This was such an utterly unique and memorable experience, and we were so grateful for the opportunity to get up close and interact with the reindeer. It was easily one of the highlights of our time in Helsinki. Our guide, George, was an absolute delight — warm, funny, knowledgeable, and wonderful company from start to finish. Somewhere along the way, we also learned that The Carpenters have completely stolen his heart, which somehow made the day even more charming. By the end of the tour, we were pretty happy to have spent the day close to him, too. We highly recommend this tour, and if you have the chance to get George as your guide, absolutely do it!

Private Pickup from Helsinki Your journey begins with a seamless transfer in a luxury air-conditioned vehicle from your preferred location in Helsinki, including the airport or cruise port. An official guide meets you directly at your address, ensuring a smooth and personalized start to the excursion. As you leave the city, the guide provides initial insights into the Finnish way of life and the scenic route ahead. The experience transitions into the serene landscapes of Nuuksio National Park, located in the Espoo region. This pristine wilderness offers a stark contrast to the urban environment, characterized by ancient forests and tranquil lakeside vistas. Your private transportation allows for exclusive access to the most picturesque spots within the park's protected boundaries.
Reindeer Encounter and Moss Feeding At the reindeer farm, you gain intimate access to these iconic Arctic animals in a quiet, private setting. You have the rare opportunity to pet and feed the reindeer their favorite treat, lichen (reindeer moss), while learning about their biology and cultural significance. This interaction is designed for nature lovers seeking a genuine connection with Finnish wildlife.
Fireside Picnic in a Traditional Finnish Kota The adventure concludes with a rustic snack served by an open fire inside a traditional wooden hut, known as a kota. You can enjoy the warmth of the flames while sampling local snacks and bottled water in an atmospheric, sheltered environment. This authentic ritual provides a moment of reflection and relaxation before the return journey.
Forest Exploration and Nature Study Guided by your expert, you embark on a walk through the dense taiga forest to observe the local ecosystem firsthand. The tour focuses on the unique flora and fauna of Southern Finland, highlighting the biodiversity that defines the national park. The itinerary is customizable, allowing the pace to be tailored to your interests in botany or photography.
Return Transfer to Helsinki After three hours of immersion in nature, your private driver facilitates a comfortable transfer back to your original departure point. Amazing experience all around. Andrew showed up on time and was a delight throughout the drive, generously sharing his knowledge and love of Finland; the reindeer park was fantastic - such a privilege to have time to interact quietly with these beautiful creatures without a crowd / having to stand in line. Thank you for such a great experience!!!
Great experience although the reindeer farm is too crowded (no timed entry; not The Guidefather fault however). Did really like the trip with Andrew who was pretty eager to share about Finn's life and culture. A great opportunity to see Finland's lakes and nature near the city!
My excursion was amazing. Andrew was an excellent tour guide who went the extra mile to ensure I had the best experience. Very knowledgeable about history and other facts about Finland and takes excellent photos. Great conversations. Loved the reindeer and forest walk at Nuuksio
We booked this tour specifically for the buggy forest adventure, which was clearly advertised as an hour-long buggy ride through the forest, followed by the reindeer experience. This was the main reason we chose this tour and the part my daughter and I were most excited for. The night before, I received an email saying the transportation was being “upgraded” from a buggy to VIP transport. However, VIP transport is already included in the tour description. When I asked directly whether the buggy experience itself was still going ahead, I was reassured that “only the transportation to the reindeer park is changing” and that everything else remained the same. This wording made it sound as though the buggy forest adventure was still included, and that only the method of getting to the park had changed — not the experience itself. But the next day, we discovered that the buggy adventure had been removed entirely, and what we received was only a short reindeer-park visit. The reindeer park alone costs significantly less when booked directly, yet we were charged the full premium price of a combined buggy + reindeer experience + transportation. In effect, we paid for a premium, multi-part adventure and received only the lowest-value portion of it. I reached out multiple times for clarification and a partial refund for the service not provided, and received no response at all. The reindeer park itself was lovely, but the overall experience through the guide father did not match what was advertised or what was confirmed to me in writing, and the zero communication after the tour was very disappointing. Travellers should be aware that the experience delivered may not reflect what is promoted or assured especially when you’re paying up to 500 Euro.
