Me and my wife loved this tour! It ended up just being us, and the farm hand gave us the tour (which she said she doesn’t typically do). She did an amazing job and we learned a lot about regenerative farming and Hawaiian history. The farm was in a beautiful location and we got to taste unique fruit as we walked through the farm. We also got a drink to start the tour and a fresh fruit box at the end!

Itinerary
To start, we gather under the shade of a trellis covered with a massive passionfruit vine. While we serve a refreshing welcome drink, we give a quick overview of Hawaiian history and agriculture in West Maui. We will explain the difference between traditional farming and regenerative permaculture farming. This will take about 15 to 20 minutes. Next we will take a walking tour of the farm, passing through pineapple, papaya, Surinam cherries, figs, starfruit, banana and of course, mango. If there is fruit available and ripe, we will give you a taste. As you pass through the farm, check out the epic ocean views on one side, and gorgeous mountains on the other. We will guide you to the best places to take photos. This part of our tour typically takes between 45 to 60 minutes. At the conclusion of the tour we will meet back in our welcoming area where we will serve you a plate of seasonal fruit. Mango season is generally between late May to early November but we have different types of organic fruit to taste throughout the year. After the tasting is a time for self discovery. You can further explore around the welcome area and/or take that perfect sunset photo with a view.

We enjoyed a lovely morning with tour guide and owner, Smita! She met us at the gate and provided us with a lovely morning juice. Smita shared information about hawaiian culture and history prior to beginning our walking tour of the farm. Very informative and eye opening! We then began our walking tour of the farm, accompanied by the owner's cat :) We learned so much about regenerative farming and how to grow things without the need for man-made chemicals. So impressive! The tour ended with a lovely sampling of the various mangos and other fruits grown on the farm!! So delicious and refreshing after our morning walk! I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Maui!
The owners (hubby and wife) lead the tours so it’s very personal they r very knowledgeable esp considering their time farming. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Would highly recommend
The tour was so informative and pleasant! I loved the fact that the farm is regenerative and chemical free. The fruits were AMAZING! And the views are hard to beat. Don’t skip out on this tour during your Maui visit!!
Fascinating and intimate experience. Truly a unique experience. Learned a lot about regenerative mango farming from a knowledgeable and passionate farmer!
Cool look behind the science behind the work that goes into this type of farming.
This is a MUST DO tour on Maui! We were so fortunate to book a tour in the evening on this amazing farm. The hosts are so knowledgeable and welcoming. Andre and Smita make you feel like you are visiting family! The mango’s are by far, the BEST I have ever tasted. (and I tasted sooooo many varieties here!) The views from the farm are spectacular! We recommend sunset! You will not want to leave. We cant wait to revisit! “A Hui Hou”
Great experience! Amazed at what the couple have achieved within 4 years! So many different kinds of mango trees and other tropical fruit trees. They do not use any pesticides or other chemicals. All the fallen leaves and grass go back to the ground and that’s what feeds the trees. Host and hostess were very welcoming and we got to taste mangoes, papaya and bananas all farm grown! They were absolutely yummy 😋 And the sunset was spectacular too Will visit again when we come to Maui next time
Wonderful insights into regenerative farming in mango paradise. Delicious tasting preceded by an informative personalized introduction and tour offered by our very generous hosts. The setting and vista are breathtaking!
Andre was a terrific host. He made it feel as though he was just having some friends over. The tour was very educational about sustainable farming as well as the history of Hawaiian agriculture. We tried several wonderful fruits that I had never heard of in addition to the excellent mangoes.
This was an amazing relaxing tour that felt so heart felt and calming . I would definitely recommend to anybody looking for a great friendly small business to support 🩷. At the end they give a local business paper full of their own recommendations for small businesses . They were beyond kind and generous. Definitely recommend and will be back :)
Andre was an exceptional tour guide. He welcomed us at the entrance and led us up to his farm, where he had homemade passionfruit drinks waiting for us at the table. He started with an overview of farming in Maui, then guided us through his farm where we sampled delicious cherries, tried fresh aloe, and more. At the end of the tour, he treated us to a bowl of seasonal fruits. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience—you won’t be disappointed!
