Turtle Town Sea Scooter Snorkeling Tour With Photos+video

Our scooter snorkeling adventure was fun. James was patient and kind. It took me awhile to become comfortable snorkeling and he was right there giving tips and an arm to hang onto. Once I was ready we were off to see the reef and its sea life. We saw 3 sea turtles, an eel, sea urchins, a starfish and so much more. The scooters made it so much easier to get around especially when it was a little wavy. We are both in our 70’s and have only snorkeled twice before. So don’t hesitate to go for it!!

This was my first time snorkeling and I was really nervous but the tour guide James was very friendly and helpful. I was lucky enough to be in a small group with some great people. Regardless of skill level this is something I’d highly recommend. In total we saw 4 turtles and got to hold several sea creatures.

It was a wonderful experience. Sarah was a great guide and very kind and patient. We even got to see a sea turtle which was truly the highlight of the experience.

Seth was an amazing guide. We loved the scooters and allowed us to cover more ground. Saw lots of turtles and got great pictures.

We had a blast swimming with the scooters. We could go much further with them and definitely enhanced our experience. Seth was an excellent guide and took some great pictures of us. Would love to come back and book again

We booked a tour on their website and no one showed up. Me and my children wasted hours of our short time in Maui. I eventually received a call saying they were closed for 15 days… this was not noted on their website nor on their VM when calling. Huge disappointment and waste of time. *note - I was told this was due to the recent storms but this needs to be communicated and booking stopped. Many other people and companies were out and the waters were extremely clear. Save your time and money and find another company.

This tour was INCREDIBLE!! Our family had the most fun on maui with owner Tristen and guide Sarah. The scooters made snorkeling so enjoyable , we saw schools of fish of all sizes and colors . There were so many turtles it was amazing. The owner tristen shot go pro footage for us , so we could all be in the video together having a great time that out family will never forget. I will recommend this tour to everyone coming to maui

My son and I went on the guided snorkeling tour and it was the best Christmas gift we could have gotten! The crew is super friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Took us to an incredible spot, stayed with us throughout the whole adventure, found and showed us some amazing underwater life, and made sure we were safe and wowed. 10/10 would do it again!

I took this excursion with my partner and her 84-year old Mom…James had the patience of a saint, making sure Mom felt safe and comfortable (though she opted out and decided to just float while we explored the reef). Mom was more confidant when we booked this, the open water maybe being more intimidating in person than looking online, though just getting out to float by herself at that age is more than most. First time either of us had snorkeled using sea scooters, probably not the last. They are pretty handy seeing more, and help swimming against the tide/currents. James showed us a great time, and even helped us get back towards our port afterwards which was greatly appreciated. Highly recommend!

Best way to snorkel! Was able to venture out further than usual. Our guide pointed out diff types of sea life!

Great for a solo or there was a couple that went out when I did. The tour suited us all. I guide was so good making sure each of us got all the attention we needed. Even when I needed some extra help!! I can thank him and my class mate’s enough

We had an amazing time snorkeling with the sea scooters with our guide! Truly a great experience! Even with our younger son, who got pretty tired, our guide knew just what to say to keep him going back to the shore. We all loved seeing the amazing reefs and fish. Our guide, G, was kind, patient, and genuine. We really appreciated him! This tour is a definite must-do (and this is our 3rd trip to Maui, so we've done a lot) :)

10 out of 10!!! G was an awesome tour guide. My 9 year old son said this was the best day of his life. We had a blast. It was very easy to do and we saw a ton of marine life.

Our guide Seth was amazing. He made it fun, easy and enjoyable. He was knowledgeable and made it a great experience for all of us. Our group ranged from age 9 to 60 and we all had a great time.

This was such an amazing experience! My teenager and I were nervous as we hadn’t snorkeled before but Seth and the team were fantastic. We felt secure in the ocean and loved how the scooters did all the work and all we had to do was float and explore the ocean life. We were lucky enough to see a monk seal, along with lots of turtles and fish. We wish we had time to do it again before our trip ends! Can’t wait to come back again. Worth every penny!

Never snorkeled before… had a few nerves! As soon as we met the instructor Mark, all those wirrries went out the window! Within a few minutes we were all geared up and ready to start having fun!! Saw fish of all colors and sizes, puffer fish, baby shark, and so so so many sea turtles!! The scooters do almost all the work for you so you can focus on enjoying the sights, and Mark made sure to point out all the cool things to look at as we swam. Would recommend to ANYONE with basic swim skills and an interest in clear water with a magical world of wild life to discover!

