Great trip! Very helpful and super responsive customer service. I had so many questions and they were so kind, patient and accommodating. The tour guide was fun, informative and helpful! Highly recommend this easy day trip!

A fair amount of walking is involved including up and down medieval steps. A lovely place to explore though.
Overall, the experience is 5 stars. I appreciate the ease of being picked up at the hotel and then being dropped off as well. The tour guide at Tallinn, Roman, was pretty good. It was hard to understand him at times, but he did a good job overall pointing things out to us. It was nice being in a small private group tour. I will say that I was a little surprised that he didn’t meet us after our free time to make sure we got on the right van / mini bus, but the meeting point was easy to find so I guess that’s okay.
Experience: very good worth to go Guide: very friendly and knowledgeable and professional Arrangement: very smooth and clear instructions
Brilliant experience - Jean the guide was so knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend the day with her - highly recommended
Our entire day was well planned, with the transport to and from the ferry we'll done, our guide Roman was very knowledgeable, and the experience memorable.
Outstanding experience. Our tour guide was Evgenia. She explained the history of the country as well as provided insight as to the culture. I was impressed by the scenery, the buildings, the people, and the stories. Evgenia made a true difference. The pick-up and drop-off logistics were perfect. Everything happened on time and with clear signage. The ferry ride was also straightforward. The ship does offer many food options. In summary it was a great day, in an outstanding city, with wonderful people.
Our driver picked us up from our hotel and dropped us at the ferry terminal. He did not speak to us and was initially abrupt when I asked if he was picking us up for the Tallinn trip. When he dropped us off I had to ask him where to go. This should not put you off as soon as we met our guide Anastasia the trip really started when we got off the 2 hour ferry crossing. Anastasia was knowledgeable and friendly. The places we visited were lovely and interesting to understand the history of Tallinn. Once the tour was over Anastasia made sure we all knew where our driver was picking us up from to get back to the ferry and which terminal we head to make our way to. We had a good length of time to enjoy the streets of Tallinn and explore on our own. We were promptly picked up on time and made on way back the ferry. When we arrived our driver sent a message to let us know he was on his way. He greeted us with a friendly smile. He asked about our experiences in Tallinn and in Finland. He was very pleasant and polite which ended the trip for us incredibly nicely. We would definitely recommend the Tallinn trip.
Everyone we worked With at get a guide was fantastic! Wonderful communication and customer service. The tour was great and learned so much. Wish we had more time!
This was a great little tour that gave us a nice insight into the older parts of Tallinn. We did a one-day trip from Helsinki and the team did a fantastic job getting us there. They arranged a pickup from, and return, our hotel and clear instructions on how to get the n the ferry and where to meet upon arrival. Anastasia was our guide and as he was fantastic. She had interesting in as nights and was quite skilled at keeping us on time. Moving amongst a number of much larger tour groups, she could have a second job herding cats in a storm! The tour lasted two hours and ended with Anastasia showing us where we would be picked up. After doing that, she left (her job was done) and we got about our self-paced tour. The driver was on time and left when we were told he would leave. You have very specific times to be at the ferry and they were intent on getting us there on time. . One member of our group, who was traveling alone, did not make it to the pickup point and we left without her. I texted the tour operator so they knew and could reach out to her. We had some bad weather roll in and, as it turns out, she had taken a taxi to the ferry. All in all, a great way to get a nice walk through Tallinn. The information you get can help focus where you may want to spend more time when on your own time.
Day Trip to Tallinn, Estonia We enjoyed a wonderful day trip to Tallinn, with pickup and drop-off included in the tour. Ulla provided excellent service from start to finish, keeping us well informed from the time of booking through to our return to the hotel. Having transfers included made everything so much easier, especially as we don’t speak the language and the ferry port was some distance from our hotel. On arrival in Tallinn, we were met by Julianne, who was fantastic. She set a comfortable walking pace, shared fascinating insights into Tallinn’s history, and allowed us plenty of time to take photographs. Ulla stayed in contact throughout the day, and when we arrived back at the port, our driver was waiting to take us back to our hotel. Overall, it was a very well-organised, informative, and enjoyable experience. We would most definitely recommend this tour very highly.
Everything was taken care of from our pickup to our ferry ticket. The tour company stayed in touch through text the whole time, which made it easy to anticipate what was next. On top of the walking tour, you also have plenty of time to explore Tallinn on your own. I did this tour in the middle of February. And although it was cold, it was worth every minute.
It was beautiful scenery, old town is full of history. It was very windy and cold, but we enjoyed it. The tour company- Helsinki Tour, was very responsive to our questions
The hotel transfer and ferry ride was very smooth. We had only arrived in the early hours of the morning so thought the later start would be best. Not a good choice when making the best of our gift and battling jet lag plus early store closing on Sundays. Great historical knowledge shared by our guide but be prepared to go back through the areas to collect souvenirs and more pictures.
Wonderfully organised trip from start to finish. Communication from the tour company and especially Zoe was excellent throughout with clear instructions. The ferry ride was okay wth ample seating. The guide at Tallinn was Anastasia who was fantastic and passionate. Lots to see ad do in Tallinn. Free time was adequate. Lunch at Tallinn - try Olde Hansa. Dinner on the ferry - many options available. Highly recommended trip !
