Gabriel and Sabrina are absolutely amazing and wonderful people!! This was my first time ever doing that, being in the Pacific Ocean and being with my wife and son were absolutely an experience of a lifetime

This was the best one on one with Gabriel Ohana ! Directions on where to meet up was easy . We pulled up next to ocean in calm waters a went out the farthest my husband and myself have ever been out in the ocean . We saw a turtle some small fish an eel and Gabriel brought up a starfish crawler an C urgent from the bottom . It was safe and wow the reefs he took us around was amazing !

Very professional company. Excellent communication. The conditions weren’t good on our scheduled day. We received a text with an option to rebook or obtain a refund. We will definitely be rebooking with Gabriel’s Ohana next time we’re on Maui.

This was excellent snorkeling close to the beach. The reef was surprisingly rich and complex. Gabriel was a kind, hardworking host. We snorkeled for a couple of hours and saw a turtle and nice fish.

This was our first time ever snorkeling. Some of us were very nervous. We also have someone who doesn’t know how to swim. Gabriel’s Ohana was very patient and they go by our pace, no rushing, no forcing. We would recommend this for everyone, especially for those who want to try snorkeling but have reservations. They provided everything. Just book and go. There’s also no time limit which is great for those who need a bit more time. We would do this again next time we come back to Maui.

Gabriel’s Ohana was the perfect tour company for first time snorkelers. Gabriel was super patient and a lovely guide, pointing out many cool sea creatures along the way and allowing us to hold sea urchins and star fish! He provided great assistance and tips to all levels: me and my family, who had never snorkeled before, the non-swimmers, and the people who had previously gone. I had a blast on this tour all the while learning about the beauty and the delicate ecosystem of this vast reef. Additionally, the snorkeling is truly unlimited; after everyone had tired out, Gabriel stayed out with me an extra hour while we continued to explore the reef. It felt like a private tour! Thank you Gabriel’s Ohana, for an unforgettable snorkeling experience!

If you feel nervous at all, DON'T! They take such good care of you! And are so patient and kind, and genuinely want to help. So grateful this father and son share their love and knowledge of the ocean with others. Wonderful, amazing experience.

Gabriel got us started at the waters edge. He then guided us further out from shore where we saw a lot of fish and 2sea turtles. I get nervous to be far from shore in an area that I have never snorkeled before, but his quiet confidence was just what I needed to be comfortable. Highly recommend this for new snorkelers as well as experienced ones. A beautiful day in the water!

Gabriel’s Ohana is an amazing company to choose for snorkeling. Jason was such a calm, easy-going guide. He made me feel comfortable with it being my very first time snorkeling! I told him I just wanted to see a turtle and he went and found 4 of them for me to see! We even saw a cute monk seal relaxing on the beach. Such a magical experience that I will never forget.

Awesome experience, can not recommend enough! Extremely in depth guide of the corals off the beach. Unfortunately (and this is beyond the guides control), the corals close to shore are bleached, but there is still lots of sea life to see!

Best experience so far! This is our first time me and my 13 yo daughter. Gabriel Ohana crew made it feel like a breeze! The guide was super supportive and patient in explaining everything holding our hands. The Santa looking big guy with flowing white beard and 50 yrs of experience your in safe hands. He knows what he’s doing! Middle of the ocean he kept showing us the special plants and flowers. Each time he goes in like a jeanie grabs something magical! So much fun! He took my daughter with him all the way to show her 3 turtles. I got hang of snorkeling in just few minutes and went all over the ocean by myself looking at beautiful fishes and magical coral reefs. Couldn’t believe this is our first time with very basic 5ft pool swimming skills lol. Olowalu is definitely very friendly not so busy beach nothing intimidating here! if Snorkeling has been on your list like mine and haven’t got a chance yet guys this is the place to get started! Good quality life jackets keeps intact with 3-way plugs. I was in the middle of ocean just by myself! They’re not rushing. He lets you start shallow at easy pace then take deeper with him. If you are not comfortable he will ask you to stay there. Small group so you get personal attention. highly recommend this magical experience! After 2.5 hours of snorkeling definitely you are hungry. highly recommend checking out local trucks and smoothie at Maui butterfly farms just a mile back from snorkeling point. We went to Leoda’s Pie and Sandwiches was so good! lots of vegan options too! my daughter loved the fresh fish sandwich and traditional chocolate coconut pie and fresh baked cookies there!

