This was a great way to explore and learn about Estonia! Svetlana, our guide, gave us an enjoyable walking tour and history lesson on this wonderful country. The ferry ride was really nice and had a lot more than we were expecting. Everyone involved with getting us to and from our destinations, as well as our lovely tour mates, we're great!

Itinerary
Board the ferry to Tallinn
Cruise across the Gulf of Finland to Estonia from Helsinki in a 2 hour 15 mins ferry
Get mesmerized a 3 hour walking tour in the old town of Tallinn, a UNESCO world Heritage site. The cobbled streets, narrow alleys, traditional restaurants, innumerable churches and conical red roofs makes the memorable trip with a highly experienced tour guide.
Visit the Old Town Tallinn Viru Gates. The main historical gate of the city is one of the places that help to get a complete picture of the Tallinn Old City. The main entrance into Old Town is marked by these beautiful twin gate towers.
The three-storey tower dates to the 14th century and at different times was used as a prison and a weapons store. It also houses an art gallery.
St. Catherine’s Passage is a picturesque and unique walkway winds its way from Vene Street past the southern end of the Dominican monastery to Müürivahe Street. St Catherine's church, from which the alley took its name, is thought to have been built here more than 700 years ago. a few handicraft workshops can be found here, in which you can watch the artists at work – creating ceramics, hats, glass and more
Visit the Dominican Monastery a former monastery and one of the oldest buildings in Tallinn
The Gothic St. Olaf’s Church was the tallest building in the World. The tower's viewing platform offers tourists one of the best views of Tallinn
Toompea is a limestone hill in the central part of the city and towers over the rest of the city. Toompea Castle has always been the seat of power in Estonia. The Parliament of Estonia (Riigikogu) is based in the castle and is the world’s only expressionist parliament building with its expressionist style interiors.
Cherish the extraordinary architecture of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the largest and grandest orthodox cupola cathedral in Tallinn's. It's areal view looks like the crown of the Toompea hill. The short climb up the Toompea hill is worth it.
Kohtuotsa offers sweeping panoramas of Old Town's rooftops and towers against the backdrop of the modern city skyline. On the east corner of Toompea hill, it offers unforgettable views of the medieval neighbourhood on Tallinn.
Post your walking tour, you get 3 hours free time in Tallinn. Explore the souvenir shop, have lunch and take pictures before boarding the return cruise to Helsinki.

Great walking tour. Highly recommend it
All transfers went well from pick-up to drop-off. Great tour guide Svetlana in Tallinn. Biggest ferry I've ever seen or been on!
This tour was seamless from start to finish! I enjoyed the pickup from hotel, and appreciated the small group experience. There were only four in my group, and we were brought directly to the ferry terminal and back and brought around our excellent local guide Renat. He brought a personal touch to the tour that was fascinating and engaging! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience for a day trip to Tallinn from Helsinki :)
It was a well organised return day trip to Tallinn from Helsinki. Very good guide in Tallinn. Great group of people on the day trip so that increased the enjoyment for me
Great! A very knowledgeable guide with perfect English. Just wear comfortable shoes cause it’s a lot of up & down; the surfaces keep changing..,from cobble stones to pavement to on & off curbs. Must take one’s time & be ever vigilant.
This trip is very well organised. we got picked up from our hotel in a beautiful car, then we were dropped at the ferry terminal. the Ferry itself is like being on a cruise ship. Very smooth sailing and lots of restaurants onboard. When we arrived in Tallinn, our guide was there to pick us up. he drove us to places that we would never have seen if we had just booked the ferry ourselves and walked into the town centre. You get 2 hours free time to explore the centre and get something to eat. we were dropped back at the ferry terminal, boarded the ferry, had another smooth crossing and we were picked up at the other end to be dropped off at our hotel. 100% recommend this tour.
Everything went smooth. Well organised.
The guide was fantastic , he was knowledgeable on the history and was easy to understand , This is a must see tour , including a cruise boat over to Tallinn and back
Place i.e. Tallinn itself was fantastic, and the itinerary was excellent so worth going on this trip. It was well organized and the ride to the ship was time saver. Guide in Talinn was more focused on a selective few and spent more time talking about himself. Explore old town on your own and it is beautiful.
