The Memories made with our tour guide, Young Seth!!! Wow is all I can say. We became Family, it went that deep. The smoothness of our times together, exceptional! Even with a broken ankle I almost walked into a crater. Oh what Fun!!!

My mom and I had the best experience with Experience Hawaii. I would give this review 100 stars if I could! Michael, the owner, worked with me directly to curate two days of the most perfect VIP tours of Hawaii. Michael was helpful, patient and most of all kind! He ensured that we were matched with the absolute best private guide (shout out to the one and only wonderful Seth!!). Seth was friendly, fun, and full of interesting information about Hawaii. He even knew all the good spots to go shopping :) It’s important to note that my mom was using a cane during this trip and we felt super safe and in great hands with Seth the entire time. If you are even considering booking tours through this company, do it!

We booked months in advance. My wife’s birthday & we wanted to go to Hāna & see the sunset at Haleakala. We didn’t want to rent a car or drive it ourselves. Michael created a birthday tour for us and assigned Levi as our guide. Levi did a great job, took us to many of the waterfalls, introduced us to locals & local shops. We never felt like tourists, we felt like friends learning and seeing Hāna. Levi created a list of our must do items and started working through them. Great day, great weather & good night to the sun as it set behind the clouds from our vantage point on Haleakala.

Spencer was an awesome guide! Accommodated our requests and had great suggestions based on our likes! The sunset was unforgettable as he had the perfect spot to take us between the sun and the moon. The ukulele and singing was a nice added touch to the ambience 😊 I would highly recommend this tour and Spencer!

We were lucky enough to get Sean. He was full of knowledge and answered all our questions. Took pictures for us and had many stops along the road. Super fun!

Highly recommend this company. We had an amazing adventure with very knowledgeable and kind guides. John and his partner managed to show us almost whole island. Kids and us had lots of fun swimming in the ocean and jumping from the waterfall. Every stop was unique and beautiful.

We did the VIP Private Road to Hana and Haleakala Sunset tour with Levi at Experience Hawaii Tours. What a GREAT day!! Levi was a careful driver and I was happy to have him driving us , particularly on the Road to Hana. If you have never been there, it's a crazy windy road with lots of one-way sections. You definitely need to know the road to drive it! We made lots of stops, including one to jump at a waterfall! This was definitely one of the highlights for us. It was a long jump and the water was a bit chilly, but we all loved it! Sunset at Haleakala is a MUST-DO when in Maui. To enjoy a sunset above the clouds (while on the ground and not in a plane!) was something we will probably never experience again. It was absolutely breathtaking. We were there the weekend of July 4th, which was busy, and Levi made sure to get us up there early enough to get parking. We had time to walk around and then find great seats for the best sunset we've ever experienced!

I have never in my life experienced a more perfect trip!!!! This was a once in a lifetime trip with a multigenerational family!!!! Levi and Seth were absolutely perfect in every single way!!!! Kind, engaged, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, entertaining, and made every single moment of the day perfect!!!!! I have travelled all over the world and I have never written a review but everything about our experience told me I needed to!!!! If you ever get the chance to travel the Road to Hana with this spectacular group and get so lucky to have Levi and Seth you are winning!!!! Take the trip!!!! Go on the excursion! Had a wonderful day with Ida. Very pleasant and knowledgeable fellow. He kept us interested the entire day and made stops everywhere we wanted. Having a processional do the driving made for a great day of sightseeing for us. Scenery was stunning. Not cheap but so worth it.

Just did the road to Hana tour with Levi and he was the best. He made the drive seem easy, was knowledgeable and super funny! I’d definitely ask for him for another tour!

Highly recommend Experience Hawaii Tours! Our family had a fantastic day on the Road to Hana. Our kids, ages 11 and 13, loved that Connor took the time to learn what each of us enjoyed and tailored the day to our family. One of their favorite moments was jumping off a waterfall. We visited the black sand beach, and enjoyed Aunty Sandy's famous banana bread. The day never felt rushed, and Connor made everything easy and enjoyable. Michael, the owner, was very helpful before the tour and shared great recommendations for the rest of our Maui trip. It was clear he genuinely cared about making our vacation memorable. The SUV was spotless, the service was exceptional, and the experience was seamless from hotel pickup to drop-off. One of the highlights of our trip. Five stars!

