Alec was great! He took us on beautiful trails that we would have never found on our own - not crowded and very secluded! We were able to swim in waterfalls, hike through bamboo forest, had great local food along the way, and he was very attentive to what we wanted to do throughout our tour. Alec gave us an awesome experience on our road to Hana trip. It was super nice to have such an experienced driver with lots of local knowledge so we could look out at everything without worrying about driving. We took a few small hikes that you would not know anything was there like the bamboo forest trail to a waterfall. He worked very hard to take some amazing photos of us from unique angles, and poses that will help us remember the day. He also had lots of knowledge of the plants to answer our questions. Overall an excellent experience and higly recommended.

If you want a private our that is fun and different, book Alec. He made our day so much fun. We went off the beaten path to see amazing views and stopped at some fun spots along the way for treats. Alec has been doing this tour for 30 years. He knows his stuff. Can’t go wrong with this one!!

Our day with Alec was amazing, he knows this mountain intimately, pretty sure he can drive it with his eyes closed, took us to many waterfalls, black sand beach (off the beaten path) and the bamboo forest, and much more he was knowledgeable, helpful to others driving the road and a great time, Alec made sure my husband and I got the most of this once in a lifetime experience! He also does the MOST to get that amazing photo of you, I’m talking running up the road to get to the other side to photo you with the most amazing background he was a lunatic in the very BEST way and made our road to Hana trip! There’s no way we would have enjoyed it like we did if we drove ourselves. Plenty of bathroom breaks and he even got us Auntie Sandy’s banana bread and some Hawaii golden pineapple on the way ❤️ if you’re thinking of booking this tour with Alec the answer is YES do it ! This trip and Alec will be etched in our memories and our hearts forever!

An excellent day in the Jeep with guide Alec . He’s very knowledgeable of the history of the area and the hidden gems to discover on the road to Hana without the crowds. Quiet places with beautiful falls, swimming holes, bamboo forests & more. He took great pictures and videos for us to remember our trip by too! He has a great sense of humor which made it all the more fun and I felt like we were saying goodbye to a good friend at the end of the day!

From beginning to end our excursion was exciting, adventurous and fund. Alec went out of his way to ensure we saw beautiful things on and ogg the beaten path. Everyone in our group of five said that it was their favorite.

Alec was an awesome guide who took us off the beaten path. He shown us places on the road to Hana that were not touristy at all. No crowds or waiting in line for us! He knew all the business people along the way and they treated us very well. Alec is an excellent tour guide who will take you to see anything you want OR you can just go with the flow and see all of his favorite hidden gems of the jungle.

Unfortunately, this was a very frustrating experience. I booked this tour 2 months ago as part of our 20th wedding anniversary trip to Maui. I received a text confirmation the night before telling us to be in the lobby of our resort at 7am for pick up. We waited in the lobby from 7-8:18 after having texted and called, without a response from the tour operator. When Alec finally returned my call, he asked if he spoke to me the previous evening and then asked ME who he had in his car, since he had already picked up another couple. I guess verifying ID and the actual booking information that we were emailed is not a regular part of his process. He then tried to play it off like a scheduling error. At no point did he offer any sort of resolution to rectify HIS error. If you are planning a vacation that you have waited for and saved for, I would recommend booking with someone who is going to be dependable and provide the experience you’ve been dreaming of. Unfortunately, that is not this company.

If you’re traveling with a smaller group, this is definitely the way to go. The convertible jeep experience was amazing! The tour guide, Alec, was incredible! He brought us to less crowded spots and shared his knowledge of the island with us! It was an unforgettable experience. I couldn’t imagine trying to drive ourselves on that road, we wouldn’t have enjoyed it if that’s what we had to do. Also I don’t see the big group vans being enjoyable having to go at multiple peoples paces/abilities. The private, more intimate tour is the way to go!

Alec was awesome. He knows all the cool spots and is super knowledgeable about the island. He’s a great photographer, too!

One of the best things we did on Maui! We are outdoors people, love to see nature. Without all the crowds. Alec is amazing. He will take you as much as you can take. We usually skipped the "usual" stops and he took us to places you would never find on your own. If you like hiking into places. The road is super curvy and its a slow journey, but make sure to go early and beat the tons of cars on Hana highway. It is busy! He took just me and my wife in his Jeep. It was a real treat. I love his knowledge and in a small vehicle, you get to ask tons of questions and great conversation. A little more cost then the "vans" but after today, I would only go with Alec in a jeep! notes. Wear walking shoes that you can wade in water or get muddy and not have to change for trail walking. We waded across streams! and went through a lot of trails.

THE BEST DAY. highly recommend. explored beaches, waterfalls, bamboo forest. no tourist traps here, you see tons of hidden gems, we were the only ones on our hikes. 10/10 experience!

Alec was terrific! He was knowledgeable of the best locations. He was accommodating and willing to to make stops at our request and take photos of us. He had a unique approach to photography, which provided us with amazing images to remember our trip by! He is a skilled driver that made us feel comfortable on challenging roads. Highly recommended!

