You'll get an experience of a lifetime, an opportunity to be up close and personal with sharks. You'll board one of our two boats, take a boat ride out into the ocean, then snorkel in our cage. We operate with two boats, both of which are double hull catamarans, providing a unique and exclusive experience for divers. Our boats are the fastest and the most stable, which means more time in the shark cage and less chances of sea sickness.
What an amazing experience! Guides were knowledgeable, helpful, and safety-conscious. Sharks were calm and beautiful and I loved visiting their world for a short time. Totally recommend! I am prone to sea-sickness but took Bonine the night before and an hour before getting on the boat and didn't feel sick at all.
What a great experience from start to finish! The communication was perfect. They text the day before with instructions and pictures so there’s zero confusion the morning of. They’re also easy to get in touch with on the day of your trip! Captain Derek and his deck hand were very kind and knowledgeable! They were also very patient with us. The trip felt very safe and ethical! We saw 5 sharks during our time in the cage. Each group got about 20 minutes. We will be back!! This was a great experience!

I'd like to thank Captain's Derek and Taylor for the experience they gave my wife and I as we tried to salvage a vacation gone awry. First off, once signed up for the tour their communication was outstanding. Texts along with visual clues of where to go and where to meet them were very timely. That was followed up by a good introduction and briefing for the tour. Both were very professional, courteous, and friendly throughout the tour. First understand that the ocean is unpredictable. As we went out that morning the wave action was quite swell, pun intended. I love it actually, but I am nearly immune to motion sickness. For getting in the shark cage, it was not as much fun. But Derek assisted me and made sure I entered the water safely. I'm not sure if it is like this every time, but as soon as we pulled up to the marker buoy, dorsal fins were breaking the water all around the boat. I was selected to get in the water first. Once in, I was amazed. I had a dozen Galapagos Sharks circling the cage. They were swimming in every direction, left, right, and under. Close but never threatening. Each group was allowed to stay in the water for 20 minutes. I can tell you it felt much longer. And my experience proved to be worth every penny. By the time we headed back the ocean was even choppier, but Derek and Taylor got us back safe and sound. Whatever the maximum rating is, tack on +2 as it won't do this experience justice. A MUST DO!

This was seriously like the 4th best day of my life - after my wedding and two kids being born. If I lived here, I would bankrupt myself doing this every day. I can’t swim and have never snorkeled before so I was absolutely terrified and didn’t think I would get in the water. Captain Caleb and our deckhand (I forgot her name, I’m so sorry) were amazing. They helped everyone to feel comfortable and educated about what we were doing. I never wanted to get out. I would absolutely recommend doing this!!

My husband and I did the Haleiwa Shark Dive last Wednesday. It was absolutely the highlight of our trip! We got to see about 20 Galapagos sharks circling the cage. We also learned about some of the types of sharks around and some of the history on Oahu. Our captain and tour guide were extremely friendly and helpful. We had so much fun! I would highly recommend Haleiwa Shark Tours! I will absolutely do this trip again next time we visit! It was not expensive for the experience at all. We were out on the boat about 1 hour- 1 hour 30 min in total.
What a GREAT experience. We were immediately greeted by Palamalua in the parking lot. Friendly and informative. When we boarded the boat the entire crew were so very nice and helpful. Rules and safety were discussed and what to expect. Once we arrived at the dive location we saw shark swimming around our boat. It was very exciting. My GF and I were the 2nd group. Water was a little rough and cage was hitting the boat but that didn't deflect the sharks from swimming up to us. I was skeptical if we were even going to see any but the crew guaranteed we would. Did we ever!!! Palamalua even took pictures of us in the cage. As I said before the crew were informative, fun and safely got us in/out of the cage. I would do this over and over again!! A++++
This was the highlight of our trip to Oahu! Taylor was a great captain. Very good at explaining behavior of sharks and their habits. Safety was key for everyone. Sharks were plentiful. OMG. This is an amazing adventure!! Absolutely loved this. Highly recommended
The trip is quite rough so if you get seasick easily, I would recommend taking some medication beforehand. However, the shark diving was truly amazing and an unforgettable experience. Captain Tailor and her crew were so helpful and thoughtful with us first timers. Would have definitely considered going twice during this trip if it wasn’t so costly for a family of four. But other than that a wonderful time and I highly recommend it to anybody who’s visiting Oahu.
The tour was excellent. I went with my son. The staff was amazing - knowledgeable, kind and respectful. I went as an observer and my son went in. I felt like I had a similar experience as those in the water, as I could clearly see from above. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them for any tours.
Great experience for my daughter (12). She LOVED it. Adriana, who works the phones, did everything she could to move our reservation to ensure we were able to go despite the storm coming. Kalani (sp?) and Derrick on the boat were professional, friendly, and helpful. I had a rough go of seasickness because of the storm coming in producing significant swells, but every step of the way this crew was on it. Oh, and we saw many sharks!
We had the BEST time with Haleiwa Shark Tours! From start to finish, the entire experience was incredible. The crew was so kind, patient, and encouraging with our 5-year-old son, which made the experience so special for our whole family. They were extremely safety-conscious, and we felt completely safe and comfortable the entire time. They also did such a great job making the tour fun and informative. And the sharks did not disappoint! We had an amazing shark showing and got to see so much more than we expected. We cannot recommend Haleiwa Shark Tours enough.

