Although it was a cold and wet day we had a good tour. Our guide did her best to show us everything and keep us dry. Such a pity as we were looking forward to seeing Helsinki and will be returning.

This was a really good tour and well organised. Even though we had a small group, our guide Jola used a microphone so everyone could hear her clearly. Unfortunately we had a little rain, but the tour proceeded regardless. We managed to view a number of historical buildings and learnt a lot about the history of Finland. We concluded the well paced tour at the fabulous Oodi Library (well worth a viewing) . Thanks Jola for a wonderful tour, highly recommended.
Our Guide was excellent. She led us around Helsinki and gave a great amount of information about the city itself, the people and the food. I would highly recommend this tour to any new visitor to Helsinki.
Wonderful tour. Knowledgeable and personable guide. Lovely sights. Highly recommend.
Jola was a great guide. Very informative. Lots of history. Answered all of our questions. Great English. Highly recommend this tour and this guide.
Jo was excellent, was able to answer all questions and made the commentary lively and interesting. We think he went over and above what was expected. The group was small, Jo spoke well and we think he covered everything. We think he was someone who obviously enjoyed doing this. A huge shout out to Jo and a big thanks to would recommend without hesitation
Learned a lot of interesting information from our very knowledgeable guide.
The booking was really easy and only a few hours before the tour started. Our Guide was a 10/10 she was so good and told is a lot of non boring Information.
The walking tour with Ragnal (sp) was excellent! He gave us an overall and multi-faceted picture of Finland: historical, political, and cultural, engaging his listeners all along. Amazing job in only two hours!!! His attention to our comfort level was much appreciated: bathroom stop and finding places to sit even, in the shade. Thank you!
The guide didn’t show at the meeting place provided by Trip Advisor.
Excellent walking tour of the city, with history, stories and humor. In two hours covered a large part of the city in good detail, and it was really enjoyable. Easily worth at least 15 euros and you simply pay what you feel it's worth to the guide. Highly recommend.
Informative and nice guide, visited several spots in the city centre. I learnt more about the history and culture of the country and Helsinki
Been on several walking tours all over the world... and our guide here was the saddest one of them all. Yes it was raining, so we did a lot less walking than expected. So instead of jumpstarting our stay in Helsinki, it dampened my mood. Not the happiest guide for the happiest place on earth
We had Ruslan as Tour guide and he did a great job. He wasn‘t just talking History, he also gave some insights about living in Helsinki, eating and cultural stuff. Through showing some pictures referring to what he told us the tour became more lively!
Very good walking tour, or guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. In addition, she recommended multiple places for us to explore and eat.
A delightful tour, full of information about the history of Finland and Helsinki with useful pointers about how to enjoy the city today.
Nice way to see and learn about some of the highlights in he city center. Guide was very informative.
Fantastic review. Jola was a fantastic tour guide. Explained everything in detail while keeping it lively and interesting. The two hours passed in a blink !!!
Our tour guide, Ruslan, did an excellent job sharing the history, as well as showing us the sights of this magnificent city. He was mindful of the cold day and incorporated several indoor stops to warm us up.
I visited Helsinki due to a work event and wanted to use the weekend to get to know some more about the Finnish culture and its history. And that’s exactly what I got: Ruslan, our guide knew basically everything about the city, the country, the culture, the history and gave a lot of interesting Finnish insights. I liked that he did the tour in a very interactive way: he consistently included us, asked questions, let us pose questions whenever we had any, which made the tour fun and memorable. Overall a wonderful experience! Highly recommended!
We joined for the free walking tour of Helsinki with Ruslan. The tour was interactive, he explained us regarding the history of Helsinki, the Finnish traditions, such as the student parade, and politics and economics aspects. Considering the cold, Ruslan was attentive , for example he programmed stops indoors (very appreciated), answered to all our questions and made sure we understood everything. We had a really great time and we highly recommend it. Thank you once again!
This was my 3rd tour in Helsinki. Excellent tour, great locations chosen for viewing. I highly recommend it, especially guide Ruslan. Thank you
Two hour tour of central Helsinki. Well-paced, informative and fun. Highly recommended. One tip - dress for the cold weather if needed. Standing in the shade and wind at zero Celsius does require some preparation. I was ok (having lived in Eastern Canada) but some of the more southerly Europeans on the tour (and their kids) were obviously cold. Which detracts from the experience.
I participated in the tour on 24th September, unfortunately I don't remember the tour guide's name, she is originally from Germany and lives in Helsinki for 8 years. She was a great tour guide, took us to all main sights in the city centre, gave us a very good overview about the city and Finland's history and recommended many places (museums, restaurants, saunas, Soumenlinna island) that worth a visit.
Lovely city walk with excellent guide who provided a lot of interesting information and tips. The walk took two hours but had many stops so it was not hard.
Highly recommend this tour- worth a large tip especially if you are lucky to have Viki as your guide. We enjoy tours that balance history with humour and modern day relevance and this had it all. Would recommend you do this tour in day one of your stay in Helsinki !
Ruslan was amazing. Taking us to interesting places and telling all backgrounds stories. His tempo was good. Not too long staying and telling long stories. We saw iconic buildings and also he told about Finish culture and gave us great advices where to go , to see and to eat. We loved it
A really informative tour and worthwhile doing but, I didn’t like that the guide began the tour by saying that tips were necessary either in cash or by card. Obviously I was going to tip but this really put me off!
