Our guided tour includes stand-up paddleboarding with a chance to snorkel and discover what lies underneath the surface of the water. It’s a chance for visitors and residents to get an up-close and personal view of what Hawaii has to offer. While stand-up paddling may have developed in various places around the world, the modern surfing tradition has undeniable Polynesian ancestry. In the 1940s, surf instructors in Waikiki like Duke Kahanamoku and Leroy and Bobby AhChoy would take paddles and stand on their boards to get a better view of the surfers in the water. Located on the famous North Shore, we will adventure into the longest watercourse on the island of Oahu, the Anahulu River also known as the Anahulu Stream. This ancient Hawaiian stream, is a highway for the Hawaiian green sea turtles who use this water way as a safe haven from predators as they rest from the long ocean voyages on the Pacific. You will likely see them swimming, and resting on the banks of the stream and basking in the warm Hawaiian sun. This stand up paddleboard lesson and tour is perfect for the beginner stand-up paddleboarder.
We did the paddle board turtle tour, and we ended up spending some extra time paddling in the bay so that we could see the turtles there. It was way more exciting than just in the river.
The tour was a bit longer than expected which was great. The tour guide was super nice and we had great talks. We did see a lot of turtles. We could choose between a Kajak and a stand up paddle. He gave us local fruits to taste. Super nice experience.

We had an awesome time on this excursion! We saw tons of Green Sea Turtles. The explanation of what we were doing and the knowledge of our guide were awesome. Halfway through my 11-year-old was able to take my board and do it herself. We had the best time. I would highly recommend this outing.

I was with my husband and our 2 teens. None of us had ever paddleboarded before and the instruction was spot on. We learned quickly and were able to see the turtles. It was amazing.
Amazing experience. JC was very nice, friendly and experienced in water sport activities. He taught us to paddle board. He put my 6 years old son on his board and entertained my son. We saw turtles. It was very fun, relaxing and unique experience. I am so glad that we booked this tour and met JC.

We booked this tour through our Go city pass. Our tour guide James was great. He was very friendly and knowledgeable not just about the paddle board path, but also about other food and activities in Hale’iwa. We had a great time and would highly recommend.
Our family went kayaking with JC (our guide) and he was truly amazing. We had a very large group with young children and my older mom. He was able to accommodate all of us and even comforted my mom who was scared of the water. He provided a lot of Hawaiian history of the area and gave us great recommendations for things to do. He even took pictures for us throughout the trip so that we didn’t have to carry our phones with us and risk dropping them into the water. Everyone had an amazing time. The only downside was our 2:30pm time slot was during high tide and we didn’t see any turtles. I would recommend taking an earlier time slot or the 5pm time slot if you want to see turtles.
We did this tour at 5 today with 2 teens Koa was a great tour guide. The girls loved it so did we. We are both seniors bit still very active. We saw several turtles. KOA was nice and very good at what he does he took several pictures of us and the girls
This was so fun and our first time ever paddle-boarding. We started off on our butts, and then our knees, and finally were able to stand up on the boards while paddling. And I even saw a turtle! :) My daughter didn't, but we both had a good time and this was one of the best tours of our Oahu visit.
We joined the SUP and turtle tour in the morning, coach James was super nice and funny. My first time of SUP but the experience was fantastic! I love it and same as my family! Definitely worth a go, and after the SUP you could go for the Gioviann’s Shrimp Truck which is just 2-3 mins drive. Absolutely great experience and definitely worths a try! Highly recommended!

We did see turtles but the water was not clear. The distance was about right and quiet down on the river. We did have to carry the boards to and from the water which I think the guides should do as a service. Also, there's no actual building it's just a van that shows up at the beach. We drove back and forth looking for the address, don't do that.
This was the highlight of our trip! We saw so many turtles and the rope swing is a must. Highly recommend for anyone of all abilities. Steve and James were professional, knowledge and made our experience fun and 5 star! The 7 of us had an absolute blast.
The entire trip was incredible. We started at 4 and we’re able to watch the sunset from the water. Great for inexperienced paddle boarders like ourselves. Saw a lot of turtles and our guide Steve kept us away from any hazards (shallow areas, rocks, etc) we might not have known about. 10/10
I love to SUP! Been doing it since 2008 and I didn't want a tour with people who were beginners so I booked a private tour with Steve. From the first phone call Steve offered detailed information and told me exactly what we would be doing. I was solo and he made me feel so comfortable. We talked the whole time. We paddled in waves, open ocean and in the river. I can't count how many turtles we saw. We even encountered a manta ray. AMAZING. I cannot say enough! Two days later, I brought my husband and we went in the Outrigger Canoe. Fantastic experience. My husband has NEVER been able to get up on a paddleboard. After our outrigger experience, Steve dedicated himself to teaching my husband and he did it! I cannot thank Steve enough. Now we can do this wonderful activity together. All because my husband finally trusted someone to teach him after so many years. Big mahalo, Steve! We will be back ;-)