Alec was great. Truly a local guy who knew all the cool spots and everyone and everything along the way. This was more of a choose your own adventure, he listened to what we liked to do and made stops appropriately. He knew spots and stops off the beaten path, had fast access to activities, knew all the best spots. I would definitely suggest this guided tour to others. We had a great time and are so happy we did it. We never would have known the spots he did. Bonus, he is also a good photographer and videographer. He would randomly just take my phone and get pictures and got great video of us as we were swimming under the waterfall. Thanks Alec! 😉

The Road to Hana waterfall hiking jeep tour was truly an unforgettable experience. Our tour guide, Alec, made all the difference. He was kind, caring, and incredibly knowledgeable, and from the moment we started, he made my girlfriends and me feel completely safe and comfortable. Alec went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible experience. He made sure we didn’t miss a single highlight along the Road to Hana and shared so much interesting information along the way. What really stood out was how attentive he was. He even took photos and videos for us, so we could stay present and enjoy every moment without worrying about capturing it ourselves. His energy and genuine enthusiasm made the entire day so much fun! You can tell he truly cares about giving his guests an amazing experience! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Maui. If you’re lucky enough to have Alec as your guide, you’re in for something special! Make sure you wear some kind of water shoe or strap sandal for suitable for hiking and also swimming!

Highly recommend this experience!! Alec curated a great experience for us. We barely ran into other tourists which made the experience even more special. I would absolutely recommend this to a friend! There is no way we would’ve been able to do the drive between my husband and I. It made us feel so much more comfortable having a guide who is familiar with the curving cliff roads and someone who knew all the spots.

Honestly I was very optimistic about this guide even after reading some of the bad reviews. But unfortunately a lot of the negative reviews were 100% accurate. I’ll keep it short and simple. 1. He doesn’t take you to any good spots to get local quality food. Just gas stations. 2. When we were at the half way to Hana stand he tells us to sit in the car and grabs one banana bread and splits it in half for me and my wife to just share the other half. Unreal! We would’ve bought our own if he was that cheap. 3. He didn’t take us to any of the real road to Hana land marks or locations. He would say he knows of a better spot but after talking to locals we found out it’s because he’s not allowed to take us to the main land marks. 4. We finish our trip 2 hrs early due to the rain and asked him to take us to a local Hulu Hulu chicken spot to get food. Instead he takes us back to the gas station where his friend works. Smh. He does take picture of you however he rushes that as well. I highly recommend NOT to go with this tour if you really want a a great experience.

My son and I had a really nice day, with Alec. I was so glad that I wasn't driving the twisty road to Hana. I was able to relax and enjoy the phenomenal views and let Alec do the driving. We did some awesome hikes throughout the day, stopped at a few waterfalls, had some AMAZING fresh (right out of the oven) banana bread. And Alec also served as a photographer, throughout the day, too. It was a really great day and great way to see this well known road.

We had a wonderful experience. Alec went out of his way to make sure we saw what we hoped to see, and a whole lot more. He was safe, helpful, and knowledgeable about the history of the area and of “secret” areas that few others go to. He helped make our 40th anniversary trip to Maui a great experience and we highly recommend him as a guide.

Great day in the jungle with Alec. We were able to go through and pull off to see so many different thongs that day. He also did an amazing job making sure we got great pictures during our adventure. For lunch we just pulled off for a sandwich.

I can’t say enough about this tour! Alec was a phenomenal tour guide and photographer! He took us on hidden trails, to waterfalls, gave us lots of history of Hawaiian culture and even made an unscheduled stop when we saw a sign on the side of the road for “Cow Cuddles” and I said I would love to do that. He took numerous photos of us and our day on my phone, knowing exactly where the best places were to capture wonderful memories that we will cherish for years to come. If you’re looking for a tour of the road to Hana, look no further! This is THE tour!

Fantastic! I drove the road to Hana 25 years ago (honeymoon). We went with Alec on our 25th anniversary. There is so much you can’t see when you drive yourself. There is so much you would never see without Alec leading the trip. Do not visit Maui and miss this.

HIGHLY recommend! So many hidden gems that you would miss driving the road to Hana yourself. At most of the stops we were the only ones there or maybe one other small group. It was so nice to see the beauty up-close outside of the car, and to get view of the island more as a local would while still checking out the sights that draw tourists to the road to Hana.

If we could rate this six stars we would! Alec was a kind and interesting tour guide who showed us around for an amazing day. He has interesting stories to share, and makes sure you see and take many photos of all the journey has to offer. I cannot imagine a better way to see the road to Hāna, we took a stroll to hidden waterfalls and trails rather than just tourist hot spots. He makes sure you’re safe and comfortable along the way! Alec, shared a lot of information and showed us some great spots on the road to Hana. We were able to get some banana bread and coffee along the way. He knows the road and the history. We enjoyed our day with him! I especially enjoyed the bamboo forest walk. It is magical to hear the bamboo in the wind!

Saw off the beat areas on the Road to Hana. For the most part a good day but not impressed with the dirty jeep and driving of the guide.

We had the best day with our guide, Alec! Took us to more of the quieter areas and took tons of photos for us. Very knowledgeable and very safe! Did not feel like a tourist in a tourist trap. Was a beautiful day seeing all of the beauty Maui has to offer.

Waterfalls, the bamboo forest… it was like being a kid again! Plus Alec was very friendly and knowledgeable, teaching us about Hawaiian culture and a few other tidbits along the way! Do it! You’ll have a blast!

What a day getting to Hana. Alex made all the difference. From getting us deep into bamboo forests or hidden waterfalls he was patient, put safety as a priority and really made the day enjoyable. His wit didn’t hurt either he was very easy to get along with. He kept us fed, hydrated and made sure we had plenty of opportunities to use a bathroom! This was a first rate trip.
