1day Hiroshima Miyajima & Bomb Dome Private Tour (No Private Car)

This was our favorite tour on our 10 day trip to Japan. Our guide Keiko was simply amazing! She was so welcoming, and had a great sense of humor. She also had an extensive knowledge of Hiroshima and the Peace Park Museum and all locations we went to, to learn more about the devastation of the atomic bomb. She shared personal stories that truly brought things into reality for us. This tour was also filled with peace, hope, and joy and our afternoon on the island was enlightening and fun. We would 100% recommend this tour, this company and hopefully you are lucky enough to have Keiko as your guide! Thank you!

Keiko was fantastic! Super friendly, very knowledge and real time saver on the public transportation. We jammed a lot into one day and Keiko made it happen! I can’t imagine how stressful our day would have been if we had to focus on the transportation. All my family had to do is enjoy the experience! I have done several Viator tours but I felt this did not meet their standards. Did not go to any additional places like they said. We only went to the Dome, Museum and Island, no special places. I think it was expensive because you did have to pay for transportation. (bus, train, ferry)

We booked this tour for our day in port from the cruise ship. It was the perfect mix of activities, including a fantastic lunch between the Peace Park and the island. Tommy was a great guide and was flexible in letting us add a few stops and try some local foods. Fantastic day in Hiroshima.

The communicstion with the tour company leading up to the day of the tour was exceptional. We experienced delays on the day of the tour, our doing but the tour company went above and beyond to assist in connecting us with our tour guide, Rena. Rena was great in making sure everything was looked after before leaving on the tour, including lockers for our backpacks. Rena was a knowledgeable guide and because of our tardiness was flexible within the tour schedule by switching to cabs (our cost, our suggestion) instead of trains which shortened travel time. Found us a great restaurant for lunch and during our travels made suggestions that allowed us to sample Japanese cuisine. Would not hesitate in booking another tour with this company and would happily have Rena as a guide.

Our tour of Hiroshima was an unforgettable experience, thanks to our incredible guide, Yuta. He navigated the heavy history of the Atomic Bomb Dome and the Peace Memorial Park with immense grace and respect, providing deep historical context that brought the stories to life in a way a guidebook simply can't. ​What truly made the day special was that Yuta took us off the beaten path to some lesser-known, serene areas that were absolutely breathtaking. We met Yuta for an all day Hiroshima tour. It was definitely one of our top highlights of our 2 week trip to Japan. Yuta met us at the train station as we traveled from Kyoto. He was very knowledgeable and had us engaged and interested from the beginning. We really like the balanced approach of seeing many different areas of Hiroshima. Wow what an amazing experience! From our pick-up at the hotel, learning the history of the beautiful city Hiroshima and its sobering past, to an early morning ferry to explore Miyajima island, and lunching on okonomiyaki at the BEST restaurant in town this was a fantastic tour. Minori is a local, passionate, fun, and knowledgeable guide who provides tremendous insight of her hometown. This tour was truly a highlight of our trip to Japan.

My daughter and I had an amazing tour and day with Minori. She met us at the train station and from there we hit the ground running. We were able to choose the sites we wanted to visit, she throughly explained the importance of the sites we toured and pointed out areas for us to see that we would have overlooked touring ourselves. She took us to the most amazing place for lunch. The food was amazing!!! She was patient with us, assisted in photos.....I can not recommend her enough if you are looking for a fabulous tour in Hiroshima and Miyajima. You will not be disappointed!!

We had a walking tour of Hiroshima with Minori on a beautiful summers day. She was extremely knowledgeable and took us to some spots such as the underground survivors basement and the Shukkeien Garden which we wouldn’t have gone to if we went alone. Minori was super friendly and we had some interesting discussions as we walked around the key sights. Would definitely recommend to anyone exploring Hiroshima for the first time. We had the most amazing morning to Miyajima Island from Hiroshima. We visited Itsukushima Shrine and Daishouin Temple before doing a little souvenir shopping. Fabulous day with Yuta at Hiroshima/Miyajima. Our guide was outstanding — engaging, knowledgeable, and genuinely attentive to each member of our family (husband, wife, and adult daughter, aged 34). We especially appreciated how he combined a deep understanding of Japan’s history with thoughtful insights into how those events continue to shape the country today. He was, without question, our favourite guide during our time in Japan. We rated him a 6 on a scale of 1 to 5 — and later, after discovering a heartfelt thank-you note tucked into our farewell treats, we agreed he truly deserved a 7 out of 5!

