The Royal Park Hotel Hiroshima Riverside

Very nice accommodation. Located off main street, with a nice walking and sitting area behind the hotel by the river. Comfortable beds close to convenience stores and grocery outlets with very good selections of prepared foods. Close to train station.

I thought it was pretty good, duck feather pillows of 2 sizes. Isn’t the pillow the most important part of the hotel - I mean - what your head actually rests on all night? All the rest is sort of an extra.

The hotel left a positive impression with its clean, comfortable rooms and a magnificent breakfast. However, the service was disappointing. ​I paid for a late check-out until 12:00 PM because I had an important online meeting scheduled for 11:00 AM. When I arranged this at the reception, I was not informed that a fire alarm test would begin at 11:30 AM. As a result, the deafening noise made it impossible to continue my meeting, and I was forced to cut it short. ​I find it unfair to charge for an extension when the conditions in the hotel make it impossible to stay in the room. Had I been warned in advance, I would have opted to hold my meeting at a cafe. The service clearly lacked coordination and basic consideration for the guest.

Very clean hotel, with amazing breakfast. In walking distance from some very nice and cosy bars and restaurants. Well connected with public transport to the ferry for Miyazima and to the Dome and Peace memorial park and museum.