This was the most amazing snorkel trip! Our guide Marc was so helpful and gave us lots of interesting facts about the undersea wildlife. Definitely get the video. We took underwater cameras, but it wasn’t easy to use them while maneuvering the scooter. We loved the scooter! Mahalo Marc!

My 16 year old daughter, 10 year old son and myself had an amazing time on this tour. We saw a couple dozen turtles, unicorn fish, a white tip reef shark(not a threat, was just chilling at the bottom) and tons of other aquatic life. Our leader Marc was the best. He was not only a great instructor for the snorkeling aspect and running the scooters, but was extremely knowledgeable about the marine life and ecosystem. He took the extra time to show us star fish and point out different types of fish. If we make it back to Maui, we will definitely do the trip again. Thanks again Marc for helping make my children and my vacation memorable.

Our instructor was so sweet and so patient. My partner is deaf and he took all the steps to make him feel comfortable and make sure he understood all the instructions given. He was professional, really enthusiastically told us about all the fish we were seeing. He was informative and kind and we had an incredible life changing experience. Thank you so much mark!!

Incredible! My favourite were the turtles, there were sooo many! Saw reef sharks, an octopus and huge variety of fish. Enjoyed this tour more than Molikini. Sea scooters were so easy to use and let you get around reef without tiring yourself out. Marc was super knowledgeable and accommodating and chill. If your nervous do the non swimmer tour first.

What an amazing experience! Scott and his team provide everything you need and show you how to snorkel, so no experience required. The sea scooters made it so easy to get around in the water. Great communication, and I was even contacted to move my time from 12 noon to 10 a.m. so I’d have the best experience. We saw so many sea turtles!

This was SO much fun!! The guides, sea scooters and views were all amazing!! We saw lots of turtles, cool fish and had an overall great time in the water! Dave and Allie were great and made us all feel comfortable from the very start. The Sea Scooters were awesome and were so much fun to use! We go to Maui a lot and this will be on our list moving forward! I have never snorkeled before and after 2 mins in the water I was good to go and felt very calm and relaxed with the Dave and Allie by my side. THIS IS A MUST DO!!

Dave and Juliano made this experience comfortable and breath-taking. My family members all felt encouraged to do what was within our comfort levels in the water and Dave accommodated everyone to ensure they got the most out of our adventure. Juliano felt like he was everywhere in the water, capturing all of the amazing moments we were experiencing for us to share later. In regards to the sea scooters, they were easy to use and made gliding through the water a breeze, letting us focus more on the seeing all of the aquatic wildlife. I recommend going early in the morning to avoid other people and boats. The water was incredibly clear and we saw so many turtles! An hour and half felt like 15 minutes with how much fun we had. Would 100% recommend doing this again through them.

When I first saw a promo for underwater scooters, I immediately wanted to try one out. I’m an experienced snorkeler over 70, and was excited about the prospect of being able to cover more water and feel comfortable navigating the tight underwater spaces from both natural and manmade obstacles. I signed up for the My Splash Snorkeling adventure and was not disappointed. The adventure was billed as a 1-hour experience, which I thought would work out to 30-40 minutes using the scooters. However, Scott gave us a full hour on the scooters. Scott runs a first-class operation. He provides snorkeling gear (or bring your own) and an introduction to snorkeling for newbies. Flotations aids were offered to those interested. Once in the water, he led us through the man-made reef from the old collapsed wharf at the north end of Lahaina, and then out to the open ocean. I have never seen so many turtles combined in any other week of snorkeling. The trip's highlight was leading us to the resting place of many white-tip reef sharks. These nocturnal sharks could be clearly seen resting under the debris of the collapsed wharf. The one concern I had before the trip is if the noise of the scooters would affect the behavior of the sea life. Fortunately, they all seemed oblivious to our group of snorkelers using scooters. I highly recommend this adventure.

Nice experience and nice stuff. If you go to Maui, this is a must. We spent an hour and half snorkeling but we couldn’t see any sea turtle..maybe it was their holiday or weekend.

What a fun morning! The sea scooters got us easily through the waves and out to turtle town quickly. There were dozens of turtles, a couple of reef sharks, an eel, and a variety of other fish. Scott was a great guide. He is also a photographer, and we love the video he made of our trip. Highly recommend!