Had a really memorable day, we were collected right on time, and taken to the park in a lovely spacious vehicle. Visiting the national park, walking and our guide was lovely explaining all the various things about the Finnish language and culture and connection to the forest. Later we visited a lake and onto the Reindeers. After a local coffee and cinnamon bun, and feeding the reindeer, we concluded our trip. Thank you so much for a memorable day, we very much enjoyed it.
Lovely Reindeer Experience Near Helsinki! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Such a unique and relaxing experience just outside Helsinki! The reindeer were calm and well cared for, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed a peaceful sleigh ride and learned a lot about Finnish traditions. A great way to get a taste of Lapland without traveling far. Highly recommended for families or anyone looking for a wintery escape close to the
Bazar, our guide drove us to the Reindeer Park. It was about 50 minutes from downtown Helsinki and that gave us an insight to the Finnish countryside. It was a beautiful ride and the Reindeer feeding was an experience I won’t forget.
It was indeed a truly great experience, hassle free pick up and in a extremely comfortable vehicle. Our guides were also extremely knowledgeable and friendly and providing us with a great experience overall. Highly recommend
From our private pickup/transfer and meeting Russ/Ross to being introduced to the small reindeer herd, the farm hand allowed us to feed lichen to the herd, and then morning tea in the “teepee” making a small dough on stick morning refreshment - finished with a herbal tea. The drive back to Helsinki, and banter with our driver was also enjoyable
Our driver was very informative and friendly. He gave us great information regarding Finland. Once we got to the park we had a wonderful time feeding the reindeer. The lady at the place was very nice and gave us information on Reindeer.
Worth every penny, up close with beautiful Reindeer. Sitting round fire baking bread to eat. Lovely.
It was a great experience, Andrew and Ella were wonderful. Andrew was a great driver, he talked about Finland. Ella was a great host, she explains everything about reindeer.
Meeting the Riendeer was fab great experience from start to finish. Guide was informative funny and very welcoming.
Went to reindeer national park tour back in November. Awesome and enjoyable tour, also helpful and caring guide on spot, even tho I was kind of scared to feed and pet reindeers got some cool pictures. Was interesting to talk about general life in finland with guide. Supplier had water and snacks in car, so overall everything was perfect and professional.
This was a true adventure. My driver and tour guide was Alex. He was wonderful. Very informative. He knew a lot about reindeer and shared his knowledge freely. He showed me how to feed and interact with the animals. There was a small hut with a campfire where I was given some hot tea to warm up and also to bake some sweet bread over the open fire. I met people from Germany and also Italy. On the way home Alex shared Finnish culture and spoke about the wonderful balanced life that Finnish people enjoy. He also recommended places to eat as well as places to visit while here in helsinki. I recommend this trip highly and would ask for Alex to be your driver and guide. He is amazing.
Very unique experience, but way too overpriced for this experience!! We did feed reindeer and had a unique snack with campfire but the price of the trip was way too high.
Local guides were very professional and actually passionate about the tour, it wasn’t just constant and monotone background noise, but actually interesting to listen to. We also got “lucky” for pleasant weather which gave us opportunity to fully experience Finnish winter nature. Special thanks to our driver Alex for taking good care of us for the whole tour.
Our guide was amazing, really made the trip worth it. He talked us through the park, reindeer and finish life in general. Tried to give him a cash tip and he refused as he just wanted a good review. Don't hesitate to book
That was an amazing trip to the Reindeer park with professional guides. We learned many interesting fun-facts about those cute animals and spent a great time over the natural forest. My recommendation for all people who want to spend a great weekend with the company Scandinavian Experts.
Impeccable service! Clean and comfortable car picked us up right from the hotel door. VIP entrance to the park, no queues. The park is simply amazing, we have never seen deer so close and feeding them was so much fun. I definitely recommend visiting!
Great guide, highly informative, tour highlighted the beautiful natural surrounds of Helsinki ,reindeer part was fascinating and great interaction We highly recommend this tour
The Trip was very nice, we had a great driver, great car, it was awesome. The only thing that was nagging me is the price and the advertisement. In the description it stated that everything is included, but in the first message they tell you that the park is actually not included. We paid 450 for the drive and another 150 for the park. I feel like it is alright, since a normal Taxi would also cost 150 for one direction, but would not wait for you in the park and also you would not have such a great driver. But in combination with the advertisement it just rubs me the wrong way. Overall it was great.