Very friendly tour guide, worth the visit
Exceptional experience: me and my family enjoyed relaxing and natural surroundings and friendly atmosphere. Andre, the owner of mango farm was very welcoming and knowledgeable! Thank you far amazing family memory! The Curinam Cherries were cute and yummy!
Andre was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We learned a lot and were able to sample any fruit that was ripe. And the tour was followed up a sampler of additional fruits. What a great experience!
A Heartfelt Thank You to André and the Maui Mango Mala Farm Family! We are so grateful to André for welcoming us onto his beautiful mango farm and sharing his passion for regenerative farming. Nat, Shelly, Maddy, and I had an absolute blast exploring the grounds, sampling the most incredible fresh fruit, and learning so much along the way. A special shoutout to Tyson for keeping our adventurous crew on the trail, we needed it! And we couldn’t leave without mentioning the stunning clothing line André’s wife created, what a wonderful surprise and a perfect way to bring a little piece of Maui Mango Mala home with us. This is the kind of experience that stays with you. We will absolutely be back! With gratitude and a hui hou, Nat, Debbie, Shelly, and Maddy 🌺
Amazing guides, beautiful scenery and plants. One of the guides took pictures for my wife and I with the sunset. Thank you Smita!!!
We visited for the morning tour and highly recommend it! We were greeted with a homemade mango lassi (from farm raised frozen mango) and a history of the farm and the work Smita and Andre have done to move from abandoned coffee farm to regenerative tropical fruit farming. We finished the tour with a tasting of farm raised fruit. Definitely will return during mango season to taste all the different varieties they are raising.
Friendly host, small regenerative farm. Mangos highlighted but has bananas, papayas, passion fruit, Meyer lemons, exotic types of cherries, cocoa, starfruit, dragon fruit, ice cream bean tree. Samples of many fruit which are in season. Host knowledgable about crops. Small store sells handmade clothing.
We had a wonderful, interesting, educational and delicious experience at the Regenerative mango farm tour! The wife and husband team told their story about how they purchased the farmland, the mess they had to deal with, and their passion to keep the soil free of chemicals, pesticides, less water use and more natural fertilizer minerals that come from companion plants. Wow we learned a lot and got to taste a variety of delicious different fruits!! We highly recommend having this fun adventure!
During our Christmas Vacation my family and I (2 Grandparents, 2 Parents, and 2 Grandsons age 16 and 13) visited Maui Mango Mala Farm and took the afternoon tour conducted by very knowledgeable, friendly, warm and kind Andre. Andre greeted us with fresh Passion Fruit Juice. The farm’s commitment to sustainable, chemical-free practices is evident in every detail—from the lush rows and rows of fruit—some of the seasonal ones we sampled during the tour and of course got a huge sampling at the end of the tour where we met his wife Smita. 😊 We were truly impressed by their use of composting, crop rotation, and natural pest control, which not only protects the soil but produces richer and more authentic crops than anything from a supermarket shelf. To multiple questions by my grandsons Andre shared his knowledge and insights about organic farming methods. We appreciated the guided tour, where we learned how they integrate cover crops and companion planting to maintain soil health year-round. With our Indian heritage we are no strangers to fine Mangoes, and to learn that they have 25+ categories of mangoes on this farm was fascinating! Their farm store offers freshly harvested produce— all bursting with flavor. And of course we sampled them all!! Met Smita at the end of the tour. Sitting at the table and talking to Smita and Andre felt like we were chatting with old friends! 😊😊 What stood out most was the sense of community, making it feel less like a business and more like a shared mission for healthier living and environmental stewardship. If you value fresh, nutrient-rich food and want to support farming that respects the earth, Maui Mango Mala Farm is a must visit. It is not just a place to buy produce, it is a place to meet knowledgeable, very friendly hosts and come away with a feel-good sense of where food truly comes from!
