Everything was great, organization, boat, crew & the hole dive experience. I loved the 2 giant turtles!

Dove with April. Big boat with only 6 total divers awesome experience
This is a very good dive shop and operation although I am very experienced diver I am getting older and things get harder this shop looked out for me with the sizing of the gear and out on the boat the divemaster April was so very nice and made me feel very comfortable .
It was a wonderful experience for my first time in Hawaii. From check in at the center. We did the sea tiger wreck and the pipe reef and seen abundant sea life, dozens of turtles, 2 octopuses, many fish, moray eels, and a crown fish. Both the guide Tay and the ship captain were very helpful. I would definitely recommend and comeback for more and hope for better and sunnier weather! :)
I am still giggling with happiness after diving with Tay and cared for by Captain Steve. From the time we showed up at the shop the entire operation was friendly, efficient, safe, thorough and all around fantastic. Gear was out and organized and ready to try on and give it a once over. Before I knew it we were in the van for the short 10 min drive to the marina. Captain Steve gave a great brief of the boat, and safety equipment as Tay loaded our gear and tanks on the boat. And we were shoving off the slip in less than 20 min of arriving. We were the first boat at the deep dive sight and short 15 min boat ride. Tay gave an equally efficient brief about expectations, safety, plans if anyone in the group was having problems. Hand signals for concerns, animals and how to communicate air psi and safety stops. And our bottom time was extraordinarily! Turtles, eels, sharks, and soooo many fish. Surface interval flew by as we moved to the second dive sight. Water, snacks, restrooms and plenty of boat deck space. Second dive was not as deep but filled with even more turtles, eels and fish. An octopus sighting and did I mention turtles the size of Volkswagens!! We pushed back our flight to dive with them again we had so much fun. You are wasting your time if you dive with anyone else. We will come back guaranteed! If I could give ten stars I would.
We recently completed the deep dive on the Sea Tiger wreck with Waikiki Dive Center, followed by a more shallow reef dive. Both dives excellent. Captain Steve and Divemaster Taylor (Tay) ran a safe, efficient, and fun trip. We saw so many fish, moray eels, turtles, an octopus swimming on the reef, and more. This is one trip to do again!
It was not a great experience overall. The receptionist was rude, and I was overcharged during my stay. A couple of the divers also did not have the required advanced certification, which resulted in the dive being cut short. However, Dive Master April was excellent. She was professional, knowledgeable, and did a great job. I hope she finds a dive shop that truly values its customers and her skills. as a world monthly and youtube scuba diver. I wouldn't recomand diving with them.
We went to YO and the dive was amazing, apecial thanks to April (the octopus magnet😃)
Waikiki Dive center was awesome. Just did the Wreck/Reef dive with Divemaster April and it was a great experience. Dive shop had everything ready to go upon arrival with gear all laid out and labeled per person. Just a matter of trying everything on and then headed to boat. Divemaster April was very professional and ensured everybody had a great experience safely. The wreck five was awesome and we saw sharks, eels and fish. The reef dive was pleasant where we saw octopus, turtles and eels. She pointed out a ton of sea life. Highly recommended! Thanks!
The eight dives I did were wonderful and had many respectful close encounters with turtles and rays. Lots of marine life that the dive stuff did a nice job of locating for divers. The shop has many instructors and dive masters that added their own expertise to each dive. Perhaps this led to having to restart everyday of diving like it was day one again for the customer because the staff did not have continuous continuity. This also applies to booking dives before arriving. Having so many different staff members led to some confusion of booking dives. Even with multiple divers on the dive boat at once, the groups were put into smaller groups with many divers having similar diving background experiences put together and the boat never felt crowded. Most dives were a short boat ride to dive locations, the furtherest away was around 7 minutes out. Some dive sites were repeated. Great diving and what seemed to be wonderful diving instruction from Learning to Dive students through divers wanting to become instructors.
Seeing the ship was the coolest thing I’ve ever experienced. And my guide was amazing. 10/10
Great dive operation. The capt & dive masters were professional, knowledgeable, & approachable. They run a well-planned, safe dive op. We did a deep wreck dive at the Sea Tiger where we saw a couple of sharks, and then a reef dive where we saw several honu being cleaned by fish. I would not hesitate to dive with them again. Dive masters Ryan & Taylor were outstanding.
