Hotel Chester Heidelberg

From start to finish, this was a very disappointing hotel. The AC does NOT FUNCTION correctly, despite asking staff to assist, we were hot and uncomfortable during our entire stay. The hotel is very basic, perhaps fine for a short business stay, but much better options available. I wanted to highlight the perceived prejudice shown by the Indian receptionist to my partner when he tried to check-in 30 minutes before the official time. The staff member berated him, and was completely and utterly rude. It's clear that reception staff have almost no customer service training, and are insanely abrupt. The lady at the breakfast buffet tried to prevent me from entering 5 minutes before it closed, and had to argue to be allowed in, and she said I could eat it in the lobby, whilst all the staff helped themselves to the buffet. Credit where it is due, the breakfast buffet was really good quality. Shoddy property, I'd suggest you avoid unless price too good to pass off.

Great hotel, 10 minute drive from center, however internet was slow (starlink internet) and I had some development work to do and required to connect VIA Ethernet because access points aren’t placed correctly near rooms even though it’s a new hotel with the newest access points and newest LAN ports with new dates. I hate the glass sliding door though I feel like it’s not that blurred with no lock.

The hotel has normal size room and services but it was super clean. I can easily suggest for travelers. It is walking distance away from downtown but you can use it as chance for early morning excersice near the seaside by walking. Price is also acceptable. Have fun.

Water from the tap tastes funny, and they give you bottled water with gas. Room is comfortable and bed is big. No mini fridge in the room or vending machine in the hotel for midnight snacks. It's not a very convenient location.
