The Hilton Helsinki is a solid option that is showing its age and due for a refresh, right down to its retro capsule elevators with mauve tiles. The rooms are well-appointed but badly in need of updating, and the bed wasn't the most comfortable. On the plus side, it features a sauna and swimming pool in true Finnish fashion. Dining is a highlight with a pretty good restaurant and a fairly good breakfast, supported by pleasant staff throughout. Its location is ideal, with a tram right outside leading straight to Market Square—a huge plus during less-than-ideal late September weather. It is a decent stay overall, especially for Hilton Honors members, though property-wide upgrades would easily elevate the experience.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I would like to sincerely thank Haamody and Topias at the reception of the Hilton Helsinki for their exceptional support in resolving an issue with my reservation. Their professionalism, willingness to help, and calm approach completely changed what initially seemed like a negative situation into a very pleasant experience. They made me feel listened to and supported at every step, finding a solution with genuine care and outstanding customer service. Thank you again, Haamody and Topias. Your dedication truly made a difference! I highly recommend this hotel.
I stayed at Hilton Strand Helsinki for three nights as a Hilton Gold member, and unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing Hilton experiences we've had. We always choose Hilton whenever we travel because we've consistently had excellent experiences with the brand. That's why this stay was particularly disappointing. The main issue was the housekeeping. On the second day, after returning to the hotel, the room had only been partially serviced. The beds were made and some towels were replaced, but the bathroom counter had not been cleaned. On the third day, we returned to the hotel at around 6:00 p.m., and our room had not been serviced at all. We mentioned this to the front desk the following morning (our check-out day), but the response was simply an apology, with no effort made to address the issue. The room amenities were also lacking. There were no basic toiletries such as a toothbrush, comb, or similar essentials that are commonly available in hotels of this category. The breakfast was also disappointing. Several dishes ran out during service and were not refilled, leaving very limited options for guests. As Hilton Gold members, we expected a much higher standard of service and attention to detail. The location is great, but the housekeeping, breakfast, and overall service fell well below the standard we've come to expect from Hilton, and unfortunately, this stay left us very disappointed.
We trusted the Hilton brand. That was a mistake. The hotel is clearly showing its age. Most of the staff lack the level of professionalism and elegance you would expect, both in their appearance and in the quality of their service. The restaurant menu consists of dog-eared sheets of paper clipped onto a wooden board. The Executive Lounge on the 7th floor is well below the standard usually found in hotels of this category. The selection is extremely limited, almost identical from one day to the next, and, above all, there is simply not enough food or seating for the number of guests. No housekeeping in the room on the second day... I made my own bed at the Hilton! In conclusion, this is unlike anything we have ever experienced in a hotel of this category.
Staying at this hotel felt like stepping into a time machine back to the 1990s. The overall interior design created a nostalgic atmosphere—but unfortunately not in the way you would expect from a hotel in this price range. The room itself was decent and reasonably comfortable, but it certainly wasn't enough to make up for the rest of the experience. The spa and pool area looked like they had been left untouched since the 1990s. The facilities felt old and worn, the pool water was uncomfortably cold, and the changing rooms had only open coat racks instead of lockers, which didn't feel particularly secure. If the spa and pool area were renovated and modernized, it would make a significant difference to the overall guest experience. The room also lacked basic amenities such as slippers. Breakfast was average—nothing particularly memorable, but nothing especially disappointing either. The biggest disappointment was the value for money. I have stayed in hotels of a similar price category in several other countries, and the experience has consistently been on a much higher level. Here, the price created expectations that the hotel simply did not meet. If you're looking for a nostalgic journey back to the 1990s, this hotel certainly delivers. If you're expecting the comfort, facilities, and quality normally associated with this price range, you may leave disappointed.