Had 2 fantastic dives with Waikiki Dive Center and Dive Master April. April was very thorough with her dive brief and setting up each dive. She made sure the dives were safe, but also fun. The Sea Tiger wreck was very impressive and the Kewalo Pipe (Deep Pipe) had great scenery. Saw some great turtle action at both sites. Looking forward to the next time I'm on Oahu to go diving w/ Waikiki Dive Center.
I had an amazing experience getting certified through the dive center. Alex, Micah, Red, and Yoshi were all phenomenal instructors, very patient and encouraging. I strongly recommend them for anyone seeking a diving certification.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great experience diving with Waikiki Dive Center! The shop is very organized and makes the trip smooth and enjoyable. Our guide April was awesome. She prioritized everyone’s safety and was fun to dive with. Everyone was helpful and friendly and I would definitely recommend this shop. I will absolutely come back in the future!
Enjoyed my dives! Saw a lot of turtles. The staff did a great job of making sure that I had what I needed to get the most out of the experience.
Poor experience diving the sea tiger in strong current. We got paired with an inexperienced couple on regular air while we were on Nitrox. Spent less than 7 minutes on the wreck and left with a NDL of 10min+. One panicked diver while the second diver was sucking down air at a high rate. While the poor conditions are not the dive centers fault, they also had no issue selling us $22 per tank Nitrox while setting us up for a bounce dive since the DM was on regular air. Pairing experienced divers with less experienced divers on a different gas is inconsiderate at best. There were 2 other DMs/guides on the boat guiding 3 other divers who had “normal dives”. $550 for a crap “bounce” dive + some turtles and not much else. You are better off booking elsewhere. The dive centers response on our Google review further reinforces the problem. They just don’t care, it’s about $$$ while keeping up appearances. “Appreciating” our understanding after the center delivered a poorly executed dive plan and then hiding behind safety is the core problem. I find the dive centers position claiming safety condescending. They made no effort to address the situation. This shop chose to pair inexperienced divers on air with experienced nitrox divers on a 100 foot+ dive believing this is an acceptable practice. There were other DM’s on board, it was not even a staffing issue. Just a complete “not giving a s**t” after getting our money. How about making an accommodation and leaving the experienced divers in the care of another DM vs forcing us to surface? Keeping us grouped with a diver who panicked and another that went through air rapidly for the 2nd dive only highlights that the staff could care less about the experience offered.
Fabulous first dive after lay-off. April was a perfect dive lead, all certified but difficult experience. Sharks, Turtles, many fish, as well as the great wreck of course. I’ll go again!
Great experience and great time, excellent gear and guides. Got to see many fishes, octopuses and turtles!
My fifth time diving with Waikiki Dive Centre. From check in on the whole experience is professionally conducted. This experience is fun and safe for everyone from beginner to diving professional. Highly recommend!
Finished my certification last week here. So I wanted to do two more dives before leaving so I called the shop and wanted to do a wreck dive. So the shop set me up with Natasha. She was amazing. Got to the shop in the morning. Made sure I was good to go. We loaded up and headed to the boat. She went over all safety precautions, made sure I was good to go and off we went. The dive was amazing. The views and the fish and turtles we saw were incredible. All around great dive. If you are up for a dive and want a great experience. Stop, call and ask for Natasha. Thanks again.
Although the visibility wasn’t fantastic, I still had a great time diving the wreck and the pipe. Saw some large fish and even bigger sea turtles! The crew, Tay, April and captain Steve were wonderful and helpful!
The diving with Waikiki Dive Center was awesome! The captain (Yoshi) and guides (Taylor and April) were excellent and made both dives enjoyable by pointing out cool fish and other underwater creatures. We saw multiple sharks and more turtles than we could count. Thanks guys!
I dove several charters with Waikiki Dive Center and had an incredible experience every time. Taylor, April, and Micah were awesome—super friendly, helpful, and always quick to help me spot interesting marine life to photograph. Captain Yoshi, Steve, and Jim kept everything running smoothly on the boat, assisting with gear and making sure all the passengers were comfortable and having a great time. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great underwater adventure in Waikiki
Great last minute dive - walking distance from hotel district to dive shop and convenient transportation to the boat. Shop staff were great as was our DM for the day - Tay. Gear rentals were great quality and boat was big and spacious. Quick couple dives on the Sea Tiger and the pipe was a great way to start the day!