Amazing experience! Sea turtles swam right in front of us. Gabriel was so helpful and patient. Great family experience. Older sons had a blast!

We were so grateful we chose this tour! I’m a bit claustrophobic and felt anxious at the beginning, but both the owner and Costanza helped me overcome my fear. It was also our kids’ first time, but they’re strong swimmers and felt completely comfortable from the start. Gabriel’s dad (sorry, we forgot his name!) was an incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and sweet instructor! Aloha, guys!

This was an overall great experience! Jason was an amazingly fun and patient teacher. The members of our group had a variety of prior experiences, and he did a great job equalizing the group and helping everyone. We saw and touched several sea creatures, and all developed great breathing techniques! Would definitely recommend to others, especially beginners!

This snorkel excursion was absolutely fantastic!!!! Neither me nor my sister had ever snorkeled before, but Jason was so kind and helpful and helped us feel confident in the water and breathing through the snorkel gear. We saw so many pretty coral and fish and several sea turtles. I even saw the head of an eel sticking out of a rock! If you have bad nearsighted vision like me, Gabriel’s Ohana doesn’t have prescription eye masks, but I was able to rent some for the day locally so I could still see all the cool creatures. The whole experience was worth every penny!!!!

We loved our first time snorkeling experience with Gabriel’s Ohana. They are a lovely team, very friendly and accommodating. As a non swimmer, this snorkeling tour was great for me and I am so happy I got to see the reefs, fishes and even a turtle. Would definitely recommend them to any beginner planning to snorkel and we would go back to them next time

My family had an amazing experience on the guided snorkeling tour with Gabriel’s Ohana! We took our kids, ages 5 and 8. My son wasn’t ready for the full snorkeling experience but thankfully lovely Sabrina stepped in to give him the best time with beach toys and bubbles. The snorkeling was fantastic for the rest of us. Gabriel was amazing. He is a gentle soul. It's clear he genuinely loves his job. Gabriel was incredibly knowledgeable and always ensured we were comfortable during the tour. We had great views of sea turtles, colorful coral fish and close up experience of sea urchins and pencil urchins. He also taught us about the other creatures we encountered, making the whole trip a fun and an educational experience. Unfortunately, our session was cancelled due to rough waters. I appreciate that they put our safety first and offered to take us the day after or another day when better weather was predicted. They responded quickly to our questions. One being how long it takes to get our refund. They said they are not paid at this time and that Viator will refund it to us in two weeks. I hope Viator will be as good as the company. We would definitely try snorkeling with them next time.

Snorkeling with Jason was the most amazing & thrilling experience I have had in my life. I am afraid of the deep ocean and the animals there in lol, so to make me and my son, who are not strong swimmers, feel comfortable in the deep ocean takes a special kind of person. We snorkeled for at least 2 hours (it's unlimited) and got to see and hold some amazing sea life and observe the beautiful reef without feeling intimidated or pressured. I can't believe how comfortable I felt being 500'+ away from the shore and holding the brittle starfish, pencil urchin, sea cucumber, watching turtles, schools of fish etc. I highly recommend this tour especially for beginners and non swimmers as you will be amazed at how comfortable & safe Jason will make you feel in the ocean. The whole experience from start to finish was beautiful for everyone in the group. There were 7 of us and most of us had not snorkeled before. Jason was extremely kind, friendly, patient and very encouraging. He is also very passionate about the ocean, reef and the marine animals there in. Sabrina, with whom I was communicating before the tour, was also very kind and helpful and gave us clear instructions and tips. I highly recommend Gabriel's Ohana for Snorkeling in Maui. You will not regret it 🫶!

