Very disappointing experience. After checking in, I was unable to access my room with the key card provided. This happened around midnight, leaving me stranded with no way to enter my room. There was no staff at reception, and nobody answered the hotel’s emergency phone number despite several attempts to call. As a result, I had to book another hotel for the night at my own expense. The next morning, the receptionist showed little concern for what had happened. Instead of apologizing for the inconvenience, the focus was on assuring me that the payment would be refunded. Two weeks later, I am still waiting for that refund. Overall, the customer service was poor, both during the incident and afterward. The only positive aspect of this hotel is its proximity to the city centre. Based on my experience, I would not recommend staying here.

Located in the center, very easily reached from Karlsruhe Hautbahnhof (both via public transport or just a 20 min walk) and the main market boulevard of Karlsruhe is a 10 min walk from hotel. It has a very large Edeka under it so you can have cheap ready meals, bakery etc, it is very convenient if you are looking for a budget friendly stay. Rooms are spacious. For the price, it is definitely a bargain.
This was hands down the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. We booked one night in their so-called “Comfort” room — the priciest option — traveling with our two toddlers. What we got instead was filth, stench, and total neglect. * The room reeked of cigarettes. The air, furniture, bedding — everything stank like an ashtray. Absolutely nauseating. * The balcony was disgusting: caked with bird droppings and littered with cigarette butts everywhere. * Toilet paper? One half-used, wet roll. That’s it. * Bathroom filth: trash from previous guests, a grimy showerhead, and a clogged drain that refused to empty. * Floors were filthy. Walking barefoot was out of the question — especially with crawling toddlers. * Wrong setup: room prepared for three instead of four guests, despite our clear booking. * Breakfast chaos: every table taken or covered with other people’s junk. The food looked awful. We left hungry and went elsewhere to feed our kids. * We arrived late, right before reception closed. By the time we saw the disaster we’d paid for, the staff was gone — otherwise, we’d have walked out immediately. Bottom line: this place is a disgrace. Dirty, smelly, mismanaged, and not remotely worth the price. Stay away — it’ll ruin your trip.
I have traveled to many places and stayed in all kinds of hotels and rooms and i can, with confidence, say this has been the worst I’ve ever experienced. From nasty dirty sheets, awful smelling room and hallways, zero customer service. The worst part? Was advertised as a “good” hotel in booking.com showing pictures that were far from real and at a super high price (non refundable, by the way) So no, i strongly advise you not to consider this place, even if it means putting up a couple hundred euros more. You will tank yourself later.
The only good thing about the hotel is that the location is great. You can visit all of the city on foot. If you want to visit something further away you can take the tram that stops in front of the hotel. Our rooms 444.1 and 427 were not clean. In the bathroom the bins were never emptied. You were not able to tilt open the windows. Furthermore you could hear the neighbours very clearly. Anything going on in the floor, you could hear all of the noise. The walls and doors are very thin. The breakfast was very basic. Coffee, cornflakes and some bread. All in all, the hotel is okay if you stay for 1 night but I would not recommend it for longer stays.
