This was such a great experience! The boat ride out to the sharks was a fun time, and then as soon as we got into the water there was a good amount of sharks! It was so cool watching them, and my boyfriend and I got amazing pictures! The pictures are about $85 per person, but they are worth it. There weren't too many people on our boat and the staff were super friendly. Also doesn't feel dangerous at all! We were out there for about an hour and a half!

The experience was great and would highly recommend but we paid for pictures and still haven’t gotten them. My friend emailed them and hasn’t heard anything back.

Boat crew was incredible. Major props to them. The dive was fun as well. It was a bit scary to get in the water after seeing sharks surrounding you, but much less scary once you actually get in. Hell of a ggood time, highly recommend!

Fabulous experience for our family of adults! We are all fairly strong swimmers and felt good in the open water. The captain and guides were very kind, thorough, and professional. We felt adequately prepared to swim with the sharks. Of course there’s no guarantee, but we saw 3 galapagos sharks and a barracuda on our trip. I do wish parking instructions were step-by-step. Be sure to park in the South lot of the harbor.

Amazing experience Allie, Kevin, and Gunner were amazing. This was the second time with this company and got to see a 15 foot pregnant female tiger shark! Great experience would highly reccomend doing again.

My friends and I have been wanting to go shark diving for quite some time and we came across ocean outfitters to book with and we couldn’t have picked a better company! The tour operators were very friendly and informative about what we were going to be doing and how it was going to work. Because of this i felt extremely safe. We got to see incredible tiger sharks which was just surreal to see so close! We will be bringing our friends and family in the future!

We saw about 10 tiger sharks. Crew was knowledgable and made the excursion fun. Will definitely go back.

Outstanding experience with Ocean Outfitters on the North Shore! We did the open-water shark swim, and I cannot thank the crew enough for how well they took care of my 5-year-old son in the water. They were patient, extremely attentive, and made sure he felt completely safe and happy the entire time. Their incredible care completely eased my mind and turned a thrilling dive into a perfect family memory. Highly recommend!

We loved this tour! We were swimming with Galapagos sharks in the open water and felt entirely safe. The water was quite choppy, but that is to be expected in the open ocean like that. The crew was great! I would totally do it again. Must do tour. The sharks were very calm.

Ocean Outfitters did an excellent job making sure that me and my two teenage daughters had an awesome cage free shark adventure. There was great communication prior to the shark trip and they responded to my questions a few days before. I took their advice and scheduled an early time to avoid the stronger winds and choppier waters that tend to come at the later times. Once we boarded the yellow boat, Captain Lily and Safety diver Gunner did a great job covering the shark dive. There were around 10 of us on the boat for the dive that was very accommodating. They played great music and made the ride out and back fun! We were fortunate and we stopped for a few minutes to witness a pod of around 20 dolphins right next to our boat! Once we got out, we saw approximately 6 go 8 Galapagos sharks! The crew was very helpful with our snorkel gear and making sure we got to enjoy swimming with the sharks the entire time. I recommend getting pictures taken as well. Victoria was the photographer and she captured great pictures during our great experience!

Swimming with the sharks in open water is much better than a caged experience. Even though it was a windy day and the water was choppy, the boat ride out to the dive sites were enjoyable.

We had an absolutely amazing experience. We accidentally thought we had booked a cage diving tour, so you can imagine our surprise when we learned we were doing an open water shark dive!! But the all female crew was encouraging and let us know we would have the best experience ever. Our family of 8 (ages 14-70+) had so much fun on this trip, and everyone was amazing. We saw beautiful sharks and had a great time. We will definitely be booking again the next time we are in Oahu.

This was so much fun! While I dove with sharks in the past, this was a great experience for my 18 and 11 year old boys. We would do it again!

Honestly so much better than we expected! Truthfully went in anxious and nervous but it turned out amazing (especially for a girl who usually won’t go past knee depth in the ocean). The staff were amazing and my teenage kids loved it!

Experience was absolutely surreal and very calm / relaxing. The tour guides (two very nice ladies and the photographer) were knowledgeable, relaxed, and had very clear and simple protocols for arising situations with the sharks which they explained clearly on the boat ride. The boat ride itself was fun with a stunning view of the island! I would recommend booking earlier if youre prone to sea sickness, at 12 noon the waves were riding wild but personally I enjoy that sort of thing. The shark swimming itself was awesome, at this time of day it seems that there are many sharks, we had a whole pod of galapos swimming beneath us, and often right beside us! They are curious but cautious of humans, it is easy to swim peacefully with them. Prices for photos was $85 p/person, the photographer was happy to talk about deals with large groups from what I heard.. also, you can pay with many different methods right as you get off the boat. If you already intent to pay for the photos before swimming, you can tell her and she'll try focusing more on you / others who ask. Its a very smooth experience with these guys and the shark swimming is just the most surreal thing ever. So many of the sharks have scars and marks and theyre beautiful up close. You can feel the power of their tails when you swim behind them, it is amazing! Do not miss this!

What an amazing experience!! Great staff that made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the experience. Great vibes and music we saw dolphins, Galapagos Sharks and swam with a Tiger Shark!! An unforgettable experience and recommend 100%!! What a great team and they let us stay a full hour in the water with the sharks rather than the 30 mins!!