Steve is the man! He’s so nice and welcoming. My partner and I did the sunset paddle board tour. We were a bit nervous because it was our first time and we do not know how to swim. However, he was very reassuring and gave great instructions. We saw a bunch of sea turtles and the sunset at the end was the icing on top. Oh and we didn’t fall off once! 10/10 would recommend.
This was amazing! We had signed up to do stand up paddle boarding, but they had a new outrigger canoe that they offered us as well. We chose that and loved it! We saw a ton of sea turtles, at one point three in one area! And one swam right next to me! It was an incredible experience!
My mom and I booked a last minute SUP tour hoping to catch some turtles at play. From the lady who answered the phone to the guide, service was great all the way around. James, our guide, was awesome! He took the time to make sure we had pictures of our adventure, saw all the turtles, and took us to a spring to feel the cool water. He was very encouraging and got us to be brave to stand on the boards to see all the beauty surrounding us. And, he recommended Paalaa Kai bakery for some sweet treats after the adventure was over. Easy 5 stars. Mom and I agree this is an adventure, and company, we would do/use again.
Wow!! What a fabulous experience. This is our second time returning to paddle board with Steve, the owner and guide for our session. We paddled out to the ocean first to a little cove area where we snorkeled and Steve paddle boarded and watched the water for turtles so he could point out where they were. There were so many and they are such gentle and curious creatures. It was awesome. Our paddle board up the river was glorious and we had lots of great stories from Steve and he pointed out more turtles and sights and showed my daughters where to jump from a tree swing. They thoroughly enjoyed it and the day was one for the books. Steve is the best guide and we highly recommend this company for a SUP tour!!

Steve is awesome, when I got tired paddling, he literally somehow hooked his board to mine and paddled me down. I was nervous about getting sick, but the river you go down is extremely calm/still and great for beginners. We also saw multiple turtles! Steve got tons of photos for us and made sure we had a great time. Cannot wait to go back!
What a wonderful experience! Our large group was easily accommodated with the SUPs and kayaks, and all the equipment was in tip-top shape! Great for newbies, kids, and adults, they took us on an easy river and a bit around a bay, and we got to see about 6 turtles!

This was one of my highlights of my trip to Hawaii. Very helpful guides (Kai and Doug) who were patient and very friendly. My friend and I wanted a kayak rather than paddle board and they were able to provide that. Very peaceful and great way to experience the beauty of nature. Recommend everyone take this tour.

Super relaxing and scenic. The turtle part is correct, we saw at least 5 turtles within an hour. There was also word of a dolphin sighting around where we were. Tour guy is extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
This was one of the best activities on our trip! Our guide, Cade, was attentive, knowledgeable, & enjoyable. We saw two sea turtles, jumped off a rope swing, & a bridge. Perfect adventure for our family of five! (Age range 16-50 years.)

It was so much fun! And we saw a turtle! Our guide, Steve, taught all four of us well and we did much better than I thought we would. I didn’t think I was going to stand up, but I did and I never fell in! I’m not in shape at all and that wasn’t a problem 😂. It was a great location, safe and not crowded. If you can book a tour with Steve, you really should. It’s like hanging out with a friend or a family member that you like, not one you don’t like😆 👍🏽
Paddleboarding this little river was so much fun! We saw a couple of turtles, one swam right past us and another was asleep on the bank. Our guides were awesome and the tour group was small, just the two of us and a family of four. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed our SUP and kayak rentals very much. The guys who helped us understand the gear were so very patient and friendly. We were veering off the wrong way towards the river and one of them paddled behind us to direct us safely. We will definitely rent again!
