Turtle Canyon Snorkel Adventure - Small Group 6 Passengers

Our family had a great experience with Caption Peter and Liv. They were excellent with our 8 year old and our family, as it was our first time snorkeling. We highly recommend!

The small boat was awesome. I am prone to motion sickness and the small open air boat really helped and was so much better than the bigger catamarans. The small group size made our tour better than the larger tours. The boat staff were great.

We booked this tour the night before and got incredibly lucky. It ended up being just the two of us on the boat with Garrett and Zoe! From start to finish, they went above and beyond to make the experience both fun and educational. They were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic, and their energy made the whole adventure even more enjoyable. We learned a lot about the turtles and marine life while also having plenty of time to relax and enjoy being out on the water. What really stood out was how genuine Garrett and Zoe were. A few days later, we happened to run into them again, and they were just as warm and friendly as they had been on the tour. That really says a lot about the kind of people they are. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this small-group Turtle Canyon snorkel, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Garrett and Zoe as your guides!

We had a marvelous experience . Our guides Kayla and Zoe were incredible and went far beyond expectations. We were not able to find any parking at the time of our tour so they helped us find a place off site and assisted finding the car after the tour. Because of parking issues we were late getting away but their next tour had cancelled so we were able to get in a good trip. They took time to explain things, brought up sea urchins and star fish to see and directed us very well to the turtles. They made sure we had the experience we hoped for.

Garret and Zoe were amazing tour guides. We saw lots of turtles and tropical fish. We booked the 7:30am tour and had the ocean to ourselves. They provided snacks and drinks. Amazing experience.

Great trip, Peter, Olivia and Jannai (sorry about spelling) were brilliant hosts. Useful bits of info but really great in the water with us. Would recommend over the large tours which we have also done.

The experience was great ! Being our first time snorkeling Olivia and Peter did a great job explaining how snorkel. I was really impressed by Olivia she took care of my 3 year old daughter and 7 year old son . She was very patient with them. She made my kids feel safe . Peter was great showing us around found some turtles before we got to turtle canyon !

This was an awesome trip with four teens. Captain Peter and our guide Madi were so friendly and warm and kept our safety, comfort and respect for the turtles as the priority! We were a group of five (when other tours seemed to have 25+ folks), which kept us AGILE. We checked in super quickly, were able to get in the water in a flash, and (most importantly), were able to zoom through the water to view turtles that had popped up to the surface. We got a great view without having to look over other people’s heads and were able to swim and change directions without swimming on top of each other. We even had two turtles come up to the surface about 15-20 ft away from us, which I am convinced is because we weren’t a mass of flippers in the water. Unless you have a huge group, you should definitely go with the small group experience.

We had the best experience with our excursion! We received one-on-one attention the entire time, which made it feel so personal and special. Joe and Alex were incredibly friendly, kind, and knowledgeable, making us feel comfortable from start to finish. The highlight was seeing so many sea turtles—15 or maybe even more! Highest praise for Diamond Head cruises! They were so accommodating and made sure we were able to have our snorkeling trip while here celebrating my daughter’s graduation. Excellent customer service. Way to put people ahead of the bottom line 👍🏻 We really enjoyed the trip and it was in no small part due to Zooey and Garrett being so fun, engaging and knowledgeable. They made it an unforgettable experience! Seeing the beautiful fish and turtles was incredible! If we ever return to Hawaii we will book with you again and I encourage everyone to do the same! Absolutely perfect time! Guides are so nice and make you feel completely at ease and know the waters and work well with the people in other tour boats. Extremely considerate and trying to give you the best experience possible, letting you have much more liberty than people on the larger boats and groups. Also snacks and water/electrolytes are so nice for after. Also one of the only times my snorkel hasn’t leaked and was able to see everything perfectly. Saw 9+ sea turtles

On the turtle canyon turtle we saw multiple turtles, a shark, thousands of fish, and so much more. The water we crystal clear and got the chance to free dive some too. Brian and Garret were our guide and did an amazing job showing us around. Peter did a great job getting us there safely!

We had an amazing snorkel adventure. Joe was very informative and made the dive very interesting with his knowledge of the turtles and fish. Alex went out of his way to locate spinner dolphins which was an unexpected highlight. We would highly recommend Joe and Alex for the trip.

Highly recommend this experience. Small group was great as we weren’t crowded. Alex and Caleb were amazing at explaining the experience, taking us to the spot where we saw turtles, and the reef with a lot of fish. Bonus was the school of dolphins that were in the same area and able to watch them from the boat.

This trip far exceeded our expectations! Zoey and Liv were a perfect team and together, they created an amazing experience for us through their knowledge and expertise. We saw spinner dolphins, turtles, a manta ray, and a plethora of fish. Being on a smaller boat with just 4 family members allowed Zoey and Liv to customize the experience to exactly what we wanted. We highly recommend this tour and boat and will most certainly book again next year when we return.

A wonderful time despite the weather not being ideal. The small group size allowed our family amble time to enjoy water. The boat ride to the site was its own adventure with the waves. We had a blast. We were able to see multiple turtles in their element and the fish were plentiful. The gear provided was clean and fit well. The staff provided great instruction and we felt well cared for. The small group size is perfect and so nice to have them speak to us by name instead of just being part of the crowd.. This was a fabulous adventure. We saw plenty of turtles, pointed out by our wonderful guide Paul, who supplied us with fun facts. He was also able to give us personal attention as we were a small group. Captain Flo provided a smooth ride and ensured we were properly equipped and safe.