Would like to give 5 stars but there were a couple of significant communication challenges. First national parks are free, yet the ad says we pay 25 euros each for park entry on top of $200 ea. The person I asked about this said it was for the reindeer food and snacks for visitors. It's already $400 US for 2 people, so that seems like false advertising. Guide Andrew was terrific, and gave us a car tour with a few great stops all along the way back to the ship. The reindeer are so cool and it's great feeding them. other challenge was setup time for noon, confirmed, then next day I got a message saying they'd see us at 1pm. The ship was only in dock for 6 hours, so we really wanted to start at noon. I messaged and was accommodated with Andrew arriving at 12:20 rather than 1pm, so that was helpful. Kids will like this tour too.
Our guide Andrew picked us up right on time and was extremely knowledgeable. It was an amazing experience! We learned a lot and had so much fun feeding the reindeer!
To be honest we had a nice time. Not really wow but pleasant time. The driver sadly only the person in front seat could hear. Andrew was really very nice but as I said information couldn’t be heard. The reindeer farm was very nice except the toilet which frankly is a risk to health, truly rustic and horrible. Cannot recommend the trip as it was so expensive for basically a taxi ride to a park we had to pay for when we got there
Emma was wonderful and Alex our driver was excellent. They both were kind and friendly and made our experience enjoyable. Feeding the reindeer was the highlight.
This tour was really worth it, up close and feeding the reindeer in a private tour. The cinnamon bun were freshly made for us that we had around a fire. Would highly recommend.
Absolutely brilliant. Very personal, got to feed all the reindeer, then enjoyed tea and cinnamon buns made especially for us. It made my trip to Helsinki completely perfect. So nice to not have to share the experience with a large group. Our guide was fantastic and explained heaps, answered all my questions I had about Finnish culture, Flora and Fauna. Just remember the cost does not include entry to the reindeer park. But you just pay the entry there.
Extremely disappointing. I was expecting a large park or a farm. The place is small and the reindeer enclosure looks like one in a zoo. And what's more, a crazy crowd in this cramped place, so you have to wait in line to see the few reindeer!! Fortunately, the pleasant surprise of the visit was the guide who took me for a walk in the surrounding forest to discover magnificent viewpoints.
This was not an adventure, but a visit to the reindeer petting zoo
A very nice experience to be so close to the reindeer and feed them with subsequent small meals. Our tour guide (Alexej) was able to tell very interesting stories about the city on the way out.
Very nice trip to the reindeer park. We were picked up at the hotel on time and our guide Alex was very accommodating, helpful and told us lots of information about Finland, culture and way of life in Finland. Very informative and interesting. Big praise to Alex. We felt very comfortable with him. A great guide. The experience with the reindeer was also very impressive. The staff very nice, we were allowed to feed the reindeer and afterwards there was tea in the "tipi" and we were allowed to bake sweet bread over the open fire. Afterwards we walked to a lookout point. Beautiful! All in all, a very successful trip, which I can recommend with a clear conscience.
The Valo Hotel was sensational! The wellness area on the roof was simply unique! Helsinki was also very beautiful. A very clean city.
Supertolles Erlebnis vor Weihnachten! Der Guide war toll und man konnte die Tiere hautnah erleben! Definitiv eine Empfehlung!
Very nice and very warmly received by the caregivers. They had plenty of time to answer questions and told very enthusiastically themselves.
An experience that should be done in Helsinki, and more with the company that performed the Service. The punctual appointment in the hotel lobby, a very friendly Finnish boy nice, who took us to the forest, on the way talking about life in Finland and in the capital, offered us water, and the car very eaten. Arriving they were already waiting for us and the two guides inside the park took us to see the reindeer, while we must feed them they explained the life and importance that these animals have for the life of a Finn. After the coexistence with the reindeer we were invited a snack in a traditional Sami shop with sausages prepared on fire with firewood and delicious coffee. Just as good talk with them and with the driver Always willing that we were well taken care of. After an hour we said goodbye to the reindeer and returned to the hotel. It was an unforgettable experience!!!!