This tour was very informative and beautiful! My wish was to see sea turtles and our guide Michael took us to see them even though theres not a guarantee. He showed us so much. We truly had the best tour and highly recommend him and the company to everyone

He sold his plane ticket and built a life here. After yesterday, I understand why… The Road to Hana isn’t just a drive…it’s an experience that unfolds one breathtaking moment at a time. Waterfalls you don’t just look at… you swim thru them and showe under them. Climb them. Jump from them like you’re 20 years old again and fearless. Hidden caves that feel like you’ve stepped into another world… volcanic black sand beaches that don’t even look real… lush, untamed beauty around every single turn. And then… the moments you never could have planned. Pulling over for warm banana bread from a roadside stand. Homemade chocolates that feel like a secret only locals know … so good I actually proposed to the man making them! Exotic fruits picked right there, handed to you with a “try this.” And even shampoo picked from the trees Levi style…bc apparently that’s just a normal Friday in Levi’s world. lunch… an unforgettable, messy, perfect picnic style kind of lunch of smoked pork ribs and corn on the cob, eaten like you have nowhere else to be and all the time in the world. Shared with maybe the best part…the stories. The kind that make you laugh, pause, and realize you’re sitting with someone who chose a different kind of life and never looked back. And sharing it all with my best friend of 40 years…the kind of friendship that just gets it without needing to say a word…clearly a bucket list score!! We ended the day above the clouds, watching the sun melt into the sky at Haleakalā completely in awe. Somewhere between the waterfalls, the laughter, and the stories… something shifted. We stopped thinking. We stopped planning. We just were…And now I get it. Why someone would come here for a trip…sell their plane ticket…and leave it all behind… Because life, lived like this…present, wild, unhurried… feels exactly the way it’s supposed to be. Our guide Levi gave us one of the best days of our entire Maui trip. Each of my kids said it was their favorite day on the entire vacation. He took us to so many low-key, under-the-radar spots we never would have found on our own. We captured beautiful photos, we jumped off cliffs into waterfalls, explored incredible areas away from crowds, and ate an awesome Mexican lunch at Orale Tacos along the way. What really stood out was how natural the whole day felt. Levi is super friendly and great with kids, and by the end it felt like we were just exploring with a friend, not on a tour. He was flexible, easygoing, and really paid attention to what our family wanted to do. He was so knowledgeable about Maui and taught us so much along the way. I would recommend this tour without hesitation, especially for families. It was a highlight of our trip and we can’t wait to visit again.

Breathtaking scenery! Donovan was a great guide. He shared a ton of interesting information along the whole route. It’s a very winding, and at times, a very narrow one car width road. Donovan was very considerate and suggested I sit in the front for the “windiest part”. (I have vertigo but had zero issues.) Weather can vary. Bring a light jacket and good walking shoes. You’ll have a fantastic experience!

I own a travel company and tour for a living. This was THE BEST guided tour we have ever done, PERIOD. I brought my staff to Maui and booked this tour for 9 people. We had two Suburbans and two guides, Luke and Spencer. They were phenomenal! The guys were engaging, personable, knowledgeable and thought of all the little things that make a tour special, which included snacks, drinks and hot tea while we were watching the sunset at Haleaka. This was a personalized 10 hour tour of Maui that included waterfalls, beaches, and a beautiful hike. Donovan was an amazing guide. He offered options for stops and let us build the tour we wanted. He knew all the right places to stop after talking with us for a short time. The experience cannot be measured. It was perfect and unforgettable.

We had an amazing time on the road to Hana and Haleakala sunset tour! Our guide Cully was very knowledgeable and gave us great history of Hawaii and each stop we made on the road to Hana. He knew the flora well including the edible flowers, amazing vistas, climbed a tree to grab us fresh avocado, took us to the local food stops that had amazing fish and was just all around fun to spend the day with. We did not make it all the way to Haleakala summit for sunset, but we were in Haleakala park and the view was incredible surrounded by many locals enjoying the same while BBQing and listening to music. We definitely will use Experience Hawaii Tours again in the future!

Koby showed up and was enthusiastic and ready to go! He was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about Maui, Hawaii history snd the vegetation we passed. We had several amazing stops, including seeing sea turtles, multiple beaches and waterfalls! He was willing to stop anywhere we wanted. It was a great experience and we truly enjoyed his company.

Eo was a fantastic tour guide. He was knowledgeable about Hawaiian history and culture. He listened to our preferences and catered the tour to our family beautifully. We saw waterfalls, beaches, turtles, rainbow trees, mountains, sunset and so much more! It was a perfect day!

Malia, our tour guide was wonderful but I’m not sure Mikey, the owner, communicated appropriately. Pickup was supposed to be the cruise port but we got a text message saying we needed to walk to the bakery 10 minutes away as the tour company can’t pickup at the cruise port. We didn’t see twin falls either as Malia said we would need to pay extra and wasn’t worth it - even though it’s supposed to be included in the price. Same thing with the gardens. Malia did take us to some local waterfalls and swam with us which I thought was great. She did a chant for us which was amazing and something I’m not sure you would get without a private local tour. Malia had tons of great stories about Hawaiian culture and history. The road to Hana and the crater sunset make for a long day but there are some great sites and it was nice to have a driver. Malia did drop us at the cruise port after we mentioned the bakery walk was a bit sketchy. The cruise port pickup and drop off were one of the reasons I picked this tour so that drop off discussion was a bit confusing.