This was amazing! Plenty of sharks around you! Some of them just 10 cm from you and if you take your hand out of the cage it can be extreme!
We had a fantastic time during our shark diving experience! I would recommend this company/group to anyone. The crew was fantastic and so welcoming and knowledgeable about the sharks. They also seemed like they genuinely cared about the sharks and environment and gave us so much information about the sharks. It also felt good to know we were supporting a local business, and they had great suggestions for where to visit/eat!
My family enjoyed their shark cage adventure, making this the most memorable part of the vacation! In fact, my husband wishes he had more time to do it again before we headed back home. The only downside was that we had pre-ordered the T-shirts but had to upgrade to the long sleeve shirts since they were out of the T- shirts.
Saw so many sharks. They gather at boat as soon as we approach cage. We were privalaged as only 6 people on tour and in shark cage. We saw groups of sharks, probably a dozen total peacefully swimming around us. Such beautiful creatures. No sharks even bumping into cage. Got so many underwater photos and video. I could have stayed in water for hours watching them. 2 tour guides were awesome. Boat driver even turned around on return trip to see a pod of dolphins going by. Very nice! I will say scheduling was a question the day before. They asked to move our tour from 10 am to 7am and noted rough seas day before. I appreciate that and no one can really predict the weather. I will call their bluff and say our small group was attempted to be moved into earlier group because they only had 2 bookings that day. I warn you, please don’t ever do this again to anyone unless truly needed to be moved for say actual weather, overbook, mech issue, etc. They did honor our original time, but we drove from other side of island and were expecting trip to be cancelled (weather story) and just don’t need this headache on vacation. My advice to tour operator, is rescheduling is the exception NOT the rule.
Awesome experience of a life time! The crew was great, very friendly and knowledgeable about the sharks. We saw a lot of sharks from the boat and in the cage. My wife and I will definitely do this again on our next trip to Oahu. 10/10 recommend.
A beautiful morning on the dock started with seeing a big sea Turtle nibbling on the dock! We then spotted more turtles everywhere as we left the bay and headed out to the crystal clear waters 3mile off shore. Within minutes we had sharks circling the cage. We had a full 15-20min in the cage and felt super comfortable with plenty of chance to get some cool gopro footage. We even saw a large pod of spinner dolphins on the way back spinning out of the water The crew were exceptional, friendly and a good bunch. Father, son & apprentice made it feel really personal and relaxed. Would 100% recommend, and would do it again!
Captain Derek and Kanani were excellent and I felt very safe. There were so many sharks it was unbelievable and the water was actually very comfortable and not cold, like i thought it would be. Even though the water was choppy I was able to get great underwater pictures of family and the sharks. I went with my niece, so glad she talked me into this great experience, an experience of a life time and well worth it !!! We had enough time in the water to enjoy the full experience. We were also able to shark watch from the boat because the water is absolutely CLEAR, great pictures from above also. Can't wait to do it again and bring the grandkids.
Captain Taylor was so professional and reassuring. It was a very choppy day and the crew were fabulously patient and calm. Not scary at all despite seeing the "Jaws" theme song the whole time. Highly recommended. Such a memorable experience.

