One of the must-see attractions in Helsinki During this excursion, you will also visit Seurasaari (known as “Squirrel island”), an open-air museum located on a beautiful green island just a few kilometers from the heart of Helsinki. The island is an oasis in the middle of the city and the museum, open in summer, displays the traditional Finnish way of life with its cottages, farm houses and manors from the past four centuries that have been brought here from all over Finland. The tame birds and squirrels provide a warm welcome to all visitors. The museum has 85 different buildings that tell about the lives and folk traditions of the local people in times past.
This was just OK. Our guide took us to all the major sites of interest, though we spent far too much time at the public library. Our driver spoke better English and was quite personable. We also went to some free museum and looked at old photographs of Helsinki, which was not useful. Overall, our group was not really impressed with the city.
It was very cold day but our guide took us almost all major important places in Helsinki and we are so pleased with his guide.
Our tour of Helsinki with Olga was absolutely incredible. From the moment we began, she tailored the day perfectly to fit our large group and our shared interest in Helsinki’s unique architecture and design. Her knowledge was outstanding—not only did she provide fascinating history and details at every stop, but she also brought the city to life with stories and insights we never would have discovered on our own. Olga did an amazing job balancing the needs of a larger group while keeping the experience personal, engaging, and fun. She made sure we saw the most beautiful and interesting parts of the city, with a special focus on the architecture and design that make Helsinki so unique. She also went above and beyond to make sure we experienced the local culture, including making sure we had the chance to try reindeer and local licorice! It was such a thoughtful touch and made the day even more memorable. If you are visiting Helsinki, I cannot recommend Olga highly enough. She made our day truly special and unforgettable.
Really enjoyed this tour. Guide was super easy to talk to and clearly knows Helsinki well, didn't feel like a rehearsed script. We hit all the main spots but it never felt rushed. Snacks and water were a nice touch too. Genuinely one of those tours where you actually come away having learned something. Would recommend.

Our guide Erich his driver Viktor were amazing! We had a last minute change in our cruise itinerary and were blessed to book this tour with Erich with only 24 hours notice. His knowledge of Helsinki was exceptional and he made every effort to show us all the highlights and make and our day exceptional. He has so much passion and positive energy-a perfect fit for our family.
We just had one day in Helsinki before heading north. We wanted to make the best use of our time and we did with Olga as our guide. And some of our group had physical limitations so we didn’t want to walk for miles on the cobblestones. If you have more time and don’t mind wandering around, you can see the city on your own, but a guided tour is very efficient and it met our needs.

Olga was so knowledgeable about the history and culture of Helsinki and we were able to see so much in a short 4 hour tour. <p>This was an excellent tour! Our guide was very well informed about Helsinki and Finland and its people. She gave us great insight. We would recommend this tour.<br/> There was only one hiccup. The provider sent a SMALL station wagon type vehicle with three skinny seats in the second row and one folded in the back of that row! With our guide and driver we were 6 persons! We would have been sitting with our knees up to our ears if we had taken this vehicle. The tour company did send another larger vehicle, but not without letting us know that this is what they use for four people. I did not reply that if we were midgets, it might have been ok.</p>

<p>To be honest, even though our expectations about Helsinki were high, the goods were even better! In 4 hours, our guide Cornelia provided us with a behind the scenes look at Finnish culture and most of all, with deep insights about a distinct and surprising way of life. She even led us to brief outings that were outside of the scheduled places! Overall, the best day in our 12 day Europe trip!</p>
