Amazing trip! Sunset was beautiful! The guides and crew were very knowledgeable and explained in detail what we were going to do and see while we were snorkeling with the Manta Rays! Our guide explained what the Manta Rays would be doing and added some interesting facts and information about the Manta Rays too. Highly recommend this amazing experience!

If you’re in Kona, this is a must. It was one of the most breathtaking moments of my life, having the mantarays swimming and feeding just a few inches from you is incredible. The crew is amazing and kept us entertained (and safe of course) throughout the evening. Truly unforgettable. Bring your GoPro!

It was amazing. The manta rays literally come up and practically touch you. Our guides/crew were super helpful and knowledgeable and really took the time to help anyone who needed a little extra. Would definitely do it again!

We had a wonderful time with the KonaStyle team. They gave us rundowns about what to expect, rules, etc at various points along the trip. There are alcoholic drinks available for purchase on the boat or free soda and water. They also provide hot chocolate and hot drinks for after you get out of the water. They really have it down to a science! They quickly get everyone the gear they need while making the trip to the manta rays so no time is wasted. I would highly recommend this tour!

I have an irrational fear of the water, and was very anxious leading up to this tour, but I really wanted the experience! The crew was MORE than accommodating, kind, and encouraging, and because of that, I was able to stay out in the water the entire time, despite the screaming children around me, one in particular right next to me kicking me, until his father finally asked for him to be brought back to the boat! I honestly can't wait to do it again, and I thought for sure it was going to be a once in a lifetime experience/hurdle for me! Mahalo to the amazing crew, from check in to the end!

This experience was incredible and I would highly recommend Kona Style! The guides were very knowledgeable about the manta rays and the captain and all took care of us well on the boat. I learned so much! We got to see the manta rays do barrel rolls and come right up to us out in the water. And the crew had hot chocolate waiting for us after we got out of the somewhat chilly water. I will remember this experience for a lifetime and am so glad I got this opportunity with this Hawaiian company!

We stayed in the water every bit of 45 minutes and it got super cold and people were starting to whine right and left and saw one manta ray. I know they can’t protect when these things come, but you think they’re a little bit clearer of a guarantee policy. It was very disappointing as they advertise. You see so many of them as well as told us that on the way out. I called them the next day to find out if we could go out again and was told they would get back with me to me know but never got a call back and said I would have to pay again, but they would discount it.

Beautiful creatures, but be aware that your arms/shoulders will get tired from holding onto the flotation platform. Also, bring napkins for afterward because there will definitely be a lot of snot in your nose from the snorkel and tissues were not anywhere to be found on board.

KONASTYLE gave my family one of the most magical experiences we have ever had! Our Crew was beyond fantastic! Rules and safety was very well made known, they went above and beyond with service and answering questions and when our youngest son had a panic attack and was done with the snorkeling, the crew took him back to the boat and made sure the rest of us could finish the experience! If ever given the chance, DO IT! Five stars plus!

What an incredible experience! This is the only place in the world where you can snorkel with manta rays, so it's really special. Kona Style is a great operator. You meet at their store location in the King Kamehameha hotel. To find it, you enter the lobby, go to the left, and then go all the way to the end of the hall, make another left, and it's out near the pool. They check you in and give you the chance to use the hotel bathroom. Everyone walks down to the pier together and boards the boat. If you bring a bag with you, you can keep it by you on the boat. On the ride out to the snorkeling location, they give you a safety briefing and hand out snorkels, masks, and shorty tops. I was worried I'd be cold, but the shorty really was enough. Once you get out there, they give you a pool noodle and help you get into the water. The floating platforms are very close to the boat, so you just grab onto the first handle and then move yourself hand over hand to your spot. There was almost no free swimming. Then you position the noodle under your legs to keep you laying flat so you don't accidentally touch the mantas, which can damage the coating on their skin and leave them vulnerable to infection. After that, you wait and watch. Mantas came around pretty quickly. There was one that was visiting our area consistently, and eventually she came closer and was doing barrel roles right under us. It was so cool. Rays are my favorite marine animal, so this is something I'll remember forever. Seeing videos of it doesn't do it justice - being there in-person with these 100 lb gentle giants is really special. There are staff in the water with you at all times, who are lifeguard trained. We had several seasoned, older staff members in addition to one young man, possibly in high school, who was being trained. The water was particularly rough the day I visited. At one point, I turned my head just as a swell slapped me in the side of the face, which knocked the snorkel off my mask and then my mask as well, which had slipped when the snorkel came off. The young man was wonderful helping me out. He helped keep me above the water swells while also putting my mask and snorkel back together. I couldn't have done it without his assistance because it really was rough that night. You can also get out early if you want, or if you get cold or for whatever reason. You just call out to a staff member, and they'll escort you back to the boat. After the snorkel is over, they collect the gear and then they have hot drinks available. I highly recommend doing this with Kona Style. There are an incredible number of details that need to be taken care of to ensure that everyone is safe and has a fun experience, and they excelled at this. The staff were knowledgeable, experienced, professional, fun, and friendly.