Chumming is illegal nowadays so the sharks are coming because they hear the sound of the boat and it mimics crabbing which is like a Pavlovian response. The sharks were huge and the water was clear and such a dark blue. Completely safe from the sharks while we were in the cage, but the choppy water makes it a challenge to get really good pictures of your party without looking like you’re in a washing machine. It was completely worth it though and my kids gave it a 10/10 compared to all the other events we did on Maui and Oahu!
An absolutely unforgettable experience! Kama and his dad, Derric, a former Navy SEAL who worked with marine mammals (super cool) were our amazing captains. The utmost professionalism, care and compassion to all passengers(even helping one young girl who was scared), focus on safety, passion for their craft and respect for their culture and the sharks. Above and beyond customer service (Kama even took pictures of our family in the cage and sent them to us). We saw so many sharks up close and personal which was amazing! They were literally swimming all around us but never did we feel threatened or unsafe. It was an absolutely AMAZING experience. Highly recommend. Thank you for the experience of a lifetime.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This experience was far beyond what I expected! My wife wanted to do the shark cage dive to celebrate a milestone birthday, and while I was excited for her, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect in terms of how many sharks we’d actually see. We were blown away. From almost the moment we entered the cage, we were surrounded by large Galápagos sharks in the 8- to 10-foot range. They were incredible to watch—big, powerful, and surprisingly curious. A tiger shark even cruised through just after our group came out of the water, so the second group got to see it while we only caught it on video. Honestly, that didn’t diminish our experience one bit. The Galápagos sharks alone made the trip unforgettable. If you’re on the fence about doing this, don’t hesitate. The crew was friendly, professional, and made the entire experience feel safe and well organized. This was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Oahu, and I would absolutely do it again. Highly recommended!
Captain Derek and his son Kama were awesome! We did multiple excursions on our vacation and this one topped them all. Instructions on how to get to the harbor and how to prepare for our trip were easy to follow. They welcomed us warmly when they came into the dock. Overall an amazing experience for all involved.
So, I am a Marine Biology teacher who loves sharks. I teach in the Caribbean so this was a brand new species for me to see. We saw about 9 Galapagos sharks and it was AMAZING. Captain Caleb was phenomenally friendly and welcoming and there was definitely a clear focus on safety. It was choppy out but I could not have cared less as it was worth the waves to see these beautiful animals. Thanks for an awesome adventure!

Seeing around 20 sharks circling our cage was absolutely breathtaking—something we'll never forget. It was exciting, safe, and unlike anything we've ever done before. One of the highlights was meeting local waterman Kala Alexander. We've been huge fans for years, watching him surf the North Shore, so it was amazing to meet him in person. Absolutely amazing opportunity to get close and personal with sharks. They were within a 12 inch distance at times, as they were amazingly harmless. The experience was something that everyone must do once.
All female crew was competent, pleasant, and just all around awesome. They have their tricks in getting sharks to come visit the snorkelers to ensure everyone has a great time. Having a dedicated photographer to swim on the outside of the cage was a great added value. Thank you Ule, Taylor, and Ashley!

From the moment we arrived, Captain Ulu and Kama made everyone feel welcome. They were incredibly personable, answered every question we had, and shared the history of the area along with an explanation of why the sharks are attracted to this location. You can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do and care about educating their guests. The boat takes you about three miles offshore to a spot where we didn’t see any other tour boats, which made the experience feel even more special. We were lucky enough to see five Galapagos sharks, each around 8–10 feet long, and watching them glide around the cage was absolutely incredible. I was traveling with two 17-year-olds, and they loved every minute of it. By the time we got back to shore, they were already talking about doing it again. If you’re wondering whether to bring your own snorkel and mask, don’t bother. The equipment provided by Haleiwa Shark Tours was clean, comfortable, and high quality. One thing to know: the harbor can be a little tricky to find the first time, but Ulu, Kama, and the team send detailed directions by text the day before, making it easy to get there without any stress. I also appreciated supporting a locally owned business. The entire experience felt authentic, professional, and personal rather than rushed or overly commercial.