Although I have taken 100’s of tours, I don’t normally write reviews, but this company JeeTravels was EXCEPTIONAL in every aspect. EVERY detail was perfect and well organised. Pick up and return to hotel was smooth and on time. Met in Tallin by courteous guide who drove us to and from port and gave us a guided walking tour. It’s a long day, starting roughly at 9am and return to your hotel around 10pm. It can be daunting travelling from one unfamiliar country to another unfamiliar country, but this company makes everything so smooth and enjoyable and you don’t need to worry about a thing. Tallin is a MUST SEE city. One of the highlights (for me) was the Tallin tour guide, Rauno (spelling?). Very knowledgeable, personable, multilingual, native of Estonia. He wasn’t over-rehearsed and monotonous like most tour guides. He talked of his childhood in Tallin, his family, his education and the very interesting history of Tallin. He made the tour fresh and interesting. The balance of guided tour and free time was perfect. I HIGHLY recommend this tour, especially if you are lucky enough to get Rauno as your tour guide.
This was an excellent tour and we had an incredible day traveling from Helsinki to Tallin. The old town is an amazing place to visit. We had a fantastic tour guide who took us from the upper town to the lower town and provided a lot of interesting facts about all of the places we visited. We also had about three hours of exploration time on our own, which was great. The whole process was very seamless from pick up at our hotel, ferry drop off and return to the hotel in the evening. Couldn’t have asked for a smoother experience. Overall, just a wonderful tour with a fantastic tour guide.
Well organized. All pick ups were flawless. Ferry was an amazing ship. Guide was knowledgeable and pace the walking tour well for our age group
The tour was as expected. Very easy to get the ferry tickets and it was an enjoyable trip. Our guide was very knowledgable, even suggesting a restaurant for lunch which was very good. Well worth the trip if you have an extra day in Helsinki.
I was surprised at how big the ferry is, it is like a cruise ship. Food quality on board was very good. Credit cards won’t be accepted from 1 October on board was, which I was told when I bought my lunch. The walking tour of Old Town was excellent, our guide Julia was very knowledgeable and funny.
This experience was awesome. The trip juggled so many logistics seamlessly. Pickup and drop off from our hotel was convenient and professional. Our guide Renat was incredible. So informative and funny. A deep knowledge of his country and passion for people. 11/10
The pickup, boat trip, waking tour and drop off all worked flawlessly. Our guide, Eugenia, was very knowledgeable on the history of Tallinn and Estonia. She did an history overview on our way to Tallinn and then explained details during our walk. We had free time for lunch and shopping.
This was an incredible trip! It was well-organized and checked all the boxes! Every detail was taken care of...all I had to do was enjoy beautiful Tallin Estonia! I was picked up at my hotel, delivered to the correct port in Helsinki, and our guide made sure everyone in the group was properly checked in on the correct ferry, then we were also picked up on the other side, and driven up to Old Town, where we had a fantastic walking tour with a very knowledgeable guide. The rest of the time was free for us to roam and enjoy. At the end of the day, we met the van to be driven back to the ferry, and back in Finland, our original driver met us and delivered us back to our respective hotels. It was a completely stress-free and wonderful day!
The hotel pick up and drop off set the tone for a great tour. The ride on the ship (it’s a spectacular ship, not just a ferry) to and from Tallinn is relaxing. Tallinn is a charming city and our guide gave great historical reference.
The tour does not give you time for lunch. You are expected to have lunch before the tour starts. Otherwise you won't have time to eat until after 3:30pm.
Very well organised tour. Professional and very informative. Coach was very comfortable. Driver very pleasant
The tour logistics are very well organized starting with pick up, getting boarding pass for the ferry, transportation to Old Town Tallin and, finally, transportation back to hotel. Our guide, who met us at the port, did his best to get us to the major points of interest walking in pouring rain. However, his less than fluent English made actually learning about Tallinn’s history and Estonian culture pretty hit and miss. The tour provides ample time to enjoy Old Town and choose from a variety of restaurants for a late lunch. Try to plan your visit when it is not raining, but do take this tour.