We had the best trip with Spencer on our private road to Hanna excursion. The accommodations and itinerary were perfect. We were able to see areas that were not as populated with other tourists and made adjustments along the way for the time and things we wanted to do. I can't recommend this tour enough!

Spencer was literally the best!!! He made our trip even greater than we could ever imagine. It was our first time in hawaii and he was very knowledgeable about the good spots with food, waterfalls, views. Also with plant life as well. Absolutely amazing anything we could have to make our trip better spencer provided for us. Give this man a raise.

Everything thing was perfectly timed, Scott was extremely knowledgeable in the Hawaiian history, culture, present day life on Maui. He pointed out unique characteristics of the flora. He was sensitive to our desires as to customize our experience. The sunset view from above the clouds is a once in a lifetime experience. This trip far exceeded our expectations.

The entire experience, from booking the tour to the drop-off at the end of the day was outstanding. We booked this on our own during our first day stop on the Pride of America cruise. Emails, phone calls and texts were immediately answered when we had any questions during booking and arranging for pickup. John was our guide for the day and arrived in an immaculate and large new SUV that made the trip very comfortable and safe. He had a thorough knowledge of the island and catered the day to the things that interested us most such as wildlife, plants, and scenic beaches. The road to Hana was great but the journey from Hana to the sunset at the crater was just as interesting and scenic. John offered great information during the day about the plants, animals, geography, and history about the area. On the trip we saw green sea turtles, black sand beaches, a red sand beach, dozens of waterfalls, wild goats, and many interesting plants and trees. The crater at the end of the day was spectacular and we could have easily spent several hours there admiring the views. I highly recommend this private tour to get the best individualized experience that caters to your interests and physical abilities. Thanks again to John and the staff!

We had a great time. Even when one of us couldn't quite handle the Road to Hana, the team of drivers for our group were super accommodating. They gave us great descriptions of the area. Most important, they loved our guide dogs and had no issues taking them on the tour. They customized our time to whatever we wanted to do. If we wanted to spend more time somewhere, they made space for it. From tasting botanicals we'd foraged to visiting a local chocolate shop, it was great.

We had an awesome adventure touring the island with Experience Hawaii Tours. We were a family of 15 ranging from children to grandparents. John, Caitlin and Spencer were our guides for the day. They did an excellent job recommending which sites to see and what to skip. They accommodated for everyone's needs. We were able to see turtles on the beach, surfers, a black sand beach, rainbow eucalyptus trees, swim in a waterfall and had a delicious pizza lunch. The guides were very knowledgeable and pointed out many interesting sites along the way. They got us up to Haleakala to see the amazing sunset. We would not have wanted to drive the Road to Hana on our own. The driver would have missed all the sites by keeping their eyes on the road. The guides were amazing drivers as well as photographers for many great family shots. Thank you John, Spencer and Caitlin!

This tour was the absolute highlight of our trip!! My friends and I had a wonderful time and our guide was so knowledgeable about the island. Even now that we are back home, we all still talk about this tour, it was the best thing we did on our vacation. I can’t recommend it enough!

We were so grateful for Kasey! He was the best tour guide we had out of all the activities we experienced while being here. Our driver was not available and Kasey came in on his paternity leave to give us the best experience we had on island!! He really pulled through for us so that we could enjoy our last tour of vacation that we were looking forward to the most! He had a bottle of cold champagne ready for us at the top of Haleakala for our honeymoon. It's was a long day and so worth it. We had an absolute lovely time with our driver Kasey. He showed us all of the sights around the Road to Hana. He was very insightful and gave us a lot of fun facts and information about the island and all that encompasses it. He was also very helpful in making the trip as safe of possible all while making it very fu . A very respectful and patient person, we highly recommend driving with Kasey! I will recommend him to all my friends.

My husband and I, along with my brother and his wife, took the Road to Hana/Haleakala Sunset Tour last week. Casey, our guide, was very knowledgeable and caring. One of us became very carsick about 3/4 way thru the drive. Casey took good care of her and was very kind. Otherwise, we loved the ‘SO MANY’ waterfalls, eating chocolate from the farm, Red Sand beach and much more. Due to weather, the sunset was not much, but being in the clouds was awesome. Michael was very flexible with tailoring our experience. We recommend Experience Hawaii!

My brothers and I just took a tour with Casey yesterday. He gave great service. We stopped at many sights along the Road to Hana and made sure I had time to take many photos. We arrived at Haleakala in time for getting a great spot to see the sunset.