Terrible dive shop. Wanted to dive with them again in the morning. I walked over there to see of there was room on the boat. They said yes but I would have to pay a late booking fee. I have dove in alot of places. That was a first for me. Left a bad taste in my mouth
Great staff, dive master’s and instructors. Stick to the certified dives unless you want to wait on DSD’s and beginners.
I'm a Master Diver with around 100 logged dives worldwide, including in California, the Maldives, Egypt, Cape Verde, Malta, and Australia. I've never experienced such an expensive yet unmotivated dive center. Furthermore, the night dive was canceled at the last minute. One staff member said it was too dangerous due to the weather conditions, the other that the visibility was poor. I checked the sea – it was calm and comparable to the last few days. I suspect they either couldn't or wouldn't get Nitrox (even though it's offered on their website) or they didn't have enough customers, as they had assured us the day before that the dive would be exclusively for the two of us. On a positive note, the equipment (regulator, buoyancy compensator) was in good condition. And: The captain on the boat was friendly and helpful.
Amazing Team and Awesome shop. I did my OWA training during my vacation. Trainers were all hands on and extremely friendly. The dive sites are absolutely amazing. Highly Recommend!!
My first time going to that depth! Had an awesome dive guide/master diver to support my trip. Would definitely do this dive, and the coral reef dive again. Very professional group of people.
Chad was a great dive master- the equipment was excellent- scuba pro wet suits , fins and BCD’s. They run a fantastic operation. When back here in Oahu I will dive with them again!- ONO!
I am so glad I chose to dive with April and Waikīkī Dive Center. They have an extremely knowledgeable and professional dive crew and Captain! I had an amazing time seeing the wreck, a couple of huge sea turtles and an octopus to name a few things. Their team provided a great experience diving!
I will simply say go to Dive Oahu or Ocean Therpy way better boats and better owners who care or if you want to just discover scuba diving not be certified try Scuba Lounge very amazing guy! Stay away from this place most dive masters who worked her could tell you all about how shady and gross they act at Thai business. The owners before new one bought this place were good people and actually “Dived” the owners that now own it one is a guy who look like 1000 pound sisters and can’t dive and the owner is too busy worrying about money. Go see DIVE OAHU or OCEAN THERAPY and magic lagoon for scuba lounge so much better and for the COST! This company did not deliver my wet suit on time o have email of that and proof of going but like I said they will fake it until they try to “make it” lol please save you’re time guys! Down below is the best employee they have and only guy that actually helps and has a smile on his face! Ordered shorty that was double the price I should have got on scuba pro website. But trusted them to deliver in a good time I ordered in July and did not receive it until September. Even no communication with staff about orders from the boss or the people that do what she demands of them in a poor manor. Nick is a great guy and even let me know it was available. But I have already picked it up a few days before the email. It shows how back their communication is and how well they know their “stock” please give this shop to the real Hawaiian people. Instead of ripping off people and lies.
Natasha was a great guide. The water was a little rough but any day at sea is better than a day at the office. Thanks to all at the Waikiki Dive Center!
Attentive boat captain and dive masters are what i want on a scuba trip and waikiki scuba delivered. I have had other dive operations in honolulu and I like this one the best.
I've dived with the Waikiki Dive Center many times over the years. It's always a great experience and whenever I'm in Honolulu I go diving with them. I've never been disappointed. They're half a block from the International Marketplace so easy to find and get to. They recently got a larger boat which makes it even better.
I went out yesterday and dove the sea tiger and Anna was our Dive master, She was awesome, I had a great experience with this company , I would highly recommend Waikiki Dive center If you plan on diving in Oahu. ,
The two dives were great. The Captain and Chat We’re very polite and informative. Great team. I for sure will dive again with them in the future.
Waikiki Dive Center is truly exceptional! My time with instructor Alex was outstanding; he helped me redefine the therapeutic experience of diving. The center provides incredibly considerate and integrated support for both beginners and certified divers, prioritizing safety and ensuring a memorable engagement for everyone. Instructor Chad also provided invaluable breathing techniques that significantly eased my anxiety before deep diving. I wholeheartedly recommend Waikiki Dive Center to anyone planning to scuba dive in Hawaii—they are the best!