Great for beginners. Step by step instructions on how to snorke. Plenty of safety equipment. My wife has bad anxiety and they were so nice trying to help her. Would recommend to any one especially someone just learning

The BEST snorkeling experience ever! We were beginners and Mr.J and Gabrielle were amazing. They were kind, patient and very friendly and not to mention funny. While my mom was visiting me on Maui, we serendipitously found Gabriel’s Ohana on the beach. Jason graciously invited us to join his snorkel tour. Jason was so gentle while helping us set up with our gear and get comfortable in the water. Throughout the tour, I felt full safety and trust with him as our guide. He is a powerhouse of knowledge about the reef and his enthusiasm and expertise helped us experience the magic of the ocean. While snorkeling, Jason would dive down to the bottom to find creatures for us to hold while he shares wisdom about the life underwater. Time didn’t exist on our tour, Jason let us decide when we wanted to swim back to shore. It was clear that Jason genuinely wants to help others, in his words, “make memories”, while interacting with the reef, with love and care for the ocean. This snorkel tour was the highlight of my mom’s trip and one of my favorite experiences on Maui as a resident. I would recommend a snorkel excursion with Gabriel’s Ohana to anyone, tourists and locals alike. I really can’t say enough about our snorkeling experience with Gabriel’s Ohana! As someone who had only snorkeled once before (pretty unsuccessfully) and who is a just-okay swimmer, I had some trepidation. Jason put me and everyone in our group at ease by taking us slowly into the water, giving us instructions on how to use the equipment (little tips like baby shampoo in the mask and wearing the strap high on the back of your head make a big difference), and reassuring us that he would look after us in the water. We had non-swimmers in our group who wore life vests and got along perfectly well. Jason knows the reef intimately, and is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the marine life. He dove down to bring up urchins and sea cucumbers for us to hold, returning them to a safe spot when we were done. He led us into parts of the reef where we saw beautiful, diverse corals and fish. Aside from being a visual feast, the trip taught me a great deal. I can truly say it was one of the highlights of my Maui vacation. And when he says it’s unlimited, he means it; my daughter and I tired out before he even suggested going back to shore. Mahalo, mahalo, mahalo, Jason and Gabriel!

Hands down one of the best experiences we’ve ever had when traveling. True connections were made with the family that runs this business. They were knowledgeable, patient, super supportive of all abilities. There was no rush at all - in fact we were encouraged to go at our own pace and truly explore the reef. We were taught about snorkelling, the reef, the ocean, the animals living in it, and our connection to it all. We saw so many fish and turtles - right off shore. Felt very safe at all times. The beach was stunning, the water was calm, and the reef was enormous. We cannot recommend this business and this tour enough.

This morning I joined the shoreline snorkelling activity for beginners plus. It was totally amazing. It far surpassed what I could have expected. Not only did we see a variety of marine life. We also had the opportunity to view it up close and even hold it in our hands if we opted to do so. That was awesome. Our instructor/ tour guide Jason encouraged us to experience as much of the reef as we wanted. With the agreement of the group participants, we ventured quite a ways out from shore as we witnessed the coral reef and its inhabitants transition in complexity of size and variety of marine life. For me, it was like swimming between the walls of a coral reef “Grand Canyon”. This is NOT your ordinary tourist event. I highly recommend giving your business to these folks. You won’t regret it.

I had a wonderful experience snorkeling today with Jason. He was wonderfully kind and encouraging and made me feel extremely safe snorkeling much farther from shore than I would do in my own. He has an obvious love for the ocean and its health, and he is very knowledgeable about the sea life and the coral we encountered. He gives you unlimited time, I spent a little over an hour on the water, but he said he’s had groups out there up to 4 hours! If you want a tour with warm, personal attention, Gabriel’s Ohana is for you!

awesome trip, saw three turtles and so many cool fish snorkeling and the kayaking was cool too. fyi gabriel is 21 and single and his dad jason wants grandbabies soon so hit my boy up!!