Excellent tour with very good guide. Very informative but not so much you can’t take it all in , some amusing stories as well as historical. She covered so much about life in Finland too now , the winters , food, culture etc. I would highly recommend
A lovely, leisurely tour of Helsinki highlights. The guide provided interesting historical information and even had visual aids to enrich the tour. We wandered through old and new parts of the city, and saw different sights of historical, religious, cultural, and artistic import.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable of Helsinki. He told us some funny stories. We would highly recommend as it was also wheelchair accessible although the cobbled streets were very bumpy
Such a great way to see the city! We enjoyed the smaller group size and sharing travel experiences with each other. The meeting place was easy to find. Our guide, Jola, was there early to greet all the members. She was friendly, courteous, professional and full of sooooo much Helsinki information. Despite the rainy weather, the tour group didn't miss out on any sites. Be sure to wear good walking shoes, pack an umbrella/rain gear and a TIP!
Great way to discover Helsinki and Finland history. our guide Jola was fantastic, friendly, approachable, a lot of knowledge and information, very engaging and interactive. not reading of the textbook but true passion
Ruslan, our guide was absolutely superb! His detailed knowledge was exceptional. His English was excellent. His ability to connect with the 11 in our group and engage us made this great fun. My wife was using a mobility scooter and his sensitivity to her needs for smooth places to cross the streets was special to us. It was raining during the tour and he made two stops inside for us to warm up and get relief from the rain. I was amazed at his encyclopedic knowledge which poured out in response to all of the many multi-topic questions from our diverse group. I pray that all the group gave him generous tips even though he told us tips were not required. He is a valuable asset to your group!
This was a good tour - I would rate it 3.5. The guide did a good job of describing the history of Finland and the background of the various buildings and monuments. If you are a history buff (which we are), this is the tour for you. We were a fairly large group (he even stated at the beginning that it was particularly large), maybe 40 or more people. His microphone equipment sometimes did not reach everyone. Particularly in one square with a fountain behind us, it was hard to hear even if you were fairly close. We were given about 10-15 minutes to go into the Helsinki Cathedral at the beginning of the tour. I think that the guide might have spent too much time giving us background and history as we stood in one place because it seemed like the second half of the tour was sort of sped up. We were given no time to look around Market Square (which we had already explored on our own) but the tour info says 20 minutes will be given to explore the vendors in Market Square. It did follow the route described online, going up the Esplanade and ending at the Oodi Library. At the end of the tour we were given a minute to take a photo of the list of suggested restaurants. He didn't say anything about foods to taste or give any opinions of any restaurants. He also stated very little about Finnish life. I did feel that the guide did not show any personality, he was just following a script. It is a worthwhile tour and we did tip him well.
Jola was great. Her food recommendations were also great. We followed up on several of here suggestions. She was well prepared and kept it moving too.
Honestly, their tour really wasnt great at all. We tried to give the guide a chance, but she kept going off on tangents that had nothing to do with where we were, and we ended up having to leave. We only paid 3 euros for the tour each so it wasnt a great loss, but still its really just a bit of a waste of time. I gave 2 stars because they were easy to find due to a green umbrella and green cap. But kinda wish we found someone else instead. I would say its worth paying for a more premium product.
This was a wonderful introduction to Helsinki and to Finland. Our guide gave us so much interesting information and ideas of what to see in the city. I highly recommend this tour.
We had a great free walking tour with our amazing guide Siri. We learned a lot about the city and the country. A perfect first insight!
We had a wonderful tour with Siri - she was local and very knowledgeable and interesting. We appreciated her flip book with photos to help her guide… she was a good pace, not too fast or slow, current cultural information as well as historic. Highly recommend - don’t forget to give her a good tip!
We had a very informative Guide and places to stop to get warm. I would definitely recommend this tour and company and would try another tour from them again.
Our guide Viki was a font of information and provided some snippets of history we were not aware of before undertaking this tour. She had a great sense of humour and we could not have asked for a better guide. The tour itself showed off a lot of the landmarks within Helsinki including some we would not have thought to visit ourselves. The walking distance and time involved was easily manageable and I can highly recommend this tour as a starting point for a visit to Helsinki to explore the city, especially to identify places you might want to spend some time at during subsequent days.
Excellent, fun and informative tour in Helsinki. Vicki was a great guide who shared so many interesting facts on the city and Finnish culture. Highly recommend this tour!
We did a free walking tour with Ainhoa and it was super fun! I really recommend the tour, we had a great time learning something about Helsinki :)
Really enjoyed our tour guided by a non Finnish lady Inhoa who gave us a great insight to the Finns, their habits, the history and so many interesting buildings. She really knew her stuff and made it enjoyable. Kept us out of the drizzle and strong winds where she could. Definitely worth doing thank you
On a recent trip to Helsinki with my dad, we went on the Green Cap free walking tour. It was a wonderful tour - I can't recommend it enough. We saw all the essential Helsinki sites and learned so much about Helsinki, Finland, and Finnish culture. Our tour guide was personable, clearly passionate about Helsinki, and you could tell enjoyed what she was doing. Although it is a free tour, we of course compensated our tour guide via tip since that's the only way she gets paid for the tour. Overall, was a great experience.
5- we had your guide Ainhoc. She was just lovely. Organized, blended history, culture, Finnish ways all in a beautifully designed walking tour.
Very nice your which was enhanced by the complete and funny explanatios of Guido Viki. She was fantastic, as well as the weather we han that day
This was a wonderful walking tour and I would recommend to anyone spending a day in Helsinki. Our guide, Katia, was so friendly and well informed on the history and sights the 2 hours flew by. It was extremely easy to find our guide ( just at bottom of steps to white cathedral holding a green umbrella) and a pleasant stroll through the city, which should not be too taxing for many people. Thank you Katia.
Kieto was very knowledgeable and efficient. We learned a lot about Helsinki, Finland and the Nordic region. I highly recommend him as a guide.