Amazing from start to finish. Experienced crew made us feel safe at all times - sitting on the front as we went out during sunset was an incredible. Didn’t see the most mantas on our night (we did see two) but it was still fantastic! Highly recommend Kona Style!

The Snorkeling with Manta Ray were amazing. Encounter a lot of Manta Rays. The crew were amazing, very professional, kind, and friendly.

The most remarkable experience, hard to describe. The crew was so helpful and made it accessible to all. I was traveling with two timid swimmers and they were able to get in the water and enjoy the entire experience. To come so close to the beautiful mantas is something I will remember forever - they were completely unfazed by us being in the water with them, not spooked by noise - they came in for multiple close encounters. I can't say enough how amazing it was - it is a definite repeat for me if I get back to the big island.

This was the most amazing tour!! From check in, ride over to spot, all of the explanations and tips, getting ready and finally the adventure itself, it was all spectacular!! The entire crew were amazing, attentive and friendly!! The Manta Rays were amazing and it was truly an epic experience!!

I booked the sunset and Manta Ray snorkel for the added sunset part. Mother Nature had other plans, but it didn’t matter!! The Mantas made up for it!!

This was just insane- didn’t even believe what I was seeing was real. A MUST do event. You will not be disappointed.

Aloha this was a great experience from start to finish. We were thankful for the wet suit tops that were provided. I was nervous to enter the Pacific at night, but the crew eased my concerns. We were in the water for nearly an hour and saw three manta rays. They did belly rolls in front of use gently brushing us. The crew was knowledgeable and helpful especially when I had a bad snorkel. The hot coco was appreciated. Remember to bring a sweatshirt for the ride back. Mahalo Kona Style for another Hawaiian memory

This was, BY FAR, our favorite adventure on Big Island. The price seemed high at first, but we took a chance based off of many recommendations and it was well worth it. The boat ride took about 30 minutes to the dive site, and we saw a couple of whale tail thrashing in the ocean on our way out; LUCKY BONUS! The crew gave detailed instructions and very useful tips on how to enjoy our visit with the manta rays. But nothing you can imagine prepares you for something like this: we were unaccustomed to snorkeling yet even seasoned snorkelers said their experience was amazing. The mantas LITERALLY feed right in front of you. They came as close as an inch away, and even brushed against my wife as they glided through the water... SEVERAL TIMES. They did loop-de-loops, left, and returned for more. And I swear they made eye contact as they passed by; magical/spiritual. 12/10 - no notes.

This was such a great experience. It's a little expensive, but it seemed worth it over some of the cheaper alternatives. You get a sunset cruise with drinks included (alcohol extra). We were in the water for almost an hour and had an amazing time. We saw a manta ray within the first couple of minutes while it was still light out right after sunset. It was quite the show and saw many mantas up close. Shout out to the crew Tanner, Doug, Bart, Trex, and Keawe. They were very knowledgeable, friendly and provided excellent service.

Comfortable boat and attentive crew. Greatly appreciated the wet suit jacket - helped with the cool water. We saw a lot of Mantas up close and personal. It was a great experience.

