experience.

Kana is a wonderful guide, full of information with a added sense of humour, she kept us inthralled as she recounted the history of Hiroshima, pre-war years until upto the present. Tomas wasn’t a tour guide. He was a story teller painting a vivid picture of the history of Hiroshima. I’ve never felt such an emotional impact on myself while cycling through a city. There is no better way to experience Hiroshima than this one.