Very good tour overall. Guide in Tallinn was funny and knowledgeable. Pickup process in Helsinki was a little disjointed and ran late. But the ferry ride was great, and the drop off back at our Helsinki hotel was flawless.
Tallinn is a delightful and fascinating place to visit - well worth making the day trip from Helsinki and perhaps even staying longer as a one-day trip was a little much to cover all that Tallinn has to offer. Strongly suggest that you upgrade to the lounge on the ferry ride as it provides nice relaxing accommodation and excellent drinks and snacks.
Perfectly planned trip. Everything on time. Tour guide Irina is Fantastic. Love every moment of our tour
The city is beautiful and the guide Anastasia was great. She gave us lots of information about all the places that we visited.
Cruise portion was wonderful, walking tour was too long with too much detail. Difficult to u destined our tour guide as she was very soft spoken.
Everything about this day was well planned and seamless. Pickup was right on time, the driver helped us pick up ferry tickets, guide in Tallinn picked met us at the ferry station and provided an excellent tour of the city.
This was a great way to see Talinn during a trip to Helsinki. My morning hotel pickup was perfectly on time and we proceeded to the ferry pickup after one more hotel stop. Our driver escorted us to the terminal to ensure we had no issues with our tickets, which was appreciated. The ferry was an experience in itself. It was not crowded at all, so we could explore all the areas and there was ample seating. Upon arrival in Talinn, our guide was waiting with a sign and we set out for our tour of the Old Town. This included a brief drive, to a convenient drop off point. We walked through the Upper and Lower portions of Old Town, and I learned a lot. After the tour was done, we had about 3 hours to wander around, grab food and do some shopping if we wanted to. The meet up spot was easy to find and the van to take us back to the ferry was prompt. The ferry ride home and pick up for hotel transfer was easy. It’s a very long day, but was a great experience. There were a lot of moving pieces for this tour, but it was very well managed.
Everything ran very smoothly and the tour I. Tallinn was amazing. Irene was a knowledgeable and informative guide it was a great day. I highly recommend.
Everything on time and efficient from booking to hotel pick up and drop off. Our Tallinn guide Irene was wonderful. Our driver to and from ferry helped with boarding tickets too! We are happy we did this as our Scandinavia tour did not include Tallinn, which is a must when you are so close.
We had a great day on this trip as all the stress was taken out of our hands due to the organisation done by the travel company. We were informed the day before about our ferry time/pick-up etc. and they arrived promptly to pick us up from our hotel. The driver dropped us at the ferry terminal with instructions on how to ‘check-in’. The ferry was great - we immediately found comfortable seating and enjoyed the crossing. Our guide from Tallinn was waiting for us as we walked off the ferry and she then took us to a waiting car to be driven to the first point of our walking tour. She was lovely, with excellent spoken English and was with us for a few hours giving us a guided tour. We then had a couple of hours on our own to wander through the streets and have lunch before meeting our driver who took us back to the ferry terminal. As we arrived back in Helsinki, a driver was waiting for us as we disembarked to return us to our hotel. Obviously if we had booked it all independently and used taxis, it would have been more cost effective, however it would definitely have been more stressful and possibly not so enjoyable.
Everything about this tour experience was amazing. From when we were collected from our hotel to when we were dropped off at the conclusion, the entire experience was seamless and extremely well organised. Our tour guide Irene who met us in Tallinn and led us on this incredible tour was beyond fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable and the route we followed was an informative overview of this beautiful historic town. We can’t recommend this tour enough.
Amazing experience! Everything was perfectly timed, pick up & transport all went very smoothly. Our tour guide was very insightful, and the city is beautiful with a very interesting and unique history.
Excellent all around. Had a great day. Guide was v good& helpful. Well prepared. Transport to & from the ferry was perfect. Very helpful& prompt. Would highly recommend.