This tour made everything easy. Picked up at our hotel, included ferry tickets, and guide and transportation waiting for us in Estonia. Also included transport back to ferry and then back to our hotel. Guide was knowledgable and interesting.
Wow!! What a fantastic tour we had in Tallinn, Estonia, from Helsinki! It was fabulous!! The transfers to and from our hotel were smooth and timely with very nice drivers. Our guide in Tallinn was knowledgeable, had excellent English, and a good sense of humor. Although the weather was challenging, our guide arranged for hot beverages and a warming stop at unique, cozy places with wonderful lunch recommendations at the end of the tour. The snow made the trip just that much more special! Outstanding, fantastic tour that we’ll always treasure!!
The tour and place was really good, but the cost doesn't justify the inclusions. The driver picked us up and dropped at ferry station the return ferry cost not more than 40 Euros, even if we had taken private taxis...for 4 of us the per person cost would have been less than 6o Euros. The short guided tour at Tallin wasn't worth all the extra paid.
Fantastic trip. Very knowledgeable wonderful guide. Pick up and drop offs arrived on time. Kept fully up to date with info from Viator.
We had such a wonderful day, the tour was so well run, communication was excellent and we found it so easy to just relax and enjoy a marvellous family day in Tallinn, Tallinn is so beautiful I highly recommend this experience!
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Tallinn. The pick up and drop off at our hotel was well organized, the Ferry enjoyable and our tour was really interesting. It’s a beautiful city well worth visiting. Highly recommend!
The personal service on this tour was top notch from beginning to end. The professional tour guide was amazing and very knowledgeable and helpful. It was a long day but soooooo worth it! Tallin, Estonia is a must see!!
Michael the tour guide was very nice, polite, very knowledgeable, was willing to show us places we were interested in. The public transportation experience was excellent. A nice long walking tour of the city. Highly recommended.!!!
Start to finish such an amazing tour! Communication was very easy getting to and from the ferry and finding our guide in Tallinn. Every stop on the tour was beautiful and our guide was super knowledgeable about the history of Estonia! She was also very patient and helpful taking our pictures to capture the memories. When the tour ended and we had time to ourselves to explore she left us with great restaurant recommendations. We got lunch at Olde Hansa, the food was amazing! We had plenty of time to shop and explore before going to our pickup location which was also very easy to navigate. Once returning to Helsinki we had an issue with our taxi leaving before we could find it. We were able to contact the company via text (how we were told about both taxi pickup info) and she was extremely helpful finding a new taxi, things happen and it was not her fault at all but she was very helpful and apologetic. They had me send the taxi receipt to reimburse that ride. A great company to work with, and a great city to explore!
Everything was so well organised. From the moment the booking was made to the end of the day trip, it was so well planned. Our guide took us to places we wouldn’t have seen had we just walked around and knew her city well. Tallinn is a beautiful city. I can recommend the company and this tour.
Felt like a very Private tour (just 3 of us) with an excellent knowledgeable guide. Made a new friend from France (the 3rd person). Beautiful walking city. Tour included pick up and drop off to Hotel + Ferry tickets round trip + guide pick up in Tallinn...awesome arrangements
A day trip to Tallinn will crown your visit to the Nordic countries. It is a charming city with lots of history. Our guide have a fascinating count of the life under the Danish rule on the one hand and the Russian occupation on the other. Old Town has been beautifully restored and has architecture rivaling that of France. The tour was well organized with seamless transportation. I highly recommend Vegan Restoran V on Rataskaevu 12, for lunch.
We enjoyed the day in Tallinn! Hotel pick-up to start the day was an excellent feature, and we did not have any issues with the ferry trip either. We were in line early enough to grab a seat on the boat (it does seem that the ferry line oversells the trip), and even joined in the Bingo game! We met our guide Julia easily, and boarded a small bus to begin the tour. It turned out the the "three hour" tour included a visit to Kadriorg Park, a nice feature that we had not been expecting. Then we headed to the "old town", but it felt as if we were rushing through the tour there - and also that we had plenty of time overall. Our guide seemed to be in somewhat of a hurry most of the time, and often had to stop to allow the slower members of the group to catch up. There was plenty of time for some shopping and lunch at a very relaxed pace (plenty of interesting - though somewhat overpriced - outdoor spots from which to choose). Meeting place for the return to the boat had been clearly described, so there were no issues with the return, as we were again lucky enough to find a seat, and watched the Olympics during the return trip. Helsinki Tours easily handled an issue with a taxi problem upon our arrival, directing us to engage our own taxi, for which we were promptly reimbursed. Overall, I would say we enjoyed the day, but it felt a bit overpriced considering our rush through the tour, and the amount of time you are actually on your own. But if you want stress free transfers, I can recommend this tour.
Tallinn is a beautiful city. The ferry boat to and from Tallinn is very comfortable. The guide, Julie, was knowledgeable, but she seemed a little rushed. What made the trip amazing was Zoe from Helsinki Tours. She kept in touch with us during working hours and off working hours, to make sure the hotel pick up was adequate and so the pick up from the port upon our return. Everything worked like a clock. We strongly recommend this tour. It was an amazing day.