Sunset Manta Ray cruise. Me and my little one were "blessed" by the mantas. Truly a magical once-in-a-lifetime experience you should not hesitate to book. Crew were fantastic, captain was skilled and personable- always felt safe, and the mantas did not disappoint!

From beginning to end, these guys were amazing. After a quick safety brief, we sailed down to the viewing area to get suited up for the show. It took about 10 minutes in the water before they showed. Four big girls swam within inches of us repeatedly. Make sure to bring a sweatshirt for the ride back because it gets cold out there. We would definitely use these guys again. Thanks

The crew had to deal with an alcoholic couple, entitled people that struggled with following the rules. Those distractions caused the crew to overlook the rest of us.

Once in a lifetime experience. Our son is 9 and thought it was thrilling. Water a little cold (we are from Florida) but wetsuits were helpful. Staff very friendly and safety was their focus for sure

Captain Dan convinced us to go on the evening Manta ray excursion. It was really cool. Can’t believe how big Manta rays are. You have to be patient in the water (45 min) as it takes them some time to see the lights and come. This really huge Manta swam about a foot away from my face. So awesome. Thanks Captain Dan for convincing us to go. As usual the crew on board were excellent.

My wife and I had a great time starting the cruise so we could enjoy a beautiful sunset. We then were able to have a great and safe time snorkeling and seeing beautiful manta rays. The crew on the boat put safety first and were also incredibly helpful and friendly. After the cruise, we enjoyed a post-snorkeling drink (bar was available the whole cruise). We had a great time and would recommend to anyone.

This experience was outstanding. The time in the water is quite chilly, but the manta rays were plentiful and came within inches of us. Very spectacular, so a little chill was a small price to pay. The crew was fun and gave clear directions. Hot tea and cocoa on the boat ride home was a very nice touch, too!

Everything about our experience was excellent. Parking at the Marriott was easy and the boat is just a short walk from the hotel where you check in. The crew were super friendly and completely focused on our comfort and safety. They provided free nonalcoholic drinks on board and we paid about $10 for delicious mai tais. After the snorkel, they offer hot chocolate for the ride back. They worked hard to make sure we saw as many rays as possible. Highly recommended!

We had an incredible experience with Kona Style, doing both the morning snorkel trip and the sunset/night manta ray snorkel in the same day. The crew was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and clearly safety-focused. Our first scheduled nighttime manta trip was canceled due to unsafe conditions, which we truly appreciated. We later spoke with people who went out that night with other companies and said it was very rough and not a great experience, so Kona Style’s commitment to safety really stood out. The snorkeling was amazing, well-organized, and stress-free, and the manta experience (when conditions were right) was unforgettable. Overall, an outstanding experience from start to finish. Highly recommend Kona Style!

This was the most breathtaking, awesome experience I have ever had in hawaii. The crew was professional and friendly and helpful. It was worth every penny. The boat ride was fun and the view of the sunset is spectacular. I don't have the words to describe the feeling of watching those beautiful creatures underwater. I will never regret going on that trip.

Our evening with Konastyle’s Manta Ray snorkel tour was unforgettable. Captain Robert runs a very organized and professional operation from start to finish, which made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. Once in the water, we were surrounded by tons—literally—of majestic Manta Rays gliding right beneath us. It was absolutely breathtaking to witness up close. The catamaran itself was spacious, clean, and beautiful, providing a perfect setting to enjoy the stunning Kona sunset before getting in the water. After the snorkel, the warm hot cocoa was a thoughtful and much-appreciated treat. This tour exceeded all expectations, and I would highly recommend Konastyle to anyone visiting the Big Island. Amazing experience Crew was friendly and helpful throughout the whole process from booking on the phone to the end of the tour. My coysin was very hesitant and friggtened and did start to panic upon entering the water but Micah was amazing at calming her down and settling her anxiety to the point where she stayed in the water the whole time he was brilliant. Totally recommend

Hands down the funnest activities I did on Kona. One of the tour guides looks like Jennifer Garner.. they were all so knolwegable and it was all around just the best trip. I even had a huge mantaray swim inches from my face.