Minori was our guide and she was absolutely excellent. Promptly after making the booking she reached out to introduce herself and stayed in contact regularly following up to help develop an itinerary that suited our group, and to ensure our meeting arrangements were all confirmed. She met us at the train station and proceeded to take great care of for the entire day. The highlight of our visit to Hiroshima was this tour guided by Rena. Rena taught us so much - her knowledge and insights of the local culture and history were both informative and fun (I.e her favourite saki). We highly recommend touring with Rena.

Our guide Minori was fantastic. She had planned everything and was open to changes on the run. Her obvious pride for her city shone through and her knowledge was exemplary. Having spent two weeks working our own way around it was a relief to have a day where everything was arranged and we just had to follow. Minori constantly asked for our input or if we wanted to do different things. The lunch spot was something we would never have found ourselves but was brilliant and inexpensive. Despite some rain and low cloud cover making viewing at Mt Misen impossible we still had a great day

Fantastic and very moving tour, I would highly recommend. Fantastic communication with Minori prior to the tour and she was very committed to designing an itinerary that was perfect for us. She was a great guide with lots of interesting insights and the tour finished with a great lunch at the kind of restaurant only a local would know.

We did a wonderful whole day tour with Rena. She was delightful. She is extremely knowledgeable, extremely helpful and accommodating and has excellent English skills. She met us promptly in the lobby of our hotel, and then we went to the Hiroshima memorial for the atomic bomb. She is very resourceful. Because of bad weather, the train have been canceled, but she got us there in a very timely fashion. The tour of the area around where the atomic bomb struck was extremely comprehensive and very interesting. We got a lot of local insight. We went for lunch and she was wonderful here. One of our group pads, life-threatening allergies to almost everything and.Rena managed to get us all sushi served safely. She went out of their way. We then went to be Miyajima island. Again, because the train was closed she figured out a way to get us there. It was fast and convenient. She took it all around the island and again explain everything in a very interesting way. She was very sensitive to make sure that we had a chance to rest as well. Although it was a long day, it was fascinating. We would highly recommend it. Thanks again.

Minori picked us up at the Port and we then took taxis to Miyajima Island. It was so easy with Minori guiding us and explaining everything as we move around. We tried the local oysters and fresh lemon juice, which were delicious. We then took the high speed ferry to peace Park. We had a delicious lunch at an okinomiyaki Japanese pancake restaurant. It was such a great experience eating at a local restaurant. We then went to ground zero and the museum. We had a great day and would not have been able to do this without Minori. She was very informative and a great wealth of knowledge. Thank you Minori. I would not hesitate in recommending this tour and guide.

We had a great tour in Hiroshima with our guide Minori. Despite rain all day long, she was making our tour an interesting and informative experience. Without guide we would never had that backgrund in culture and history. Even shorttracks in crowded places were included! Arigatou gozaimasu

Tour was very informative & solemn especially visiting the Hiroshima sites & atomic bomb museum. Miyajima was pretty too & was able to see the Torii gate in the water. But didn’t have time to do the ropeway.

We had a wonderful day exploring and learning so much aboutvthe history and culture of Hiroshima, Miyajima island and the atomic bomb dome, peace park and museum, thanks to our amazing, insightful, lovely tour guide Grace "Saori". We visited some sites that we would never have found on our own. The pace of the tour was perfect. We had lots of time to absorb the information and enjoy the beautiful sites and scenery and take lots of photos. Grace was so insightful, she was fun to talk to and helped us navigate the transportation to and from the attraction sites with ease. We also enjoyed a wonderful lunch of oysters which is a Miyajima local delicacy. Grace also took some wonderful photos of us too which she shared with us. Everything was very well organised and timed. Good value tour and we really had such a fun tour and loved Grace's company. I highly recommend this tour. We loved it!