From pick up to drop off back at our hotel our day was amazing. The whole experience was seamless and thoroughly enjoyable. Great guide, beautiful scenery, fabulous food choices. A long day but worth every minute
This was a group tour where we were the only people who booked so it turned in to a private tour around beautiful Tallin. All transport was included: hotel > ferry > destinations > ferry > hotel... and was communicated perfectly. Not once were we worried. Dasia, our guide was fluent in English, happy to answer any questions and so engaging. Her knowledge of her home city was 2nd to none. We had the best day and didn't feel like the 13hr day that it was. Tallinn itself is a wonderful city and without Dasia's info we would have missed so much and not had the experience the destination deserved. Would 100% recommend, it's not to be missed!
An awesome day trip from Helsinki into Tallinn. The tour includes a round trip ferry ride which was on time and pleasant. Once in Estonia, our guide was great. He had a deep knowledge of the history of the country and was very approachable. We toured Katherine's palace and the local park which were beautiful. After that we went to old town and toured several churches and through the stone streets eventually ending up in the town square. This area is absolutely stunning and full of history. At the end we had several hours of own time where we could grab lunch and tour around a bit on our own. A really great day which was run exceptionally well.
The instructions were very clear and Zoe was quick to respond to all of our inquiries. From hotel pick up to drop off, the whole trip was so organized. We had a private tour with Anastasia who was able to show us all the important highlights of Tallin including restaurants serving local medieval food. Overall, we loved the experience!
This day trip from Helsinki was well worth doing. The organising from Viator and organiser were just great. The tour guide in Tallinn was also top class. He was very well informed and kept us all interested for the entire tour. Fully recommend this to anyone. Tallinn is a very nice place.
Our guide was fantastic. She was so knowledgeable and super nice to show us the beautiful parts of Tallinn!
Anastasia gave us a perfect overview of the importance and rich history of Tallinn. She drove us first to see some highlights in the city. And then took us on a walking tour of the old town. I would definitely recommend this tour. It was easy to manage. And a delightful day. Then we had time to shop and have a leisurely lunch before returning to Helsinki.
organized efficient for general overview of the city Does not include entrance to anything but one should not expect to see all that talin offers in a couple hours The driver drove a few places and quick tour of old city For the limited time got as much as could be expected However you reall need to do this a 2 day(one overnight) trip
Our tour guide, Anastasia, was very knowledgeable. Tour was interesting and we really enjoyed it. We had a lot of walking.
Tallin is a wonderful place to visit! The pickup and transfers worked well. But once in Estonia, the bus that took us around showed up very late, then when we were supposed to meet him again, he was late again. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly but she could not understand us when we asked questions. I would recommend doing this but be prepared for logistical challenges.
The medieval dining experience at Olde Hansa was spectacular… as recommended by our wonderful guide, Anastasia. Thank you!
Talinn was an amazing place to experience. Beautiful city with an interesting history. Loved the day there!
Great tour! Comfortable and complete guided tour! We had a fantastic time and Tallinn is beautiful! Transportation is extremely comfortable.
The vast amount on historical information that was given. Guide Roman was very friendly and very knowledgeable.
The Tallinn day-long excursion was worth every moment, from the hotel shuttle to and from the ferry, to the excellent guide service in Tallinn. The communication with Zoe at Helsinki Tour was superb and ensured that the entire experience was excellent! Unfortunately - for them - two others had to cancel at the last minute, so it was a solo tour with the guide, Julia, who was very informative and made the history come alive. I highly recommend the trip to anyone interested in Tallinn and Estonia's history and modern day culture.
This was a great trip, a big thank you to the operator who managed to get us the tour within very short time frame. We loved our tour guide in Tallinn, Anastassia Raja, she is very knowledgeable, she knows her things.
A super wonderful tour to Tallinn! I got to see the key highlights of Tallinn in a day and the transportation was seamless, from hotel pick-up to ferry ride! I also want to say a big THANKS to Zoe for being patient with all my questions and making sure everything was perfect! Thanks lots Helsinki tours and Zoe for the great experience :)
Really great experience. guide was very helpful and showed interesting parts of Tallin. Process to get there and back was very smooth and made the day completely stress-free
Roman was a great guide! He was full of information and was able to answer all of our questions! It was a wonderful day in Estonia!
What started as disappointment when my travel companions got stuck in Dallas after cancelled flights, turned into an extraordinary experience. Helsinki Tour was very accommodating as we first changed our dates at the last minute, making sure we were not charged penalties for ferry changes and then made sure that a taxi was available to transport to the ferry in Helsinki. The tour turned into a private one as my friends missed it. My tour guide, Roman was very knowledgeable and provided so much information about the fascinating city of Tallinn and the Estonia in general. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in the complex history of this area and are looking forward to seeing one of the best preserved walled cities in Europe.
The whole trip went very smoothly - we were picked up and met on time by friendly guides. Dimitri was very knowledgeable about the history of Estonia and Tallinn and we learnt a lot about the culture and politics! A great day trip.