The tour was more than expected and totally worth the price. The time spent at each part the tour was perfect. We are totally impressed at the owners knowledge about regenerative farming. We will come back to enjoy a wholesome meal there in the near future, when it becomes available.
Wonderful place to visit to get the best mangoes I’ve ever had in my life! Very informative as well, they share how their journey began and how it’s going. All the fruit grown here was amazing and they make you feel welcomed on their farm!
We loved our tour with Andre! The farm is absolutely beautiful. Andre was kind, accommodating, and so knowledgeable. The juice at the start of the tour and the fruit at the end were both excellent. We will recommend this tour to anyone coming to Maui in the future!
Must Visit Hawaii tour!!! Very insightful, informative, welcoming experience. Amazing exotic fruit tasting and excellent regenerative farming technique's. Wonderful hosts & a great experience! Highly recommend this farm tour! Shared their amazing itinerary for must visit spots in Maui from a locals perspective. Don’t forget to say hi to Tyson, the cat!
This is a must do for your to do list while on Maui. Smita and Andre are kind and knowledgeable. Smita shared the history of farming on Maui and current farming practices. They care for the community (suggesting a best of list of local experiences) and the environment by choosing purposely planted companions to support the growth of each plant. Smita has shared in a way that has made me rethink my own garden. The tour ended with a tasting of fruit grown on the property while watching the sunset.
Such a unique and incredibly informative and fun experience. They do a great presentation on the history and benefits of regenerative farming and companion planting and the result are amazing. The fruits they harvest are the most flavor-filled that we ever had. This is a must for anyone that has a love of mangoes and what makes them so one of kind.
This a very unique experience and must try. Lost of local fruits and lots of shared knowledge about farming. Andre was wonderful gave us a lot of great info.
This mango farm tour is awesome! The couple running it are so sweet and know so much, too. It was really awesome to learn how their mango farm works — as someone interested in gardening, and especially curious about exploring the “food forest” permaculture side of growing food, it was really educational. She taught us the different plant groups that feed each other, and what order to plant to get the most productivity (and safety! We learned that papaya makes a good windbreak for smaller and more delicate plants, and agave makes a good firebreak!). I wish I lived in Maui because I’d be planting mangoes, papayas, bananas, coffee, and cocoa, RIGHT away. It was wild finding out how fast and tall papaya trees grow! These plants don’t grow well in Seattle, but we are still going to take what we learned and see how we can apply similar features for our own food forest. I appreciated the very real perspectives about what works - as well as pitfalls and challenges with their food forest / mango farm. The tour was really interesting and fun, and we even had a resident cat named Tyson who took the tour with us! SO CUTE! The view there was beautiful, and though our tour group was tiny, I could see this being a fun activity for kids and families, too. Enough safe space for little folx to run around safely, and so much is stackable. She let us try mango (and wild mangos), ice cream beans (what an experience!), fresh coffee, and more. So good! They said they are going to do dinner parties here and I look forward to coming back to the Maui mango farm when we visit next time. Hopefully we’ll have some good photos to show off of the garden upgrades that they’ve inspired. We really wanted to do something to support the Lahaina community (without being a disaster tourist, either), so visiting a regenerative farm seemed like an awesome choice, and I’m very glad we went. Bonus: since Olowalu was on our way back, we got a spectacular sunset, too. 💕
It was a wonderful experience. The farm had a beautiful view. The fruit was amazing; it was the best mango and papaya I’ve ever eaten. The tour was very welcoming and intimate. The host was very kind.
This was one of the highlights of our trip! Smita, who owns the farm, was delightful and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about regenerative farming and got to try some of the best fruit we have ever had. Plus Smita took some great pictures for us. I would absolutely recommend this tour (and would advise on doing this rather than one of the big commercial farm tours).
Andre provided a wonderful tour of the farm for me and my wife. It was very educational to hear about the regenerative farming approach and to see (and taste!) the fruits of their labor!
We came to Maui with our family and we did this amazing, super interestingtour. We really enjoyed this experience, Highly recommended!