We did the Sea Tiger wreck, which was loaded with fish and a few sharks in the distance, had a few nice swimthroughs, and good growth on the in-tact ship. Then a turtle cleaning station where we saw dozens of turtles, moray eels, nudibranchs and much more. Relaxed, easy diving. Staff was great, and our dive guide April went above and beyond, especially on the second dive when my very conservative computer went into deco mode. I was tempted to let it lock out, as everyone else had plenty of time on their profiles, but she hung around with me for the full deco stop, entertaining me with bubble rings and pointing out fish and turtles swimming by below. I know it sucks for a divemaster to have a long stop in midwater like that, but she was great about it, both during and after - didn't make me feel like the idiot I was. The boat was well-suited for diving, though there were only four divers (and two divemasters, gotta love that ratio) for our early morning dives in November. Arranging the dives was quick and easy when we popped into the shop. We had looked online, but they book a couple days ahead, so we just dropped by as the shop was close to our hotel, and they made it happen for the next morning. We just showed up at the shop and they had gear and transport ready. Short hop to the harbour, short boat ride. Like Hawaii should be: chill and relaxed.
Anna, April. And Captain Steve did an amazing job.- super fun and saw lots of great stuff. They took care of everything and assured a smooth and fun trip!!
Fun dive, great dive master and ship crew Saw an Eagle ray, a bunch of turtles, a morey eel, and an octopus. Cool wreck dive too.
Dives were well organized, safe and they were able to accommodate different levels of diving experience without negatively impacting the more experienced divers.
Wow! Right from the start I was impressed. The included rental gear was high quality and fit great. The staff helped me select the right amount of weight and did a great job of explaining the dive to me before we hit the water. The dives themselves were nothing short of incredible! I saw thousands of fish, a dozen sea turtles and even an eagle ray. So much life. 10/10 would recommend and will absolutely book with them again!
They were a great dive shop. The boats were well equipped and comfortable. Safety was a priority. They also made sure we had a lot of fun. I dive with Taylor and April over 2 days, and they were both great. The rental gear is in very good condition. I will use them again when I'm back in Honolulu.
Good shop, friendly and knowledgeable instructors and staff. Great wreck dive and reef dive this morning. Early start 615am meet up at the shop and knocked out two dives by 10am ish. Highly recommend if staying in Waikiki!
Sunday’s they can take the boat out further to get to some different dive spots than other dives in the week. I needed to surface sooner on dive 1 because I wasn’t able to get my body to calm down once at depth. Taylor our dive instructor, gave me peace while helping me resurface and I was able to calm down. Never have had to end a dive short & all crew were super understanding/encouraging. 2nd dive was turtle-y awesome, calm waters & best dive of my career yet! They have clean facilities, lay out your gear before arrival on chairs so you can get ready and top of the line equipment/wetsuits. Highly recommend!
No sh!t there I was, a few months ago, a total nobody. Staring at my remaining GI Bill benefits like the dirty old leg that I was. My Post 9/11 benefits were about to expire and despite my impeccable land nav skills, I had no direction for how to use what remained on my future. I was more lost than an officer staring at a compass. Fast forward to today. Today, I get to call myself Divemaster. My personal journey began a few months ago when I realized that I could use my VA benefits towards becoming a dive professional. A hobby I honestly had little to zero interest in at the time. I’d seen myself swim. It’s something that resembles if a lead anchor one day decided to identify as a fishing bobber. I just didn't see it happening for me. Despite the hurdles I needed to overcome, I decided at the very least to reach out and get some basic information. (The power of mixing monster and whiskey on a Tuesday morning is often extremely convincing.) Not as convincing though as Anna was when she IMMEDIATELY replied to my inquiries. Before I could ask if we were allowed to touch turtles, she had me dolled up like Tactical Scuba Barbie and I was in the ocean drinking salt water and peeing in my wetsuit. Just like that I was a diver. I won’t lie. Open water was rough for me. It was the beginning of the journey, and I was being a little beach. The entire weekend I had issues with ear equalizing and trying to figure out how to stop rolling around underwater. This is when “The Godfather” was introduced. Brian, the course directors, presence would not only provide the comfort of a woobie but instill discipline throughout the entire Divemaster course. Who