The whole thing was so well explained and made it so comfortable for any arising nerves. I love sharks and we got so lucky the day was beautiful and they were happily coming up to the boat when we got to the spot. It felt like plenty of time to see them and enough time to get comfortable enough to start swimming alongside them. Highly recommend, definitely coming again just to do this. We were a large group from Alaska on a senior trip to Hawaii. It was such an awesome experience and the students had a blast and saw 14 sharks! The crew were amazing and helped everyone feel comfortable in the water with the sharks. A great experience!

Overall, the experience was cool. There are a bunch of companies that do this and they are close to the cheapest. With pretty positive reviews, figured why not. The staff was pretty friendly and knowledgable. The boat was a full tour and it was a little overwhelming because it was fairly crowded. The trip itself was nice and they also stopped for some whale watching which was cool. Though it was the correct overall allotted time, it felt like our time in the water wasn't very long. We saw a total of probably 6-8 Galapagos sharks and that was it - all around 6-8ft long roughly. Obviously you can't predict nature but a larger variety would have been nice. The staff required us to stay pretty close to the boat, and on one side, so the snorkeling was also fairly crowded which is a negative. I understand it can be a safety issue having everyone everywhere and not close to the boat but it felt too close and confined. A big issue my wife and I had were getting out of the water onto the boat. They had a ladder but did not use it for some reason. It was difficult to get out of the water and into the boat without a ladder. My assumption was that our tour was mostly comprised of 20-30 year olds so maybe that's why they didn't bother (I don't know).

Outstanding experience - so much so this has become a staple occurrence of Oahu trips! It’s a small boat experience, super friendly. The experience of seeing the sharks this close up is incredible. I learned so much about them, and their unique undulation is so elegant! Thank you for this memory.

What a fantastic trip. This was not just a swimming with the sharks experience. We had quite the adventure boat riding the swift boat. We got to see whales so it was a whale tour as well! The team was great. We all felt very safe and informed. Our captain Lily was the best. We swam in open water with Sharks!! Can't describe how Cool it was you will need to go yourself, but go with this outfit.

I cannot recommend Ocean Outfitters enough. I was a bit anxious the night before, but the moment we arrived at 7:00 a.m. (which I’d definitely recommend for calmer conditions), that anxiety melted away. From the start, it felt like joining a highly professional, welcoming, and genuinely passionate crew. We were guided by an incredibly attentive team: two safety divers in the water with us and the captain diving alongside us as well. Having that level of expertise and presence made us feel completely safe while still allowing us to truly experience the dive. The instructions were clear, calm, and reassuring. Swimming cage-free with Galapagos sharks was nothing short of magical. When the sharks appeared, everything felt serene. Being so close to these magnificent creatures was humbling and wholesome in the best way. I love being underwater, and it was obvious that the crew loves the ocean just as deeply. You could hear it in how they spoke about marine life, and feel it in the respect and care they show toward the animals and the sea. A special shout-out to Cullie, who captured absolutely stunning underwater photos!! The photo package is 100% worth it and something you’ll treasure long after the dive. As if the experience couldn’t get any better, on the way back we encountered humpback whales. We watched them breach… even catching a double jump. Mahalo to Kevin (captain), Gunnar (safety diver), and Cullie (safety diver & photographer) for an unforgettable morning. Ocean Outfitters delivers professionalism, safety, joy, and deep respect for the ocean. I would do their cage free shark tour again in a heartbeat.

Do this tour. Find the yellow boat and do this tour. The captain and his team are amazing. They really care about everyone having a good experience. Their gear is excellent; the boat is great; they have amazing shark locations; and they are also just fun people. This is worth it (and do the photos!). We swap with 5 Galapagos sharks and were expecting a couple of tigers that were spotted in the area. Surreal experience and nice to know the guides are covering all angles and helping you approach the sharks correctly. On the way back to shore the crew spotted a pod of humpbacks and took us up close on an unscheduled watching adventure. Really awesome team who just wants to show you a bit of their dream!

I had a great time! Saw 4 sharks several whales jumping out of the water. Plus the water was perfect temperature couldn't ask for a better time!

It was one of my couple times being in the ocean and I was pretty scared not going to lie. All the divers made me feel really comfortable after like 5 minutes in the water and ended up diving down a bit. All super friendly, and I definitely recommend to all.

It was AMAZING! We saw 6 sharks. They are beautiful creatures! The boat ride was fun. Our 2 guides were friendly and did a great job! There is an opportunity to have pictures taken of you in the water and purchase them at the end of the trip. Highly recommend!

The coolest adventure ever in Hawaii! That is saying a lot as we travel the islands a few times a year. Victoria, photographer and safety crew, was so knowledgeable and personal. Kevin, our captain, threw in a lot of extras. Boat surfed waves, took us to the surfers to watch the massive waves known to be epic in the winter at North Shore. The shark dive is something you meed to experience. It cannot be described. Felt safe the entire time. Crew was all over keeping everyone safe while having fun. There was even a 7 year old in the water with us. Getting educated about shark behavior really gave us an appreciation of the majestic creatures. We highly recommend!