This snorkeling tour was awesome! The boat doesn't take larger than groups of 6, and since it is low season, my husband and I got a private tour for 2. Cedric and Flo were knowledgeable and attentive to needs, and explained everything we would see and experience and did a great job of making sure we were doing good and seeing all the neat fish and the turtles. You'd be silly to go out with one of the large boats when you can have such a small and personalized experience with these awesome people! Can't say enough about how much we liked Cedric and Flo, the size of the boat, the limited size of the tour group, the equipment, and the boat itself! 10 out of 10 highly recommend! Visited on 11/7/2025.

Turtle Canyon Snorkel is one of the best small party tours in Waikiki. Both Cedric and Zoe were excellent as guide and pilot respectively. Courteous, knowledgeable and professional, period. This was my second outing with the tour and I will always look forward to booking a tour on my next visit to Oahu.

We had a great experience with Diamond Head cruises. Zoe and CJ were personable, so helpful. The small boat feels safe and comfortable, snorkeling was very fun! Fish swam around us and we saw 5 turtles. Highly recommend this

We had the most amazing turtle snorkel tour today with Captain Grace and Paul! From start to finish, they were so friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive — they really made sure everyone felt comfortable and taken care of. The small 6-person boat was such a huge plus — it felt like a private experience compared to the big crowded tours. We saw so many turtles up close and had plenty of time in the water without feeling rushed. Everything felt safe, relaxed, and personal. Highly recommend this tour if you want an intimate, unforgettable turtle experience! 🐢🌊

All I can say is wow! I was a bit reluctant to get into the ocean so far out and Paul completely reassured me and made me feel comfortable. We saw lots of gorgeous fish to start with and then it was just turtle after turtle. We saw young to older turtles and watched them swim back down to the reef. It was so exciting. Paul also told us lots of interesting information about the sea life and local area. And Zoe was a great boat driver and turtle spotter for us. Paul and Zoe were so friendly and easy going and it ended up being just the two of us on the trip which made it so personal and special. Loved it and can’t recommend this tour enough.

Captain Flow and Liv were amazing! Saw so many fish and turtles and even a reef shark! The guide was super knowledgeable and both her and Captain Flow were friendly!

I We booked the 7:30am turtle snorkel adventure for our family (5&3 year old kids). Cedric and Cameron met us promptly at the dock gate and brought us to the boat where we were fitted for our snorkel gear and met our captain Zoey. The boat was clean and a very comfortable ride for both adults and young kids. For those looking for a more private, faster boating experience this is for you. The 7:30 time for those willing to go early was wonderful. The ocean conditions was calm with excellent visibility and the snorkel sights were much less crowded. We saw over 7 turtles and tons of beautiful fish in the reef. The crew was excellent, kind, fun and accommodating to our young kids. We wish there was a longer experience! Excellent all around!

Went out on this tour this morning— just 4 passengers and the 4 person crew. They took such good care of us! It was really a great morning — we saw tons of fish and several sea turtles! (Some people saw a baby tiger shark, but I missed it.) What I found really interesting was the scuba diver we saw way down below! It was a windy day and the water was a little on the choppy side — I got a bit tired from all the swimming, and Liv noticed and offered to let me hang onto her buoy to rest a bit, which was nice. Anyway, these folks too great care of us and we really had a terrific experience! We were so happy to be with this small group instead of with the larger groups we encountered while we were out.

I had my first snorkeling experience with my 6-year-old son. The waves were a bit high, but the thrilling ride on the boat was so exciting that my son couldn’t stop smiling. The staff were kind and attentive, especially toward the little ones, which made us feel very comfortable. We also enjoyed chatting with the other passengers on board. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

This was an incredible experience! The team at Diamond Head Cruises was very friendly, fun and knowledgeable about Hawaiian culture and sea life. The small group tour was everything. We saw so many turtles! The team ensures respect for the ocean and the sea life encountered. We have done a decent amount of snorkel trips around the world and this was honestly one of the best. Would highly recommend!

A great tour out to turtle cove. We saw around a dozen turtles in our hour long snorkel. Jo and Grace were great looking after us. The smaller boat made such a great experience for us vs the larger boats with heaps of people on them. Strongly recommend 🐢

Captain Mike, Paul and D were very helpful with my husband and me and our 3 grandsons 10, 10, and 11 yrs. They took us to a spot where they knew a 70-80 year old turtle hangs out. The turtle was very active. D helped us get as close as we could legally. Such a great experience! So nice to be on a small boat with such a hands on crew. Water and snacks were provided as well as all the gear.

This snorkeling experience was absolutely incredible! We had everyone from teens to grandparents in our group, and the crew made sure every single person felt safe, included, and had a great time. D was in the water with us and was fantastic—so patient, encouraging, and fun. Paulie was equally amazing, keeping us entertained with commentary on the ride there and back while also keeping safety a top priority. We laughed, learned about the turtles and the area, and the team really connected with everyone. They even made sure we got videos to remember the experience. Truly a highlight of our trip — we’ll definitely be back!

Great snorkle trip with diamond head to turtle canyon, small crew and small group made it a great trip, seeing numerous turtles and more from pipefish, dorades and even an octopus that we were able to hold, great trip all round

This is a great option if you prefer a smaller group and more personalized service. The crew was great and made for a really fun experience.

The snorkeling trip was great! We had a private tour since we are a family of 5 and we saw so many turtles. Jerry, Paul, and Cedrick were very professional and great all around. Definitely recommend!
