Daniela was a very informative guide - she set just the right pace for the day. I loved Porvoo!

This.was such a wonderful tour visiting Porvoo with the local guide. He was such a genuinely friendly helpful informative tour guide who showed us all around the historic town. Beautiful quaint historical shops & cafes to visit plus a stroll in the nature around the little town. I enjoyed it all.
Nice place to walk around and guide was excellent in explaining this old town. There are good cafes with pastries and quiches to try. Also, available is good coffee and chocolates.
Great little town. It was nice they booked an uber for pickup to meet up the rest of the group
An enjoyable and interesting trip out of Helsinki to this beautiful old town. Harry, our guide, was super informative and gave us a great overall history of the town. Most enjoyable day.
This was one of the best tours I've ever been on! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.
An older section of a town where much history has taken place. Now it seems to be mostly a spot for tourist. Not all that engaging for my interest.
Paula/Paola was our tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about the history of Porvoo including some insights on the famous people of the area. She walked with us from the bus stop at Porvoo, through the gardens and sights and pointed out facts along the way.
We had a fantastic day tour from start to finish! Our guide, Darius was incredibly knowledgeable and shared a wealth of information about the area's history, culture, and landmarks, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The city itself was clean, charming, and absolutely adorable. Hotel pickup was seamless, and the drive was comfortable and easy. Everything was well organized, and we left feeling like we had truly gotten to know the city. Highly recommend!
A great day out close to Helsinki. Peter is a very knowledgeable and likeable guy. Great insights about the town. Porvoo is a very picturesque spot. With great shops and cafes.
Paula was lovely and very informative. She knew the history the details of the famous people from the city and showed us all the monuments and sites, answered all of our questions throroghly and very warm and friendly. Highly recommend her to others.
This is a trip well worth doing. We started a bit later than scheduled due to a request from a fellow traveller, around noon, but that was never an issue. Our guide, Harry, made sure we arrived in Porvoo safe and sound (it was not a company tour van, rather we joined a public excursion bus to and back from Porvoo). Porvoo was small but charming. Harry proved to be an excellent guide, explaining concisely the history of Porvoo (and Finland in general) as we walked from one sight to the other. He definitely has an interesting personal perspective that separated him from the usual tour guides. We visited the shores of the river, the old town, castle hill and some parks. There was ample time to grab some food and souvenirs during our free time, and I was able to a little exploration on my own as well. It was never too crowded, and the locals are very kind people.
Our guide knew nearly nothing about the town. He would tell us something and when we’d ask for a bit more detail he’d say”I’m not knowledgeable on that” or “you’ll have to buy a book to learn that” or “I think so - maybe”. He even got dates wrong. He said the cathedral was built in the 1200’s and the man who worked in the cathedral said it was the 1400’s. The map in the town showed 19 locations to see and he only took us to a handful of those places. Waste of a lot of money!
Very nice tour. The tour guide was very friendly & knowledgeable. I enjoyed it
Good visit, small group, 6 total, very nice guide. Quite interesting place and wort the visit
Visiting Porvoo was great. A little history, nature walk, quaint town with treats at bakery, visit chocolate shop and free time for shopping. The guide we had was really great. The bad part was the transportation. Our bus broke down, waited for one bus after another to have room to pick us up on the road unsuccessfully. Eventually guide ordered us an Uber ride, which was great. Then returning home, bus ride that was scheduled didn’t work out, so our group walked to another town and luckily our guide bought us tickets to get back to Helsinki. He did his best to get us there and back, but it took 90 min longer for this trip than we had planned.
great place to visit if you have enough time pick up was efficient and our guide entertaining and knowledgable, for a deeper dive the museum was an option, you get 90 mins to browse and wander this quaint place - recommend
Harry was an excellent guide. He had a vast knowledge of the country, Helsinki and Porvoo. We enjoyed the small group size and were delighted to find out most of us were leaving on the same cruise.
The tour of Porvoo provided a great contrast to Helsinki. It’s a very picturesque village was brightly painted buildings and interesting shops. My tour guide Rachel was very knowledgeable and did a great job organizing the group.
Nice tour, though quite expensive. Porvoo is a small town with a few shops, museums, cafes and a church. Our guide gave lots of information about it and answered all of our questions. Would have been even better to have an extra hour in the town but a nice day out regardless.
Loved Porvoo! Super cute little town with restaurants and shops. Wish we had a bit more time to shop, but I am a shopper. We had about 1.5 hours for lunch and shopping. Our tour guides were very kind, knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend!
Very interesting tour of this historic village. It was nice to travel into the Finnish countryside and our guide Francisco was very knowledgeable and helpful. We especially liked that this trip was undertaken as part of a regular bus service and not as a specific tourist bus. The directions to the meeting point were perfect. Overall Porvoo was interesting for a half day excursion.
A nice break from Helsinki. Learned a lot about Finlands history and the old part of Porvoo was very charming. The area is not that big, but still we walked through the Woods and old city. Paula or guide was the sweetest ever, her english was Perfect and so willing for us to have a good time.
We had a wonderful tour of Porvoo with our guide Daniela. She was wonderful: very friendly, full of knowledge and took her time to show thre old part of town but also the new part of it . We highly recommend this tour!