Pick-up and drop-off in Helsinki were very smooth, on-time, and well organized. Our main disappointment, however, was that our guided tour in Tallinn was not conducted by a native Estonian, rather someone who had immigrated to Estonia some time ago. We felt that having an Estonian guide share their firsthand knowledge, history, and experience of their home country, culture, customs, and commentary would have added an important layer of authenticity and credibility to the experience, that was otherwise missing.
The ferry was very smooth. I enjoyed all of the information about Estonia and Tallinn's Old Town. Knowledgeable tour guid3, Eugenia.
The ship/ferry is very nice. Lots of comfortable seating. There is a children’s play area. There are many food options available also. It really is a cruise ship experience.
My wife and I had a great experience. Everything was very well organized, transportation was on time, clean car. The walking tour was great. A lot of information!! I already recommended this tour to friends that were in Helsinki with me.
The logistics of the trip certainly ran smoothly, but our guide in Tallinn appeared , and to have learnt her script and was determined to say it all to us, without much humour. But we did enjoy a memorable meal at Vàika in lower Old Town, including an Estonian speciality of elk!
Incredible experience and I’d highly recommend building into your travel agenda. Tallinn was like taking a time travel back through the medieval times. So much good history and context. Our driver so sharp and friendly, made getting around turn very easy. Incredible tour guide! She knew the town so well and gave so much amazing context and recommendations. Love the shops. Bring some spending € 😎
Pick up for ferry, walking tour guide and drop off was first rate! Estonia is beautiful and worth seeing.
Absolutely flawless from beginning to end. Pick up from the hotel was on time and the driver came into the port and showed us how to get our boarding cards. Then we were met as soon as we exited the ship in Tallin and our tour guide was so friendly, interesting and knowledgeable. We didn't feel rushed at any stage. Pick up to return to Tallin port was again on time and we were met back in Helsinki and taken to our hotel. Our tour group was small (7 including ourselves) and we all got on really well. Felt like a family outing! Would definitely book through Viator again.
A well organised and enjoyable trip to Tallinn that delivered exactly what was advertised. An informative and friendly guide and with all transport connections running smoothly and to time.
My and my family has a lovely day exploring Tallin with our knowledgeable guide thoroughly enjoyable
Well organised. Changed ferry time, so not so rushed a start. Pick-up on time. Guide in Tallin, Irene was excellent. She walked us past all the best locations, view spots via an easy route.
Good way to explore Old Town Tallinn,Estonia,Our guide Anastasia was so patient and nice, the food we had for lunch was delicious.
We had a seamless pickup by a wonderful gentleman, a wonderful cruise ride on the MyStar, but everything went downhill after we met the tour guide in Tallinn. She hurriedly showed us two places in the new town IN THE CAR! That too a tiny car for 4 adults + the guide. We had all of 15 minutes to tour the massive Tsar's palace grounds on foot, entirely by ourselves with Google Gemini offering more details about the history, architecture, evolution and maintenance of this lovely place. She then drove us around some new constructions in new Tallin, pointing things out from the car, with us having to request pictures and hurriedly step out of the car for 1-2 minutes to grab a few photos because she was just hesitant to give us any time anywhere but the viewpoint over Old Tallinn and the Tsar's Palace. We had barely an hour with her in Old Town, and she basically took us to the main viewpoint where we got to spend another 10-15 minutes, the Alexander Nevsky cathedral, Viru Gate, Fat Margaret Tower, Old Hansky, the square, gave us a few restaurant recommendations, and left us just shy of the 3 hours we were supposed to have with her. I then grabbed lunch at a place NOT recommended by her, and crafted an itinerary for chocolates, marzipan, souvenirs, and walking along the St. Catherine's passage, and had a much better time on that itinerary. What is baffling is the USD 168 price tag for a tour where the best part - the cruise - was USD 35, and the best part of the trips were self-taught and self-toured.
This was really not worth the experience. The tour guide showed us some spots on the car. Would have preferred being shown around properly, especially the old town. I booked the tour so I wouldnt have to do my homework.
It was awesome to have the opportunity to visit Tallinn! All the arrangements went very smoothly. Highly recommended.
