Our tour of Helsinki and Soumenlina with Paula was one of the best tours we have ever taken. Paula was knowledgeable, sharing with us all sorts of interesting information about beautiful Helsinki. But she didn’t feel a need to talk nonstop like some guides. She answered all of our questions even when they got asked more than once. She was very friendly and genuinely wanted us to like Helsinki like she does. We would take any tour she might lead!!

Our Guide Rachael was great. We had a small group but her care, knowledge of the city and her positivity throughout the tour was refreshing. We had a little rain - so out came some Ponchos etc. My wife and I were glad we took this tour as our stay in Helsinki was brief so it was wonderful to get a "feel" for the city. I would recommend the tour. It was a little like speed dating for us as we flew out that afternoon but our time with this tour and our guide, ,Rachael was a pleasure.
Very enjoyable walking trip. The guides were very informative.
Possibly the most civilised place I have ever been to. Very clean, no graffiti, no louts, brilliant transport system, best airport I,ve ever been to, friendly people, interesting food. Interestingly the prices were not as bad as I thought they would be. Maybe 10 to 15% more than the UK.
Wonderful tour with a great driver and the tour guide, Nana. She was fabulous, and since we couldn’t go into the church since it was a Sunday, we went to the library and it was a definite favorite that I highly recommend!!
Lukas was an excellent guide. He provided great historical information. He also gave us tips about other things to see and do as well as restaurants and shopping. Great excursion!
Good overview of city highlights. Rachel was very informative and answered questions about history of country and city.
Guide Lucas was fantastic. Enthusiastic and most personal.
Nice half day tour of attractions in Helsinki. Pick up was convenient at the hotel. Guide Lukas was very friendly, and provided a lot of information on the history of Finland.
Very informative even if you are not interested in history. So very good from beginning to end. Rachael the guide was very competent and knowledgeable
Nice overview of the city. Would like to learn more about the people's lives both now and in the past . Enjoyed trip to Suomenlinna but would have liked to hear more about WWII.
We enjoyed the tour with Harry. He was very personable and informative. He was passionate about his appreciation of life in Finland and we enjoyed conversing with him throughout the tour. We enjoyed the stops on the tour, especially the walk around Suomenlinna, and Harry provided a lot of interesting information about the history and culture of Finland. He also gave us information about other places we were interested in seeing in Helsinki. We appreciated the hotel pickup!
Our guided tour of Helsinki and Suomenlinna was fantastic! Our guide Lily is very knowledgeable about Helsinki and Finland history, making this a very informative and interesting tour. My husband and I were the only guests on the tour so it was a personable experience and gave us an opportunity to ask many questions and learn even more. This is a good way to get a good feel for the city once you arrive. I highly recommend!
I booked our tour a month before and received email confirmation right away. I received another confirmation thru WhatsApp 2 days before the tour. So, it’s highly recommended to upload WhatsApp on your phone as this is their preferred way to communicate. There are about 20 of us in our group. Edward, our guide is very knowledgeable about Helsinki’s history, spoke perfect English and has a great sense of humor. He made everything interesting. We enjoyed this tour very much!
Our tour guides Ed Sheeran (lol) and Daniella were very experienced and knowledgeable. The tour was fantastic
Very information and entertaining.
The tour around the city was fine - it hit the main landmarks. The ferry ride was short. My complaint about this tour was that the walking tour of Suomenlinna was literally three stops, where we stood at each one for about 20 minutes. We did not get much of a 'tour'. The local guide knew a lot of history, but we really didn't see much of the island. Go on your own and wander around.
Good tour. Lovely time at markets, sculpture garden, & ride boat to fortress. Harry was informative & delightful. Was disappointed not to see Olympic Park as stated in Viator and would have liked some time around castle towers to explore.
I was very disappointed with this Helsinki sightseeing tour. The tour felt poorly organized, and the guide was not engaging or informative. There were long periods with little explanation, and some of the attractions were rushed while others took too much time. The overall experience did not meet my expectations, especially considering the price. I expected a more enjoyable and professional introduction to Helsinki. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this tour.
We decided to spend two nights in Helsinki after our trip through the Baltics. It sounded like a great idea to take this tour as an introduction to country culture and history. Terrible! We were up to twenty something People. Very packed running contest from one spot to another. I Will not recommend!
Our group was too big. So it took away from the tour guides ability to inform everyone about the stops/ locations. I believe there were 22 of us, but at least 20.
Great experience! You get a rich experience and history lesson of Finland or Suomi as the locals say
Ed our guide was brilliant. He took us to places we would not have even thought of including the Oodie library which was such an eye opener and what all libraries should be. Helsinki is a lovely city with friendly and obliging people. Our tour included the sea fortress of Suomenlinna with a long history and well worth a visit.
Overall a well rounded and informative tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and communicative. Her english was excellent and went above her duty as a guide.
This was a great tour although a little rushed, mostly due to crowd numbers in the city and surroundings. Our guide was really informative and very mindfull of keeping us from getting separated. Some areas of this tour would be difficult for anyone with mobility problems. Sadly we missed entering the museum on Suomenlinna but time did not permit. Overall it was a good tour.
A nice comprehensive tour hitting the highlights of the old town and kept with the ferry ride to the Fortress Island. Excellent guide, no-frills.
Great way to get a taste of the city and its history! Paula was a kind, considerate and knowledgeable guide! Highly recommended.