You will travel from Helsinki to Porvoo (and back) on a regular Intercity bus. Guide will buy you tickets and will show you the seats. Guide will not comment or describe anything you see on the way. Then, the guide will show you briefly a few places around Porvoo, give very brief basic comments and let you walk around Porvoo for an hour or so. IMHO, you should save your money and do this trip yourself.
Rachel was a fabulous guide and very knowledgeable.
Fantastic tour to Porvoo. Francisco, our tour guide lead us and knowledgeably informed us about an older part of Finland, its history and importance. Great time exploring the town.
Peter, our guide was wonderful. He was on time and very friendly. He has a great knowledge about Porvoo and is passionate for Helsinki and Finland. It was good to go early as Porvoo gets very busy. We went to a fabulous bakery which served great coffee and food. A must do in Helsinki.
The meeting point was easy to find. Caesar our guide booked the public bus tickets and it took about an hour to travel to Porvoo. We took a walk around the old town which was very beautiful. We had some free time to look around and then headed back to the bus station. The walk was only minutes to catch the bus. The tour was very good and Porvoo is a beautiful quaint place. A little more time to look around would have been nice.
Our tour guide Cesar was excellent! The pickup was very smooth, and the tour was very informative.
Beautiful and historic town! Daniela was a very knowledgeable and wonderful guide! Highly recommended.
I was a bit skeptical when I saw we were taking public transportation, but once we got started, Harry made us very comfortable and we got underway. Porvoo has to be once of my favorite tours/destinations!! It was a beautiful medieval city with interesting architecture, beautiful views and cute little shops. I wish I had more time to explore. A must, though is the local chocolate shop where you can purchase yummy chocolate bars and truffles!
Excellent communication before the trip, regarding pick up etc. Our guide Paulo even rang us the day before. Paulo gave us detailed information about Finland- history, culture, beliefs, economic etc. He shared his story too. Porvoo is a lovely town to visit. Bus driver was a good driver. An excellent day.
Great tour of Porvoo! Tour guide Daniela was very informative and engaging. The weather was perfect for all of the outdoor walking we did.
Very short trip to beautiful city! Food and surroundings were amazing. It is a most relaxing place to visit.
Daniela was fabulous very informative good steady pace but never rushed. She even took a couple of pictures of myself and wife when requested.
A big thanks to Daniela for a great day. Daniela provided many interesting facts and kept us entertained despite many shop closures for midsummer and Cathedral closure for confirmations.
All six of us really enjoyed the tour- Letitia was excellent so very happy all round
Good and easy way to experience porvoo!
Francisco was great, very knowledgeable and engaged. They picked me up at my hotel and dropped me back as well. Great half day trip.
Great guide! Very personable! Highly recommended!
Its a long day, however the day is broken into small sections. Lola was a great guide and was very knowledgeable
Had a wonderful day with Harry our guide! Love seeing this old old town and Harry gave us wonderful suggestions during our spare time! Highly recommend.
Daniela who was my guide was very knowledgeable and patient enough to answer all my doubts about Finland. The tour company was very kind enough to update me right from start to the end. Highly recommended
Daniela was wonderful! The tour itself was great for those wanting to see Porvoo with limited time. She took care of the arrangements, was very considerate and knowledgeable. I would love to do this tour again!

Small group on an informative but relaxing tour in Porvoo. She also pointed us to many shops and restaurants to explore during our free time. Delightful day.
We enjoyed the guide’s sharing of history and current Porvoo.
We were met at the Kampii Transit Terminal exactly at 9:30 am by a young man dressed in a long black leather trench coat, with wide leg jeans dragging on the ground and long black wet hair under a baseball cap, who introduced himself as Henry. We thought we were going on a 15 seat Viator private Passenger Bus - instead we were directed to the Public Bus entrance by Henry to go for a 40 minute public bus ride to Provoo. Our friends who had this same experience 2 days prior (we paid the same amount of money!) were picked up at their hotel by a guide, Darioush, who transported them personally in a car/van to the town of Provoo. During the ride their guide, Darioush talked of the history of the area and spent an hour talking about Provo once they arrived and was very entertaining per our friends. Our guide, Henry, meanwhile got on the public bus and sat several rows back from the three of us and chatted with his 'trainee' the entire time. Once in Porvoo, Henry did spend an hour talking with us about the history and guided us through the Castle Hill Park area, then showed us where we would meet in an hour. We met up at the appointed time, he did offer to stay longer but the Monday we were there more than half the shops were closed as well as the Church, so without much to do in old town we where guided back toward the public bus pickup point. Henry directed us onto a public bus to go back to Helsinki, this time he chose a local public bus which made Multiple Stops! Very frustrating experience taking 1.5 hours (vs. the 40 minute ride earlier) to get back to Helsinki on a public bus to the bus terminal - which is a 30 minute walk from our hotel! Especially knowing that our friends -just two days before- on the same excursion had been driven by car directly back from Provoo to their hotel. We could have saved a $100 per person and taken the public bus ourselves and avoided the lengthy, frustrating public bus return trip. Wishing we could have had Darioush as our guide! Hope the new trainee is able to spend time with Darioush!
A public bus that cost 24 euro round trip as of the trip at 108 euro doesn’t make sense. A walk in a park and a couple of streets. The guide did point out the shops we requested. No ability for any narration along the way. Going we rode the express bus and coming back we stopped at least 20 times. Very subpar. The town is very nice but not worth the time ir money