will carry the boats? I will Brian. I will. Chad, the ex-Army snack that he is, took us through open water. Repeating exercises over and over again until we made the pool sweat under water. I’d like to say I immediately impressed him underwater but that would be a lie. I was a disaster beneath the surface and had to constantly be asked if I had read the owners manuals on my gear. I hadn’t. Not once did I receive anything other than positive feedback though. Chad gave 5 grown men more patience than a daycare teacher watching toddlers soiling themselves could have. I passed with grace. Which is just another word for barely meets minimum expectations. Regardless, Chad sent us off with an incredible foundation to grow on. With that we headed over to Jamie for our Advanced Open Water and Emergency First Responder course. Just staring at a cluster of us goons asking: Trim? Never heard of her. Yes, I’m ok, I have air, why do you keep asking how much? Why can’t I use my inflator button to rapidly ascend? Lets just say this. Jamie is going to be a course director one day. I don’t say this because she told us, I say this because when you see someone in their element as an asset to a company, you can’t help but see their potential. For the next 2 weeks she took dirty duffel bags hidden on a closet floor and turned us into somewhat pristine dress uniforms. Crayola stained? Maybe, but dress uniforms nonetheless. Alex took over for what turned into the most grueling yet rewarding course. Rescue Diver. If you’re feeling frisky and want to experience symptoms similar to being water boarded, I highly recommend you volunteering to be the rescued victim. It’s a beautiful blend of remaining relaxed and constantly being dunked by your best friends. I drank a lot of water during this course but the water drank in Rescue was by far the most appreciated. Under the wing of this entrepreneur and Tripler Hospital hero, Alex contributed his diverse knowledge upon us as we drug each other from the depths of Poseiden’s grasp and performed mouth to mouth with the homies. Skills we often practiced even outside of class. Patiently waiting, and ever-watching, we finally made our way to stand before the dark cloaked GodFather. Brian had supervised us along our journey as mere minnows to the chiseled mer-men we were transforming into. Our training culminated in 2 weeks of intense diving, swim tests and written work as Brians PADI Black belt beat us into submission. After 7 intense weeks of what once looked like submersed rocks drowning on the ocean floor, we had now become mythical Gods of the sea. We were amongst the elite. We were now Divemasters. While the training was always “fun”; often the most fun we had was with the dive masters and instructors on the boat we met along the way. April, Tay, Natasha, Anna and the rest of the crew turned every elective dive into their own unique magical experience. A diverse range of personalities that made us feel safe on every dive while also allowing us to enjoy the finer details of the ocean. Whether it was chasing bubble rings or vibing with a turtle, our extra dives were always a welcomed distraction from training. At the helm, Yoshi, Steve and the captains always ran things seamlessly. Amidst their navigating, assisting all the divers and running the crew, those guys emulated the diesel engines powering the boat. Tirelessly performing with absolute reliance. Maybe you don’t want to be a dive professional or do. Maybe you want to experience more of the ocean. Maybe you just have some benefits that you’re not sure what to do with. Whatever your situation is, I highly recommend you take a chance on yourself and check out the Waikiki Dive Center VA Divemaster program. 7 weeks before the program began I could care less about submersing below the water line. Now I’m geared out like a Tier 1 wannabe Larper and taking follow on instructor and elective courses with Kevin and the rest of the team. Were there ups and downs with the shop? Of course, just like any other experience. However after 7 weeks and 60 dives the end result and experience was absolutely worth it. So who knows, maybe you drown. Or maybe, just maybe. You too become your very own Tactical Scuba Barbie. Cheers to DM Class #002 : Dive Daddy, Care Bear, The Vagabond and The Wilderness Explorer UPDATE: I have now also added Assistant Instructor, VIP Certifier and TEC40 to my certs! So yeah. I guess you could say they did a solid job. THANK YOU!
Two great dives . Fun and safe dive staff also very helpful and informative . The boat and facilities was very nice and snacks were provided in between dives. We enjoyed our day and would return .
Two phenomenal dives with the Waikiki dive centre this morning. First was a shipwreck teeming with marine life, second a turtle sanctuary where we witnessed over 10 turtles doing their thing! Crew was amazing - they ran an efficient operation getting us back to the dive centre by 10:30am. Anna our dive guide and Zoe our photographer were both awesome!
