Whale Away Guest House

Super nice host, great location and all around good service. Parking is possible securely inside the gate. The rooms are okay, but not amazing. Styling, quality and maintenance good be improved. But don’t get me wrong, it’s totally fine and earns the 4 stars for the rooms. Just for us, it wasn’t 5 stars all around.

Our stay at Whale Away Guesthouse was absolutely amazing. We were welcomed by the friendliest, most accommodating hostess we’ve ever met. She went out of her way to assist us, even offering to make dinner reservations and recommending wonderful activities in the area. The guesthouse itself is peaceful, spotless, and beautifully maintained. I especially loved the luxurious smell of the lotions and hand wash, and the towels were some of the loveliest I’ve ever used! A truly outstanding experience from start to finish. Well done to the team at Whale Away!

Short but sweet stay at Whale Away. Kirsten was a great host aiding us with a flexible check-in and provided plenty of local recommendations - even going as far to help book a reservation for us which was over and above what we expected. Our balcony room was spacious and clean with a perfect view of the sea.

Kirsten is such a wonderful host! She went out of her way to make our stay special – even organizing a vegan breakfast for me, although it wasn’t on the café menu. The rooms are beautifully decorated, each with its own charm, and the whole house smells amazing. We loved the spacious lounge upstairs with its view over the bay and the honesty bar – such a cozy place to relax. Kirsten also gave us fantastic restaurant recommendations, not only for the area but even for the next stop on our trip. The location couldn’t be better – just a short walk to the Cliff Path and about 10–15 minutes to the town centre. We felt completely at home and would love to come back one day!
