Ruslan was a wonderful guide. He developed a great walking tour for us, with the old and new (loved the library) and explained some history and the culture. The tour was just the right length (3 hours). We enjoyed asking questions and learning about Finland from him.

Our guide, Ruslan, was on time and well prepared for our 2 hour walking tour. He listened as well as he spoke and tried his best to answer all of our questions. We learned a lot about the city, its history, and the many special sites.
We had such a great tour and also our guide, Katia, was just amazing. She told so many interesting stories and side facts, I learned so much! Thank you so much. I highly recommend this tour.
Berte was extremely knowledgeable about her city and the tour was a great introduction to our city break. The mobile talk made a good backdrop to our stay in this beautiful city.
A snowy chilly start in Helsinkis Senates square we were received by Katia who warmed us up with her infectious knowledge and enthusiasm of Finland's capital.
Alvaro is just amazing . We loved our tour. His English is quite amazing and he knows everything . He explains with passion and knowledge.
Birte was our tour guide, there was extremely heavy rain, but she was fantastic, giving thorough details about the history of Finland and the people, she had great knowledge and we were very happy we continued the tour despite the heavy rain!
The tour and the tour guide were amazing. Highly recomended for anyone visiting Helsinki for the first time.
It was wonderful! Our guide, Alvero, was awseome! He knew his history and had a great sense of humor while sharing his knowledge.
I actually knew nothing about Helsinki, thanks to Jouko I have seen a lot of it! The tour was great, adjusted to my pace, he came up with a plan before the tour, exactly what I expected.
We had the pleasure to be guided by Mikael: we were led to many places which are not usually suggested on guides, and was nice having such a person expert in history. Definitely worth the two hours spent! If you have time we recommend it!
Our guide Siri was super nice and very friendly. The Tour hast been very informative and interesting. I would totally recommend this tour.
It was incredible, Alvaro was very funny and friendly. The informations were interesting. We loved the experience.
Jouko is an amazing story teller who gave us a fantastic trip around Helsinki. We learned a bit about everything, including the history, architecture, culture, language and food! I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to learn more about Helsinki and Finland in general.
My friends and I have been in Helsinki only for one day, so we decided to do the free walking tour hoping to see as much as possible, and we did! Our guide, Ed, made it really enjoyable and he was very friendly. If you want to learn the history of Helsinki and do a fun two-hour walk you must do this tour.
It was an enjoyable walk around Helsinki, our guide Ed was very entertaining and gave us many insightful stories and facts about the city. Totally recommended!
Had a lot of fun, learned a lot and really enjoyed Helsinki. The guide's name was Jonna, she spoke perfect Spanish and new everything about the city. 10/10
I wrote a review here but I got an email saying that the company got it removed, as they obviously did not like my honest feedback. The excuse was that it did not have enough detail and were not sure that it was for the correct company. Therefore, I will write again. So I attended a tour with GREEN CAP TOURS - yes they had GREEN CAPS, so it was definitely this company. Although the guide was friendly of sorts, his English accent was really bad, to the point that I could not hear him. Why have a guide who has bad English? But anyway we decided to stick with it as we had already invested our time in turning up. The guide was speaking as if he was reading from a book - a dull monotonous voice which just had no excitement. I can assume only that he forgot his morning coffee. The order of the tour was also strange - we did a lot of walking, and not a lot of talking. I am afraid that I had to leave the tour part way through, as it wasn't for me. I did also notice that some others also left. TripAdvisor offers the opportunity to leave honest feedback, and this is what I have done.
Our private tour guide had a lot of positive energy and was eager to teach us about the city yet we felt that compared to other walking tours, the experience was average. It is important that guides have high energy but they also need to have a deeper knowledge of government and history as we do expect to have more solid facts throughout the visit, especially with an older crowd as we are.
I observed that there were two free tours on freetour.com - one that starts at 10am and one that starts at 11am. I initially joined this tour as it fit in better with my timings during the day. However I had to leave as there were many points that were factually incorrect, or that were lacking important details. Although friendly, the guide is in need of improvement, and I would recommend that the overall feel of the tour lacked emotion and empathy. I joined the 11am tour instead run by another company and very much enjoyed it.
We took the walking tour in Russian around Helsinki. It was 3h but it never got even slighty boring thanks to our wonderful guide Kata. She was really knowledgeable and also fun. The tour was really well planned and we saw everything we wanted to see. We also asked Kata where we can find a great soup in Helsinki and she recommended us a wonderful place. So Kata if you read this review the Latvian group is really thankful to you for the great tour. Kristine
This a great way to know the center of Helsinki and hear exciting murder stories of Helsinki. We met several guides which were very talented and professional, we had a very enjoyable, customized evening. Thanks for the great arrangements to the perfect staff and guides! Highly recommended!
We were visiting Helsinki with a fairly large group, so we got split up into 2 groups. We got to with our guide Kata, who showed us around Helsinki. This bright and funny girl knew how to show us the city and tell us the story in an interesting an fun way. I wasn't bored for a second and got to learn a lot about Helsinki. The only thing I regret is that we forgot to tip this enthusiastic girl :( So in case you're reading this, supersorry and thank you for showing us around in an entertaining way!
As we tend to do in any city we get to, we've taken the Helsinki free walking tour. Out guide was Teemu S., a very funny guy with polished English and lots of stories - regarding both history and contemporary life. Excellent.
The tour was done by Álvaro, in Spanish, very good experience, a lot of data about the history of Helsinki and Finland with which I soaked in the culture and learned a lot, highly recommended if you are visiting Helsinki, 10.
The distance traveled was fine, the comments and story contribution very good, a brief but interesting talk about Helsinki and the village ends. Humor connotations included by our Siri guide who gladly answered all the questions of the group. Highly recommended
I toured with my wife Helsinki with Alvaro and a small group. Highly recommended. It is worth doing since Alvaro in this case will explain the history of the city very well and answer all the questions about the city. Very good guide, friendly, nice and very professional.
Our guide Álvaro gave us a very comprehensive tour of the history of Helsinki and Finland and was the ideal start to our little trip to the Finnish capital. Alvaro has a lot of information at hand and was very open to spontaneous questions, so the tour didn’t feel like a robot dictating a fixed script. The only suggestion I can think of would be to introduce more current culture during the tour. The historical information was fantastic, but the cultural aspects were reserved for the end. I would have liked to see the two components receive more balanced attention.
The tour with Ed was very informative, entertaining and fun. After almost two hours we had a good overview of Finland, Helsinki and history.
We have received some interesting information about Finland, Helsinki, history, inhabitants.
Jonna a lovely and very friendly guide. Great knowledge of the history of the country. Mix curiosities, history and anecdotes
Highly recommended tour with Sandra C. our Spanish guide who took us and recommended many sites of this beautiful city. Nice walk and explanations. I recommend it 100%
Excellent tour and excellent guide. It has made a historical and monumental tour of this beautiful city. Highly recommended
Thanks to Ed for the great tour. He gave us a good first impression of Helsinki and its history. Ed's banged up and it was a lot of fun listening to him.
