This is a must do! Plan to spend a whole day at the beach. The kayaking was amazing, we got to snorkel and see a lot of sea turtles. If you have any questions the staff is so knowledgeable and friendly, partly because they enjoy the equipment themselves so are very familiar with the area and activities. Just an overall wonderful experience.

Excellent service, very friendly and helpful staff, easy to organise/reserve/pickup, got everything I need for a memorable experience! Nearly no wait time, logistics are streamlined from beginning to end, staff is very understanding when challenges arise. Would recommend the place 100%!

Our family of 7 (age range from 13-50) had a wonderful day kayaking with Kailua Beach Adventures. We chose the self guided kayak adventure and loved it. We hit all three stops. The final island was tough! With ocean winds and currents it was hard, but we made it there and enjoyed seeing two sea lions suntanning on the beach. The beaches were beautiful and the kayaking was amazing. I would definitely recommend this company/tour to anyone visiting Oahu. The staff were very helpful and explained the process from start to finish. The only con to note is that you have to roll your kayak to the beach, which is a bit of a hike. Not a deterrent, but something to note before you book. Read the details. Overall, great day, glad we did it.

This was on of the highlights of our trip. We loved the Kayaking and the quick bike ride to snorkeling. We opted out of Kayaking to the snorkel spot because the wind was very strong. However, we thought in the end we could have made it. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

My family of 4 (including two teenage boys) really enjoyed the self guided kayaking adventure. We island hopped to three islands and explored each one. It's not a great snorkeling spot but the beaches are beautiful. The kayaking was very easy--especially with two paddlers. The water is clear and beautiful. The staff was very helpful.

Staff is very helpful getting you set up for a great experience. There are multiple choices of places where you can kayak that cover all experience levels from beginning to advanced which is great. If you are new to ocean kayaking, be careful not to bite off more than you can chew. The ocean conditions can change quickly. We thought the location was beautiful and we hope to return again.

This was an awesome trip! Staff was incredible the experience was amazing! Definitely a trip I recommend for anyone out of town! Just remember to read the signs, follow directions and listen to the workers and you will be a-ok.

This was a great experience. Our 3rd time to kayak Mokulua islands. The team was awesome and very helpful. Got to see several turtles and a couple of monk seals sunbathing on Moku Nui beach. Would highly recommend!!

Firstly the weather is not their fault, they made the correct call to cancel it for safety and that is not the reason for this review. Communication was poor. Bad weather had been forecast a few days before and on the day, yet I received no message about this from the operator that there was a risk of cancellation. I think messages should be sent out on days of bad weather allowed customers to be aware of the risk. Before cancellation, I was also told on the door that due to the weather the island of Moku Nui was not safe to travel to, again this is understandable but should be communicated before arrival. Once I arrived I was told it was still taking place, however was left without a lot of instruction of what to do. I went up to a member of staff and got a blank stare until another member of staff came up. She was very friendly and smiley however just pointed me towards the equipment and didn’t help with life jacket sizing or which paddles to pick out. At this point the manager said no one could go out for the next 30 minutes, which again is understandable for safety but no apology was given. I waited 20 minutes before being told that I would not be able to kayak, and once again the manager (I believe he was the manager as he seemed to be in charge) did not apologise. I was then directed to a member of staff who offered me a refund or a rebooking, and when I asked for a refund I was told I had to contact Tripadvisor myself and sort it, rather than them. Safety is priority of course and they cannot control the weather, however firstly they can handle the situation better and communicate and secondly they can apologise. Had I gone kayaking I also got the impression that I would be given very little help or guidance. Had this not occurred I would have happily rebooked with them however will be looking to do so with another company.

Everything about this excursion was amazing! My wife and I had an incredible experience and would recommend to anyone!

Great kayaking experience from the online reservations to the check in. Didn’t do a guided adventure but Brandi and the team made sure we were comfortable with loading and transporting. Super friendly team clearly invested in making sure whatever adventure you choose it will be a success!!