The bus content was very similar to our previous days “hop on hop off tour” , so that was a little bit disappointing Our guide was probably the weak link, but we really enjoyed the island part of the package We Would certainly recommend this tour to others, but with luck you’ll get a more inspiring guide
Too long and hot for walking in Soumenlinna the ferry wasn’t new and comfortable not so informative tour the guide was a little more expressed not bad guy but a little strange for me
We had an awesome tour with Peter. We went around the city in a very nice, spacious bus, best tour bus we’ve have ridden so far. Peter was very knowledgeable, friendly, very patient, considerate and gave us ample time to take pictures and we were never rushed. We were picked up from the hotel and at the end of the tour, we finished off at market square which is about 8min walk from the hotel.
Wonderful tour, lots of walking so need good shoes!! Sonna our guide was wonderful and so full of history and information, with a sense of humor also she made our day!!
Sanna is our guide tour. She gave us a lot of information and history. We have enjoyed with local food that she recommended
Had a good introduction to some of the highlights of Helsinki including a ferry ride to the fortress. Included a lot of walking, but it was a beautiful day. Tour guide was very good.
Good introduction to key Helsinki sites and excellent guided tour of Suomenlinna Island Fortress. Bus ride portion was good but, as it was Sunday, guide should have scheduled Uspenski Orthodox Cathedral visit to not conflict with service period---entry prohibited. Also could announce when and where bathrooms could be accessed. The Suomenlinna portion was led by a knowledgeable man, Ed, who really knew all of the important history and was an accomplished speaker.
Very good introduction to Helsinki key sites and a detailed guided tour of Suomenlinna Island. Length of tour was just right although the Helsinki portion was unable to enter the Uspenski Cathedral due to services. Also guide could have noted bathroom locations prior to ferry ride. We were fortunate to have a smaller group and beautiful weather. The island guide, Ed, was very knowledgeable about the area (he actually pointed out working pickpockets on the island area.)
We had a very good guide, Harry. He was very informative about all the sights and when we said we had been somewhere before hesuggested going to see something else. It was an interesting trip to Suomenlinna and the local guide was also very good.
Great guide, great knowledge sharing, beautiful day and experience all together
A very pleasant, well-organized tour with a nice balance of stops, walking and time for ourselves. Good knowledge of history, culture and local attractions. Paula was great! Highly recommend this tour.
Great tour with Sanna today with lots of interesting information on the places we visited today. Recommended!
For those on a limited time schedule like me, this is a fantastic way to see Helsinki. You get the best of many worlds, traveling by minibus, walking around the sites, and then hopping on the ferry to explore Suomenlinna. Tanja, our guide, was brilliant; her knowledge was incredible and she was very friendly and approachable, answering any questions you may have. Also, I would like to give a shout-out to Helsinki Tours for their communication over the last few days. Thank you for making the day a great one.
Great introduction to Helsinki and Caesar was an excellent guide. Really enjoyable day and learned so much about the history and culture
We got to see everything on our must see check list. It was awesome. Our guide, Harry, was so knowledgeable and shared it with us, telling us about each site and the background for many places.
Pick-up on time, great and clear communication with the operator, Daniela (our tour guide for the day) was super friendly and accommodating, a special mention goes to our Finnish driver (I’m terrible with names, I can remember) for being super funny and spontaneous! The guide explained everything in detail - the whole experience was so enjoyable that I’d do it again in a heartbeat!
Excellent way to get to know Helsinki. Our guide, Sanna was fantastic. Knowledgeable, friendly, went out of her way to make sure everyone in the group is look after. Highly recommended
Daniela was a super guide - very personable and friendly. She matched our pace and was very informative. Our driver, Pekka was also very good. He was knowledgeable and added extra info to supplement our guide. The pick-up at our hotel was super easy. It was fascinating to watch the ferry to Suomenlinna make it's way through the ice. Suomenlinna was a lot bigger than I was expecting; it was an interesting fortress. Highly recommend this tour!
It was awesome experience with Helsinki tour. Right from my booking to me reaching the pick up point, there was constant communication from Ulla. And then came Mr Fransisco, our tour guide. He was amazing person and explained me the entire history of every place in such details that I was awestruck. He took care of us and showed us the city quite beautifully. Kudos for Fransisco. Thanks 👍
My experience was a little different because I was the only one on the tour so Francisco took me on a walking tour instead and then we went on the ferry to see the fortress. Which is a must do. But it was great and I appreciated the effort for just me.
This small group bus/walking tour was a little light on the historic info but heavy on political and social discourse...not our scene but others in the group seemed to be driving the discussions. I still don't know anything about the Fortress.
Harry was a tremendous guide. He was funny, entertaining, highly knowledgeable, and eager to answer any and all of our questions. He was also super engaging, and made a huge effort to be friendly to everyone in the group. It made for a wonderful day for everyone. He also provided us with practical and excellent restaurant and shopping ideas for after the tour, and even gave me a short education on the Finnish concept of SISU which I’m going to remember forever. The sights we saw (Olympic Stadium, cathedrals, parks, markets, libraries, university, and of course the Fortress Island) were fantastic. All in all it was truly a 10/10 day.
Private tour of the city, first part by comfortable minibus for max 8 people (we were 6), small free time at noon at the old market where we had the opportunity to eat quickly, then further tour by ferry and on foot. There was quite a market on the island of S. (mostly flat). The guide was nice and had a good voice, it was nice. Too bad for a private tour that the pickup is only offered in a few hotels to go to for departure (it is true that mine was a little off-center, Hotel Valo).