We’ve snorkeled many times before but never with a sea scooter. I was a little nervous about them but they were very easy to use. All equipment and wet suit tops were very clean and well maintained. And best of all we saw tons of turtles. We would have been happy seeing a few but we saw at least 40-50. And they swam right under and next to you. Also saw fish, an eel and a white tip shark. Very cool experience. Highlight of our Maui trip.

This was the best snorkel experience we’ve ever had! The location was amazing; we saw tons of turtles, all kinds of fish and even a couple reef sharks! We went back on our own after and saw a giant eel and an octopus too! Scott is awesome! He called us before to make sure we knew where to go, made the coolest snorkel video for us and even rescued my girlfriend’s necklace from the bottom of the ocean. The scooters are really fun too!

My wife IS NOT a swimmer. Originally she wasn’t going to do any of the water activities we had set up. At the last minute she changed her mind in this tour. She thought it is only an hour I can handle that. Anyways MAHALO to Scott and Ryan. They made the experience so enjoyable for my wife. She actually could of stayed out longer. And the other members of our party were not neglected. My son wanted to see turtles and we saw at least 10 different ones. This is a tour that I would actually go do again the next day if we had time.

I went on this sea scooter adventure with my 2 sons (11 year and 19 year old). The best snorkeling ever …after this never going back to the traditional snorkeling! The instructors were very knowledgeable of the marine species in the area. I also included a video package …should get that in a week. Very exciting trip.

This was the highlight of our week in Maui! We signed up for a one hour group tour and instead got a private 2.5 hour tour with not one, but two guides! Tristan was an amazing, kind and patient teacher for my wife and daughter who were both inexperienced. Scott was training with him and was also a brilliant guide. We swam with probably a hundred turtles and 5-6 sharks. Tristan and Scott showed us all over the reef. It was amazing and so much fun!!!

Do not hesitate to book this! Truly the best thing we did during our week in Maui. Beautiful reef with lots of turtles and fish, and the scooters were so much fun. Triston took the time to ensure the kids (who had never really snorkelled before) were comfortable. Gear was high quality so made for a smooth snorkelling experience. Experience was tailored to our needs. Triston is passionate about Maui and marine wildlife and was very engaging. Will definitely do this again.

THE BEST THING SHE EVER DONE My granddaughter came out of the water and I heard her say to her brother. "This was the best thing I have ever done!" ❤ My husband and three teenage grandchildren absolutely LOVED this tour. It was the highlight of our 7 day Hawaiian adventure and we did a lot of things while in Hawaii. The crew was perhaps the beat part ... though holding a live octopus is hard to beat. The video offered at the end will be a treasure we keep forever. Thanks team. You all are amazing.

First time snorkeling ever and it was super easy and very safe. Was amazing to explore the ocean, lots of fish and sea turtles. Truly amazing experience, I didn’t want to stop. The sea scooter worth it and elevated exploring. Yuri and Tristin (the owner) are fun and informative.

Went twice in one week. First trip with a friend on beginner snorkeling with sea scooter and enjoyed it so much I booked a private tour for my husband and myself. Dave was our guide both times and did a fantastic job, making it a memorable experience both times. We used advanced sea scooters on second trip and loved the extra speed. Dave found an octopus at end of your so great way to top it off

What a great experience! My girlfriend has never been in the water before. Not only did she go in but they almost taught her to swim and be confident in the water. Once we got out there they were great making sure everyone was ok and having a great time. Even pointed us towards a Manta Ray. Definitely going bqck with the skippies.

My bf & I did the private sea scooter snorkeling tour in Wailea, Maui. The tour guides Tristan & Dave were both amazing!! They were patient, understanding, very knowledgeable about the island and waters and helped even the most scared & beginning swimmer feel comfortable in the water. We saw turtles, fish & even got to hold sea urchins & an octopus!! This was a great experience neither of us will soon forget & I definitely recommend using them for your next Maui adventure!! 😁

We met Triston on our first day in Maui. We booked with him prior to arrival based on other reviews we had seen. As first timers, we needed instruction and guidance. Triston was excellent and extremely patient and kind. Our 7 year old took to snorkeling fast under his care. As a mother, I never worried for our safety under Triston’s watchful eye. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we booked immediately upon completion of our first experience to have another session with Triston 2 days later. He took us to a different reef on our second excursion so it felt like a new experience. He was great at helping identify the various species we were seeing. Would highly recommend his services. It was a fabulous experience.