We had an incredible time on the self-guided tour! Kayaking out to the Mokulua Islands and relaxing on the secluded beach was definitely a highlight. From the moment we stepped into the shop, the team was welcoming and helpful. Justin guided us through everything step-by-step—we watched an informative video, got properly fitted for life jackets, and received a clear briefing on water conditions, safety, and what to watch for. Out on the water, we spotted a variety of tropical fish and even a few turtles, which made the experience even more memorable. When we returned, Justin was there to greet us and help us bring the kayaks back in, which was a great touch. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I’d highly recommend this shop to anyone, whether you’re a beginner or experienced. Thanks again, Justin!

The staff were super super friendly. Justin and Avery helped us out & made the experience fun and comfortable. I’m a moderate kayaker and my husband is a beginner and we both had a great time. Saw a few sea turtles diving around by our kayak. Saw some betbirds at the sanctuary. Would definitely go again if we are lucky enough to come back to Hawaii!!

This was great. They picked us up in Waikiki in a shuttle and we got a shuttle ride back. Lots of time to explore the islands. We only went to the smaller island with the bird sanctuary and the other beach. I didn’t quite think we were experienced enough to do the farther island. We got a free meal, as well as a free locker, wet bag, and snorkels. We were told if we wanted to rent other items like boogy boards or beach chairs, those would be free and available to us as well. Map instructions were easy to follow. When we came back there were showers we could use and friendly staff to help us out. Morgan was especially helpful and friendly. Would 100% do again, we recommended it to our family as well.

An absolute MUST!! As a solo traveler, I signed up for the 6 person snorkeling experience & I’m so glad I did. The staff, Mossy & Trey were fantastic… have safety tips and talked through the snorkeling. But also shared the history of turtles, the land and different wildlife we saw. Staff amazing and the experience was even better. An absolute must!!!!!!

First off, we love how accommodating the staff are. My wife and I initially booked two SUP rentals for the day. However, due to high wind advisory, the lady at the counter suggested we walk to the beach to see if we wanted to have a 2-person kayak instear or re-book for another day. So we walked across the street to check it out, and it was very windy and the ocean was choppy. Great for wind surfing or kite boarding, but not for an open water paddle. We walked back to the shop and re-booked for the next day. The weather was so much better the next morning, albeit a little windy. Everything was provided for us when at the rental shop. We had the use of their parking lot, all there gear (i.e. snorkeling gear, dry bag, beach chairs, etc), their restrooms, and changing area till their closing time at 5PM. They had suggestions where we could paddle around Kailua beach. They even had a staff member at the beach to help you in/out of your kayak/SUP. We spent all day paddling to and from the different islands. Seeing multiple wildlife like birds, crabs, fish, numerous sea turtles, and even a Hawaiian monk seal! Will definitely book again when we are back on O'ahu. Mahalo Kayak Beach Adventures.

We had a blast going out today, weather wasn’t the best as it was a little windy and hard to paddle, but everyone at the shop made this experience so easy. Friendly staff all around, but Avery was super awesome and helpful! Will definitely be coming back again (when the weather is nicer)!

Great experience! We felt we had full support from the staff even though we were on a ‘self-guided’ day of discovery in Kailua Bay & Beach. This is a well organized, well run rental company. Highly recommend!

Super well organized and friendly! The staff took the time to make sure the kayaks were set up correctly and the PFDs fit well. Only caveat is that I would have preferred my paddles not be feathered, but that's a minor quibble.

Great kayak experience, friendly and helpful staff, and a beautiful location. I didn't pay attention when I booked and was surprised when I arrived to get free lunch, dry bag, and cooler to take along for the day. The paddles were feathered instead of straight. They may have had straight but I didn't realize the difference until I was learning as I rowed. Made it to the island and bag though. The scenery and wildlife were awesome!