This experience was amazing and informative! I came in thinking this would be a big farm experience, but what we got was an intimate tour of a small but clearly bountiful farm. The farm cat Tyson was particularly cute and greeted us at the begining of our adventure. The fruit tasting at the end was so delicious! Definitely book this trip!
It was a great experience and we learned a lot about fruit farming. We tried a bunch of fruits we've never heard of and ate the most amazing, chin dripping mangos!!
This tour was super informative and fun. We learned a lot about regenerative farming and agriculture as is it pertains to Hawaiian soil. Andre, our host and owner, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We got a tour of the farm and tried multiple fruits right off the trees/branches and they were all delicious. Perfectly timed tour that ended with a plate of a variety of fruits (mango focused in August) heads up that mango season ends in August. Would definitely go back and bring family and friends and would easily recommend to anyone who is either curious about regenerative farming, loves to eat fruit or both.
This mango farm tour was by far my wife’s favorite thing we did during our entire honeymoon. The cat, the juicy mangos, the super kind hosts - it was such a great experience and we will be talking about it forever. I would highly recommend anyone going to Maui to visit here
AMAZING is the only word to describe this experience. Andre was such a good host and was so informative. The fruit sampling at the end was amazing. That was hands down the best mango we have ever eaten. If you’re coming to Maui this is a must do!
Loved every minute of this gem of a place. Friendly and kind owners! Fun, informative, beautiful, delicious fruit and all around amazing!!! Skip the commercialized farms and go for this more personal family run business!!
We had no idea what to expect but were met at the gate by Smita one of the owners. We learned all about the valley and their experience in starting the business and growing mangos, passion fruit, and many other fruits. We got a sampling of many fruits from their land. We would recommend it. It was an interesting 2 hours.
Andre grows some great fruit on his regenerative farm, including mango, papaya, starfruit, dragonfruit, and multiple types of cherries. My husband enjoyed the mangoes, even though he is not usually much of a mango fan, and our daughter found a new love for starfruit. The views from the tour location were pretty amazing, too. And Andre gave us some useful recommendations for places with tasty food and drinks around the island, so I am glad we did this tour on the early end of our trip. The only downside of this tour is that no fruit will probably ever match up to the tasty fruits Andre let us try at his farm!
The hosts were very kind and welcoming, and this is a great tour whether you are experienced with permaculture or just wanting to learn something about sustainable farming! My toddler loved eating fruit he got to pick along the tour, as well as the beautiful fruit plate at the end!
Took the family for the breakfast tour. Andre did an awesome job telling us about how they started the farm and explaining how regenerative farming works. The kids loved eating the fresh fruit, including picking tomatoes and cherries right off the plants. Also the view was incredible. Highly recommend as a unique Maui experience
Wonderful experience - beautiful farm. Andre was so informative, kind and fun. We ate the BEST mangoes and other tropical fruits too. Totally inspiring!
So good! The mangos and assorted fruits were delicious and our guide was so nice to talk to. Cat was a bonus. Would recommend!
Best tasting mangoes I have had in a long time!! They have over 20 varieties and each so unique in taste. This is also being reviewed by someone who has had mangoes in India which is widely considered a heaven for mango lovers!!
It was so lovely and amazing to see and taste all the wonderful fruits Andre and his wife grow on their farm. Would definitely recommend to anyone so they can see more of what maui has to offer!
This was EXCELLENT!!! Highly recommend. The owner was so nice and funny and extremely knowledgeable. Very welcoming and also gave us useful information on how to get around the island like a local! Could not recommend this more!
We did the tour with Andre. What a pleasant experience! You get to learn about different regenerative farming techniques and walk around the farm. Picking beautiful fruit right from the trees. Andre was such a personal and funny guide. Tour is low stress. Highly recommend!
Our family of 4, including two teens ages 14 and 17, spent the morning with Smita and Andre touring their farm. It was such a treat to visit their beautiful property, and to learn about regenerative farming, companion planting, and to sample their delicious fruit. In addition to mango, papaya and bananas, we tried several new-to-us fruits: Surinam and Panamanian cherries for example. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and were glad for the opportunity to experience a different side of life in Maui.
